Eva Longoria Does Some Grocery Shopping

Especially when it is a super-skinny celeb - we have to wonder if they really plan to eat much of anything they are buying.
Anyway, Eva Longoria was spotted at Ralph’s in Los Angeles yesterday, doing some serious food shopping. I’m not sure she eats any of the food she had in her cart however, since a lot of it was canned food and not excessively healthy.
There is… chili, hamburger meat, cheese, lots of canned vegetables, cooking oil, noodles, and other things I can’t identify. It looks like she is planning a barbecue or something.
Or perhaps this is a ruse to stop everyone from talking about how thin she is…?

Oh by the way, how incredibly sad is it that we live in a world where we actually have to ponder the possibility that someone would spend good money to buy foods, and then not eat them, just to stop people from gossipping….

Um, do you not understand that you CAN EAT and still be skinny?? You always comment that celebs prob. don’t eat anything–a lot of people can eat a lot and still maintain a very slim figure.
Wow, in that very last picture there’s a normal human-sized woman in the frame, and that’s where you can tell just how small Eva really is. Holy bones, Batman.
Ya sure, you can eat and still be skinny, but Eva was skinny way before she looked like this. This is not just skinny…this is what-the-hell-are-you-trying-to-prove-you-look-like-an-8-year-old-child skinny. Seriously, does she weigh 80lbs? This is SUCH a lame-ass competition among female celebrities…I truly believe they compete with each other (and don’t admit it) to become the skinniest (and therefore most publicized) female star. LOSERS. Eva had to work her ASS off to lose 10-15lbs on top of what was already a really tiny body.

I’m surprised she didn’t fall over walking in those tall heels. Who knows if she’ll really eat all that food but her husband is a big guy & an athlete, so I’m sure he’ll help her out. I think she looks cute, but the fact that you can see her ribs and her back bones makes her look too thin. Just a little bit of meat and she would still be ridiculously thin, but she wouldn’t look like she never eats.

I also love seeing what stars are buying! (Who wears shoes like that in a grocery store? The lonely housewife looking for love in aisle 5, that’s who.) Who knows what she’ll eat out of all of this - that’s a lot of chili, and I wouldn’t dare eat that amount of chili if I was a newlywed…unless I liked sleeping alone.
I remember Teri Hatcher and her big grocery shopping photo op when the rumors about an eating disorder were all over the papers. She had a cart of all sorts of high calorie things that made me believe even more that she’s a bulimic. These big stars don’t need to do their own grocery shopping - how many times have we seen Eva at Ralphs? My guess is this is the first and last time.

Melissa, she may be taller but that “normal human-sized” woman’s arm looks as thin or thinner than Eva’s! I get what you’re saying I was thinking how big I would seem next to her shopping but bad example.
If I had all that money I certainly wouldn’t be buying canned hormel chili!! I bet it is for a big bbq party though.

IMO, she’s too thin. She’s boney and frail-looking - unflattering look.

Judging by what look to be a stack of those disposable foil trays in the back of her cart, I would definitely go with the BBQ theory.
I’d go with the outdoor party theory. I’ll also say again that you can be that thin and eat what you want. I have the same body type Eva has at this point or when she was a bit thinner right before her wedding, and I eat, and keep it down, and don’t do anything destructive to my body. She is thin, but does not look too thin to me. Some people actually get a faster metabolism when they get older, it’s not usual, but it does happen.
I’m not a big fan of eva but I don’t understand this gossip. also thin people eat in their life!!eva is very thin,she’s photographed with some sort of food so she doesn’t eat anything because she’s thin?why so many people think that everybody have an ED?thin people aren’t all anorexic!

She’s probably throwing a party or something. Most people don’t routinely buy that many groceries all at once unless it’s for some special occasion. I’m guessing she’ll make chili dogs for all her husband’s friends and stuff and maybe eat half a bite of one for herself.
Some of us here in NYC actually go shopping in heels, too.

I 100% agree with ‘Cocottenubs’ - eva was perfect - and she was also super skinny before she lost all this weight - Infact Id always look at her tiny bony arms in the first and second series of Desperate housewifes and wonder whether she ate - but then when ud see her in her bikini, underwear or tight running pants you could see she had a womanly shape - shapely bum and thighs - so her tiny upper half was probs just result of working out - but now - gosh, shes sooo victoria beckham. And yes - if you look at the ‘other woman’ in that pic you can see that she is also really slim - which makes me shudder to think what eva really looks like in real life - Ive been there and done the super hollywood-freaks skinny thing when I was anorexic
last year - and I wrecked my body and my relationship with food forever - if these women want to ruin thier insides (which in the long run are a million times more important than being ‘the skinniest’ of the hollywood set for a few weeks) - let them get on with it - theyre pathetic!

Well her face is still beautiful… but her back is literally concave. It really does take a lot of self-discipline to be that skinny if you’re not on drugs or somethin… But why do some people have SO much resentment towards people who are really thin? Oh, and I guarantee in a couple weeks the tabloids will shift their focus on her, how underweight she is, and how her husband is intervening.

Cocottenubs is right - they DO compete to see who can be skinniest, in the extreme. Mayle also gets it right that it takes a lot of discipline to be that thin (which is why they compete with each other.. I have more discipline than you, blah blah..)
And I have no idea why she is buying this crap, because there is no way in hell she is eating it.

Why do people act surprised when someone actually dresses “up” to go the the store? Have you been to Europe lately? You don’t see women walking around in sweat pants and flip flops like you do here. Personally, I think she looks cute, even if she DOES look like she’s going to topple over in those shoes.

when she is in town she shops at my grocery store and always has a basket full of fresh veggies, steaks, ect…she loves to cook!! I’m telling you…she was making enchiladas for sure!

Karma: them average American girls - especially those on neither coast - aren’t used to dressing presentably for ANYTHING, let alone a trip to the grocery store. Then again, if you had the bodies they did, you’d probably want to dress down too.
i’m thin(5′6′’-5′7′’ and 109-110 pounds) and I eat ice cream every day and pizza three times a week.I love croissant for breakfast and during the winter I eat every day chocolate. my mother before the 2 pregnancy was 49-50 kg and 1.73m and she didn’t stop to eat!!now she’s 45 years old and 56 kg and she eats all she wants when she wants…so thin people can eat normally or much more and rest thin!

I actually think she looks good here. Super-skinny, but it looks natural. She looks healthier than she did around her wedding I think. I love her dress, but the shoes are a little obnoxious.

I’m mexican and know the best ways to cook those dishes but certainly the ingredients are not meant to be taken from a can..

i love the fact that she buys hamburger in tubes! i can’t believe anybody with her money would buy such bad quality meat. kinda makes me think she is cooking an old family favourite?
She looks like she’s with her mom and probably getting ready to make a traditional family recipe or something. A good old-fashioned home cooked meal is just not the same when replaced with today’s low fat, no carb, no taste, no reason to even bother cooking substitutes. Everyone needs one now and then. I’m sure she has a top-notch hollywood diet that she follows, otherwise she wouldn’t look the way she does!

Every month I buy groceries for a family to help them get through the month, my cart usually looks very similar. Canned goods, rice, a lot of non-perishables. My bet is she is doing something similar.
