Is Anna Kournikova Getting Thinner?

And now an Anna Kournikova update… she was spotted in Paris earlier this week, looking super-chic but very, very skinny as per usual.

Even with all the layers of clothing on, you can tell her legs are stick-thin. I wonder if she is losing weight again? What do you all think?

(On an unrelated side note, I absolutely love her boots and bag!)

    gorgeous! =)

  • Luna |

    Very skinny indeed!

  • Mares |

As a tennis player, I do not understand how her legs are so skinny. I am a thin framed girl, if not even on the skinny side…but my legs are toned from playing tennis.

  • choco |

she looks awesome - her clothes that is. her legs look skinny-mini.

  • missmarnip |

    uuuuuugly.
she should go back to those fuzzy yellow balls.

  • amma |

…Can’t believe I’m saying this, but she is too thin. Just a tiny bit too thin–like nothing 5-10lbs wouldn’t fix. She’s really cute {love the hair}…but her legs in these photos are…ugh! It could be the outfit too that is making her look too skinny.
But legs should not look bony/skeletal. That is just gross.

  • Jacquelin |

Beautiful but too skinny again. Even her face in that first picture looks thinner - and as someone who has puffy cheeks naturally like her I know that is hard to do!

  • Caroline |

those legs look uncomfortable to walk on

  • krissy |

    her thighs looked photoshopped here.

  • breads |

taking the whole match stick look to whole new levels, but aint she one hell of well dressed match stick woman
you got to hang on to the positives

  • Tucker |

Very skinny, and her legs are not photoshopped, they always look like that.

She used to have such a hot body, so fit and athletic. Not anymore…

  • Annie |

Much too thin. She doesn’t look athletic at all, just sickly.

  • lux |

How can she stand on those things?

  • Mandy |

ugh nasty skinny legs. I bet they are even worse under those jeans. She used to be so athletic looking.

  • SupermodelSuzie |

You can tell by how her boots fit that she’s much too thin. That happens to me when I drop too low, I can’t wear knee high boots because they’re actually “baggy” and don’t look right.

  • Natasha |

Hard to tell with the layers but I like her legs

  • Skinny Eater |

    She missed a button [ /end OCD comment ]

Did Enrique accidentally super glue that cap to his head? He’s always wearing it!

  • kikki |

she is a bit too skinny but she is sooo beautifull!

  • Pink Cashmere |

It’s weird. Her legs are like knitting needles but her face stays the same. How is that possible?

  • jkat |

I miss her super fit toned body. She used to be so hot. Now she is just sad looking.

  • jkat |

Her face stays teh same because she is eastern european. We are all have the tell-tale chubby cheeks that never go away

  • mandolin_rb |

HER OUTFIT IS SOOO HOT!! Who cares about the rest?!

  • Lynsey |

Her legs look too skinny but her face looks ok. LOVE the boots.

Am i the only one who didnt know that jamie lynne spears and lily allen are both pregnant!?!

  • anelej |

    O M G !!!!
her legs are so thin! she is overall thin, but the legs!

it would be nice if you can do another post about her dressed in another way.

  • midnight |

she’s way too skinny (major case of zombie hands in plain sight there), but damn, I love that outfit head to toe!

  • madison |

her legs are way too skinny! but i’m still jealous…

  • andrea |

    I think she looks great!

  • Jenna |

She looks awesome…I neeeeeed those boots

  • LC |

She wouldn’t be able to run around the court with those stick thin legs. I liked her the best when she was athletic and muscular.

  • Karla |

it seems like she is walking on her arms hahaha
whatever i love her outfit too

  • Lenore |

I’m surprised her hair isn’t falling out in clumps at that weight. Anyone who envys those legs is messed up in the head, it’s disgusting!

  • Alyssa |

Disgusting legs. Her face looks good - young and cute, because she’s always had that angelic cherub face, but her legs sicken me. No shape, no appealing lines, and terrible proportions

  • Susan |

Cool outfit, but those boots just don’t look like they fit properly. Her legs look too thin, but her face looks great. She’s beautiful.

  • Lauren |

    her legs are toothpicks!

  • jed |

Of the 18 threads dedicated to Anna Kournikova this year which I counted in the archives, I think the August 16th one was best. She has redeveloped a serious eating disorder since then.

  • ph3nix |

    effing gorgeous. period.

  • Jeez |

This makes me sad. God, our culture is hard on women.

  • breads |

jeez, you have said all that needs to be said about the people posting here loving this body
society demands them to be thin as possible and they fall for it and do all they can to achieve it
after all how esle will they be able to compete with the pack if thy arent thinner than the competition
women lib movement has been all for nothing, what a waste

  • Jeez |

thank you breads! I just put this up in another post, but i was commenting how much harder women seem to be on each other’s appearances than men are (about women’s appearances)… why are we being driven toward this hyper-critical and unattainable, unhealthy ideal?

  • Ellie |

I’m so sick of hearing photoshop. Why would someone waste their time and skills photoshopping all of these candid photos to make her legs look skinnier? That’s stupid. She’s too skinny…eww. Her legs look like baseball bats.

  • Mandi |

I’m jealous, I think she looks amazing and I love her legs. But I think she’s bulimic…

  • Vomit |

Anna’s face no longer looks beautiful from front-on as it did when she was healthy. The cheeks look even fatter because her structure is naturally wide, but she has no weight on them to hold them up anymore.

She could stand 10lbs of fat. 20lbs of muscle would be ideal.

  • breads |

    jeez i blame us, women
we have the financial power to demand models who aren’t the walking dead, who else is buying their handbags clothes etc.. we all are and consumer power is the only reason companies change
magasines won’t put skinny 13yr olds in magasines for 20-30yr olds if we stop buying it
marc jacobs will stop using the walking dead on his shows if we stopped buying his clothes (which i think people should he is using victoria beckham for god sake)
miramax will stop casting bobble head actresses to play the girl next door if people stop watching the films where they do this
if we stop buying magasines where tara ried or lindsay lohon is mocked for being a little tubby then maybe they will carry on being healthy and not resort to turning into nicole richies clones
jodi said it all once, where she grew up if you do not fit in with the fit, skinny and good looking at all times expectations put on women (by other women i bet) you wont be in the competition (makes you think what competition, men like women in all sizes, fact )
we all know when you go to a party its the chicks that size each other up, and the skinniest or prettiest gets grief from every other female and it makes me mad, we need to learn to be congratulate each other and stop competing, if a girl is hot admit it and get on with your life, you do not need every guy in a room to fancy you to survive, well i dont

  • Lena |

shes looks horrid and skinny. I really dont like her, she is a lame tennis player who in my opinion has only got as far as she has due to her “Barbie” style. i have no respect for her.

  • breads |

i am not sure if it was jodi or maxx05 come to think of it but someone who lives in johns wood or st johns wood??

  • thalia |

Good posts here. Breads and Jeez are speaking the bottom line.
And, Lena, you are so right. She’s a B-level player at best, and we wouldn’t know her from Adam if she hadn’t done all that bending over on the court to display her a$$.
And now we can call it a disgustingly bony a$$. Yuck.

  • BethanyB |

Anna is pretty, but she does look unhealthy thin to me.

I agree with breads to an extent, but the biggest issue is there is a monopoly on the too-thin standard. ALL the designers and magazines promote it. If there was a healthier alternative, then great. But as for right now, unless if you want to use only DOVE products, wear no designer clothes, and only buy Newsweek, it’s tough to not indirectly support the trend.

I mean, I think the models look ridiculous and unhealthy in magazines like IN STYLE or GLAMOUR but I still buy them sometimes to read the other stuff.

  • mamalisa |

wow, stick figure with a coat on

  • blabla |

i agree with breads, it’s the women that encourage the standard. i mean, i hardly know any men who find super skinny women attractive, or more attractive than curvy ones. and i’ve asked that question a lot.

    Women are wolves to women.

    like the scarf.

  • BethanyB |

& I should add that in the last few years, I think the internet and tabloids have been pushing a really awful mentality toward putting each other down, invading privacy, and being nasty toward each other (on messageboards). And women do contribute an awful lot to this trend.

One thing that is in our power is to not be so dang critical of others AND not be nasty beeyotches to each other on blogs and msg boards.

You don’t just see it on celeb blogs - u see it everywhere. I was reading some online news post a couple months ago about the wildfires in CA, and some people in the Comments section were like “good, serves those rich asses right for building their homes in the hills.” Since when did it become okay to rejoice over other people’s misfortunes? I think the tabloid industry is really creating a mentality where people think it’s funny to be nasty to others, period.

But I digress…I do vote for promoting health! :-)

  • Spectra |

She’s an ATHLETE, for cripes’ sake…where is her muscle?? She’s definitely too skinny. I’m an athlete myself and although I’m slim, I do have muscle to fill out my body. There’s probably a good reason she’s no Venus or Serena Williams…they actually have muscles and strength to, you know, PLAY TENNIS. As opposed to Anna, who has average to below-average strength and seems to only be good at posing for the press.

  • CJ |

Breads I totally agree… i fall victim to that type of thinking time and time again…. I always size up other women, as I know they size me up… It’s a b*tchy, B*tchy world out there…. I wish we weren’t so hard on each other….

  • Beth |

    I miss athletic Anna

  • andrea |

    Female solidarity= good.
However, it goes both ways. I don’t walk up to girls who I DO, in my HEAD, consider fat and tell them this. But girls tell me I’m too skinny a lot. You don’t want to work out every day? You DO want to stuff your face with carbs? Fine. Go ahead, do what you want. I’ll deal with you when you come see me about your blood pressure and cholesterol.
But I’m sick of hearing about “Unattainable” and “Unhealthy”. Obviously it IS attainable, because there are lots of girls who are this size. Whether this specimen is healthy or not, I don’t know, I don’t watch her eat. Being a size 2 or size 0 or whatever is VERY attainable. All you have to do is try- work out every day, watch what you eat. Works fine for me, and I used to think I was one of those girls who could just “Never get thin”. Turns out I was just lazy!
Being healthy and fit brings me joy. Working out clears my mind and helps me sleep better at night and concentrate when I have to study. Those of us who put effort into our bodies aren’t always sick. Stop seeing it that way and maybe we can think about moving toward leaving each other alone.

  • Elaine |

I like the thin look, I just don’t understand the chubby face.

  • marsha |

oh my god, she looks ridiculously thin. she’s pulling it off in these pictures yes but imagine seeing her in real life… and her outfit is so tacky… she has no style whatsoever.

  • anne |

wow andrea…its great that you work out (even though Im not interested in hearing about it) but for a lot of people being a 0 IS unattainable. Some people are just not built that way, it does not mean that you are not active if you don’t fit into a size 2 or 0…people who are very very fit can be bigger than that!!!! Id be interested to know what you consider fat…a size 4????? I agree that you should not be criticized for being too thin if that is your body, but you should never assume that people are lazy and stuffing their faces just bc they arent the same size as you

  • anne |

AND as you can see from some of the other posts many people dont consider being as thin as anna is right now attractive. You say all you have to do is try? maybe people dont WANT to be a size 0!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i work out daily and watch what I eat but my goal is never to try to be a size 0, it is to maintain my figure and be healthy. If someone is very thin it definately does not mean you are sick, you are right andrea, but at the same time if you are a not a size 2 or 0 you can have a great body and be very healthy and in shape. You act like there is only very skinny and fat. There is a lot of sizes in between there that are in the healthy range.

  • Jeez |

Yeah, andrea, your logic does have some fault. I’m a size 2; that is what my body has naturally settled into after the ups and downs of younger years and with a healthy diet/exercise. I have friends who are in way better shape than me but are not and never will be below a certain size because of the way that they are built. It shouldn’t be about being a certain number, it should be about maintaining a healthy weight for your body -everything in moderation, right?

  • elyse |

i know what andrea is saying… overweight people wouldn’t tolerate (and wouldn’t be expected to tolerate) so much commentary about their weight, but thin people are supposed to just accept it. in high school, people i didn’t know would yell at me in the hallways and call me a toothpick. if i had yelled back at them that they were a marshmallow, i would have gotten in trouble.

  • andrea |

that’s hilarious, and exactly what I thought would happen if I said what I really think about the issue. Women who press for acceptance are really only interested in acceptance of larger bodies, while retaining the right to criticize skinny girls, call them anorexic, call them 12 year old boys, etc.

And, by the way, I don’t think a size 4 is fat.

  • lauraaaaaaa |

    photoshoppppppp

  • lauraaaaaaa |

    (you guys are too gullible)

  • breads |

    andrea
i think you have every right to call fat people fat
what the point molly cuddling it like they are something different, this why fat kids parents aren’t made accountable for their bad parenting, a fat person that is fat should know it like queen latifah
but being fat isn’t a crime if you really can’t stop eating alot, shot puttters and some athletes who are clearly fit but are fat, obesity on the other hand is just sick

  • Rosanna |

Andrea right on!!! I work out 3 times a week (weight lifting, to put on muscle because I can’t stand to look thin and starved, and prefer to look muscular even tho not too much), and definitely watch what I eat in that I need to eat proteins in order to gain.

I agree with the girl who said that sizes depend on the frame a person has. Some persons are a skinny size 6 and some are a fat size 2 it all depends on how big one’s pelvic bone is. Mine is 34-35 inches so I’m a size 0-2 even when I have too much fat on my stomach. People like Rachel Weisz are a size 4 even when they are skinny because their pelvis is bigger. People like Longoria are a size 0 because their pelvis is smaller.

In short, a size per se doesn’t mean much because it doesn’t say how big (or small or regular) your pelvis is. Therefore the point of “which size is skinny/fat enough” is just MUTE.

Kournikova looks like a nice size 4 to me, so it’s unhealthy for her to be any smaller. Similarly, Sharapova looks like a 2 so probably a size 4 would be too much for her.

The right size depends on what one’s bone structure can afford.

  • Maxx05 |

She’s quite thin, and very pretty. I hope she’s not ill with any issue, but I don’t mind the thinness myself, as long as she’s not hurting herself. If she’s harming herself to be thin then it’s awful. Andrea, you’re awesome - you’re my vote for best newcomer to the Skinny Website!

  • Cossey |

I’ll show her where those tennis balls should go!

  • Maxx05 |

YAY! Cossey’s back! The world is a better place again, Jodi, laughter has arrived here!!!!

  • Maxx05 |

Now everybody be reeeaaallly good because Santa Cossey wants you to sit on his lap and have you telll him what you want….

  • Natasha |

    Rosanna, did you mean MOOT?

  • Jodi |

Breads, it was Maxx05 who said that stuff about the competition in her city (Boston). :-)

    I agree 100%

I think Anna may be too thin for Anna, but I don’t think she looks that thin. My boots fit me that way and I am far from being too thin.

  • Mrs. Norton |

    she’s nasty
but those boots are so hot

  • sandy2 |

Famous for next to nothing and now, sadly, victim to societal pressure to be too thin. Like the purse, but the overall effect of the outfit says “trying too hard.”

  • Supahmodel |

Ok, first of all, I think she totally pulls off the skinny look, but yes, she did look better at a healthier weight. Love the outfit and I simply adore her hair.
    xox

  • justine |

wow my mouth opened in shock at the sight of her legs. way too thin.
you guys don’t really think she plays tennis anymore do you?
    ya right!
when she can walk around that thin and have her pictures taken, why go back to tennis.

  • anne |

andrea im glad you find it funny bc you were the one clearly looking for a reaction…you’ve made your point skinny people should not be criticized (we get it youre very skinny) which I already said I agreed with. the point that was trying to be made was actually that you dont seem to think that you can be bigger than a size 2 if you work out and eat healthy, maybe you should look back at your first statement. AGAIN you are only talking about extremes very thin and fat.. no one ever said anything about “large” bodies at least thats not what i was referring to. I think it all the confusion comes with when people put queen latifah and jessica simpson under the same category “curvy” when one of them is clearly overweight and the other is not. I think what your posts are completely justified and bring up a good point that no one really talks about i just have a problem with you generalizing your statements…assuming that ALL people who talk about acceptance are only referring to larger bodies is just not accurate…its very frustrating

  • sombe |

She’s clearly too thin. AND given that this is a website that is all about scrutinizing and criticizing celebrities’ weight fluctuations, I don’t believe acceptance has any place here.

  • sombe |

She’s clearly too thin. AND given that this website is all about scrutinizing and criticizing celebrities’ weight fluctuations, I don’t believe acceptance has any place here.

  • May |

She’s not naturally this thin so this doesn’t look healthy

  • cosmicgirl |

eww she looks gross, shes an athlete shes supposed to be healthy and fit in order to have a lot of energy, aaaah, i cant look at her …so sick !!!!!!!EAT WOMAN EAT

  • christy |

    what’s wrong with her legs?

  • looker mike |

shes hot! i like when skinny queens like her wear boots and their legs are so beautifully skinny that they fail to fill the boots correctly. yummy…

  • Mouse |

who cares about size? just be active and eat well. I don’t think Anna is either active (yeah Justine, I doubt she plays tennis anymore), or eats well. Legs looks far too fragile here. Great boots, but they don’t fit her. I’m surprised they don’t fall off when she lifts her feet.

Andrea….I’m quite thin myself from being a wkend warrior/endurance athlete and get grief from people all the time and add to that the bulemia accusations b/c I eat like a truck driver to support my training. So I get your personal frustration over wagging fingers, but size and body composition is an extremely poor indicator of health and fitness level. Serena Williams, big girl, one of the world’s top athletes. And my teammate who’s a good 160lbs at 5′5″, who whoops my ass in every race we compete. I don’t think either women could ever be called unhealthy?

I have no sympathy for the inactive person who eats poorly & whines about weight, but it’s f’ed up to judge people for not meeting your physical standards or matching your excercise habits.

  • MarikaJ |

andrea, I couldn’t have said it better. I didn’t get the impression you were attacking anyone larger than you. Some people become very skinny as a result of simply eating and exercising moderately. Some people don’t. It doesn’t make the skinnier one automatically unhealthy.

Although considering what Anna used to look like, I think she does look unhealthy here.

  • SarahK |

She looks like Euro trash, like an Eastern European hooker.

  • Edan |

    She looks like shit.
If you think this is healthy, get a clue, and a sandwich.

  • FW |

even with all those layers you can see her stick legs and old lady wrists - i think she looks gawd awful - she used to look terrific when she was still playing professional tennis - what happened??? maybe it’s dating that skinny enrique? no woman wants to be bigger than her boyfriend

  • bubbly |

I actually freaking wish my legs would look like this….

Love her whole outfit here, especially the boots.

  • MarikaJ |

Wow, nothing like an Anna Kournikova post to weed out the E.D. commenters.

“OMG! Her legs looks gorgeous!” Sigh. Nothing says gorgeous like a pacemaker and false teeth.

  • Reese |

Love those boots, wonder what they are?

    Too skinny

  • fifi |

she`s so boring, even that gorgeous gucci boots look boring when she wears them :-(

  • kendra |

    omg her legz are amazing!!!!!!!!!

  • Jennie |

    Her legs are yuck!

  • loli |

    *****************i want those shades************************

  • Tina |

    She is getting scary skinny.

  • Mel |

Well that’s sad she’s getting too thin, but damn does she look amazing!

  • mika |

    wow, she looks great!

the second photo looks like a fashion shot

  • Spanish Coyote |

I LOVE HER BOOTS!!!! PLEASEEEE ANYBODY KNOW THE BRAND????

  • Fiona |

    I agree 100% with blabla.

Sadly she looks like an anorexic, very skinny with a full face.

  • bianca |

she’s skinny to the point where its beyond attractive. i think she has the most beautiful face and colouring, if she gained 10kg i think she’d look 10 times better

  • sky |

with an outfit that like that it would look so much better with a figure in it! wrapped up and cosy in layers lol. She is too thin, she you can still see it quite obviously with those thick clothes on.

  • bleh |

Disgustingly skinny. Those legs are pathetic and depressing.

  • Pamela Susan Courson |

ha,ha @bleh! Could that be photoshopped? Her legs look so unreal and sooo small!

  • Jasmine |

her body is fine it looks nice but we should cut off the face.

  • Agnes |

    :-o

  • sotired |

she looks skinny,no curvy looks gross, dont like her body or face, why is she famous, not a good tennis player!!!!!

  • Tamzin |

    thats disgusting- shes too thin!

  • Kendall |

How could her legs possibly be that thin! That’s not cute…not at all.
