How The “Sex And The City” Gals Got In Shape For The Movie

I’m sure we’ve all questioned at some point how the fabulous 40-something (and one 50-something) gals from Sex and the City stay in shape and look 10+ years younger than they are. Furthermore, I’ve personally wondered how they got in shape for the movie, which is supposedly set to be released in May of 2008.
Thanks to People Magazine and the official SATC Movie Blog, now we know. According to them…
- Kim Cattrall. 51 (Samantha) does a LOT of cardio - she “literally works her ass off”. She also gets weekly massage treatments to keep her skin looking young. Apparently it works - she has a marvelous figure and doesn’t look anywhere near her age!
- Sarah Jessica Parker, 42 (Carrie) doesn’t reveal how she stays in shape (darn!) but admits to getting “Sapphire 3 Photo Abrasion facials”, which use light therapy to promote collagen production in the skin.
- Kristin Davis, 42 (Charlotte) runs and does Pilates and Yoga to keep fit. Plus, she adds, “This is the healthiest set I’ve ever been on. We eat, but we eat healthy.” She says Green Bars are her favorite snack.
- Cynthia Nixon, 41 (Miranda) unfortunately reveals pretty much nothing about her exercise plan. She only admits to having dyed her hair back to red for the movie. (She is naturally a blond).

Kim Cattrall is unbelievable, Kristin Davis is amazing cause she was once addicted to drugs, but has totally come around now, she looks really healthy. SJP has a great body, but I think her face looks rather old. Cynthia Nixon looks good, not great, but very good.
Shame SJP didnt say much. She amazes me with a figure like that.
SJP has the BEST body (her legs and her stomach are amazing)!!! It is too bad she didn’t “reveal” more. They all look great though and I CANNOT wait for the movie!!!!!

Top example of why we don’t need to go to pieces once we hit 30 - I loved the show, I’m hoping the movie will be good and I totally look up to all of them for staying in shape, and those photos in the article are amazing!
What I think is that I’ve never watched that show.
But those women all look fabulous.
It is good that SJP has a nice figure because her face is unfortunate. My boyfriend shudders in disgust/terror every time she’s on TV.
I don’t personally care for any of them, and I don’t watch this show, but I think the brunette is by far the most attractive.
They all look wonderful, bodies are better than before.
the clothes in that picture make them look like they have big behinds - and SJP dressed like a clown in that show - it was hilarious! - i get wanting to look your best for a movie but this sounds like they totally let themselves go and then worked out like crazy 2 months before filming? except for SJP who doesn’t seem to eat and does ballet all the time - her legs are gross skinny and her face looks like a witch
It’d be nice if they “revealed” more, but hmm…. I wonder if it could be….proper diet and exercise?

They all look great! Not much difference between the “then” and “now” pix.
Sarah Jessica Parker was pretty much born a size 0, it does happen on occasion. I think if you go all the way back to “Honeymoon in Vegas” in the early 90s (heck even Square Pegs in the 80’s) she was NEVER any bigger than she is now, except when pregnant.
Is it just me or has Kim Catrell been 51 for a few years now? I seem to remember her being listed as 51 in an article when Kristen Davis was 40

It’s not just you, lambman, Kim Cattrel has been 51 since Sex and The City ended like four years ago. I think it would be much more impressive if she just said what her real age was, because it’s not like she looks it.
it amazes me that kim catrall is at least 10 years older than the other women on the set, and yet she looks as if she is the same age as a ll of them!

i worked at chelsea piers in manahattan this summer and sjp would come in and work with a trainer in the gym doing toning exercises and whatnot.

Love,love,love the show. I even love the re-runs. Love these women. They all look fantastic. I always thought Kristin Davis was the most beautiful, but they are all gorgeous, really.
SJP does alot of Yoga and Ballet exercises. She was involved with a work out video with the New York City Ballet a while back. I have also seen her being interviewed and she says she eats fairly healthy, but doesn’t diet and eats everything in moderation. I love her body!!
They all look like healthy, attractive women. They make me appreciate older women more than I already do.

Loved the show, but whenever I see a post about this movie or its stars I think boring boring boring. People love the reruns, but if fans turn out in droves to support at the box office I’ll be kind of surprised, but who knows. Still like the ladies and wish ‘em well but it’s just not interesting anymore, though I seem to be in the minority.
I see SJP all the time in the neighborhod, and her face looks older than 42. Almost as if her face reflects the fact that she might be too thin and needs better nutrition. I mean Kristen Davis is curvier and her face looks great.
Now, Kim would look so much better if she stopped dressing like a woman 20 years younger. She ends up looking like an old hag who’s trying to hard.
Kristin Davis looks STUNNING - she has always been so gorgeous looking and very healthy - lovely skin and hair. Cynthia Nixon looks better every year as well and Kim Cattrell looks amazing - lots younger than whatever her actual age is.
SJP, on the other hand, not so good. On the close-ups of her in the wedding dress shots for the movie, she’s all veiny looking. Ick.
