It has been determined by many of the voters in our Desperate Housewives Body Poll that Teri does not have the best body on the show because she is too skinny. Which is quite interesting if you think about it - especially given the fact that many of us are so thin-obsessed.
I can’t help but wonder what she eats to stay so skinny…
her legs are gross- she needs some muscle!

Her body kind of never looked different for what I can remember. She says that she was called spider at school, which she still resembles… And her daughter has a similar body… so I really think in her case it’s genetics!
i think a more appropriate question would be ‘ what doesn’t she eat…’
She looks okay but the pants and shoes arent doing her any favours.
If you eat only vegies, fruit, fish and fat free yogurts, I guess it’s quit easy to stay like that…
She looks fabulous! So she’s not muscular…so what? not everyone can pull off the uber toned Jess Beil look. Teri has always been very thin and has always looked hot that way! This is a world of diversity and equilibrium people…if we didn’t have living skeletons how would we ever balance out the overwhelming population of morbidly obese fatties?? Huh?? Exactly…we couldn’t. We need women like this to maintain balance.
I don’t dislike her body because she’s too skinny - I dislike it because it is so aged and abused.

what great pants! i want a pair…..i think she looks GREAT here! slim and slender. she is obviously a taller woman and i think she pulls it off well. she looks very thin but i dont think her face (ie cheeks) looks as guant and skeletal anymore
There’s “good skinny” and then there’s “oh god I can see the tendons in your upper arms”. As far as the poll goes, ALL of them are incredibly skinny - as as opposed to, for instance, Eva Longoria, Hatcher just looks haggard.
OMG I love her top! Terri’s not that tall, she’s just long and lean and drapey clothes look great on that body type, as can be seen in this pic. She would be well-advised to stick to his look Tighter styles are just not flattering on the very lean.
I’m not sure the average age of the vistors to this site but Teri Hatcher had a body to die for ten - twelve years ago circa Lois and Clark and Seinfeld.
She was breast heavy with succulent hips and a tiny waist. She carried a little more weight in her butt and face but she looked great.
Now she looks like every other calorie deprived plastic surgery addict on Hollywood Blvd.
Worse than most, actually.
I’m not usually a fan, but I think she looks great here - very classy.
Terry has a case of the “candy apple” body, as I like to call it. Skinny legs with a wide, unshaped torso. Remember the bikini pics that surfaced? her stomach didn’t look skinny at all, but her legs and arms looked super thin.
She looks nice and slender to me, not too skinny.
I think her legs look gorgeous.
I think she looks really cute here, but I do think she’s a little too thin. I think once women hit a certain age(usually around 40), they really start to look aged if they are too thin. Skin loses it’s elasticity and they tend to look more wrinkled in the face, neck, and hands. If Teri gained 10 pounds, i think she would look a LOT better.
Rian, I was wondering, since I’m in the moderation waiting room, do you have some cookies or bon bons that I could munch on?

i think teri looks better than usual here. speaking of Desperate Housewives Rian, have you ever seen the show “The Real Housewives of Orange County” on Bravo? i admit it is pretty stupid but i do watch it from time to time…. maybe you could post pics of those women too…just a thought
I actually like the really thin look, but I hate Teri’s body. Her legs are so long and skinny and don’t “match” with her upper body. It’s weird looking to me.
i think she looks fine here. her body is great, though her face might be a little haggard…but that’s what big sunglasses are for.
and i LOVE those pants. i’d like to know who designed them or where teri got them.
Ellen Pompeo is stick-thin but still gorgeous and carries it well… Teri doesn’t.
I don’t know about the genetics… Does anyone remember Teri in her Superman days??? She was not nearly as thin and she actually had some shape back then.

I think she’s just tall with relatively small bones, which makes her look ultra skinny.
I don’t know why people pick on her, she seems extremely nice and doesn’t behave badly, ever.
I agree with the PP about how women need fat on their bodies as they get older.
Teri is 40+ and needs to gain probably 10-15lbs. Her legs are simply too lanky and spindly for her body. - it’s NOT cute. When she wears tight jeans on DW, I cringe. It just doesn’t look good.

(reading about her eating habit which is basically a life long dieting regime in some of her interviews and it’s too strict, explains her thinnes)

Her skinniness ages her. This is why she loses out on the polls, I think people regard her as too thin- compared to Eva Longoria she looks drawn and scrawny, but if she was 20years younger she would probably get away with it. Sad but true.

Coacheiress, I know you’re kidding but the fact is that the more super-skinny is seen as the ideal body (whether its healthy for the person or not), the more people give up ever trying to be healthy at all, and the bigger the obesity problem grows, in every sense.
But… Teri Hatcher looks great for her 40’s, thu not as good as her Lois and Clark days (but still fab)

Yes, that size would look good on someone in their 20’s. People in their 40’s, however, start to experience a loss of skin elasticity - particularly those with a history of eating disorders. I know it dosen’t seem quite fair, but Teri would look better with more weight. As others have said, the lower weight really ages her…and yes, I do remember her in her Louis and Clark days. She was beautiful then, at a higher weight.
She doesn’t look very healthy, IMHO, and never looks really happy, either. She was so BEAUTIFUL back in the Lois & Clark days (and on Seinfeld as well). She’s sure not going to look good as she ages.
She looks ill. There´s skinny and there´s skinny. You can be skinny and look healthy (Eva Longoria for example).
She looked much better in Lois and Clark, so I don’t think she is supposed to be this thin genetically. I totally agree once you hit a certain age, you can’t pull off super skinny anymore. If she’s this skinny in an outfit like that with wide pants, think of how she looks naked…probably disgusting with bones poking out everywhere.
That said, she seems very nice and friendly.
Omg she is not thin at all. She is normal. Everyone is always making such a fuss at how thin she is and I think she looks absolutely normal. Not thin not big MIDDLE. She would be a size 2 pants or 4 and a medium to small shirt.

I like Terri Hatcher as an actress, she cracks me up on DH. I don’t mind her thinness, in fact I don’t find her too thin. I just don’t like the odd boobage, I think they aren’t in proportion to her slim build. I’m not one who likes boobs anyway, I prefer flat to “fluffy”.

Poor Terri, she simply hasn’t aged well that’s all and all this deprivation to remain thin is making her look even older. I watched an old episode of Superman the other day and was struck by how beautiful and lush she used to be - heavier yes, but so much better for it. Now, she just looks like an old junkie.
