Jaslene Gonzalez Update
Category: Celebrity Bones, SupermodelsAs many of you may remember, Jaslene Gonzalez, who won the last ANTM contest and is now a Victoria’s Secret model, has had a lot of anorexia rumors surrounding her in recent months because of her drastic weight loss and near-skeletal frame. Then last month, she told everyone that she was not anorexic and was happy with her figure.
So fast forward to now - or rather, a few days ago to the 2007 Teen Choice Awards. Jaslene showed up in a purple dress, looking… well, too thin.
She is definitely going into the Celebrity Skeletons category.
She is far too skinny. She did not look like this in the episodes though…
She looks hot to me.

This has got to be the strongest eating disorder trigger I’ve seen in a long time. The only rational thing I can write is… she’s rockin’ that purple color.

I think she looks disgustingly skinny. There is no beauty to her whatsoever-all she is is a sack of bones. She needs to realize that she is supposed to be a role model to young girls. I’m ashamed at ANTM for making her win.

Oh so sad! She was really skinny on the show as well but I guess she has lost even more? Didnt seem possible. I really loved her personality on the show and was glad she won. Such a spicy latin personality with some sweetness too.
Watched the tv show in marathon form a few wkends ago and she was hatefully beautifully thin on the show. Not boney the way some women get when they’ve lost too much weight. I bet she could eat like a truck driver and still look great, but eats lite and stays super thin.
She’s def lost some weight since the show though.

This girl is perfect….skinny with a big rack!
She’s been this skinny for a really long time, there are girls that naturally are really really skinny. She was this skinny all through her season on the show, and actually had tried out the year before and was just as skinny then. I had a friend once who had to drink protien shakes with cookies to gain weight.
that being said, even if she’s naturally that thin I don’t think it was the wisest choice to make her the ANTM winner…I’d have picked Natasha for sure! And I can’t believe Victoria’s Secret would hire a girl that skinny
she has been that thin since she was on the show, so i dont understand why now its such a big deal. she may have eating problems but its not a new thing that she is extremely skinny.
not too skinny,she’s a model. remember that fashion is a world completely different. models are not common people,they are girls naturally super-thin who eat very small meals so…natural skinny body + low calories diet =jaslene

Her boobs weren’t that big on the show…but maybe it’s just the dress. She is disguistingly skinny. Normal people’s faces don’t sink in that much at the cheeks and head. I was so disappointed in Tyra for being all “i’m not skinny and I like it,” and then picking Jaslene. Renee or Natasha would have been much better choices. This girl’s not even pretty! She’s just skinny. Tyra’s a hypocrite.

I also watched her in the last season of ANTM and I remember thinking that although she was very, VERY skinny, it looked like that was natural for her body type (plus she’s only 20 and her body is still changing). She actually reminds me of my best friend from high school who was also close to being this skinny and she did not have an eating disorder.
I do have to say that she looked awful in the yellow dress photo we saw a while back. I’m glad she picked a “baggier” dress to wear this time. I suppose it hides how thin she really is.
Also- I’m surprised at how many people find her unattractive or call her a “tranny”. I think she has a pretty face and exotic look to her..
I don’t agree with VS models being “curvy” at all. With the exception of Heidi Klum, most of these girls are pretty damn underweight.

When a person’s elbow is the biggest part of their arm-that is not natural. She may have been this skinny for years BUT that doesn’t mean it’s natural. It means she’s had a problem of one sort or another for a long time.
There is nothing pretty or attractive about her and Tyra should be ashamed to have named her ANTM.

I’ll say this again: Some people ARE naturally THIS THIN!!!!!!!! I know this to be true. I am this way, and I have several friends that are this way, and none of us starve or do anything strange with food. We’re all older than Jaslene, and we’ve always had this lightspeed metabolism. Sometimes that’s just the way it is, folks! My mom is in her 70’s and she’s always been this way too. We all have to eat to keep weight on.
Jaslene looks , yes, skinny. That’s obvious. But if you cover up the head the body looks like jessica alba’s! I think she should stop not eating and freaking eat some bread and meat!

I’m very thin too, and its because I have a fast metabolism, not an eating disorder. Calling a thin girl a skeleton is the equivalent of calling a fuller girl fat.

You can’t argue she’s naturally this way when she was definitely bigger in ANTM. No one loses the weight after a television show and says it’s their “normal size.” (I know I wouldn’t gain weight for a television show like that!)
Yeah, she’s a model, but there have been new standards in place in the fashion industry to ensure that they’re at least somewhat healthy (The whole “Your BMI has to be soso in order to do to runway, blah blah blah). I’m sure Victoria’s Secret is smart enough not to send a total skeleton down the runway these days. They know it would make headlines; and not the ones that’ll send the business booming.
Sure, she may look pretty with that dress on. But it reminds me of that white dress Kate Bosworth wore when she was “skeleton skinny.” Imagine all the protruding bones - it isn’t attractive to the mainstream society, nor to the average person. A photo speaks a thousand words, but until you see someone like this in person you’ll be totally setback. In print they look stunning, in reality they just look malnourished.

Maxx05 - the ‘naturally this size’ goes both ways. I dont doubt that its possible to be naturally this thin, why do so many of you doubt or hate thats its possible to be naturally big?
either way, i think she looks too thin here, based on the older photo of her where her skin was hanging off her bones a bit too much. Shes just as thin, if not more thin in this picture.

you don’t understand that fashion world is different to real world.models are all naturally very skinny because it’s very hard for an anorexic stay at her low weight and eating nothing for years and do 20-30 casting,catwalk,travel in a day.there aren’t many anorexic TOP models
the most important stylists don’t work with sick models,super models are (almost) all healthy.these girls are naturally very skinny and yes,probably many models eat little meals but there is a big difference between eat little meals and be anorexic or bulimic
if you aren’t naturally very skinny it’s very hard modelling for more than a year(sorry for my english)
That’s a runway body, definitely, but the face is concentration camp. There’s a uniqueness or an “it factor” thing for runway models’ faces that Jaslene just doesn’t have.

i am so tired of people sayin teeny tiny super skinny people are naturally thin b/c of their high metabolism. i DO have a high metabolism, and i was once that size. the big difference is that I was like 13 years old, and still growing into my body. I took supplements and ate a ton of protein. and guessed what? i gained weight. i went from 80-115 lbs over about 4 years. you all make it sound like it is impossible to gain weight if you have a fast metabolism. it isn’t. and if you have been blessed/cursed with a high metabolism and you are still super skinny, it is by choice! you obviously enjoy being that thin or you would do something about it. anyway, jaslene looks disgusting. she is even skinnier than she was on the show. and I always thought she had a fug face. her features are a bit masucline like a hispanic uma thurman.
i don’t believe that she’s a victoria’s secret model, besides being way too skinny she just doesn’t seem like the girls they normally go for, and i haven’t seen her in any of the cataloges or commercials, i just don’t buy it.

I didn’t grow up with this girl. I didn’t go to any of her schools, so I don’t have any references to her weight except for her appearances on ANTM. Personally, I don’t find her repulsively, sickly thin. She doesn’t have that starving-to-be-thin or excessively overexercised look. She photographs well and is great runway material. That is all.
I’m just glad she wore a dress that covers her chest bones. They really gross me out.

Bella-we’re not all stupid-some of us know more about the fashion and model industry than you give us credit for. The industry is overwrought with eating disorders and drug problems–it’s a known fact. Even Tyra Banks said so on her talk show. That’s why they
imposed a BMI standard (which is a joke if you ask me.) In the last year, I know of at least two Brazilian models who died from their eating disoders. Google it if you don’t believe me.
Most models are not “naturally” thin with high metabolisms. If you believe that then you are more naive than I could imagine.
I’ve had anorexia for more than 10 years and my weight has stayed between 80 and 85 lbs consistently. And I know others like me. It’s not as uncommom as you think.
Maybe she doesn’t have an eating disoder, but she has some kind of problem b/c there is nothing natural about her.

MOO- I know about the brazilian models but they were not top models… I think that ED are really common in “simple models”but not in high fashion world(super models)…maybe many models have an ED but they surely have fast metabolism…do you know super model bianca balti?she comes from a little city near mine and she’s the example of a model who is naturally very skinny(since she was younger)and eats like a normal girl or much more..
and there are many people with fast metabolism,my mother now is slim but before 2 pregnancy was very skinny and she has always eat like a pig,I’m very sure about this!now,at 45 years and 2 children she stays very slim and she eats lots of bread,pasta,pizza,ice cream,croissant,cake ecc…she simply has a very fast metabolism,if she eats less for a day she lost weight quickly.

I can’t help but find her triggering. I know she’s probably sick and I would never want to get to that point health-wise, I think she looks good.
And I’m also really suspicious of somebody who looks that bony claiming to be “naturally skinny”. I was always considered slim at 5′7 and 110 lbs; but at that healthy weight nobody ever commented on how I looked TOO thin. But then I went through an unhealthy phase and lost 15lbs… It wasn’t natural, and I tried to hide it by saying that I was “naturally skinny”, but everyone knew what I looked like at a naturally-skinny- but-healthy-for-me weight. It wasn’t bony.
I have no doubts that Jaslene is naturally skinnier than most girls in America. But this is prolly not what she looks like at that naturally skinny weight. My guess is this is what she looks like when her fast metabolism is coupled with self-starvation.
