So on that note… here are some new pictures of Jennifer from just yesterday, this time wearing jeans and a jacket.
Whether she is a size two (as she claims) or not, she is still really adorable…

Okay, we all know she’s not a size 2. And for someone who is so into promoting “comfort” with your body, why is lying about her own measurements?
Let’s spill the honest truth here: Nobody wants to be called fat, overweight, thick, whatever it is. So we can promote all this hooha about “Ooh I love my body” but the reality is, no woman is going to be publicly ridiculed and still realistically be able to look in the mirror and say “I love the way this looks!” That’s just my opinion. And I think that’s proven even more in how obviously she lied about her size.

Regarding sizes. I just ordered a pair of size 2 pants from J Crew because I seem to not be fitting my size 0s so well lately. (uggghhh) Anyway, they are SERIOUSLY HUGE. They fall right off me. So maybe she can wear a size 2 in certain brands, or even within the same brand, sometimes the fits differ depending on the style. It is so true that US clothes are just made really big to flatter people. I still fit some of my size 0s, and really, I’m no size 0. Sizes are a joke. I think if you can look in the mirror at yourseld naked and like what you see - that’s all that matters. And it’s different for everyone. I think she is really cute but does look better thinner.

From these pics you can see her hips are wide, way too wide for a UK 8. And WAY too wide for a US 2.

True, an American size 2 is not the same as European size 2, more like a Euro size 4. We make clothes bigger to fit our American expanding waistlines.
I don’t think she was quoted as saying she was size two…. However, he statement insinuated that she was a size two. Now she can either be kicking herself in the butt for not being more careful with her wording or screaming at the media for making it seem like she said that. Either way, people took it as if she was saying she is a size 2. Pictures make is hard to judge, but she is definately not a size 2, even by American standards. She looks more like a “normal”, in decent shape gal, around size 6 or 8 depending on designer.
Easily, if she dropped a dress size or two she would be back in with the “Hollywood crowd” but good for her for making her own choices about her body.

Everyone stop misquoting Jennifer! She did not say she was a size 2, people just interpreted it that way. Jennifer isn’t very tall so I’m going to say she wears a size 8. And I really don’t think she is comfortable with her body like she says she is. If she was, why would she be wearing such loose, baggy clothing? That’s something to think about!

I agree that she seems more like a 6 or an 8. Even though she didn’t claim to be a size two, I wish she had said “there is nothing wrong with being a size 6.” That would have done much more to promote a healthy body image because fitting in size two jeans is not something everyone can and should aspire to.

I agree that sizes on clothes anymore are such a joke. You could make a pair of pants with a 30″ waist a 0 if you wanted to…I wear a 0 in some brands and in others a 2 fits better. JLH may think a size 2 isn’t fat, but no one was ever saying a 2 was fat; just that she had gained a little weight in her thighs. She’s probably like a size 6 now…I don’t know why she just doesn’t admit that and defend her body. She looks fine so I don’t see why she’s being so uptight about it.
Are we taking her height into consideration? Everyone keeps saying, “I’m a size 2 and I’m way skinnier than her!” That’s because you’re probably taller than her. I’m 5′8″ and a size 8. I’m going to look a lot skinnier than a 5′2″ girl who’s also a size 8.
Not to mention the fact that she never said outright that she was a size 2. She was bringing to light the warped view that American women have of their bodies.

Thing is, Hollywood doesn’t claim that size 2 is fat. Most scrawny models are 2/4. So when they say “you’re fat” and she replies “size 2 isn’t fat”, it’s obvious what people will infer. Agree with the size 6 assessment, Unless she is 4 foot 6 inches tall, then maybe a size 2. That being said, “A size 6 is not fat!” I have a lot of respect for her for speaking up.
It makes me angry that she would preach about the importance being healthy and curvy and then claim to be a size 2, which she CLEARLY hasn’t been in a long time. The American vanity sizing phenomenon has totally gotten out of hand but I’d say she’s somewhere around a size 10. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with 10, it’s the lying that’s enraging.

She has definitely gained weight recently, but if you look carefully back over old pictures, she has always had wide hips and a strange build. Her upper body is tiny, and her waist is SOOO small. Based on the upper body alone I would think she was a size 0 or 2. But, her lower body does not match her upper body. Her hips are so wide compared to the upper body. In the past she was very creative about hiding it with her outfits. Back then, she had slim arms and a tiny waist, and she wore dresses/outfits that drew the eyes up to her bustline and waist and away from her problem areas. Now she has gained some weight in the arms and upper body so it’s harder to mask the problem areas.

If she is 5′2″ or 5′3″, she could easily be a 6. A tall 6 is much thinner-looking than a short 6. I’m 5′5″ 135 and a 4/6 and look a lot like JLH (minus the jugs). And I work out every single day.

She probably has her clothes custom-made. Her hips are wide, but she still has a pretty small waist, so whatever size she is it’s probably based on her smallest measurement (Her waist) and not on the largest measurement like we need to do when buying clothes to fit in the store.

America is very short. She is only 5′1. A size 6 at that height isn’t the same as a size 6 at a taller height.

Clothes fit all people differently so most people can wear several sizes depending on the store/brand. I would guess she is generally a US size 8 though.

Hey beks..I’m australian too and I believe a us 2 is more like our 8. A US 2 is a UK 6..and we are always a size bigger than the UK.

And, I think with vanity sizes she definitely could be wearing a 2. She is probably on average more of a 6. Again, though, a size 6 is not fat! I wish she would have said this. Who really cares if she did lie or not? Her size is not really anyone’s business.

I think she looks like a size 4-6, which means she probably could have fit in some vanity size 2. She always looks like she’s wearing pants that are way too baggy on the legs though. People who are saying she’s a size 12 are nuts, she’s a size 8 at the most.

Thanks to vanity sizing, I now wear a smaller size than I did in high school, even though I’m 20 pounds heavier!
Just because someone wears a 0 or 2 doesn’t mean they have anorexia. Like previous posters have said, shorter people wear smaller sizes by default.
I’m sure these photos make use of the worst camera angles and lighting possible. She probably isn’t as heavy as she appears in these photos.
I disagree with anon about HAY’s comment. HAY was simply pointing out that a size 2 can be a lot larger these days than you might think. She was not trying to seek compliments for being a 0-2!
Perhaps JLH is a size 2 in some clothing, like from Old Navy or J. Crew. I think these pictures were taken with the worst angles and worst lighting possible. Modeling poses are never taken from such vantage points!
