Weight-wise, she still looks to be about the same!

Breads, I agree! Most Improved Award or something. She is wearing some cute shoes though. She looks better than normal, full bodied and almost charming. How old is she? And why does she almost always insist on dressing like a twenty year old? I hate it when women (and men for that matter) refuse to grow older more gracefully. She truly would look HOT if she was a little more toned down…thirtysomethings have their own awesome beauty. It always looks like she is trying too hard and that is never attractive.
And she is not “on the verge of obesity.” Geez, she’s average, smaller than average even and she looks good I can’t stand it anymore…if you aren’t rail thin you are obese?? That’s just crazy!

Mariah looks fit. Sure she could lose a few pounds but if this is her healthy weight then she looks pretty good to me.

I don’t know if it’s the fact that she’s top heavy, always wearing 6″ heels, but to me she looks like a body builder sucking in and holding her breath for all it’s worth….she never looks relaxed, or look like she’s even breathing.
I like her body, even when it’s heavier. I hear what breads is saying, but she still looks as trashy as always. I wonder if she sleeps in 4″ heels :-/

I.M.O. ; … I think that these pics of Mariah are rather flattering to her figure and body “A.T.M.” (Mariah does fluctuate a few pounds here and there just as the MAJORITY of us (females) do at times ) !!!! Here, her clothes (pictured in these “pics”) seem to do her “body good”…Mariah, especially !!! Some of the things she wears is usually …”like Mariah is poured into” OR she is “sewn into” at the very last moment within “an inch of her life” and seems to leave her (Mariah) without any …like no room to breathe (inhaling or exhaling) ! I agree w/you, Rian. Mariah looks really good here in this piece.
HEY, RIAN….I KNOW all about MIGRAINES. (I’m an ongoing perpetual sufferer of them So, So, So, So OFTEN) !!! Hope that you are soon over this particular migraine !!! I’m pulling for you !! Do you get them (migrianes) on somewhat of a regular basis that you have to keep medicine around ( “on hand” ) for when these migraines flare up ??? I KNOW that I do !

She needs gastic bypass?!? What a joke! Um, no. People who are endangering their health so much with their weight that it’s worth the major surgery risk may need it.
Now I’m not saying she isn’t on the heavy side. She is, particularly for someone who seems so determined to shove herself in the spotlight at any opportunity but there’s this other thing people who don’t have 100+ lbs. to lose sometimes do called….a diet.
Or she might just be happy with her body as it is now. As pointed out above, at least she’s finally dressing like she accepts her body how it is!
That being said now I could do without her flaunting those big old footballer shoulders and we might be OK.

This is a very solid human being. Extaordinary level of talent. Very sensitive—which leads to sort of destructive, or off-putting responses, some times. She was very slender when she was 19—she gradually became kind of fat—-she recognized it, and dealt with it. I suppose she could fight mother nature and try to get even more unnaturally skinny, but I cannot believe it would look as good as her well-proportioned, well toned body she has now.
She has been dressing less trashy, lately—all of us are still growing up, one way or another.
This is a genuinely spectacular woman.

Hey Karrie, thanks for your nice comments! The migraine is gone. I get them every couple of months or so - not as often as I used to. I don’t have meds for them, because as I’ve found, the cure is often worse than the ailment when it comes to migraine meds. (Once had an AWFUL experience at a hospital when I got an IV med for it.) But nowadays I take several advil and go back to bed.
I think everyone, or at least the majority of people should have bangs, including her.

Ok I’m a fan of this site and visit it regularly. I understand that Rian’s purpose of this site is to discuss the bodies of celebrities, and I commend Rian for doing it in a respectful way. I also understand that everyone has their opinion, and this is just mine. I think that to say Mariah Carey needs gastric bypass surgery is not only completely rediculous, it’s hurtful, amazingly inaccurate, and contributes to the defamation of the self-image problems that many women face today in america. I truly am sick to my stomach of people calling anyone over a size 4 fat. I was also disgusted at the comments in the Rhianna post. Someone said that she looked good except for her thighs/hips, and that she was probably good for childbirthing. What kind of a sexist comment is that? Do we live in the jungle? ME MAN, YOU WOMAN, BIG HIPS = HEALTHY BABY! (for the record, I am female) I think that comment alone put us back about 50 years. We should be soooo far ahead at this point. I feel like I’m in a classroom full of under-educated 3rd graders competing in an academic bowl against severely advanced high-schoolers. Grow up america!!! Read books and get over girls having Nicole Ritchie’s body. NO ONE IS SUPPOSED TO LOOK LIKE THAT UNLESS THEY WERE BORN THAT WAY!

I mean, she’s thicker than I would like MYSELF to be, but it works okay for her because of her boobs and hips. Rian, i read somewhere the other day that those energy-saving lightbulbs trigger migraines. You know, the spiral ones? Not sure how scientific that info is though.

Ya know, I really hope I have a better body than she does at her age. She hasn’t had any kids so we get the point that she is naturally curvy and proud of it. But dress your age!!! Not the body type I like, but she looks better than she has for a while. She does look like she’s gotten more muscle and has lost some fat, good for her! I wish she hadn’t spoiled her body with those tacky implants. Her muscle tone actually looks pretty good here in most areas, she still needs to work on her arms. She would definitely look even better if she wore clothing with more material to them, but this is a definite improvement.

She would look a lot thinner if she wore pants and different shoes. She has a habit of wearing these tiny skirts and tops that make her look bigger than she is. With those shoes, her legs taper to such a degree that is makes her upper half look huge. If she wore pants that fit and shoes with less than a 5 in. heel, she’s look much more in proportion. That being said, I think her body looks great.

In no way shape or form do I think she is fat, some people on here are just really cruel. She has curves, and I think she looks way better than she did a year or so ago. Also, in the first picture you can tell she has some space in her skirt so she’s not that huge, and I think her large chest also makes her look bigger when in fact she isn’t that big. Honestly, I think she’s fine, it’s not like she’s modeling lingerie or bathing suits…
I think her breasts make her appear larger than she is. She’s probably the right weight for her height, we’re just used to skinny celebs.

I’m not really even sure what you meant by your comment. If you’re truly that offended, don’t view the site. And what does reading books have to do with anything - good advice, but if you find yourself to be “so above” all the people that think fat people are gross then just boycott the website. Why would having a distorted view of beauty make someone appear to have the intelligence of a third grader? I find that most of the time, an anorexic person is a hell of a lot smarter than an obese person. No one even wants to listen to what a fat person has to say. Harsh but true. And sure, saying that someone is “good for childbirthing” because they’re a little chunky may be sexist, but it’s true. Maybe we should break away from the woman-in-the-kitchen stereotype by NOT being the typical woman that doesn’t even have enough willpower to fit into a size zero.

She is NOT fat by any means! I saw her IN PERSON on New Year’s. I live here in Vegas & was at Tao where she rang in the New Year & my boyfriend & I were shocked at how BEAUTIFUL she looked- her face and body were perfection! She looks a lot slimmer in person with the right amount of curves. Her skin was also glowing.
