These pictures were only taken a few weeks apart - it seems Kelly is losing the weight pretty quickly. I hope she is losing it the healthy way (whatever that may be).

She has lost weight, there’s no denying, but she’s also dressed to flatter herf figure. She’s definitely very attractive and comes across as really bubbly and happy.
she hasnt lost weight. she has her arm on her hip to make it look thiner and shes wearing a dress instead of tight jeans and a tight top. her face is still chubby and her calves are thick. plus the last picture u can see how chunky her arms are
there is no denying it…she has definitely lost weight!!! definitely cant be healthy tho and maybe this time she’ll maintain it!!
i´m not sure weather she lost weight or not. maybe 2-4 pounds. but her clothes suite her sooo much better, maybe they are just hiding things….

It could definitely be her clothes hiding things (she’s finally wearing things that flatter her), plus she’s in a flattering position with her hands on her hip. I don’t think she lost any weight. If she has its not very much.

i think its hard to tell with this flattering dress thats she s wearing and the way she poses … her legs still lok kinda chubby .. but i like that this makes her look different from all the others and she is cute

As far as Kelly’s weight loss goes, I’d say oh-nay. Looks like she’s wearing a flattering dress that is very “forgiving”. She looks 14,026 times better in this little number than she does in the stuff she usually wears.

I’m glad to see that I’m not the only one who is exasperated by the rampant bad spelling, “text” speak, horrible grammar and extinction of punctuation marks by many posters on this site. You don’t have to be an elementary school teacher (I’m an architect) to be distressed at how many people today have completely fogotten, or worse, don’t care how to write. Sad thing is, it would make sense if all the bad spellers out there were foreigners who can be cut some slack, as English is their second language (how many Americans can write coherently in another language?), but in fact it’s generally high school students, and twenty-somethings (speaking for my own generation), who write as if they’re still in fourth grade. Ugh, end rant.
Onto Kelly… good for her. She looks great, and happy, and as long as she stays that way, some weight loss will do her wonders, for her self-esteem and her health.
I thought she had a cute body when she was on American Idol! Now she just doesnt look right and she looks old!

No, i dont think shes lost weight, its just the outfits are different, shes wearing heels in the second pic while she probably isnt in the first. Now ladies we all know a gorgeous pair of heels makes us slimmer.

IdeasReloaded, If someone is not a native English speaker, I don’t have a problems with spelling and usage problems or mistakes. However, it is clear that MANY of the people making these mistakes are indeed native English speakers and should know how to spell these very common words by now. It’s not snobbism at all. It’s just a lack of patience or tolerance for poor language skills.
And no, cassy_b, I’m not “traumatized” by the example you highlight. Mildly irked, yes, but so what. Everyone has peeves. This is mine.
I realize people make typos, too, and that doesn’t “traumatize” me, either, in case you’re wondering.
Since this a post about Kelly Clarkson, I want to say that I think her hair looks cute and I love the dress. Her stylist for this occasion should be commended.
Please note my own error, i.e. “a problems”, above. I make mistakes, too, after all. But at least I notice them.
I’m with Jodi on this. People on this site say “loose weight” EVERY DAY and it’s getting to the point where I think some people might start thinking that is the correct way to say “lose weight”.
Anway, I think Kelly DOES look like she has lost a few pounds and I think she looks terrific. I think I read somewhere that she does Atkins to lose weight. Unfortunately, it does seem like she always gains the weight back. I think she’s a pretty girl and looks good no matter what, but she would look even better if she could lose a few more pounds and keep them off.

she did lose wt. by that time passed she could safely lose around 10 lbs. then add 5 pounds of water weight on top of that and some working out….i dont think she lost that much…but her arms look way better. i dont think theres spanx on those… lol
but yeh…10-20 more…maybe not 20..shes pretty short.

Jodi, let me rush to your defense here, typos are not the same thing as obvious lack of spelling skills, and I find that really annoying, too. I guess it’s the result of all the instant text messaging;

Honestly, I can’t tell if she lost or not. The new pictures just look like more flattering outfits for her figure–as opposed to the older pic in which the clothes did not suit her at all {and you’d have to be pretty slim to get away with}. I think this is a matter of dressing slimmer to be frank.
I don’t like it when people accuse people who don’t like lazy spellers of being prejudiced against non-native speakers.
I think it’s more of an issue of maybe picking up a dictionary every once in a while if almost-homonyms like lose and loose really confuse you.
I used to read a website for a far-from-reality television show starring my lover and rabid alcoholic, Kiefer Sutherland, where the fanboards regularly feature people screaming: “Can you believe that guy DYED!!??”

My comments are always getting thrown in purgatory. There is a big difference in the mistakes people make when they are writing in a second language (I speak from experience…) and the mistakes people make when they are lazy.
Just re-read your comments. Eventually my comment will show up, but until then, use a dictionary for semi-homonyms like “lose” and “loose” or “effect” and “affect” (that one really pisses me off) if they confuse you.

Oh god. I’m a copywriter. I don’t even want to read the grammar debates but I can’t tell you how many professional writers (seasoned vets who have been on staff for 10, 20 years) still can’t get “affect’ and “effect.” One of my writers sent out a restaurant review, describing the “hardy” stew. It happens all over. It’s not just Internet ignorance. It’s global. I don’t think they teach spelling and language skills anymore, do they.
As for Kelly Clarkson, she looks a bit better, but her weight is always yo-yoing. Didn’t she say she was bulimic once? Oy vey.
I like the purple dress, but that’s it. She still looks fug and needs to lose more weight.

I think she looks the same. She looks to be wearing a more outfit. A black dress can make anyone look thinner. I really dont think she looks any different at all, that being said im happy that after all this time in the spotlight she hasnt let hollywood get to her. She always looks happy and even though shes “chubby-ish” she still sells plenty of records!
I really hope she does loose weight. She’s such a pretty woman and has an awesome voice. Her weight was getting to the point where it didn’t look healthy anymore.

She loses weight everytime she tours, I remember seeing it in a interview. She said something like she eats like a cow when she’s not touring, and then during touring she’s very active and hardly finds time for unhealthy eating habits.
Kudos to Jodi, Hannah, Edan, Cossey, Sian, and Edan for defending literacy and the English language. Using language as it was intended to be used isn’t “up-tight”, “snobbish” or whatever else you other folks were attempting to say. It’s simply showing some respect for the people trying to read your post. If your opinions are worth sharing, do it right (if you possibly can), or shut the f*#! up. Everyone makes mistakes, but any post that’s full of typos, text shortcuts, misspelled words, ghetto grammar and other total crap doesn’t deserve to be read. This site can be funny, informative, amusing, and a great way to escape the day to day stuff we all have to deal with. If you can’t contribute to the fun with a reasonably literate and carefully written contribution, please just GO AWAY.

Kelly is definitely losing weight. She has lost about 10 pounds I would estimate - and it is because she is on tour. She has always said when she tours she loses near 15 lbs because of the hectic schedule and she has a chef who tours with her that makes her healthy foods to keep her healthy while on the road.
Kelly’s weight fluctuates every year and will probably continue to do so.. I always think she looks amazing. Not many stars these days have the self esteem to really not care what people say about their weight. I really admire her.

She looks amazing! Her hair and dress look great, and she has definetely slimmed down. She does it every tour, and this time is no different. It must be the workout she gets from being on stage so many nights a week.
And Jodi, I agree. I hate when I do typos, it happens all the time and is so annoying. My pet peeve is when people say ‘anyways’ or end a sentence in ‘at,’ as in, ‘where is it at?’

About this loose/lose-argue though; am I the only one that doesn’t get why it’s such a fuss? After all, this is a website with visitors from many countries and as far as I know, people don’t care much about spelling on the Internet. English is not my mother tongue (yes, I looked mother tongue up). I’m a 16-year-old girl from Sweden, and all my English I’ve learned from school or TV.
Should I not write here to spare you from my grammar mistakes?

I don’t know any of you on this site and have no bias but I am passionate about the English language and hate to see it abused. Having said that, I really think it’s a lack of understanding on my own part and that of many others, that leads us to get so upset with people who perhaps haven’t had as good an education as we have. Count yourself lucky and remember that this is a frivolous site where many of us come to escape the stresses of the day - save your criticism for those who you know are being plain lazy, and not someone who for all you know, may be dyslexic or have another learning difficulty. It just isn’t fair.

it’s hard to tell with that loose dress that’s covering all her problem spots. but her arms and face still look somewhat chunky. i know everyone is big on saying a healthy body looks better, but kelly needs to lose some weight she’s on the verge of becoming obese!

It’s rare for me to say this, but she is chunky. And I don’t think its cute. One could be chunky and have curves and a nice shape… she is not. I bet she’d be hot if she lost weight. She is pretty, but body is not cute.

Studies are coming to light that show that people up to 75lbs overweight live longer and have fewer health problems then people who are 5lbs underweight. So, while Kelly may not fit into an XS or size 2 she’ll probably outlive her contemporaries that do… good news for her fans.

Looks to me like she’s lost some but not a lot. I think it’s more due to dressing better, proper fitting clothes and carrying herself better.
I guess I’ve never really liked or disliked but I think she’s looking a lot better in the bottom two and looks pretty happy with herself too so that’s a good sign.

I wonder what Rian thinks about all this hoopla regarding spelling and grammar! However, I do agree with Jodi and the gang. Loose and lose are very different words. Yet they don’t bother me when I see them on blogs or forums, but they do irk me when I see them in school (as in assignments), E-mails, etc.
KC: Looks goregeous, I think she always looks great. I think she is the main reason I have decided to lose weight. She very beautiful but when she gains weight she looks like a totally different person. Which is probably the same for me…I used to be pretty but now…well I must be horrifying

Maybe a few pounds, but nothing much. As others have said, all her “problem areas” (tummy, backside, thighs) are covered up in this dress, so of course she looks more thin.

Haha, I use this handy little program (that comes with Gaim) called ASpell. Regardless of what or where I’m typing on this computer, it will underline anything in red that is misspelled. Which is why you will rarely if ever see anything misspelled in a post (except maybe a celeb’s name).
As for misspellings here in the comments section, I’m so used to seeing it that it no longer fazes me. Although the Allure magazine article that talked about this website did mention something about it… :-/

i think that its impossible for someone to lose that much weight within weeks. obviously when she is on stage, shes not paying attention to who’s taking her picture and how her arms are jiggling, but when shes at a premiere or something, shes sucking it in, crossing her legs, and making herself look more lean that she really does.
She still looks like a fat 13yr old to me…
no it doesn’t! i lost five pounds in two weeks since i started walking to school! and nothing has changed in my eating habits!
