Is Nicole Richie in Rehab or At Home?

Did Nicole Richie go back in rehab for a painkiller addiction and anorexia? Or is she at home, just resting? Star Magazine and the National Enquirer (both owned by the same publishing company, by the way) claimed that Nicole headed into rehab “yet again” for treatment on this past Saturday.
But TMZ.com is reporting that Nicole’s publicist has made a statement denying the rehab rumors. She claims that Nicole is at home in Glendale, CA, resting.
But Richie’s rep tells TMZ a totally different story, namely that she isn’t — and wasn’t — in rehab, and that she’s “in Glendale at her house” (and, we presume, eating). We’re told that she did go back to see her therapist, and that her recovery is “an ongoing process,” but that she’s “completely sober.”
Which story is really true? I suppose we will find out soon enough! I personally don’t think she is in rehab since the National Enquirer and Star are both notorious for publishing completely false stories…

The magazines say she WAS in rehab and is now having outpatient treatment. Richie’s rep denied that Nicole IS in rehab, and stated she’s at home. She never said she DIDN’T go to rehab. Apparently they have pictures of her entering rehab. Meh. I don’t really care to be honest, but perez hilton has the details that I just listed.

I hear that she checked into rehab for drugs & anorexia around May 13th and just got released a few days ago. She is now at home, ‘resting.’

they was so close to her last time that i saw a video of her going to a nail salon..that was scary–they almost knock her down on flor…
She checked into rehab on May 11th…and she is out already!? She must be cured!!!

I LOVE HER and I continue to care about her peach. Shes wonderful. Plus have you people listened to her song? Shes actually pretty good.
She has completely relied on the paps to build a “career” (I use that term VERY loosely), so I can’t say I have any sympathy if she wants to get away from them. She chooses to hang out in places where she knows she will be photographed and where she knows the paps will be…She really doesn’t have any talent - let’s see what she’s famous for - The Simple Life (being a privileged bimbo shocked by what many American’s see as ordinary life), being underweight (she starved herself and ran on a beach looking emaciated in an ill-fitting bikini), being a drug addict and adopted by Lionel Richie (she “wrote” a book about it)…Yep, were it not for her daddy’s money she would probably be working at Wal-Mart…No offence meant to anyone working at Wal-Mart…
jeeze i hope to god she gets help, the ways she heading…… i wouldnt be surprised if she died in the next 5 years, honestly shes skin and bone. i feel so sorry for her
She was in rehab and is out now. Jeez-let her get help if she wants it!
Yeah, she does need help, but staying in rehab for 10 days isn’t gonna cut it…she needs to be there for ALOT longer than that if she wants to see any improvement! I really don’t think she has hit her bottom yet though…she probably just went there to make other happy, yet again. She needs to want help…which she obviously doesn’t right now.

Agree the photo is great artistically. Nicole clearly looks ill but the use of colour and the framing is genius. Anyone know who the photog is?

One look at this girl and you know she needs help. Women who are definitely in rehab for eating disorders (like the ones in the documentary “Thin” that was featured on HBO) are bigger than Nicole. I wish her well. I do find her cool and entertaining, but the allure of Hollwood vices seems to be getting the best of many of these party girls–especially her.
Neither magazine is really credible… I’d say this is as close as they get to fabricating a story that SOUNDS real, but isn’t. I don’t think she’d go into rehab anyway.

Maybe she’s staying out of the limelight because she’s seen all the negative press Paris has been getting about jail. I mean, she did drive the wrong way down a highway under the influence, which is pretty dangerous…
Regardless, I think she’s awesome and I hope that she is getting help if she needs any.

I agree with Kate. Even if she did go to rehab she needs more help than 10 days. Out patient is not enough. She hasn’t hit her bottom yet, and until she does, nothing will change for her.

hmm… whatever about her being in rehab. That’s something that’s deeply personal and I wouldn’t want it blabbed about so I can be stalked more.
I just think she looks like Twiggy in the photo. Pretty picture. Sad looking girl.
resting from what exactly? Is resting from doing nothing and partying and posing for photos is supposed to be better than getting help for being quite obviously ill? I can understand not saying you are in rehab… but resting? It just screams “I am coming out with my full story in book form”, since had she wanted it denied entirely, she would be “on vacation on a private island in an undisclosed country, while saving baby whales and considering adopting several children while taking on a new religious faith!”.
I think she is about as addicted to being made some public icon for no reason other than shock value, as she is to starving herself to numb out the things she doesn’t want to deal with. It’s horribly sad and it’s getting really old to see this in every tabloid for over 2 years now.

I don’t know HOW she can actually deny being anorexic. Anyone with 1/3 of a brain could tell that she’s majorly sick. It just baffles me that she can go “I’m not anorexic!” and anyone can believe it. I do feel sorry for her though, to an extent, because it’s a serious problem, which doesn’t go away with a week of rehab.
Tracy, I suffered from both anorexia and bulimia for over a decade. It’s really easy to fool your-self into thinking you’re not actually sick and to tell people they’re crazy for even thinking you are. It feels normal to be restricting or bingeing/purging because it becomes such a huge part of your life, so it’s not surprising that Nicole is denying she is sick. She is either in deep denial her-self, or just does not want every-one in her private business.
