Janet Jackson To Write Book About Her Own Weight Struggles

Janet Jackson - who has gone up and down in weight several times in her lifetime - is reportedly now writing a book about her weight struggles.
The star says she wanted to write the book because “so many people have asked me about it and how did I do it,” according to the Associated Press.
“Everybody has a story to tell so this is my little story about that portion of my life,” she added.
I am looking forward to reading it… I just hope she is honest about the weight loss methods she used!

first
Yeah, like she wrote it.
she isnt the greatest role model for people losing weight anyway she is as bad as oprah
Her book goes a little something like this….sometimes, I go for months eating like a total pig and wearing sweatpants. Then, I look in my closet and want to wear a particular outfit and then I decid to call a personal trainer/ nutritionist/ pharmacist over and help me. Within a month, I emerge wearing that outfit. I’m into it for a few months, then I get rid of everyone and sit on my ass some more. Then, the viscious cycle continues…for 20 years!!! Wow, can;t wait to buy THAT book, yawn.
I agree - I don’t think she’s a great role model either. Her weight goes up and down, and I get the feeling she maintains her figure unnaturally.
She goes up and down ALL of the time! I would only read it if she kept the weight off for a really long time, without yo-yoing. I mean, a lot of people lose weight, so I want to read about how someone has kept if off FOR GOOD.
Actually, I do agree with Rian — that’s a shocker! — it’d be interesting to read her book if she’s completely honest about it.
I think that maybe there’s some insight to be found in her ups and downs. Perhaps her book will shed light on what we should not be doing if we want to stay in shape much longer than a few months
But this isn’t a “diet” book…she’s obviously struggling with the weight thing. And that’s why she’s writing about her struggles!!
She obviously doesn’t lose weight in a healthy manner because after she loses a lot of weight she seems to gain it all back. crash dieting is almost impossible to maintain.
…she is the last person I would take diet/exercise advice from. Yo-yo fluctuations are actually more unhealthy than carrying a little extra weight.
I’m facinated by the celebs who have gone drastically up and down the scale (Renee Zellweger, Opra, Janet Jackson etc.) so I look forward to reading her book.
everytime she loses weight shes like “im finally keeping the weight off.” but then she gains it all back
mamalisa you are sooo right!! i cant believe anyone would want to read that.. she pisses me off soo bad… she has a mass of people working for her to help her fat ass look good thats how she did it!
I don’t get it- she is obviously ok with plastic surgery, so why doesn’t she just get liposuction or one of those surgeries that makes your actual stomach pouch smaller?
Whatever. I’m sorry, I’m not saying losing weight is easy for anyone, but come ON. When you have tons of money to hire all the personal trainers, nutritionists, chefs and stylists your heart desires, where’s the difficulty??? I don’t want to hear how Janet or any other major celeb lost weight, because their way is just not realistic for most of the rest of the world.
The book would talk about her struggle not about being a role model
I have had 30 plastic surgeries on my face alone…and I lost all of the weight in a manner that the averige person can also [without personal trainers and special foods prepared by chefs]…I have soooo much willpower and I am gunna share with you how I got it. and how you can achieve this life of unhealthy yo-yo dieting for yourself….I am not making this book [wich by the way I am writing myself] to make even more money, but to help obease america.
janet
She’d never be honest about her weight issues, she never has been! She still has serious issues with binge/dieting, and I’m certain she had some lipo stomach sculpting last spring. Her bodyfat was too high for her to have a chiseled six pack…any book by her is only going to say the same ‘ol “I sometimes over eat, then I get a trainer and work it off” stuff. Right.
Geezzz……..Janet; what’s the title of the book going to be?? “How to loose weight and keep gaining it back over and over again?!!” Lets see if anyone buys her book.
I will laugh so hard if she says she had an eating disorder. Because she never looked anywhere near it.
You can have an ED and still be overweight…anorexia isn’t the only ED out there. If she’s bulimic or has a form of binge eating disorder or something, there’s a good chance she could have had an eating disorder in the past. I’d be interested in this book if she is indeed honest about her struggle. I want to know why she had surgery done on her ab muscles back in the day. I also don’t have a lot of sympathy for celebs that whine and bitch about being out of shape when they have absolutely every resource there for them: personal trainers, nannies to watch their kids, personal chefs, Zone diets delivered to them, etc. Heck, I lost 90 lbs on my own…no plastic surgery, no special foods (well, I cut out the crappy foods), and a pair of good running shoes.
kels: Having an eating disorder is not necessarily apparent based on someones appearance. An unhealthy relationship with food is internal and not always apparent to others. Based on Janet’s continual rapid weight gain and loss, she may very well have a binge eating disorder and then restricts severely when she wants to lose.
Hmmm. I doubt she’s writing this to give “sound” “healthy” advice on weight loss. I think this book is just going to be about her weight struggles… I can see it from the excerpts. For those of you who say you wouldn’t take diet tips from her, I don’t think that was her whole point. I think she just wants to share her experiences, good or bad… We all know she’s yo-yo’d in weight all of her life… read it with a grain of salt.
Yeah, she takes things to the extreme all the time!! I bet she works out like a madwoman and starves herself for all the wrong reasons - just to look good for a premier, album release, or just to wear a certain outfit… geez, no wonder she’s lost and gained so much in her life.
what is the book about? Binge eating, plastic surgery or how easy it is to loose weight with personal trainers, personal chefs and lipo?
she is the definition of unhealthy. It is better to stay fat, than put your heart under the pressure of gaining/losing weight over and over.
She look amazing now. This dress is the perfect look for her…..no ab flashing.
WHO CARES? Who cares? WHo cares about this annoying woman? Why would anyone read a book about another person who can’t lose or even maintain their weight for that matter? Ugh she is so annoying.
She’s a PIG!!!!!!!!!!!
After what she did at that Super Bowl half time show, I don’t care what she does.
oh yes she really thinks everybody cares about her weight? maybe i am the one person who doesnt care
get outta town., she has personal trainers, chefs, the works. no excuses.
The only reason I would read it would be to see what lengths she actually went to to lose the weight so quickly. That’s just not natural, and I’m sure she knows it, too.
Janet can be so hot when she has a little self-discipline. She has the money to be catered to and can afford a personal chef, personal trainers, nutritionist etc. to help her get back down to her sexy self. Not sure how her book will help the average individual.
She has such a lovely waist… Shame she had to do *that* to her face though.
Anyway I tend to look at excess weight as a symptom, not a problem - her weight is obviously a symptom of a bad relationship with food. Until she fixes that (and that means gradually slimming down, not a POOF! I’m skinny in two months! miracle), she will continue to yo-yo.
Can we have some pictures of Christina Ricci? Pretty please?
what could she possibly write that people don’t already know
about her yo-yo wieght
she has a very fat woman dying to get out, who the public get to see when paparrazi gets pics of her when she isn’t promoting an album or film
what else is there to add??
she looks like michael. scary.
She needs to go for a fucking run and eat right.
She needs to go for a bloody run. and stop complaining.
A lot of people wrongly believe that the only eating disorders worth acknowledging are anorexia and bulimia. The reason such ignorance exists is perhaps because binge eating never inspired as much sympathy as self imposed starvation.
Of course one can never be too sure that Janet is indeed a compulsive binge eater. However, all signs point towards some sort of issue with food, which gets pushed aside during certain periods of her life, mainly when she’s tending to career affairs.
Asuka, wanting food is so much easier than not wanting/not being hungry, the latter is against nature..This is why we sympathize and wonder too, how those people can be so hard on themselves and do it..
Forget the weight part.
What I wanna know is what workouts she does to get those rock-hard abs AFTER she loses the weight.
I agree, Frankie. It is certainly easier to be shocked by extreme thinness too when you consider that it’s much rarer than the opposite.
Oh and I thought the six pack abs are result of plastic surgery? Unless her skin has remarkable elasticity to bounce back and forth and emerge that toned after all the ups and downs.
yes i hope she is honest too - but i don’t expect it after hiding a husband for years! i hope it’s not a diet or how to lose weight and get in shape book because i don’t feel that she is a good role model for that sort of thing - her weight balloons and then she gets it all together for a brief period of time, then she goes off her programs again - it’s the same as oprah giving diet advice when she can’t stick to a diet - but i do like her reason for writing a book
More appropriately, “Janet Jackson Struggles to Write”.
Mamalisa you are so right!!!! Lets see - chapter 1 - binge eat/sweats. Chapter 2 - colonics, starvation, lipo,tight clothes. Chapter 3 - see chapter 1. Chapter 4 - see chapter 2……
Why buy the book when it’s always in the tabloids anyway??
No way will she be honest, Rian. To do that she’d have to admit to plastic surgery. Even if diehard fans want to say she’s never had nips or tucks before the second-to-last most recent weight loss, there’s no way a woman of her age drops 60+ lbs in a short amount of time and gets a tummy like the one she was rocking. Not saying lipo or tummy tucks are bad, hey do what makes you feel good, especially if you can afford it, but I hate it when celebs lie about it.
Working title, “How to lose some weight, then gain it back, turn into a complete joke, then repeat steps 1 and 2 indefinitely.”
I JUST DON´T WANNA KNOW!!
get a life jackson….
Spare me. There’s enough shit out there about losing weight. Exercise, eat properly, yada, yada. Don’t keep buying this weight loss shit.
It’s a billion dollar industry because people won’t twig to the fact that there’s no magic bullet.
Book will be on the bargain table in no time at all and it still won’t sell.
losing weight is hard and very time consuming for most people, especially someone with her status…I jus think she needs to find a healthy weight range for her height and buy her clothes to accordingly….around 145-155lbs would be a good range for her…..not fat nor skinny, just shapely and curvy
Hello, nice site
Wow you people should leave Janet alone, she looks great and has a great figure for now so that is all that matters. I wont purchase the book but that is only because I dont believe in caring about celebrities weight issues and such. I am not even sure if she loses her weight naturally or has it sucked out of her. Therefore I cannot determine if what works for her would work for other people. I already yo-yo myself so lol no need to be told by someone else. My yo-yo is pretty tight though I stay in a specific range! She looks pretty though, she got hella skinny madd fast on us.
I’d prefer reading in my native language, because my knowledge of your languange is no so well.
