Tabloid Apologizes To Kate Winslet Over Diet Doctor Claims

Remember how Kate Winslet decided to sue a tabloid magazine - Grazia - over their claims that she was seeing a diet doctor to lose weight?
Now Grazia has issued a public apology to Kate, stating that they are sorry for their mistake. Kate was reportedly very upset about the original claims because it made her seem like a hypocrite. After all, she is pretty outspoken about being against the pressure to be super-thin in Hollywood. So when the tabloid claimed she was going to a diet doctor, well… it made her sound bad.
On the implication from the original report that Winslet was being hypocritical, the new Grazia statement continued: “It has been pointed out to us that our article, therefore, suggested she had been lying to the public when she said this [that she was against pressure to be skinny]. We are happy to make it clear that our article was not intended to suggest any such thing.”
Good for you, Kate, for sticking to your guns!

Kate is a goddess,
though I kinda think she’s still a hypocrit because for the past few years she’s been like 20-30 pounds lighter than when she first said she wouldn’t bow to Hollywood pressure
whatever, she looks great and is a great actress
dress is unflattering though

I love kate she had a very classic look. I do like the dress but not for her, it washes her out. Something a shade darker would have been better.

I agree with Lambman–don’t get me wrong. I love Kate, I think she is supporting a good cause, but she has been waaaaay thin for quite awhile. This is not the Kate of Titanic.

She looks so good here. The dress looks really good on her, it would probably have looked better in a different color, but the design is very flattering on her.

I get the feeling they only apologized b/c she thretened to sue. I doubt anyone believes the stories they read in the tabloids anyway.

She rules. She hasn’t lost that much weight since Titanic, just a normal healthy amount. Just because she’s against the pressure to be too thin in Hollywood, doesn’t mean she isn’t allowed to work out and eat healthy like any other normal person, geez.

I’m glad she stuck it too them. When I read the article it did seem like its sole implication was that Kate was a gigantic hypocrite, so good for her making them apologise and admit it’s inaccuracy.

Kate looks gorgeous…and good for her! Why is it that people are calling her a hypocrite? She’s not ‘waaaayy thin’, she’s really healthy and she hasn’t lost her curvy shape. she’s a normal woman; sometimes she loses a few pounds, at other times she gains a few pounds. and she still manages to stay healthy and not give in to hollywood to be skinny. Good for you, Kate! You’re a great role model for real women!
