Courtney Cox Thought She Was Too Thin
Courtney Cox admitted recently that she thinks she was too thin during her stint on “Friends”.
The 42-year-old star, who appeared on the hit show for 10 years, says the size zero look is not for her.
‘When I was on Friends, there was a period when I was really thin and I thought I looked great,’ she says. ‘But in retrospect, it was not so good.
‘I did not have anorexia, but they [the press] kept writing about it.’
I actually recall many of the stories about her excessive thinness. I especially remember how skinny she was during the “Scream” movies.
Courtney claims to weigh a few more pounds these days. I don’t really see it - she is still very thin on “Dirt”, her latest show. (OK, maybe she is a size 2 now instead of a 0?)

What’s with every damn female celeb talking about their weight nowadays? And I doubt Courtney is a size 2 now…I’m a size 2 and she’s much thinner than I am.

I think this woman is truly beautiful whatever her weight. She has bone structure to die for. I prefer her bigger but understand that to work she needs to be thin. Stunning woman.

i guess her and jennifer aniston had a “i will starve myself because fashion and the press dictates so” period, jennifer keeps it up and courtney was soo skinny she could afford a few more pounds

The older Courteney gets, the more beautiful she becomes. But she never looks really happy in any pic I see of her.

growing old gracefully??? more like she has amazingly good work done on her face, her botox isnt extreme and her lips filler isnt crazy, she had thinner lips and more wrinkles when she was in friends than today but always great hair

lol this is so comical. her gaining 2.5 pds for some publicity, hoping to be praised for seeming to go against the size zero craze. yeah wow, what true inspiration. courtney cox, leading the way for curvy women world wide.
more like trying to buy 15 minutes. friends is long done and so is this woman.

What does Courtney really expect? She’s getting older, had a kid, so nature has been fighting against her being a size 0. (I bet if she had it her way she’d want to be a size 0 to the grave.)

she is gorgeous but she was really really really thin at the 3rd,4th and 5th season of friends.
at the 2nd she kinda looked normal.
but you can tell she is just naturaly slim.
and she looks amazing … better than jen and lisa.

i know im going to have a bunch of people yell at me, but i actually liked her thin! and i never thought she looked like she was on the verge of death, or even really skeletal. but in general, i always have a preference towards the skinny girls

For all the grief we give celebs dieting themselves to death, I kinda sympathize with them.
I’ll be the first to admit that if there were cameras trailing me everywhere and people scrutinizing my body, I’d be dieting like crazy and sneaking in to see the plastic surgeon to avoid criticism.

Great. Now she’s lamenting her size 0 frame that she helped to promote for 10 years on Friends. The show that can be seen nearly every hour of every day in nearly every cable market in America, exposing new generations of young girls to unhealthy body images.

She is one of the most beautiful women in the world. (Along w/ Angelina) I have always loved Courtney and I’m convinced if Monica had been the loose one and Rachel the anal one that Courtney would be the bigger star. Her natural coloring and her perfect bone structure are amazing. I think her body has always looked great and whatever little work she’s had done to preserve her looks was well worth it. I’ve always thought she was much much much prettier, funnier and better at acting than Jennifer Anniston. I never understood why people like Rachel, she was the least interesting character on the show. Monica was so funny and quirky, she was a neat freak, freakishly strong, formerly fat, and she and Chandler were a MUCH funnier couple than Ross and Rachel, also they never jerked you around with their relationship…no break up, back together, break up , back together, on a break, break up crap

lambman, I agree, I always loved Monica, the episodes featuring her and Chandler were always much more entertaining than the Ross/Rachel drama. Anyway, as for her weight, yeah she was (and still is) pretty thin, but she never looked extremely unhealthy or unnatural to me, unlike a lot of skiiiiny celebrities.

Yeah, she was really skinny then, but I think she’s pretty much the same weight still. And I agree that Monica was a way better character than Rachel, and she’s way prettier. I hate Jennifer Aniston, she’s so over-rated.

I was watching Dirt the other day and couldn’t help but notice she’s got a lot more muscles these days. She’s still skinny, but she looks amazing. Both her face and her body. She keeps herself up very well. And she’s in her 40’s. She’s not a zero, but most definitely a two.

Definitely photoshopped, definitely not pretty and definitely too thin. I hate the BS that some celebs feed about being naturally thin. If you look at her in the beginning of Friends when her face looks normal and she’s probably a size 4-6, you can definitely tell that her size 0 frame is not right. Same with other who are constantly yapping about their yoga routines and racing metabolisms. I’d believe it if I didn’t see shots of them when they were younger (and had higher metabolisms) looking slim, fit and healthy instead of skinny. Ellen Pompeo, Pamela Anderson and Selma Blair = naturally bony. Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, Kelly Ripa and Thandie Newton are not.

Funny enough, I watched some old episodes of friends the other day and thought that CC was too thin in them. It did not suit her. She was also very pale and her hair didn’t look healthy.
I think she is a very good looking woman. I’ve always liked her.

I agree she was too thin during Friends. She looked like a skeleton in some of the episodes until JA lost the additional weight and then it looked “normal” and set the tone for so many female celebs losing that additional 10-15 pounds in the 90s-00s. I think she looks great now. Beautiful arms!! But yeah, it was a small weight gain. Prolly did go from 0 to 2. But even if you’re a size 2 and thinks she looks smaller, the same size can look very different depending on each woman’s body. Think of how different your own body can look on thin and fat days. CC has perfect muscle tone so that slenderizes the look.

i find it weird how courteney and jennifer aniston were practically the same size, yet jennifer was never criticized as much as courteney about her weight. lisa was also at a normal weight, but not as skinny as jennifer and courteney.
anyways, i find them both pretty. in the newer episodes courteney looks actually healthier than the older ones. however, i don’t think that they were both scary skinny.

courtney jut got prettier as friends continued- her age looks so good on her!
She was incredibly skinny though- check out series 4 of friends- she was skeletal. You can see a weight loss from series one to the later series.
Jeniffer Aniston’s wieghtloss was huge though- look at series 1-3, then look at series 9 and 10. Oh my God!
(I love friends its still a fave series of mine. Ahh, sweet nostalgia)
Also when she moves her arms in friends you can see its ALL muscle. Check out “the one with the jellyfish”- series 4. She wears a bikini and looks really boney.

Agree with you Keelia. And the press did get on Jennifer Aniston about her weight. Everyone knew she’d lost a ton of weight before Friends, I think it was 30 pounds, so when she lost the additional 10-15 people started talking. Some people tried to get her personal trainer to give the “get skinny like JA” tips and the trainer distanced herself, saying she didn’t help JA lose the additional weight and didn’t advocate her being that size. So there was a tab frenzy about JA being ED and CC sympathized cuz she’d already been thru the rumour mill. Once Angelina Jolie came on the scene, the ED stuff was old news and anyway although svelte, JA is not as skinny as she was in some of the Friends episodes.
