   I could be wrong, because I don’t watch “Ugly Betty”, but isn’t part of her role on the show to be sort of frumpy, and fluffy? She has seemed to lost some weight in the past 6 months or so. Is she trying to become a hollywood bobblehead?

    I don’t think that she’s as big as people make her out to be…either she’s losing weight or they pad her for the show…She’s quite petite actually…It’s easy to make short people look chubby…heh…

    i love ugly betty and i dont care what ferrera looks like, all that matters is her ability to act
    and thats what makes great casting and shows like ugly betty compared to pretty people who can’t act , but don’t they look great as if thats enough case and point gossip girl

    I tried Ugly Betty a couple of times, but I just didn’t get it. She seems like a nice person and people rave about her acting…I think she is very average looking, and I also think she is chubby. Not obese, maybe not even unhealthy…but definitely chubby. If she’s happy with herself, than good for her.

    I don’t get the people who think she’s on her way to becoming hollywood thin. Why criticize her because she’s lost some weight? She’s actually looks about the same as she did when she started Ugly Betty last year. Oh yeah, the character’s clothes have always been padded to make her look frumpier.

    Why are we so surprised that she works out? Maybe she just started? Maybe she works out 3 NOT 5 times a week? Maybe her diet is what’s keeping her from being the size 2 you all wish her to be? Or maybe she works out enough just to be healthy and not waif-like?

    MAYBE….she’s just a healthy young woman at a healthy weight- something most Hollywood actresses simply refuse to be these days..

    i HATE when people judge famous people who begin to lose weight/improve their bodies in some way or another. it is their JOB to look good, and not to mention they get photographed 24/7 at all angles, in different (unforgiving) circumstances, and are judged most of the time based solely on their appearances. what would you do if suddenly you had the money/time/means to make you look the best you can look? would you not hire trainers, chefs, etc to get you looking your best? it doesnt mean she wants to be a bobblehead or be another hollywood clone. maybe she wants to look better naked, or not worry about being on the cover of star for ‘celebs who battle cellulite”. theyre human, and really rich. you’d do the same.. and honestly i dont think there is really a good reason for a celeb to NOT take advantage that.

    I find it weird that her job right now is to play a chubby ‘’average'’ girl, yet she’s losing more weight.

    I guess the pressure gets to everyone, who wants to be the one who cant fit into sample sizes, anyway theres always the fat suit.

    I have watched the TV show two times. I have spent the last couple of minutes attempting to figure out is Ms. Ferrera more ugly in real life than when she plays the role of Ugly Betty. Either way she looks ugly to me.

    She can lose weight, thats fine, but I remember when she first started Ugly Betty how she said she was never going to lose weight because she was happy how she looked and it worked for her.

    It seems like she is caving in to the pressure to be thin in Hollywood.

    But who wouldn’t? If my body was on this site and had people saying I was fat, I would go to the gym too!

    She should be allowed to work out if she wants to…there’s nothing in her contract to make her stay fat or anything. Not that she’s exactly fat, she’s just a little fluffy. If she eats more, she won’t lose weight from exercise anyway. You have to watch what you eat AND hit the gym to seriously melt the blubber.

    It’s so odd to me that the queen latifah post gets comments on how awful it is to be obese and unhealthy and America Ferrara is catching flack for working out.
    Damned if you do and damned if you don’t.
    Let’s get some perspective here folks - she hasn’t lost that much weight and still looks like your average American girl. But still, if she wants to excercise and get fit, is that a crime?

    It looks to me like she is still wearing gym clothes, so i’m going to assume she didn’t change or shower. I do that too, unless I have somewhere to go afterward, in which case I don’t leave the gym in sweats.

    My point is, after a strenuous workout my gym clothes are drenched in sweat, and I am not one of those people who sweat a lot normally. If it really was strenuous, wouldn’t her shirt at least be damp? Otherwise I think she’s cute but I would have no desire to haul those boobs around all the time.

    The paparazzi website I got the pictures from - FlynetPictures.com - said it was her trainer. They could be wrong. I also wondered how he was a trainer when he didn’t look very muscular.

    if she’s only 5′1″ i could believe that she’s a size 6. keep in mind, size 6s have approximately a 27″ waist and 37″ hips and those measurements on a very short person are going to make them look much bigger than those same measurements on a model-height person. that being said, i still think that she’s on the big side, so i wonder if she’s going to lose anymore weight. and it really doesn’t look like she finished a grueling workout. when i’m finished working out i’m usually sopping wet and my hair isn’t the least-bit dry.

    I totally agree Andrea, I always wear a hoodie after I leave the gym, because I never shower there (that’s gross) and after a real workout of course you get sweaty, and I never sweat during normal stuff.

    i would say that she is borderline fat/chubby….and I have a fiend who is 5′2′’ and a size 5 who is tiny….so yeah America is prolly a 12ish….

    I think that all of the “ugly” comments are simply based on the fact that she is Latina. If this was any other WHITE girl with blonde hair people would say she is not that bad… or pretty. I think it is her ethnic features that you nasty bitches are calling ugly.

    She is beautiful for her. More importantly, she is beautiful because she is intelligent, working, and DOING something with her life.

    If she loses a noticeable amount of weight, I am sure she will just say that she is just trying to ‘get healthy’, but her character on “Ugly Betty” is supposed to be overweight (at least according to fashion industry standards). I wonder if her television contract has a weight clause in it…
