Katie Holmes Is Really Skinny
Katie Holmes seems to have lost quite a bit of weight (again?) recently… she was at the 13th Annual Critics’ Choice Awards Show Saturday night in a white toga-like dress, showing off very thin arms.
What do you all think - is she getting too thin?
It could be my imagination, but the weight loss seems to have aged her practically overnight!

Looks a little more like a toga and a curtain had a baby.
That first bob aged her a good fifteen years, but I guess I’m the only one who loves the bob-bangs combo on her. She looks really healthy here. For someone who’s naturally thin to begin with, this is what it looks like when they work out and eat healthy.

I read lots of tabloids and I remember glancing over a passage saying that Katie was having trouble conceiving a sibling for Suri–It may have to do with the lost weight. Some women can’t maintain their “womanly functions” without being a specific healthy size.

The dress is great for a stick-figure, but she’d look 100x better if she’d gain about 5-10 lbs. of muscle and wear a dress that worked with the new body. The underweight thing makes her look Tom’s age. Not good.

Wow- another one who’s aged considerably in the past couple of years! Remember Katie when she first met Tom and had long hair and a youthful glow? This is a different women entirely. She’s lost too much weight which has aged her face. Also she dresses like an old woman.

Weird that she looks so thin here - she looked a lot bigger in pics of her running the marathon a few months ago. She must be running a lot still and not eating a ton.
I am her same age with two babies and have to admit that I feel like the lack of sleep has aged my face…. I look much older now than just a few years ago….. and when I lose weight it takes the “plump” out of my face and lines/bags are more visible.
That being said, she hangs out with FREAKS and anyone would probably feel the need to lose weight when hanging out with V. Beckham.

It’s a hard thing though, the first thing that Plastic Surgeons suggest to older women who want face lifts is fat injections in your face because it makes you look younger.
But how do you get a somewhat healthy face and a really skinny / thin body? You don’t. Therefore you look 15 years older than you are. Exhibit A.

From straight on she looks a bit narrow for someone of her height. Her legs look toned, though. I don’t think she’s too thin yet, but she’s right on the border. I thought she looked the best she has ever looked right around the time when she got married.
She does look matronly in this photo but I’ve seen her look cute recently. Maybe she’s just pushing the “respectable wife and mother” angle a little too far right now. I think she’ll figure it out eventually.

She certainly isn’t a Critics Choice herself — unless all the Critics are Scientologists. In terms of her acting, she hasn’t done any (and judging by the plot synopsis and trailer, I highly doubt you can call her “performance” in Mad Money acting).

She isn’t too thin. This is how she looked before she got pregnant. She just has a really thin upper body and that’s all you see in this dress. She carries her weight in her hips and thighs. If this were a shorter dress, she would look heavier because you’d see her normal sized legs.

I bet she is too thin to get pregnant again. It happens sometimes when you become a runner, especially a distance runner. I’m a distance runner and I have ridiculously low body fat…it’s kind of what happens when you run 70+ miles a week. So if she wants to get preggers, she’ll have to gain some weight back.

I think she looks older because of her styling (dress, hair, make-up) not because she has physically aged. Also, one of the pictures was taken at a bad moment, giving the appearance of face wrinkles.
For some reason, she (or a stylist) wants to project a matronly look. Since she always looked so young and unsophisticated (esp on her TV show), she needs the frumpy toga dresses and short, sophisticated cut to change her image.
She doesn’t look unhappy to me. I wish I knew whether their marriage were real or contractual. I remember reading that she was his fifth choice of starlet to marry.

I think it is the nose job she obviously had that makes her look older. I think she also had something done to her right eye, like a lift or something, because it used to be different (a bit saggy) when she was younger. all of this makes her face look more mature. I have to say I like it though, I think she looks great. also weightwise (even though the toga she is wearing makes it difficult to really say what she actually looks like)

She looks good. Her upper body will always have to be kept skinny if she is to control the bulk of her lower body. Her face is beautiful but I don’t like the hair. It’s ‘mom’ hair.

Her body looks great. Her face does seem much older, but I think her makeup is really pretty and I like her hair.
I thought she was very plain before Tom and not someone I’d want to look like - but she looks good now - I’m not a fan of hers or Tom - Suri is a doll.

I don’t think she’s too thin at all….she looks very toned, like she’s really working at it. And as for aging ten years since she’s been with Tom, I hate to point out the obvious, but hasn’t it been 5 or 6 years they’ve been together? And don’t underestimate the aging effects of having a child!

all the people saying that she looks sick are sick themselves. The American epidemy of obesity has clouded our perception of a healthy body .
She looks great, losing all that baby fat. Enormous amoney that she can access to allows her to take better care of herself, with make-up, clothes, hair and proper injections.
Look, I honestly cannot stand her or the scientologist she is with, but she looks great. Props to her.

She’s one of those naturally skinny people, who always looks somewhat bony even though thy’re healthy… That’s my body type too and I’ve always had really well-defined, skinny arms, as well as ribs sticking out and the collarbones being prominent. That’s just how some people are… my wrists are actually tinier than my boyfriend’s ten year old cousin, who is also tiny. But I’m 5′5 so I could pass for petite where as Katie has a few good inches on me which I think makes her look even skinnier…

She has been really really skinny since well before Tom. If you saw seasons 5 or 6 of the creek she was just as skinny then, that why she was almost always in jeans and a sweater

confused, I agree, although I’m not sure what you meant about “injections”. Anyway, try working out and running marathons, people! You might lose weight! And if you’re thin to begin with, like Katy, you might even look skinny! Being thin isn’t some freakish anomaly or fantasy. It’s what the body naturally reverts to with proper nutrition and exercise. And good god, let the woman age! She had a kid and she IS ten yrs older! And IMO, the long-all-one-length hairdo looks best on teenagers.

i would notice one general thing. we shouldnt be so surprise when we see woman who has newborn or small kid that she has very thin hands and arms. when you care your baby everyday for hours it seems normal for me that your hand start to look thiner and toned. am i wrong?

I saw an interview of her on the red carpet recently (E! channel)… She is around my age, but now she looks WAY older than me… She needs a tiny but more chub on her.. it doesn’t suit her to be THAT thin. She just doensn’t look like herself. ALSO, why is she ALWAYS talking about cupcakes? Like, we KNOW you don’t eat them.. Or at least you don’t keep them down.
