Pete Doherty Piles On The Pounds After Rehab

Pete Doherty recently spent about a month in rehab for drug addiction. (What IS it with celebs and drugs?!) Since his release, he has been spotted around London looking several pounds heavier.
Some tabloids and blogs are speculating that he has traded his drug addiction for a food addiction… what do you all think? Personally, I don’t think he looks THAT big. As we’ve seen with several celebs like Lindsay and Britney, it’s quite normal to gain some weight after rehab. After all, your body needs to adjust to food.
people gain weight in rehab hopefully he’ll make some music and stay clean and semi-healthy
Celebs = Drugs because there is so much MONEY involved…I mean LOTS AND LOTS of money. People with LOTS of money have access to ANYthing.
i think the reason he looks big is just because he was so tiny before.
but objectively i don’t think he’s that big…
What the hell? Does he have that same outfit in two different sizes? If he gets even larger, is his closet already equipped to handle it?

as far as why celebrities use drugs… most celebs are narcissitic… as in the DSM4 diagnosis of Personality disorder. Most people with these types of disorders use substances because their brains aren’t wired right to begin with.

he is bloated looking, but that is because he is coming off coke. I’m sure his normal weight is somewhere between the two.

He was on heroin and when you are coming off of heroin your body craves sugar so ofcourse he would gain weight…but I think he is an idiot and an arrogant jerk.

kate moss is so much better than him! I can’t believe the model she chose to represent her line at Topshop betrayed her like that. I would never disrespect Kate. Anyway who cares about his weight gain I kept expecting to log onto one of these gossip websites and read that he was dead. I have recovered from drug addiction too. I gained some weight which I have lost I’m a small person, but looking back I was lucky to escape with my life and I can’t believe I ever did the things I did. So I hope he stays clean and on the right path. By the way why do websites and tabs lash out at celebs for being too fat then too skinny then when they clean up and take care of themselves its lash out about weight gain? WTF?

I think this is a good sign. It may mean he actually managed to stop his drug and alcohol usage. He’s been in rehab before, I believe, but never gained any noticeable amount of weight from it..

This is really nothing to even make a post about if u ask me. He’s eating and has extende his approximate lifetime with about 40 years. Good for him!
this guy is so gross to me. it always looks as though he hasn’t showered or brushed his teeth in weeks… and his clothes always look a mess.
and how hard is it to find a hat that fits his head??

I’m REALLY glad for him. And I don’t care whether or not he has gained weight. He is clean now, and looks a lot happier. That’s what’s important.

Ugh I just want to give him a shower!!! Just throw him in a shower and leave him for a little while, then give him a haircut and a bed to sleep in and leave him there for a couple of weeks while he recouperates. Sheesh!
He has gained weight, and it’s probably for the better. He was looking really thin.
I can’t believe how big he got. Guess its cause he’s eating more regularly now that he isn’t using. Still, its nuts.

Drugs make you skinny. If he didn’t gain wait, I’d suspect that Rehab did absolutely nothing for him.
He’s kind of attractive when he’s thin. Also, to gb, methadone maintenance is the most effective way to kick a heroin addiction. I’m in psych, and I’m starting my Masters in drug rehabilitation. Most addicts who try to kick the habit cold turkey fail, so if that’s what he needs, then so be it.
I could care less if he gets fat or not. He’s ugly, disgusting and what the hell is he even famous for? Thank heavens Kate Moss got rid of this loser.
people start to eat when they are not doing drugs. that is always what happens. when they are doing drugs they choose sugary foods once a day and nothing any other time. same cycle, different druggie…

i like him pudgy. kate wanted him “rexy” ( anoroexic sexy.) which to me means skinny but not starving.
He looks better than he did when he was superskinny. At least he’s off drugs now though…that’s more important than being thin. I think if you’re f-ed up on drugs, you should first get sober/clean and THEN focus on getting to a good healthy weight. It’s just way too hard to do both at once.

Drugs speed up the metabolism and when they quit they gain all weight and sometimes they even take many sweets to help with drug cravings.

Drugs mess up your system. A person whose body is used to drugs will often gain weight as the body gets used to functioning normally again. Some weight gain is much healthier than hard drugs. And it can always be tempered once a person is detoxed enough and has enough enegery.
