Janice Dickinson Admits To Past Bulimia

Former supermodel Janice Dickinson (who has also appeared in the UK comedy “I’m a celebrity, get me out of here!“) recently admitted that she suffered from bulimia, alcoholism and cocaine addiction during her career. She also spoke about the abuse she suffered as a child, which actually fueled her into making something of herself.
She says, “I was told on a daily basis by my father that I would never amount to anything and that I looked like a boy. […]”
So yet another celebrity comes out of the eating-disorder closet… who is next?
Ugh, can’t stand her. She has a gross body and no class.

of course all these celebrities are “coming out” it’s impossible to stay totally skinny your entire life if you DONT have an eating disorder. This should be a message to women out there that celebrities are not “naturally skinny”, they starve themselves and purge in order to maintain their physique.

i dont know why she ever got [plastic surgery. look up pictures of her when she was young and new to the modeling scene she was one of the most beautiful and extrodinary people ive ever seen. now she just looks messed up.

I agree she was BEAUTIFUL when she was young, but I still like her and think she looks pretty good.
I know she’s talked about the cocaine and alcohol addictions–I’ve not heard about the bulimia, but of course I’m not surprised.
She’s not a very “nice” person, but I bet she’s entertaining to hang out with!
she is horrifying! God she looks like a haggard bitter old woman,and she has the personality to match. I do not like her at all. She has always seemed nasty in my opinion.

“I’m a Celebrity” isn’t a comedy, it’s a celebrity “reality” tv-show.
I like Janice, poor woman.
I love Janice! She is who she is and she doesn’t apologize for it…I admire her outspoken-ness and(like those who critisize us New Yorkers for our candor),those who find her too crass are obviously just wayyy too soft.

i never liked her on ANTM because of her insistence on the girls being as skinny as possible, when she was a model it wasn’t that way even then she probably was living of drugs instead of food
she has had a difficult life so? she isn’t the only one, it is no excuse to make a career out of selling your s*x files and expose your little black book

I’ve been watching the earlier cycles of ANTM - what a horrible woman.
She hardly offered any CONSTRUCTIVE critism.

I repsect her in some ways, but not in others, and I think it’s sad what she had to endure in life. This woman must learn however, sometimes you just have to keep your mouth shut.
Americas Next Top Model just isn’t the same without her… Maybe last season would have been better if Janice had been calling Tyra fat the whole time.
She’s been through a lot in her lifetime…incest, abuse, etc. It doesn’t surprise me that she was bulimic. I think she’s a very opinionated woman, but at least she speaks her mind and isn’t afraid of what people think of her.

She talked about her ED behaviors a while ago in her first book…I wouldn’t say she’s doing it for publicity especially since it goes along with her family background (she was really abused by her parents) and her profession as a fashion model…
Yeah… but I actually believe this one. a tonnn of models have some sort of eating problem, or drugs, or something. so im not surprised to hear it.

And the truly scary part really is that she thinks she looks so fabulous. Reality is that her extreme underweight-ness actually is making her look older than she would if she were a healthy weight. Why women don’t get this I will never know. It’s the body fat that creates a look of youth. Why do you think that women get their faces ‘filled out’ with injectables?
I guarantee that if she gained even 5 pounds, she would look younger ….

She is 50…. and I was just thinking about her last night while watching her tv show.
I expected her to have an eating disorder. There is no way she can stay THAT thin at her age without exercising excessively, or having anorexia or bulimia.

And I agree with whoever said it, she was absolutely stunning before the plastic surgery … she doesn’t even look like the same person anymore.
This is really, really old news. She’s published several books on the subject throughout the last decade and openly discussed all of these things on The Surreal Life.

I really liked her on I’m A Celeb… she seems like she’s come up from a rough background with her parents and yet not ended up in the guttter, or let it destroy her. Plus, she’s funny, and the only bit about her surgery I’m not mad on is her mouth, I think her forehead looks cool though and she does NOT look her age, not compared to someone like Teri Hatcher

Why is it, if a woman’s done drugs she’s a victim and a survivor (not saying she sez that about herself mind, but in the press and general opinion) and yet if a man’s done them, he’s cool and a rebel?
Like, take Stephen Tyler (who JD quite resembles in some shots!) - you can’t tell me that guy was on the Govt recommended 2000 - 2500 calories a day throughout his rock n’rolling youth, plus he drugged and drank like crazy, but he’s considered cool and like some kind of outlaw, yet a woman does that, she’s some poor lost soul?

she was one of the most beautiful women i’v ever seen when she was younger! she was an excellent model and was never ashamed of herself and always confident. that i can admire in a person ….

Just like 8 out of 10 professional baseball players have taken some kind of steriod / enhancement, 8 out of 10 supermodels have an eating disorder or some kind STRICT diet. And I honestly don’t blame them… it’s their job to look good on a runway, and they do whatever it takes to succeed.
Oh and for those of you who claim models eat like normal people you are dead wrong. I was in the industry and know what goes on.

Ok, it’s not true that she just admitted to be bulimich. she has always been straigt forward and she has never denied to have a eating disorder. I just thought it was worth mentioning. Not all celebs hide their problems, and she is surdentlig not one of them….

Mz Dickenson or whatever she calls herself is so so annoying. She is loud and old, very old looking. She needs to gain at least 10-15lbs so that she can stop looking so darn old. Oh yeah, she also will need to lay off them daily plastic surgery that she keeps getting done. Why can’t people just accept the fact that they are aging. On another note; whoever keeps telling these celebrities that they look good needs to go to jail. She walks out and bout with so much confidence than she should have. What she needs to do, is dig a hole and dive in, hide, hibernate with some food. AND not reveal herself until them darn plastic throughout her entire body wears off. primarily on that darn face. EWWW

I was a model but walked away from the eating disorders and the cocaine because I didn’t want to slowly kill myself - those things are the common price of catwalk fame… I’m looking at that woman and thinking I would have turned out like her if I had stayed in the business… suddenly I’m feeling EXTRA good about myself!

I think it’s completely simple to stay skinny your whole life if you watch what you eat, work out, or have a fast metabolism. you don’t necessarily have to have an eating disorder. it’s just ridiculous to assume that, some people are just lucky i guess. I feel bad that she had to go through that though.
