Miley Cyrus Hires Trainer To Get in Shape

Here is proof that Hollywood is totally messed up about weight and body image!

15-year old Miley Cyrus from Hannah Montana had to fend off pregnancy rumors a couple of months ago. I did not report it on this website, as I rarely cover celebrities who are under 18. However… it turned out that the circulating photos of Miley at the time were photoshopped.

In reality, Miley is already very slim. Yet, because of the pregnancy rumors, she has hired trainer Harley Pasternak to whip her into shape. Harley’s current client roster boasts Jessica Simpson, Katherine Heigl, Eva Longoria and others.

[…] So the Hannah Montana star has hired Eva Longoria and Jessica Simpson’s trainer Harley Pasternak to help her get in shape, according to In Touch Weekly magazine.

A pal tells the publication, “She just wants to look great. She’s very motivated.”

She already looks great!

It’s so sad that the pressures of “society and the media” are weighing down so heavily on people, but it’s especially heartbreaking when it affects those so young. Why can’t we all just love ourselves instead of chasing a false sense of “perfection”?

i see nothing suprising about this article
they are many girls i have met, who are barely 17yrs old and want to achieve that perfect i don’t eat shape the nicole richie’s and kate moss of celeb land have
they have barely developed fully yet they want to fit in and feel the only way to be attractive is to be as thin as possible, those in the limelight probably have it ten times worse
if that trainer had any sense he would turn down such work and let the girl learn to love her body first and come back to him when she is a young women not just a girl
there are lots of overwieght people out there who actually need his help

She is so gross and trashy. Her real name is “Destiny Hope.” So not joking.

    Trailer Trash that got money.

she needs somebody to help her face, and she can’t sing.

  12. By Brandy on Nov 12, 2007 | Reply

I think she looks great. As long as she doesn’t go overboard with the trainer though, I don’t think it’s a problem. Being healthy does involve physical exercise :)

Miley is another Disney star. She has her own sitcom, where she stars with her father, who plays…. her father. I think he’s some famous country singer.

And the reason I know all this garbage? My 11 year old sister loves Hannah Montana and makes me watch it every time she comes over.

I don’t know what Miley’s aspirations are, but for her sake, let’s hope she isn’t trying to shed away her tween star image to embark on some unrealistic career pursuits. Weight loss usually signals that these Disney girls might be after more ambitious roles and serious acting accolades.

What a coincidence–I’m searching for tickets to her show as this was posted.
The gal is skinny as can be. Hopefully her fitness routine is just to maintain her health and not lose anything.

Wow that is really bad if a girl as thin as her has to hire a trainer to beat pregnancy rumors….I swear we live in a sad world.

good for you rian for not posting on those under 18…there is already enough pressure on young women, not to mention their bodies are still physically developing…

  19. By Karma on Nov 12, 2007 | Reply

I haven’t seen pictures of her but I don’t think there’s anything wrong with a 15 year old hiring a personal trainer. Yes, it’s uncommon, but those who start exercising at an early age usually are the ones who maintain that type of lifestyle as they grow older.
If her trainer is good (and I know he’s very reputable) he will not put her health in jeopardy or tweak her diet and routine so that she gets even thinner. You can work out and maintain your weight (or put weight on) you know. Just depends on what results she’s looking for.
You wouldn’t discourage a freshman in high school to avoid team sports, would you?? It’s all relative..

  20. By andrea on Nov 12, 2007 | Reply

I for one think she’s pretty. Obviously, she doesn’t need to lose any weight. However, she’s a child star, which means she probably doesn’t attend a regular school. Regular school means gym class, sports teams, etc. Maybe it is good that she has a trainer. Even if you aren’t trying to lose weight, everyone needs exercise! When I was 15 I played 3 sports; I doubt she has time for soccer practice.

and BTW, her dad is Billy Ray Cyrus, the often ridiculed country musician responsible for “Achy Breaky Heart” in the early 90s, and more recently on some TV show where I think he plays a doctor. Not sure on that one, but living in WV teaches you a thing or two about country music, like it or not.

It’s good that she’s exercising, but hopefully she doesn’t turn into a scary skinny stick.

i think shes already naturally very skinny.
i hope she doesnt feel the pressure too much to lose weight. i mean shes on the DISNEY CHANNEL.
we’re talking about little kids looking up to her..
    thats really scary.

My high school spanish teacher (a woman) had a terrible mullett and also a skin condition, and we used to call her “Billy Ray Psoriasis” in his honor, or if we were feeling generous, just “Seniorita Psoriasis”. Oh, to be 15 and cruel again…

I’m hoping that her goal is muscle mass. I doubt her dad ( Billy Ray) would let her hire a trainer to help her lose weight. She is very very thin.

  30. By Tucker on Nov 12, 2007 | Reply

It truly is Destiny Hope, Charli.
I read it in People from the girls or the dads mouth, but then when she started smiling a lot when she was young they started calling her ‘Smiley,’ which turned into ‘Miley.’

I’m not sure what her official name is, though.

Ok, first of all, I don’t get the comments about the wonky face. Are we looking at the same pictures? She has gorgeous eyes, great skin, a darling smile etc. I don’t even want to know who you all would think is pretty!!

Also, I hope to goodness that she is hiring Harley to get in shape — not necessarily to lose weight. Those two things are NOT the same. Someone can be thin but out of shape ……

  33. By apricotmuffins on Nov 12, 2007 | Reply

well, at the age of 15 she’s not fully developed at all, and if she does too much excercise she could damage her bones. and she NEEDS to eat enough at this age, not be put on a diet or any kind of training regime.

Its disgusting that someone would spread preganancy rumours like that, its the kind of thing that will spiral this girl into an ED, and serious issues with her body.
How hurtful and spiteful can people get? the people doing this to her arent people the same age as her, theyre ADULTS and should know better. it terrifies me that people think that anyone in the acting business becomes a piece of meat with no feelings, just opportunities for others to make money.

Once again Disney promotes a stumpy, no neck little girl until she is big enough to go to Hollywood and will immediately crash diet foolishly thinking it will help her proportions. Hillary Duff the sequel, when do you think Miley will get horse teeth? Hopefully soon, her current set is jacked.

    1. She’s already stick thin. What is she trying to be, a skeleton?
    2. Her face is plain. If she can be a celebrity, any other 15 year old girl can.

  39. By Tucker on Nov 12, 2007 | Reply

Her whole family, including all of her siblings, are incredibly ugly. It seems cruel of Disney to hire this girl knowing full well all of the critisism she will get for her looks, and it will only get worse as she gets older.

I normally don’t post on these walls but I thought that everyone should know that I work at a gym and I know personally that Miley Cyrus doesn’t train with harley Pasternak himself its with a wonderful trainer that works under him by the name of Natalie. And Natalie is in by NO means the type of trainer to encourage a too thin body image. So I’m proud of Miley for trying to get in shape a healthy way!

Whats wrong with being active? You people like to jump in conclusion. Shes probably busy so she wants to get in shape. At that age I was playing sports, trying to get active and in shape. Not because I wanted to be skinny but to feel great. Being active gives you more energy then just being lazy.

  45. By apricotmuffins on Nov 13, 2007 | Reply

theres being active, and theres being obsessive, vel. Im all for young people getting out and moving around, playing sports and such, because being active DOES improve energy. But what theyre talking about here is a training regime- for someone who is neither an athlete nor someone who should want to loose weight.

If she’s a sports nut, fine. if she isnt, its only to make her loose weight, which is NOT FINE AT ALL at her weight and age. I think its wrong to excercise purely for weight loss.

  46. By breads on Nov 13, 2007 | Reply

    thank you apricotmuffins, well said
even if cyrus is a sport nut which i doubt because kids who want to become athletes/are sport nuts start way before they are 15yrs old in any sport
why not partake in sports with friends or through school, why a personal trainer?? it seems obssesive
no matter how you look at it to be willing to spend that kind on money you have to be seriously worried about your weight/shape

I’m sorry but why are people immediately assuming that she hired a personal trainer to be anorexic thin? I think the society is to blame not only for girls wanting to become stick thin in the first place but the OTHER way around in that we immediately think the worst and bash girls when they take steps to be in better shape.

She’s not stick thin. I think she just wants to become more athletic-looking, and there’s nothing wrong with that. I think that if she doesn’t overdo it, she’ll be fine. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to lose baby fat.

I believe that Miley (AS OF RIGHT NOW) is just right/perfect. She is very, very thin…but not “scary skinny”! She has just ( barely ) turned 15 years old and, at this age, and for several more years yet…her body will be adjusting & growing into a more womanly figure! I agree with Jodi (who says: “WHAT ?! This girl is already stick thin” !!!)” …. Which in a great many, many very young “starlets” on the rise; we see the younger stars like Hilary Duff, Linds’ Lo, Nicole Richie and ohers as well as becoming so rigid with denying that they have “appetites” or that they eat “all the time” or the WORST: !!! ” I can eat anything I want and not gain an ounce” !!!! I really become enraged when I hear that “main-stay” excuse that they can eat anything & everything that they want and not gain any weight !! That excuse is just so LAME !!!!! I nearly “hurl” / “blow chuncks” EVERY SINGLE TIME I hear these emaciated young girls CLAIMING that they are just genetically thin. I think that may be true for ..say 2% of these skinny girls …. But 98% are doing one thing or another (any many times several things all at the SAME TIME) to become borderline or totally EMACIATED (LOOKING) !!! Whether through anorexia or bulimia or exercise bulimia or a combination of all these !!
I totally agree with Adrienne whio posted: “Miley is already quite, quite thin. It is a good/positive thing if Miley is exercising if her mission / goal is to build just bit of very lean muscle mass !! ” I had to “just love” what one of the posters said….Miss M: “She’d rather have her 15 year old working with a personal trainer (just to tone up or just add bit of muscle tone, etc) than to have the 15-year old girl sticking her fingers down her throat !!” I suppose that just “time will tell” as to whether ( or not ) Miley M-A-Y fall into the scary skinny “kingdom” !!!
