New Kelly Ripa Candids
Written on June 7, 2007 – 12:24 pm | by Rian |
Here are some new pictures of Kelly Ripa, wearing shorts and walking through a park.

This girl seems to be in amazingly great shape. Almost (but not quite) too thin, and toned. Do you agree?

She looks good in these photos but, I watched her show yesterday and she had on a belted short white dress and just looked scary skinny. Although of all the skinny people out there she carries it off the best. She is uber thin but, doesn’t look like she’s on death’s doorstep.

I’m don’t really like her body, she strives me as the type of persn who puts so much effort into dieting and exercising and the end results aren’t worth the effor. I think she just had a more normal diet and exercise pattern she wouldn’t look so severe all the time.

Ripa is very muscular and it’s obvious she’s a gym rat. I think she needs to lay off the weights; my doctor told me that too much muscle definition is not healthy. Her arms look taut and it’s kind of scary.

I’ve seen her workout in a magazine it’s not grueling enough to create such bulky muscles/lean body mass.
Now if only she didn’t annoy the hell out of me- then she’d make a complete package.

DaveW–
You are more than entitled to your own opinion on the matter…I just wonder if you realize how a comment like that can really get inside a persons head. I’ve heard it a million times since middle school (29)Whether it’s true or not, that’s a matter of opinion, and I don’t expect people to not say it just because it bothers me…that’s my own issue. But hearing those things to the point of disgust, people will vow to do WHATEVER it takes to never heard that shit again.
Again, your opinion is what it is, and I respect that.
Besides…I’m probably making a bigger deal about it than I normally would. Feel free to skip my blabbering altogether.

LaLa said, in part, “my doctor told me that too much muscle definition is not healthy”. What? Why?
I have more muscle definition than she does and I’m 43. I have never felt or looked better in my life and am extremely proud of the work I’ve done to get this way and the results I’ve achieved. No doctor has ever told me that my muscle definition is unhealthy. In fact, they’ve admired it and told me to keep up the really great work.

I have her exact body type and trust me, as long as you eat a HEALTHY diet and excercise moderately, it’s a body type that will look lean and somewhat thin.

She looks great for having kids and in her 30’s and I am sure lots of women envy her. I do think she looks a lot thinner than when she first came on the scene, but overall still a very pretty woman with a great body

OK I will say that I saw her in person on the streets of NY the other day.
I saw this woman approaching me and my first thought was, “Look at that anorexic Long Island housewife.” then I saw it was KR
She is visibly extremely emaciated in person and her hair color is an unnatural straw-colored yellow that photographs well but looks very false in natural lighting
She needs to gain some lbs. It’s one thing to have sexy clavicle bones, another thing to have your bumpy upper ribs standing out like a relief map.

Marykate, she co-hosts a morning show called “Live with Regis and Kelly”. Regis is Regis Philbin, who I suppose you could call a “personality”. He fancies himself an entertainer, but … uhm … well, that’s up to interpretation. The show is based out of NYC. She was also on “All My Children”, a soap opera, for about ten years (where she met her husband, the father of her three kids) and co-starred in “Hope and Faith”, a prime-time sitcom here in the U.S. for a few years.
And I agree with you that not every woman has to be a C-cup. You’re either genetically programmed to have big jugs or not, people. If it’s just not in your genes, you’ve gotta buy ‘em. I, for one, am thrilled when women with small chests don’t augment. Three cheers for the likes of Kate Hudson, Kelly Ripa, and Debra Messing.

By karmalife on Jun 7, 2007 | Reply
Raquelle, no one can answer that question for you!! What matters is how you feel about yourself and whether or not your are healthy.
Besides, people distribute weight so differently. Someone at the same height and weight as you might look completely different, have more or less muscle and wear a larger or smaller size.
This is an impossible question to ask over the internet. According to BMI and medical standards, you are very far from being overweight. You are most probably feeling “sooo big” because you were 16 pounds lighter before (and technically, rather underweight).

I think she looks fantastic and very fit. She is not too thin in the least. I’m 43 too, Jodi - exercise is great for the mind and body as long as it’s a healthy amount and not the obsessive over excercising which alot of stars seem to get into. Kelly’s legs are beautifully toned. I think the one thing she should change would be to cut down on the tanning.

I think she looks fantastic. I hate her personality (or lack thereof, she seems like a major b*tch to me) and yes, she DEFINITELY works hard to keep this body up. Which is probably why she is such a b*tch, and so self-deprecating.

Karmalife, that is absolutely ridiculous. I am a gym rat and very tiny but muscular.I have never ever taken any sort of supplement in my life except for my daily multi-vitamin. I do not lift heavy weights. In my case it is genetic. I don’t have to work out hard If I starting adding any heavy weights, I get to muscular and have to back off . She is far from sterroid big. I laughed out loud when I read that statement. She is just toned. Why is it so hard for people to believe that with a proper diet, cardio and strength training, you can have a fit body??
By Lilith on Jun 7, 2007 | Reply
I’m with Anon and Jodi too! Perhaps this is an age thing: I’m 41 and am working to stay strong, with good bone density and muscle tone for the next half (hopefully) of my life. Weight training is the way to go for that, not being anorexically thin with neither muscle nor fat. She could carry a bit more fat on the hips and legs, but probably doesn’t want it where it might tend to go: the waist.
Perhaps the young girls/women who comment don’t want to look at all muscular because it puts the skinny ‘boys’ off, while we older women with buff men in our lives can afford to look stronger? Anyway, we know that it is absolutely essential for osteoporosis prevention.
She could do with more waist definition and a flatter tummy - some stomach vacuum exercises could help.

Kelly looks emaciated (I.M.O.) on some days (when I see her on TV on ” Live With Regis & Kelly “. If she looks so super, super thin on TV (which adds 10 pounds); she must be QUITE “uber-skinny” in person! Some days she looks a bit more normal (just thin, and not emaciated) when they ‘dress’ her in outfits that are sort of “blousy” / “loose-hanging” or in a top and slacks that are different colors. It sort of “cuts” her in half and she looks a bit wider around the middle. Most of the time, however, she looks so “boney” !!! It doesn’t help that she wears 5 or 6 inch heels which make her legs “elongagated”; but ,it also makes her taller and her “thinness” more highly emphasized. I don’t like the way she has over-toned her arms and upper body though. It doesn’t coincide with the remainder of her body. In spite of that, she is quite pretty …especially at 36 years old.
By Claudia on Jun 8, 2007 | Reply

you can’t be serious saying she looks like a man and must have done steriods??? women who are very lean can have veins buldge out (angelina) and if you are super skinny, you will naturally look muscular! (nicole richie sometimes looks ripped) she is probably only about 90 lbs!! Her one arm is holding a bag that is as big as she is, so that will make all her muscles show too. My gosh, do you think women should just be waifs with no definition at all.
By Karmalife on Jun 8, 2007 | Reply
Christine- I stand by my opinion, and that’s exactly what it is; an opinion.
Having been a personal trainer in the past and very active myself I, I personally find that I have good judgement when I look at someone can can determine whether or not their body is sculpted due to genetics and hard work or with a little bit of added help. I may be wrong, of course. But I highly doubt it.
By Karmalife on Jun 8, 2007 | Reply
p.s. And there are steroids out there that, taken at the right amounts, will not make you “steroid big” as you put it, but instead will make you very lean, lose weight and give the the exact look that Kelly has. I did not say she looked like a body builder. I think she looks amazing!!

I am sexy. So is she. Some peoples bodies simply respond better to exercise - I can go from untoned arms to arms (almost) like hers in about a week. No joke. I get the bicep vein just like men. Everybody’s body is different. I think that Kelly looks amazing and she’s funny and lives a healthy and clean lifestyle. Go rip on someone salty like Paris, Nicole, or Lindsay!!!

its pretty ridiculous how critical some of you can be, how many times can someone say that not every women is built perfectly or the same, everyone has different genetics and body types. she has a small chest and looks great not everyone needs fake boobs or big hips to look womanly, she’s also petite aka NATURALLY SMALL, and kudos to her and all the other women who work out she looks really healthy and happy. so many of you need to wake up and stop being haters!
*oh and to christy, its kind of hard to target tone your inner thighs, but ive found that by increasing cardio and doing sets of varying lunges, as well as working out on the abductor/adductor leg machines helps a lot , so good luck!

LaLa, you’re HighHigh. Either you’re lying about what your doctor said, or you misinterpreted what she said. Kelly Ripa is not too muscular by anyone’s definition. She’s not training to be in a body building competition, obviously. Please acquaint yourself with the subject matter before you make such erroneous statements. Weight training for women is extremely beneficial on many accounts - too numerous to get into here. And yes, I am a health care professional, so I know what I’m talking about.
Kelly Ripa looks excellent. She quit smoking, she’s thin, she exercises - good for her. Anyone’s veins can protrude at any time, depending on what you’re carrying, your hydration status, and your genetic background.

I’m a 48 year old african american woman who has no family history of heart problem, high blood pressure, diabetes, or strokes…who has the measurements of 90% of the Victoria’s Secret Supermodels. Why? How? Genetics. And I might add I have taken very good care of myself for a very long time…granted it helps being what Rachel McKlish calls “genetically gifted”…I didn’t work out for 8 years and started doing Pilates Yoga and I look FABULOUS! And I don’t have a trainer and don’t go to a gym…I work out 30-45 mins AT HOME! with instruction manuals.
So hate me, OK?
Yes, I am blessed beyound belief, and to honor that I take very good care of myself.
So…does it make me feel good to be able to shop at H&M where the sales people are old enough to be my daughters? Yep. Did I earn it, and am I entiteled to feel good about myself? Yep. Is my body mass ratio is good shape…yep..Is my Dr. impressed…yep. Do I get hated on constantly by women who think I have nothing else better to do with my time then to wake up on a daily basis and come out side just to piss them off? (sigh!)
The realtiy is that the haters are jealous and irresponsible for their physical health, and have low self esteem. Physical exerise helps mind, body and spirit The reality is that if the haters got in shape you actually couldn’t stand being talked about the way you are dogging out Kelly.
Anyway…I’m having some juice just before doing some yog for flexiablity and to continue to decrease my perimenopausal systoms, that being hotflashes, have some healthy breakfast ceral and tons of vitamins!
And trust me, I look fabulous!

Too muscular in the arms, especially the front shot. Not a fan of bicep definition in a woman.

Her upper body looks SO strange.

I think Kelly looks fantastic. She’s self-depricating, amazingly fit (people ought to understand the difference between “definition” and emaciation). In any case, she’s adorable, self-mocking (which goes a long way) and frankly, though straight, I’d go bi for Ms. Ripa. Love her!

Oops…meant to say “self-deprecating”….Fingers got typing too quickly.
Still love Kelly and her gorgeously toned self.
