Victoria Beckham Annoys Barneys

October 26th, 2007 by Rian | Filed under Celebrity Bones, Victoria Beckham.

The ever-skinny Victoria Beckham - whom I can’t help but like (after seeing her reality TV show), has reportedly annoyed the Barneys department store staff.

mr_fp_164659.jpg

First, she buys tons of designer outfits. Then, she has them resized to fit her tiny frame - a size 00. THEN, she returns a good many of them.

And the store cannot just put altered, custom-fitted clothing back out on the floor. Especially since they were made so tiny to fit Victoria’s near emaciated frame.

Victoria is said to have a 23″ waist and is currently on a strict diet for the Spice Girls Reunion tour. She eats high-protein and low carb foods such as sushi and edamame beans. (Ew).

What do you all think - IF this story is true, do you think Victoria should be allowed to return her tiny, custom-fitted clothing for a refund? You would think the store wouldn’t accept altered clothing for a return… (and furthermore, why is she returning all the clothing?) I can’t help but think this story is totally made-up.

fake

2. Emerald | 26/10/07

Totally fake.
That’d be ridiculous if they allowed her to return the items. There’s no way!

3. sophie | 26/10/07

fake

4. Caroline | 26/10/07

Sushi and edamame beans are “ew” gross? Do you live off of Doritos and Mountain Dew (uh, ew) or something?

5. over it | 26/10/07

anyone who is over the age of 12 and wears a 00 has an eating disorder… end of story…

6. saffron | 26/10/07

She’s not a 00.

7. saffron | 26/10/07

00? Sick!

8. ally | 26/10/07

ummm sushi and edamame are really good. That was a really horrible ‘ew’…. i wish i could live off those foods

9. Maxx05 | 26/10/07

I’m over people thinking you can’t be a 00 naturally, over it. I’m 44 in 2 weeks, and I am quite naturally and normally this size, no batteries, or eating issues included. Not manufactured by Mattel. I doubt this story is true, you can’t return things once they have been altered, however, she can send them to ME! I’d be happy to wear them!

10. Rian | 26/10/07

Sorry, ally, I gag when I try and eat sushi. (I wish I liked it since it is so low-cal and healthy).

11. summer | 26/10/07

I LOVE sushi… I havent had the edemame beans… But either way. I am only 5′0″ and a small frame, so I completely understand being naturally small. The story is probably fake.

12. andrea | 26/10/07

sushi and edamame are delicious! not all sushi is raw, most places cater to the faint-of-stomach and have a few choices with no raw fish. If I had money coming out my orifices I would eat sushi every day. Alas, grad student=poor.

Women (OVER 12!!) absolutely can be a size 00. Tons of women are. They are Real women. Sure, some of them have EDs, some are naturally very thin. People come in different shapes and sizes and to say that the very thin aren’t valid people smacks of jealousy, if you ask me.

No way you can have clothes altered and then return them. She’s famous, right? Famous=money, DONATE the clothes or auction them and give the money to charity. All the very poor REAL women who are size 00 would enjoy them, I am sure.

13. Becky | 26/10/07

I tried sushi once and hated it, lol.

Is she really a 00? Yes, she’s quite slim, but I woulodn’t really think she’s that slim. Guess it’s possible though.

14. Kimberly | 26/10/07

I’m guilty of being a Victoria Beckham fan too! Haha. I don’t think this story’s true, or I hope not. Maybe it’s tweaked a little to make it sound more ridiculous than it was. 23-inch waist!?! How perfect! I want my waist that size. I wish I had her body!

15. Kimberly | 26/10/07

Oh, and how can you hate sushi and edamame?!

16. elyse | 26/10/07

i used to work at a sushi restaurant and a lot of obviously anorexic girls would come in and order sushi and i would overhear them talking about how low calorie it was. unfortunately for them, they’d always order the really fatty rolls with high fat fish, cream cheese, or deep fried things in them, which is not so low calorie, is it? sushi rice is also NOT low carb; it is white rice and they put sugar in it. that is why it tastes better than regular rice.

17. Kimberly | 26/10/07

Sorry…last post: I was on a high-protein diet and ate cottage cheese, sashimi (raw fish used for sushi), and edamame ONLY. It was a filling, yummy diet. I also exercised a bunch. Unfortunately, I still wasn’t nearly as skinny as Victoria!

18. Kimberly | 26/10/07

Elyse, I’m of Japanese descent, so I can tell you that it’s rice vinegar they put in the rice. Well, that’s what’s in authentic Japanese sushi rice. Maybe non-Japanese restaurants use sugar, but that’s disgusting.

19. Maxx05 | 26/10/07

Thank you, andrea! Last time I checked I was definitely a real woman. I pinched myself and the sting felt real to me. I think that is supposed to be the test.

20. michelle c | 26/10/07

Elyse I was thinking the same thing as you. I sometimes make my own sushi, I feel a bit guilty when i throw a couple of teaspoons of sugar and salt and sushi wine vinegar, I don’t really understand how it can be so low sugar, but it tastes really yummy.

21. Yuppers | 26/10/07

There are plenty of women that are naturally size 23 waist, and smaller. Don’t accuse everyone of having an eating disorder. Everyone preaches about size acceptance, but it seems to only apply to heavier people.

By the way, I don’t think VB is the kind of woman to return clothes. I bet she has massive rooms filled with all the stuff she buys.

22. silvershadow | 26/10/07

sounds like crap…
she doesnt look 00.

Who CAREs if she a 00?? Really, if she is. well thats just damn unhealthy for her height. And if she is and people are going crazy about it well isnt that what SHE WANTS???

23. Jodi | 26/10/07

You don’t have to say “beans” after “edamame”. That’s like saying “flounder fish”.

24. Kxm24 | 26/10/07

I Looove edamame! I could totally live off of it.

25. Girly Girl | 26/10/07

She’s skinny, but doesn’t look like a 00 to me.

Sushi is not low carb, as someone said. There is nothing low carb about rice.

26. mimi | 26/10/07

I’m from Europe and I’m not much failiar with that size 00….Which size doeas it correspond to? And what are its measurements - hips, waist, etc.
On Victoria’s subject -that story sounds quite fabricated to me…Barnys would never allow her to return them. The extend to which some people make up sotries is ridiculous.

27. felix | 26/10/07

Fake. I don’t think she’d return the for a refund, like she misses the money? What?! None of that story makes sense!

28. breads | 26/10/07

00 is UK 2
there aren’t size 2 for adults in most designer stores even in the UK, it really doesn’t exist
and please anyone that small has an ED
we all know about american dodgy sizing, i can fit a US2 skirt, dresses etc yet i am a UK10
so the women who claim to be 00, you either realy a 00 with an EDor (it sold to you by your stores to make you feel better since so many are soo fat) american sizing is well and truly messed up
you would have to be a of oriental heritage with the body proprtions of a (-)12yr old which many do have for me to believe you maintain that size without having issues per say

29. amma | 26/10/07

…I like Victoria, probably because she annoys so many others and she seems like a good mom. And unlike a lot of other skinnies out there, she clearly works slavishly to maintain her 00. Obsessive, yes. Would I do it, no. But she’s an adult and that is her taste…clearly she doesn’t have an eating disorder because they don’t have to diet: they just throw it up or don’t eat it in the first place. She’s just a compulsive fashion-slave-dieter. I get it.
The story is totally made up. I, like a lot of others, have had things from Nordies resized…and they absolutely do not take such items back. If it’s missing tags, been altered, worn or laundered, it is not returnable. For anyone.

30. delizas | 26/10/07

I just don’t believe lady Beckham is a size 00. I mean, yeah she is skinny but , no I just don’t think she is. And what size she is is far off my mind, i could care less. Anyway, I think she is so funny ..although she did call her housekeeper “fat” once…

31. SkinnyEater | 26/10/07

Andrea, you rock! Can I be your groupie? :)

32. mimi | 26/10/07

thank you, breads.
So, basically it turns out that to wear size 00 one must have a 22 waist and 30 hips, right? Or at least that’s how I inerpreted things. If it really corresponds to THE UK 2, which to be honest I have never seen…
And if that’s really true, I definitely don’t think Victoria is 00, although she’s very skinny.

33. Laura | 26/10/07

I think she should donate them to a charity auction or something. Plenty of people would want old celebrity clothes as some kind og collector’s item. Returning altered clothes is just tacky.

34. sarahj | 26/10/07

She needs to eat a more well balanced diet to live… sushi and edamame are both good to eat but don’t provide enough nutrition.

If you look at women who’ve always been naturally thin, you’ll see that they eat what they want but only in smaller portions, and in moderation. What Victoria is doing is extreme!

And on a side not, WHY do people come on this site to talk about themselves? We come here to gossip about celebrities, we don’t care about you… it’s so annoying to see immature grown women have to justify their weight to a bunch of people on line… it’s pathetic…

35. mazz | 26/10/07

I love sushi!
What size would size 00 be in Australian sizing??

36. Fluffy | 26/10/07

No, she shouldn’t be allowed to return altered clothes.
Btw, edamame is one of the most popular foods in Japan. It’s both delicious and healthy, I could definitely live off that!

37. Sara Pulis | 26/10/07

*If* this story is true (which I doubt because why would a filthy-rich woman need to return clothing?), then she should not be allowed to return the duds unless they were defective somehow.

38. Bobbi | 26/10/07

Years before there was this whole size 0 media frenzy there were shops selling clothes made for women with 23 inch waists and smaller. They weren’t “special” shops or anything. They weren’t called size 0 or 00 so nobody kicked up a fuss.

Yes, women can be all shapes and sizes and some are naturally what we now call 00 so saying that they aren’t “real” women is as insensitive as saying someone with a 40 inch waist isn’t a “real woman”.

I think why people say Victoria isn’t a real woman is because she isn’t naturally that size. She has worked very hard to get so thin so she isn’t accepting her real shape.

I thought she came across as obnoxious and hypocritical and fake beyond belief on her show. She works so hard to maintain that aloof, bored, miserable face that she is photgraphed with all the time but on her show she seemed desperate to seem like she was fun and peppy.

39. Erica | 26/10/07

Whoa, those pants she has on are really baggy in that pic. I don’t think they would let her return altered merchandise. A 23 waist is sick.

40. ValerieSara | 26/10/07

SARAHJ…
why is it pathetic that women come on here and talk about themselve? I think it’s pathetic that you come on here and tell us what you think about women who talk about themselves. Who cares what you think, no offense.
Anyways, I’m a US size 00 and a UK size 2 and I don’t have an eating disorder. I have 4 healthy kids and with each one I gained 40 pounds, nursed them for 1.5 to 2.5 years and lost all the weight within 6 months of giving birth. I’m 5′2″ and 100 pounds. Not every size 00/2 has an ED. Do I eat like a pig? No and neither do my husband or my children and we’re all healthy thank God.
I think this Posh “returns” story is probably not true. But I’d bet that she’s a size 00-especially if she’s 5′3 as she stated in an interview years ago.

41. Lisa | 26/10/07

A 23 inch waist is not sick. I used to have one, but now I’m in perimenopause and it’s 25″. I’m not even that small, I’m a size 4-6. I seriously doubt VB is a size 00. Maybe just in vanity size or in her own brain.

42. anon | 26/10/07

^mazz: I have no idea, but I think 00 is a 23 inch waist and probably around 32-33 inch hips.

BTW, I do think Victoria looks like a 00 because I’m a 0 and she looks waaaaaay skinnier than me!

43. jacky | 26/10/07

She is so skinny ! I don’t think she returns altered clothes either. I don’t think she can. And if she hasn’t a ED, she certainly doesn’t enjoy eating or sharing a meal with friends. She must control every bit of food that she eats. And that is not healthy in my opinion.

44. aadb | 26/10/07

I think this story is made up. The way she is such a slave to fashion I don’t think she would do this for fear of embarrassment. Just think $250 plus whatever they had together before plus whatever she is making off the whole spice reunion. She has no worries over clothing she decides she doesn’t like. Now doesn’t everyone remember when she was in the spice girls. She had such a great body and she was a lot bigger than now. I honestly think her losing so much weight has to do with her husband she is probably scared he will not find her attractive esp. with all the women he has chasing after him and that ho that supposedly had a fling with him. Lastly there is nothing wrong with a woman of any size as long as she is healthy. When I was in high school I our counselor was so cute and petite probably the smallest woman I had seen. She was like maybe 4′11. Some women can be that size and not be unhealthy. My mom also has a similar body type and I am taller and athletic and have always been so jealous.

45. LA | 26/10/07

I LOOOOVE her pants!!! Does anyone have any info on what they are?????

46. charlotte | 26/10/07

I don’t think it’s true because I don’t think there’s a size difference between Victoria and any other slender celebrities.

47. Maxx05 | 26/10/07

I haven’t bought anything that says “size 00″ per se , but I take size 23 in jeans like Hudson and Paper, Denim & Cloth, and Adriano Goldschmied’s narrow cut jeans. My hips to fit this size, (for the person who was wondering about hip size for size 00) are a tad under 31″. I do not have an eating disorder for whomever is assuming that an adult at this size must have one - sorry, you’re incorrect. I know plenty of naturally thin women that eat normally and don’t have to diet. Some work out, some don’t. Not all skinny women are ill, sorry to break your bubble, kids. Some of us can eat and never worry about gaining weight, so go pound sand. I’m sick of this CR@P.

48. WendyB | 26/10/07

I love the comment that made the point about “flounder fish.” Ha! And I agree that the story sounds made up.

49. Areeya | 26/10/07

i luv sushi!

50. cecilia | 26/10/07

she cant even dress so people wouldnt want the clothes no matter the size.

51. kh | 26/10/07

this can’t be true. she doesn’t need to return clothes…her husband can afford them with his $80 million dollar soccer contract

52. blabla | 26/10/07

i don’t think about her. she’s very ugly.

53. JuicyyyChica08 | 26/10/07

a 00!!!!!are u serious the last time i was that size i was 12!!!!!!dats ridiculous!!!!=0

54. Robin | 26/10/07

I just read that the diet Katie Holmes and Victoria Beckham is on is called the Flavour Point Diet. They are supose to eat foods with little or no flavor.

55. Moi | 26/10/07

She is common, why are we even talking about her?! In that last photo she is the quintessential Essez girl, i.e. trash.

56. Jenna | 26/10/07

Say what you want about her, but she’s become a fashion icon and has really strong willpower..how many people out there can maintain a 23 inch waist? i’ve been on a diet inspired by hers…alot of sushi, eggwhites, fruits, and veggies and my body has never looked better.. she really knows what shes doing

57. E | 26/10/07

I love Victoria! I would kill for her tiny little figure!!

58. Kittah | 27/10/07

I also never tried sushi..it’s because I can’t stand rice. Love raw fish though.

59. me | 27/10/07

she’s not a 00 and someone over the age of 12 at size 00 doesn’t automatically have an eating disorder. you’re just jealous cause youre fat.

60. cassy_b | 27/10/07

HEY MAZ.. A US 00 IS AN AUSTRALIAN SIZE 4

I DONT KNOW ABOUT YOU BUT IVE NEVER COME ACROSS ANYTHING SMALLER THAN A 6 IN AUSTRALIAN SHOPS

61. cassy_b | 27/10/07

HEY MAZ…
A US SIZE 00 = AUSTRALIAN SIZE 4

IVE NEVER EVER SEEN A SHOP DOWN HERE SELLING SIZE 4 CLOTHES

62. cassy_b | 27/10/07

damn..posted twice..i suck

63. Frankie | 27/10/07

maybe part of the story is true..there is no fume without fire..

64. Frances | 27/10/07

Well… Banana Republic (who by all accounts sizes big) has a size 00P as 23″ waist and 32½” hips.
Gap (who also size big) however have a size 0 as 23¼” Waist & 33¼”Hips.

I am 32, 5ft tall have a 21¾” waist and 32″ hips. I live in the Uk and I either have to get children’s clothes (usually age 12) or a size 4 from Topshop. The problem is that in most shops sizes vary slightly depending on the cut & style of the item and a size 4 can be a bit big for me (particularly around the waist). Based on experience, I’d say that a UK size 4 is a US vanity size 00.

I disagree with people who say it’s unnatural for a grown woman to have a 23″ waist or smaller. I have always had a small waist and it’s so hard to find clothes that fit it properly. People should stop comparing women to girls are they have different shapes. For a girl and woman with the same waist measurement you will find that a girl will have much narrower hips!

65. Shelle | 27/10/07

A few years ago a size 6 in UK shops was considered tiny and you could hardly find any of them because there are not very many people that are naturally that petite. Vanity sizing has gone crazy both in the UK and US. I also think our issues with food are getting worse, more people either seem to have borderline EDs or are obese, there are fewer people fitting into a ‘normal’ category in between. I feel sorry for her, she must be doing herself a lot of damage long term maintaining this weight. Remember she is quite tall, by the looks of her she can’t be much over 100 pounds. I always thought she looked fine in the spice girl days when I would say she was a UK 8.

66. Frankie | 27/10/07

by the way I have just read now that one of the things she dislikes the most is sushi..
beside being called “vicky” and smiling a lot..
Weird huh?

67. Poppet | 27/10/07

What a crock of shit. There’s no way that’s tru and as small as she is, I don’t think she’s a 00.

68. Mary | 27/10/07

A real woman can naturally and healthily have a 23 inch waist and a 32 inch hip… but it isn’t common anymore, because women are taller and have wider rib cages and hip bones than 100 years ago. Plus women no longer wear corsets. So, most women shouldn’t be a size “00″ after they hit puberty… but some will, and lucky for them designers design mostly for them (unlucky for all of us with wider hip bones, though)

69. mimi | 27/10/07

Frances, if the information you provided is true, I wouldn’t say 00 is that incredibly small. And those claiming women who are 00 are all eating disordered are simply ignorant. I think anyone who is from 4 ft something to 5 ft 5 can be 00 without necessarily having an ED.
Frances, I don’t generally agree with your statement about the different shape of women and girls - as everything else this also varies and is highly individual. It is not always true that women have wider hips, there are many who don’t have a defined waistline and have narrower hips at the same time. I’m 19 and my waist is 25-6 inches, while my hips are only 31.5. I know many would consider this disproportional, but there a lot of women out there who have similar proportions.

70. mimi | 27/10/07

OH, I fogot to say - judjing by these meaurements I think Victoria may really be a 00. Especially having in mind she is shortish.
And Shelle, she is definitely not tall - she’s around 5 ft 4 if not 5ft 3 and so she can easily be 100 lbs and size 00.
Other than that I am sure that story above is fabricated.

71. breads | 27/10/07

you can be a 00, without an ED if your the hieght of a small child and have the proportions to boot, so basically you would have to be the hieght of a 12yr old to mainatain such a body
many women do have such shapes (they look so fragile, like you wouldnt want to hug them incase you break them and kinda not there, as there isnt much of them)
i do feel rather sorry for them
being very short can’t be fun especialy when shopping, but then again i have a strong preference for more height over the short variety
many women in the past may have been very small and short, but being tall and slim just looks better in clothes than short and slim (to me)
and where is the fun in buying kids clothes?? apart from its tax free, there just isnt much choice

72. breads | 27/10/07

ps i dont know why every one thinks designers desgns mostly for very thin women, most designer stores have clothes up to UK12
i see nothing wrong with that
and if anything, designers of the peg is made for tthe taller woman more than the short, who have to constantly wear mini skirtsand heels as not to appear swamped by clothes
when you see the winter desgns with jodhopurs and lonnd coats buy that of the peg for a short woman and a tall one of thesame shape and the taller woman will look much better

73. Charli | 27/10/07

Who cares what size she is, its her body she can be what size she wants to be.

74. Jodi | 27/10/07

breads, we don’t call people “Oriental” anymore. That’s reserved for rugs.

75. Violet | 27/10/07

To all those who think VB is naturally this thin - go and find some pics of her when she first started in the spice girls - she was gorgeous and had a womanly, curvy figure around a UK10 - 12 (US 6-8) and was miserably bulimic (not sure she has ever admitted this, but according to friends). Their manager told her she was fat and should lose weight, what a c***. She works hard at her diet to maintain this barbie doll frame.

76. Ailsa | 27/10/07

The story doesn’t sound that plausible to me, but i could be wrong.

In my opinion, it sounds like Victoria has an unhealthy relationship with food (she has admitted in the past that her obsession bordered on anorexia at one point) as she clearly maintains her very low body weight by restricting her food intake. As she is currently underweight, and is not naturally this thin (think back to her Spice Girls days), i would say that it is definitely not healthy.

However, she is not completely wasting away (yet) and appears to have enough energy to live her life normally (and has not collapsed as far as i’m aware) so i suppose her lifestyle is maintainable in the mean time.

Her job is to be a style icon and to look good, and this is what she has chosen- she is clearly very determined and has worked hard to get where she is now. She is a good mother, and from what i have seen, is a nice person, so i don’t think she deserves all the criticism she receives.

She actually comes across as somewhat insecure (she thinks she’s ugly, finds it difficult to accept her ‘natural’ body shape) when not looking like a stuck up cow in photos and i can’t help but like Victoria Beckham.

77. anelej | 27/10/07

i would say fake. but who knows?
anyways, it wouldnt be polite.

78. Fluffy | 27/10/07

I don’t think she can be a sushi diet and maintain such a slim figure. Sushi is after all 80% carbs… Unless she eats very little of it.
Many people have the misconception that sushi is low-cal, but to be VB-thin, one probably has to be on a diet where sushi is considered a “splurge”.

79. Fluffy | 27/10/07

^^
Sorry, I meant most people (those who aren’t naturally skinny) have to be on an extremely restricted diet to be as thin as VB.

80. pepy | 27/10/07

fake or not what’ s the matter? she is the princess of nothing! She does nothing in her life except of being Beckham’ s wife.So what? Why you pay attention to her?I never understand! All off you should stop giving value to a mediocrity like she is! Victoria Beckham you are the ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.Congratulations!!!!!!

81. breads | 27/10/07

hey jodi
i cant say asian can i?? cause that could be idain, bangaldeshi, pakistani etc
and i dont want to list countries
takes to long
so i stick with oriental

82. breads | 27/10/07

ps my spelling sucks, sorry

83. Frances | 27/10/07

mimi thanks for your comments. I have never tried clothes from Banana Republic but I know for definite a Gap size 0 is way too big for me. The figures I have given were taken from the websites size guide.

I understand what you’re saying about women v girl shapes. I made the comment because a while back there was a story about VB having jeans specially made to fit a 23″ waist and people were saying that was the size of a 7 year old which I think is rubbish. I think you will agree that a 7 year old’s shape will be very different from that of a grown woman. I agree that it’s a bit different for older girls.

84. Frances | 27/10/07

I’m not Asian or Japanese by the way!

85. Prinzz | 27/10/07

Probably a fake story.

86. Bobbi | 27/10/07

Instead of saying Oriental say “Eastern Asian”. Oriental is now considered racist by most people (unless you’re referring to rugs).

She is definitely insecure. She has admitted she has an iron will and can’t get past it. She admits she controls her eating and she has admitted to being both borderline anorexic and bulimic in the past.

Of course she has also said “i am naturally thin” which we all know is bullshit from looking at old pictures of her.

87. Solina | 27/10/07

00? she wishes!

88. maggie | 27/10/07

i think it’s fake. the altered clothing can’t be returned and i’m quite sure she knows that. plus, if it’s customed to fit her, she’d never need to return it, right?

89. Jodi | 27/10/07

Breads, your ignorance never ceases to amaze me. But hey, that’s your problem. That and your largely illiterate posts.

90. Charli | 27/10/07

Think youre all taking this abit too far …

91. breads | 27/10/07

aww jodi
your catty, i like some spunk in my fellow women
but does the word oriental realy offend that much?? oh well you will survive, or buy more rugs
but lowering yourself to insulting my intelligenc??? i expected better from you… why do the women in this forum always fall back on this tactic when they disagree with someone
…… who ever said the trait of being bitchy is too common among women….
what ever happened to feminism and being nice to your fellow woman? it seems alot just go out of their way to pick fights

92. FW | 27/10/07

it’s sounds outlandish that someone would do that but i bet it’s true - she’s a “celebrity” so she’ll drop 1000 dollars and return 200 dollars worth - Barney’s is still making a good profit off her and getting publicity every time she wears the clothes she doesn’t return - this woman really has nothing else to do but lose weight to get into the papers - and her never ending diet of dried shrimp just makes me think she is the most stinkiest person to be around - she’s messed up in the head - can you imgaine spending a day with someone so obsessed with making themselves thinner?

93. Maxx05 | 27/10/07

If VB is actually 5′3″ - 5′4″, then she can most definitely be a size 00. She would be the same height and sizing as I am. If she’s actually 5′7″, like some of the trash rags claim, she would be terribly beyond thin, I think. She would look closer to Angelina Jolie who IS 5′7″ and is definitely a less healthy looking woman than Victoria right now. Angelina is depressed over the death of her mother= can’t eat very well. Understandable if you ask me.
Victoria’s eating sounds very restrictive, and I’d definitely be hungry all the time if that was all I ate, I’d also be a lot thinner than a size 00! I hope the woman eats more than just a few pieces of sushi and edamame every day. They are good, but hardly enough to sustain you over the course of any given day!

she’s not a 00 and someone over the age of 12 at size 00 doesn’t automatically have an eating disorder. you’re just jealous cause youre fat.

95. serafin | 27/10/07

She doesn´t look like a size 00 but still looks much slimmer than the average woman. And her weight is fluctuating. Compared to last year she has put on a couple of pounds, which she will certainly loose again just before her Reunion Tour will starts.

Poor Victoria, for this body shape she must work out hard and diet for a lifetime.

96. Spectra | 27/10/07

I think you can be a normal woman without an ED and still wear a size 00, but it has a lot to do with bone structure. Maxx05, I figured you probably had pretty small hips after your first post and yeah, 31″ is pretty small. I’m 5′3″ and I wear an American size 0 or 2, depending on the store. But I have 33″ hips, so that’ll limit how small of clothes I can wear.

I think it’s ridiculous to try and return altered clothes to a store. I’d never even think of doing that. I don’t think I’d ever return anything unless I hadn’t worn it yet (haha, like I do after Christmas when I get a bunch of useless ugly clothes from my family).

97. Maxx05 | 27/10/07

Hi Spectra! Yes, you are right, it’s all bones. My hips are 30 1/2″, but my waist is a little bit bigger than 23″, more like 23 3/4″, and I’m a bit over 5′3″. If some girls on this site can go on about their boobs we can talk about our hips! LOLOL!!!!!!!! My friend, Tineke, who I used to work with is 5′7″ and size 2, perfectly healthy, NO eating problems. ( I was about to write her weight but realized that could be a trigger for some.) She’s in her 50’s, she’s Dutch. She’s tall and narrow as an arrow. We’re all different shapes and sizes - noone has a right to say that any of us aren’t REAL!!!!

98. Ada | 27/10/07

Yum, I love sushi. You’re probably ew-ing because you haven’t tried CALIFORNIA ROLLS! Mmmm those are so good.

If the story is true, she shouldn’t be allowed to return her clothes, but then again they Barney’s can resell it to people like Mary Kate and Nicole… y’know. But I highly doubt this story is true. She’s worth millions; a few grand down the train won’t mean much to her, at least I don’t think.

99. mika | 27/10/07

what, you can’t return altered clothes!!!
isn’t there a rule that it has to be just like when you bought it?

100. danni | 27/10/07

Haha she could probably find quite a few crackheads to donate the clothes to. (Those are the only people I have ever known who could possibly fit into Victoria Beckam’s clothes.)

101. danni | 27/10/07

Maxx05 - I read from many sources that Angelina is 5 foot 9. I’ve heard taller too.

102. Maxx05 | 27/10/07

I believe it, Danni, Angelina looks tall.

103. maggie | 27/10/07

i’m just wondering. what’s size 00 measurement?

i mean i wear size 0, 2, 4, and 6 depending on the brand… so when people say size 00, it sort of confuses me.

and no, i don’t think victoria is too thin right now. too thin is when she was at the world cup.

104. Agnes | 27/10/07

Fake. Normally she seems like a very genuine nice person, so this behaviour would be so unlike her.

105. Maxx05 | 27/10/07

I’d written something but my comment is in jail for some reason. 00 is equal to a size 23 in small narrow running jeans, unlike gap or other companies that really oversize their clothing. I take a size 23 in Hudson jeans, and the narrow cut AG jeans. My hips are 30 1/2″, waist 23 3/4″. I’m a bit over 5′3″.
00 per se isn’t really a size, just a product of our society and vanity sizing. Size 00 is now what a 4 used to be when I was a teenager as I remember.

106. k | 28/10/07

no one should be allowed to return items that were altered. and it does not matter if the people doing it are mega rich or poor, that is just in bad taste in my opinion.

107. Violet | 28/10/07

The Orient is a term traditionally used in Western culture to refer to South Asia, Southeast Asia and East Asia and the Middle East. The term “Orient” is derived from the Latin word oriens meaning east.

Ok, so the term is a bit sweeping but really if anyone is offended by being called ‘Oriental’, I don’t understand. I am a ‘westerner’, a ‘white’, an ‘occidental’. I am not offended. This politically correct world we live in continues to get ever more insane. I have a friend from Thailand who refers to herself as ‘yellow’ which I find a little more distasteful but at least she’s not hung up on the whole colour/race thing. We are what we are and I really can’t see how calling someone Oriental (when it’s a geographical fact) is such a bad thing! Maybe it’s an Amercian hang-up but in Britain we use the term with no offence meant and none taken. Grow up people!

108. Violet | 28/10/07

I’m putting bets on breads being British (where Oriental isn’t considered a rascist term), and Bobbi, Jodi being American??

109. Roslyn | 28/10/07

My first reaction after reading this is that Barney’s sales staff is always annoyed, even on a good day. They are the most pretentious set of sales people to work in Los Angeles. If she did return something, they are probably exaggerating the story.

110. Karma | 28/10/07

Forget her size- why hasn’t anyone commented on those ridiculous clown-pants she’s wearing!!

111. breads | 28/10/07

very true voilet, using the term oriental isn’t an issue in the uk but arent there people of “east asian ” ancestry that don’t originate from east asian countries like nepal, kazakhstan and kyrgs…something, i can’t spell it but it ends with stan
they look east asian but aren’t??? how would you describe their appearance if you didnt know what country they originate from?
this is the1st ive heard of the term oriental being deemed racist, welll if i meet any american of that origin i should be carefull
you live and learn everyday%)

112. breads | 28/10/07

as i live and learn, my boyfriend has just reminded me nepal is in east asia****shrug shoulders***%)

113. Jodi | 28/10/07

Violet, I am “United Statian”. ;-)

114. Violet | 28/10/07

(To Jodi)

Righto - so, out of interest, is that the only term you would ever want to be reffered to as?…

I get what you’re saying - Oriental, American, European…they’re too wide a description to accurately describe where someone is from, but I mean really, does it matter? When people in ‘my country’ complain about the Polish/Pakistanis/Iranians emmigrating here, I like to say, ‘Well so what, we live in a world, not one country’. The more people get worked up about where they’re from and what they should be called, the further back we go…

115. Jodi | 28/10/07

No, it’s not the country thing that I care about, Violet. I wrote “United Statian” instead of “American” here because people seem to forget that there are more “Americans” than just those that live in the United States.

The only thing that really annoys the hell out of me here is the term “Oriental”, which is just wrong. Rugs are Oriental. The old train is Oriental. People are not.

But, really, I don’t care to continue this on Rian’s website.

116. barney | 28/10/07

I am Barney. I am not annoyed that she purchased items , had them altered and then got a refund.
Victoria Beckham altered clothing items can be sold on Ebay for a large profit. I do not believe that Victoria has a 23 inch waist. It is probably more like 20 or 21 inches. I have a fetish for tiny waists.
(I have gone out with many women who have tiny waists. After a few dates, I always measure their waists with a tape measure.. It still appears to be 20 or 21 inches. )

117. Elle | 28/10/07

I don’t think she’d be able to return them but if she wants to give them to me i’d gladly take them off her hands =)
It’s kind of rediculous to take clothing back after altering it. I know she’s a celeb but they shouldn’t let anyone get away with that. if this story is actually true then that is just insanity.

To whoever said you have an eating disorder if you’re a 00 and over 12: I definitely don’t have one and the jeans i wore today were a 00.

118. Fiona | 28/10/07

Sushi is high in carbs and forbiden in most los carb diets.

I think she is following some variation of Atkins, but are you 100% sure that she eats sushi??

119. Maxx05 | 28/10/07

Hey, Elle, let’s jump VB when she’s leaving Barney’s and we can split the clothes! LOL!!!

120. mel | 29/10/07

Even if she didn’t want the clothes, she probably wouldn’t bother returning them - no matter how much she spent, it’s just a drop in the ocean for her.
I like her too, she’s got a good sense of humour.

121. sarina | 29/10/07

A friend of mine works at Barneys in LA, and he told me that Jessica Simpson and Lindsey Lohan, among many other stars, buy loads of stuff from Barneys and then return it all, b/c its maybe good publicity for Barneys and b/c they “need” all those cloths to change so many times for the papparazzi! What losers
(Ps- he told me this about a year ago….)

122. RENEE | 4/11/07

I think she looks good! She’s not all bony. This story must be fake. And, ya… edamame is good!!

123. Titi | 5/11/07

She annoys EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!

I hate this girl, she is ugly since she start being so stupid with her body, and i hate her bubbes they are like another part of herslef that she can not control, they look like 2 big baseball balls, not even playboy bunnies look so trashy.

Thank god u dont have girls, he is very wise.

124. Robyn | 7/11/07

The question…. why would Victoria return clothes? Money is not an issue for her and I realize there are other reasons to return clothes. Another reason to return clothes is because they do not fit or do not look good, but I find it hard to believe something wouldn’t look good on Victoria. She has one of those body types that makes every piece of clothing look good on. As for them not fitting, they were altered so of course they fit.

I do not believe she returned the clothes - this kind of thing is not an issue for her.

125. desert | 18/11/07

she MUST be a she-male :D

126. tuffers | 21/11/07

That hair do has got to go. It’s awful.

127. R Mosher | 10/02/08

Ummmm….sushi and edame are NOT low carb. Sushi has rice, sashimi is just the fish, that’s good. Edame are legumes which is starch…carbs
