she could have lost..but not much..

  2. schuk | 11/02/08

although she looks like she has gained, i love the dress

  3. squeegy | 11/02/08

that thing she does with her hands, like cupping her thighs or something?!
    that is so annoying

  4. tim jones | 11/02/08

I would f-u-c-k her as long as she didn’t talk. She could open her mouth, but it better be for importing and not for exporting.

  5. K | 11/02/08

ughhhhh she is so fat. Seriously. It’s inexcusable to be that large with all the resources she has (access to a personal trainer/ dietitian). I don’t think she has to be skeletal to be pretty, but she would look so much better AND HEALTHIER if she lost like, 20lbs.

  6. lily | 11/02/08

1st pic she looks great; 2nd pic? not so much.

  7. Lynda | 11/02/08

It looks like she’s had the back of the dress cut out (probably needed a larger size) and added the sheer panel to give her the extra room she needed, especially across the hips. Those two triangular panels at her lower back look like alterations and the extra fabric around her neck is probably what she had cut from the back of the dress.
Looks good on her, but she does look a bit bigger.

  8. kat | 11/02/08

i wouldnt call her FAT overall - like look at her waist and arms. but geez she has some huge legs!

  9. tim jones | 11/02/08

K, ugh I KNOW!!! How dare she have any conscious will. I feel, and this may just be me, but I get the feeling K will agree with me, that all celebrities should sign a contract when they make their first dollar stating, “I hereby agree to needlessly restrict my weight and food intake so I can remain skinny and compliment the publics’ perception of “health.”" It is so disrespectful that she even has any appreciable body fat on her at all. I mean come on. Why would my poor a-s-s want to look at her fat a-s-s?

  10. Jamie | 11/02/08

I think she looks beautiful!!! I don’t know why anyone would think she’s fat. She looks great!!!!!

  11. moi | 11/02/08

K: Now your just beeíng stupid! You can thin she´d look better thinner, but healthier? NOT!
    Anorexic looking doesn´t meen healthy.

  12. saviana | 11/02/08

I just think she’s sorta gross. Like, always so overdone. She has no idea what the word subtle means. Her dress/make up/hair is always over the top. She really need to learn how to downplay her less attractive “assets”.

  13. poops | 11/02/08

She looks like a tubular chocolate snack cake ready to burst at its sugary seams.

  14. Hart | 11/02/08

The dress is heinous and she has birthing hips.

  15. James von Sydow | 11/02/08

SHE IS BEAUTIFUL WOMEN WITH CURVES MM YÚMMIE AND YOU SKINNY BONEGIRLS YOU ARE NOT ATTRACTIVE TO MEN JUST SO U KNOW A LITTLE TIP

  16. kikki | 11/02/08

i love beyonce but she looks bad lately!what happens!

  17. parissucksliterally | 11/02/08

she usually looks the same to me…….maybe she’s gained 5-8 lbs……whatever.

  18. May | 11/02/08

She is not fat but she’s not in shape either.. I agree about her make-up, it’s often over the top and trashy

  19. Jasmine | 11/02/08

uuhh..sorry but yeah she is FAT. i mean she is. those things that surround her hips and arms are not muscles..

  20. Amanda | 11/02/08

She’s a big girl and she’s always going to be.

  21. annoyes | 11/02/08

Tim Jones need to get a life.

  22. annoyes | 11/02/08

Tim Jones need to get a life.

  23. Megan | 11/02/08

I can’t believe how big her ass got after she was thin for dream girls. I can’t stand her voice either.

  24. Stella | 11/02/08

She is thick, but doesn’t look unhealthy …look at her tiny waist. I don’t believe she’s lost any weight after seeing the Grammy’s last night. My first thought upon seeing her was that her legs are very, um broad. Also, Tina Turner (who is close to 3x Beyonce’s age) has better legs. I think those are just her natural proportions though. She’s still very beautiful and her figure is amazing. I’m actually jealous of ladies with hips because mine are practically nonexistent.

  25. Sian | 11/02/08

Beyonce has always been around this weight, she’s pear shaped and not naturally skinny, there’s nothing she can do about that. Just because she’s famous and has money doesn’t mean she can change her body type and ‘20 lbs’ can be quite hard to lose for some people. As long as she’s not seriously overweight, she should just ignore the narrow-minded skinny worshippers and stay the way she is.

  26. Mariah | 11/02/08

still this is one of her skinnier moments …

  27. Sacharomyces cerevisiae | 11/02/08

at this point we should all just be grateful that no b*tt crack is visible

  28. Christy | 11/02/08

I think she looks great. Last night when she was performing on the Grammys, I thought she looked quite slim (especially for her legs)…so much that I didn’t recognize her at first.

  29. V | 11/02/08

she always manages to pick the worst dress….
oh and her arm in the 1st pic ic clearly photoshopped

  30. andrea | 11/02/08

I think she should lose weight. Of at least stop wearing dresses that are painted on and way too revealing for someone of her size. Plus sized women have a lot of options, especially if they have a lot of money, so she can go out and get a dress that fits and is suitable for her. This just looks wrong; WTF is going on with the back of her dress?

  31. kels | 11/02/08

She is fat. End of story.
I am so sick of people like her thinking they are “curvy” when really, they’re quite chubby.

I am ashamed she is wearing my favorite color
    Hmph. :(

  32. Cara | 11/02/08

    I think she looks great.
She will always be curvy and will never loose those big hips.
But her arms look slim and she is a glowing beauty.

  33. Liz | 11/02/08

Her dress is atrocious! This is The Grammys! You don’t go around showing your butt cheeks. So classless!

  34. jed | 11/02/08

She is what she wants to be. She was worried at one time that she was too thin. She did not particularly worry when she was adding pounds—I have a feeling she had a day not too long ago where she was listening to hot in herre by Nelly, as she was walking by a mirror—and it dawned on her–”I think my butt’s gettin big”. She might have lost five or ten—and i bet she is pretty happy to weigh just what she weighs.

  35. Bruna | 11/02/08

    same thing…
ok… the back of theat dress is weird.

  36. MarikaJ | 11/02/08

Any stylist who thinks this up should be shot on the spot, but can you imagine your mom saying, “Hmm, you know what would make this great? Butt cheeks!”. I hate hate hate Beyonce.

I don’t think she looks ‘too fat’, she just looks like she doesn’t work out. At all. I think people that don’t work out should start. And yes, she’d probably lose weight if she did.

  37. Casha | 11/02/08

She’s beautiful, but she has ass and hips for days. She could definetly stand to lose a good 20lbs. Sorry, the rules doesn’t change even if you are Beyonce’. She’s one hamburger away from shopping at Lane Bryant. She knew the Grammy’s were approaching so she should have put herself on a strict diet and paid an A-list trainer to drag her and those thunder thighs out of bed to workout. I also agree with the other post that her make-up is a bit over the type. I would love to see a more natural Beyonce’, similar to Rihanna’s new look.

  38. Helga | 11/02/08

Love to see a real woman and no skeleton!

  39. Ana | 11/02/08

oh gosh she looks soooo UGLY!!!
    and she’s a fatty! ewwwwwwwwwwwwww!!

  40. apricotmuffins | 11/02/08

    this. is. not. plus. sized.

    You girls are deluuuuudedddd

  41. Dunja | 11/02/08

    Still fat.

  42. joanna | 11/02/08

i know tina turners legs looked good in that silver spandex!!!i dont know if tehy were cottage cheese or what inder there but so what she could w rock skinny jeans all the time then! no but beyonce scares me because she must go to the gym right? so if she does then why no results?same thing with jlo therir body types aint gonna change.

  43. leena | 11/02/08

Beyonce is a beautiful voluptuous woman. she’s not built like courtney cox or kate hudson. Everytime she’s tried to loose a great deal of weight for a role (Austin Powers or Showgirls) she’s had to turn to Eating Disorder like behaviors ie: Master Cleanser. There’s no reason she should be skinny. Skinny does NOT = healthy. She looks healthy and gorgeous to me. Since when does beauty only have one absolute look. That’s ridiculous.

  44. daisii | 11/02/08

i think her body type is beautiful–certainly not the hollywood norm, but gorgeous nonetheless
but is it just me or has her face gotten ugllier over the years?
maybe its just her makeup choices??
and i really do not like what she is wearing

  45. mika | 11/02/08

i think it may be because her legs are covered up?

beyonce is a beautiful woman but i prefer her on the thinner side

  46. Lovie | 11/02/08

    I think she looks HUGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  47. Heidi | 11/02/08

i think it’s weird cos she looks to have lost on her arms, her waist looks about the same as before but her hips&butt seem to have expanded a little. still - she carries her weight good! better than - say, Nicole did when she was bigger.. (may have something to do with hair/make-up/clothing?!?!)

  48. Mouse | 11/02/08

Eh, she’s been about this size and this tacky most of her career. Nothing new. But I bet she’d drop a ton of weight if she stopped noshing on the southern confort food she’s said she loves so much and made a point of doing some sort of physical activity. And she’d certainly look better if she stopped allowing her mother to dress her!

  49. breads | 11/02/08

    amen apricotmuffins
i couldn’t believe it when i read andrea’s comment (she is usually has great comments)
tim jones…i am greatly appreciating the sarcarsm but beyonce needs help, i am sick and tired of her crimes against fashion..but i guess her lack of style is not what you think of when looking at her

  50. Sarah | 11/02/08

Tim Jones, don’t listen to them idiots, you’re always dead on!

  51. amelia*** | 11/02/08

Nasty dress and could she put on any more make up??

  52. andrea | 11/02/08

thanks, breads, but seriously, you guys don’t think she’s plus sized? What size do you think she wears?

Where I live you can’t buy past like a 12 in the normal department, so i’d consider anything over that plus. I was a 12 at my heaviest adult weight, and I was no wear near as big and thick as her. I’m not sure how height factors in, but I’m 5′7. I also don’t know what the smallest Lane Bryant size is.

  53. Solina | 11/02/08

    K,

She lost 20 pounds for her role in Dream Girls, by drinking (forgot the name) that lemon ,pepper ,honey crap. She had to do it in two weeks. She said she didn’t like being so thin. If the pic was cut in half and you only saw her upper body. You would not be saying she was fat, (she has thick thighs) there is nothing wrong with that. She has curves ( im sure she’s not crying her eyes out because she had some fries) like some celebs, and she’s making her money.

And for all the people who keep calling these healthy women FAT! This is not the site for you, go and get some help.

  54. Di | 11/02/08

    Gosh
That dress is just really horrible

  55. Alicia | 11/02/08

This is really funny, because all the girls complaining about beyonce being ugly or fat need to face reality : look at yourself in the mirror, and if that doesn’t work, compare your paycheck with hers, Imagine what she would say about you low life, pathetic jerks. Beyonce may not be skinny, but she is beautiful the way she is.

  56. Solina | 11/02/08

    PLUS SIZED?

Really? and where do you buy your clothes? the childrens section in Department stores????

  57. Kodekai | 11/02/08

You know what, this woman could lose weight, if she put her ass into it! I know because I was the same body shape as her. She *could* take control of what she eats and exercise everyday. If I can do it by making healthy choices and battling my urge to eat pizza, and working out on a stepper and jogging, she sure as heck can do it with nutritionists and personal trainers.

But maybe she’s happy with her body the way it is. She carries her weight on the bottom half, which is a healthy place to have weight, and her face, waist and arms are still looking good. She isn’t a model, she’s a singer.

  58. Kodekai | 11/02/08

Oh, I forgot, I think that she IS plus-sized on the bottom. For sure. UK size 14 - 16 on the hips, I’d say.

BUT she could still lose it. I used to be UK 14-16 and have gotten down to a UK 6-8. Exactly her body type. Still the same shape - Beyonce can’t change her bone structure - but smaller.

  59. jennac | 11/02/08

she doesnt look fat to me…not skinny but not fat…as for the dress it is a nice color but i don’t like the bust and rear. she can’t pose but she ain’t a model. overall she looks nice though. i like her hair like this.

  60. Erin | 11/02/08

she has learned to wear corseted items, making her look smaller, but she is still the same to me. not fat, not thin, just curvy.

  61. Sian | 11/02/08

Kodekai, that’s really impressive. I’m not sure I could ever go down four dress sizes, I wouldn’t have the discipline.

  62. Spectra | 11/02/08

I bet she had that dress made a while ago and tried to lose enough weight to fit into it. Then she didn’t lose enough so the dress had to be altered a bit in the back so she could wear it. It’s still too tight for her. I’m guessing she’ll gain back the 5 or 10 lbs she lost now that the Grammys are over. Especially if she did that stupid Master Cleanse thing again. Last time she did it, she gained all the weight back overnight because she binged on mac and cheese and fried chicken (hey, she even admitted it).

  63. gem | 11/02/08

    She looks like a taxi.

  64. mk | 11/02/08

She performed at the grammys and she was wearing short shorts. She is not fat at all. I think her tiny waist and curved hips make her appear larger then she really is.

  65. Rian | 11/02/08

Actually, in some midwest department stores you will see larger sizes on the regular racks, such as 14 and 16, even 18! (Well, not Saks or the high-end stores, but stores like Macy’s, JC Pennys, etc).

  66. Jew-Lo | 11/02/08

You’re all nuts. I’m 5′7 with measurements 35-25-38, and you know what? NO ONE tells me I am fat. Yes, I have hips, but the only way to lose them would be to get my hip bones replaced. Not sure they do that in cosmetic surgery yet….

So I guess you’re all calling me FAT since I’m sure Beyonce’s measurements are not too off from mine. So F you all….

  67. andrea | 11/02/08

Alicia, I do not subscribe to the theory that everyone who is rich and famous is automatically better than me. Or prettier. Or skinnier. I call them like I see them. So she makes more money than I do. That doesn’t make her better. The stupid president makes more money than I do too.
I comment that I think girls are hot and beautiful on here ALL THE TIME. she’s just not one of them. I think she’s fat. She looks lazy- like she never gets any exercise. Last time I checked, that sort of critique is exactly what this site is for.

  68. Amy | 11/02/08

I think beyonce is stunning, She is not the ideal weight of hollywood, but she doesnt care! she just does her thing, and rocks it better than most of these thin obssesed celebs anyway!

  69. breads | 11/02/08

    kodeki be honest
are your eating habits shall we say restrained, highly restrained because to go from (uk)16 to 8 takes some doing (on hips i guess is what you mean)

  70. breads | 11/02/08

oh at the most beyonce is uk12, or pushing uk14 on her thighs, if you saw the pic of her perfoming in micro shorts thos thighs weren’t round enough to hit a uk16

  71. Marie | 11/02/08

I think she looked better when she was on Master Cleanse. You can see her weight in her face.

WTF is with that dress! Looks like she mugged an ice skater!

  72. erica | 11/02/08

any waist would look tiny with those massive hips of hers.

  73. FAINE | 11/02/08

DOES ANYBODY THINK THAT BEYONCE LOOKS WHITE????
thinner nose, lighter hair, lighter skin

  74. mee | 11/02/08

she looks good weight-wise, definitely has some of that african-american curvy thing going on (no offense intended to anyone!) but I think it looks good on her.

But can I say that the back of that dress is BUTT-ugly, so to speak!

  75. lauraaaaaaa | 11/02/08

she has a small waist so she’s healthy

  76. Elle | 11/02/08

Don’t really care about her weight, but that dress has got to go.

  77. Kodekai | 11/02/08

Those thighs are not a UK 12 … maybe a 12 in Tesco or Next but a proper 12?! Noooo. Girl is a 14-16, for sure.

Breads: Your tone suggests that you think I must be using ‘extreme’ methods to lose so much weight, yes? Not so. My diet used to be filled with junk and I was relatively sedentary. Now I eat an incredibly healthy diet - filled with fruit, veg, oily fishes, wholemeal starches, low-fat yoghurts etc. And I exercise half an hour every day.

Now, if I can do that at the age of 19 with nothing at stake but my health, why can’t Beyonce make some sort of effort to sort herself out, knowing that she is an example to the whole world? I spent so long watching Beyonce, thinking that it was ok to be bigger because everyone thought SHE was beautiful. In reality, I was waaay over-eating and taking in far too much saturated fat. It was a recipe for disaster and celebrities like Beyonce perpetuated my belief that my lifestyle was acceptable. That’s just wrong.

  78. tim jones | 11/02/08

Kodekai, if you look to celebrities as role models, you have much larger problems than the size of your thighs. Learn to think for yourself. Ask perfection only from yourself, no one else. Be your own role model.
I do sincerely think it is great that you decided to change your diet and lifestyle to be “healthier,” but I assure you, your diet is not nearly as healthy as you think it is. You obviously have the dedication and desire to change, which is 99% of the battle, but you are misinformed.

  79. Natasha | 11/02/08

    Quite fat.

  80. SHALLweLEAVEherALONE | 12/02/08

Most of you people are quite sick and need help on this site. This site is not a problem, but the people that enter OH MY GOD! Are you people in this planet at all? Kelly Clarkson is fat, rapper big pun or fat joe whatever he calls himself is obese. As long as the shape is visible, the person will be considered fat-obese. Are you people blind? B is soo fly and got it going on. She has a shape, A woman shape. B is rich and people actually notice her. To bad I can’t say the same for a lot of you haters on this site. B is wealthy, most of you people here are not. LMAO, but do carry on blabbering.

  81. lambman | 12/02/08

she is rather pear shaped. I think she looks best somewhere between this weight and her too thin Dreamgirls weight. Like during the Crazy in Love video

  82. BwillLaugh@YOUAll | 12/02/08

B will laugh in the face of you haters. She has a nice shape unlike the Bones with no arse that we have as celebrities, wHAT A huge TURN OFF. B will laugh her so-called obese body to the bank. Atleast we know B as a wealthy and a very successful woman. All of you people hating on B don’t even have close to the amount of wealth B has certainly acquired at her young age. She is gorgeous, most men want her, she can sing, dance, act and she is drop dead gorgeous. so the haters on this site can go and seek a psychiatrist. When you obtain all that B has, than maybe just maybe you will have a forum dedicated to you, until than eat your heart out. You are a complete nobody! LOVE YOU B, KEEP doing YOur thing.

  83. BwillLaugh@YOUAll | 12/02/08

Kelly Clarkson, is a fat lady, RIcky Lake was also big. BIG PUN/FAT JOE or whatever he calls himself is obese. B has a shape that can be easily detected. The contour of her shape is visible unlike the contour of a fat or an obese person. GEt your eyes examined people. My Lord, I know anorexia just like obesity is becoming pandemic. MY OH MY Is blindness becoming pandemic also?

  84. parissucksliterally | 12/02/08

I can’t believe some of you are saying she doesn’t work out. Have you seen that chick DANCE? She is constantly touring, or preparing for another tour or performance- she excercises ALL the time.

She is not fat- she is a bigger girl and she’s all muscle.

  85. elle | 12/02/08

omg!!! she is freaking HUGE O_O !!!
How can anyone say she is NOt fat??????
just look at those hips!!! yuck

  86. breads | 12/02/08

    kodekai
why look to beyonce as inspiration or anybody else in the public eye, they do not have thesame body as you (unless they are your identical twin)
its great you lost the wieght uk16 is large
but beyonce is a 12, topshop skinny jeans 12 (i don’t know what tesco or next 12 are like because i avoid those shops like the plague, but i guess you mean they are like a monsooon 12 that should actually be a 14) this is pretty clear because like everybody know the camera adds wierght… there is a reason why models look sickly in real life and fabulous on magasines, did you not watch loiuse redknapp vid on channel 4
anyway why decide your wieght and size by shop sizes, just use a measuring tape, i call myself a 10 because if i was i mianland europe i would be, UK varies from 8-10 and in italy i would be a 12, heck i can fit US gap and some designers 2 but usually a i am a US4 concluding that sizes mean rubbish, absolutely nothing
i even have french vintage couture that puts me at a european 44 the bottom

  87. Frankie | 12/02/08

mmm yeah she lost especially in her arms, they look slimmer here..

  88. Carly | 12/02/08

Breads I think Beyonce would be a bit bigger than a UK12, I am a 10/12 and look quite a lot smaller than her, though I really do need to loose a few pounds!

  89. Miss M | 12/02/08

There is not a single wobbly bit on Beyonce, she’s just bigger than your average skeleton Hollywood girl. So what? She’s not fat, she works out (you’ve got to be super fit to do what she does on stage!), the only thing you can criticize is her inability of being firm to her mother and telling her off for providing such questionable dresses for her daughter. Although saying this, the colour of her dress is spot on as this spring season’s top colour and the cut of the dress enhances Beyonce’s assets, her curvy hour glass figure. Nothing wrong with that.

I can only think that all those people here who call her fat have an ED and are also very very young.

  90. Tallenglishgirl | 12/02/08

My goodness her hips are huge! Shall we hazzard a guesse? I’d say 44″ possibly 46″ when she’s slightly bigger and not performing. Horrible dress, horrible ‘weave.’ Saying that though she does have a lovely face.

  91. Carly | 12/02/08

Andrea, you used to be a 12? I always imagined you to be naturally tiny…how old are you btw?

  92. Jojo | 12/02/08

    Ugly pose though.

  93. andrea | 12/02/08

    Carly,
I’m 25. I’m currently a 2. Like I stated in a recent post, I was a VERY fat kid. I hit my growth spurt at 14, weighed the same as I did when i was MUCH shorter. Then through high school I got fat again. Once I got into college and started planning my own meals and getting lots of exercise I dropped weight like crazy. I’d always thought I was just one of those girls who was built bigger, then I discovered I was just always big. My parents kept a LOT of junk in the house and worked a lot, so I ate all the time. I do have a very small bone structure, it just took me years to discover it. I destroyed my metabolism as a kid, and I have to be careful about everything I eat. I work very hard to stay in good shape, because I want to and because I’m somewhat expected to in my field.

I have a treadmill in my house now and that is my stress reliever. I’ve always played sports, so I still do that. I’m 5′7 and between 115 and 120, depending on the day, I could probably bench press most of the girls on this site, and I’ve never felt better. Does that sound like a fitness ad?

  94. Kate | 12/02/08

Trashy and overdone. This woman always wears hideous clothes - I have never seen her in a piece of clothing that I actually like. So much make up all the time…

Now, I like woman’s curves - I think a bust and hips are great. Although her curves are beyond extreme. In my opinion I think she looked her best when she slimmed down for dreamgirls.

  95. AnnieJ | 12/02/08

She tends to be a hefty gal and it pains me to see the tacky clothes she wears - she really could do so much better in the fashion department.

  96. Lucy | 12/02/08

she is so fat now-what a whale.very ugly.

  97. idajoon | 12/02/08

She’s not fat. She’s just got thick legs. THAT DRESS IS HORRIBLE! Why does she always look like she’s performing at the Ice Capades?

I’ve always loved B but I must admit that I think she is just a bit too heavy at the moment- Loving the curves and all but just loose a little weight…

  99. amanda | 12/02/08

She is not fat, but she is not skinny. Go walk down the street and most people you see will not have as good of a body as she has.

I think her biggest problem is her wardrobe. I mean the color looks great on her, but the style not so much.

And also just because somebody may have the money to afford a personal trainer etc doesn’t mean they need one (though i’m sure she has somebody and obvously works out to perfom on stage). I hate how people think celebrities need to act as rolemodels. If she is happy with her size, good for her! Nobody should need to look up to the media for anything besides admiring their talent (singing, acting, dancing, sports players, ANYTHING!)

  100. K | 12/02/08

It’s strange to me that all these people on this site are criticizing me for thinking Beyonce is overweight- why are you here? What the hell are you doing on this site? “The Skinny Website” seriously? She may be a wonderful person (I disagree), or have a beautiful face, but we’re talking about her WEIGHT here.

I don’t recall ever saying that anorexia was healthy, in fact I said that she doesn’t need to be skeletal to look good. She is however, overweight.

Most of this backlash is pretty funny, and not worth my time to respond to every shitty comment. However, I’d like to take a minute to respond to Alicia’s comment: 1. I can look in the mirror and be happy because I take care of myself (without using extreme methods). 2. Money is not important enough to me to make me feel bad about not making as much as an overpaid celebrity.

And finally, Sacharomyces cerevisiae: you’re hilarious.

  101. Elaine | 12/02/08

    Beautiful.

  102. Patty | 12/02/08

I think she had a nose job (am i the only one who doesnt know this yet?) i barely recognized her in some of the pictures. i think she is voluptous, and she looks great, but i dont like the color of her gown. i think this weight is just right for her.

  103. Reese | 12/02/08

K, I’m sure guys are beating down your door and magazines are begging for you to be on the cover of their magazines like Beyonce, however i think the reason people are bashing what you said because just like you they have a right to their opinion of what fat or skinny is….. your right you have every right to think she is fat, but others on here have every right to tell your wrong as well, practice what you preech! And let us know what magazines you are in so we are sure to buy them!

  104. K | 12/02/08

    Reese,

I never said I was a supermodel. I said that I was happy with how I look in response to the comments about needing to look in the mirror for a reality check.

I completely agree with you that everyone is entitled to their own opinion. What I find attractive is not necessarily what others find attractive at all. My opinion was that she is overweight and does not look good- to which many venomous responses were posted. I did not attack anyone’s opinion. Your post is shitty toward me, which is not respecting my opinion. I suggest YOU practice what you are preaching.

  105. Minnie | 12/02/08

Money can’t buy taste. Her hair’s not bad though.

  106. Mup | 12/02/08

She looks very thick and pear shaped/bottom heavy.

  107. idajoon | 12/02/08

Minnie……I agree. The new hair color is great.

  108. Kodekai | 12/02/08

Tim: I can assure you that my diet is a) healthy and b) supported by my doctor. When I was larger I reassured myself that because I had a body like Beyonce, that I was ok. But in reality I was on the way to type 2 diabetes and was very unfit. Now, I am fit, healthy and happy.

I’ve read your posts, Tim, and I love your attitude as a man who believes women should believe in themselves and not bow down to media pressure. But are you seriously, seriously suggesting that I return to a sedentary lifestyle and a diet filled with additives and saturated fats, in lieu of the sensible exercise regime and healthy diet that has been approved by my doctor?

I’d be interested to know what you think is so unhealthy about my diet - all the food groups are represented in the appropriate amounts. Whatever size Beyonce is or is not, I don’t believe that her ‘I eat fried chicken’ message is healthy. And neither is her crash-diet approach to losing weight. Endlessly fluctuating weight leads to health problems in later life, I hope she realises that.

  109. andrea | 12/02/08

    Kodekai,
I noticed that tim jones told you your diet was unhealthy. I can tell you that my medical nutrition and biochemistry training tells me that your diet is very healthy. I’d advise you to stick to what the experts have to say in the matter and ignore everyone else.

  110. lynny | 12/02/08

beyonce is absolutely gorgeous. i LOVE that she doesn’t buy into the super skinny stupidness that exists in hollywood. you are crazy if you think this woman is fat.

  111. tim jones | 12/02/08

andrea, I never said her diet was unhealthy. I said it was not nearly as healthy as she thinks it is. From her description, her diet is better than 99% of what other people eat, but our concept of a healthy diet, as a nation, is skewed. Will her diet afford her health benefits unobtainable otherwise, without a doubt, but is her diet as “incredibly healthy” as she purports it to be? No. And your “training,” means nothing to me; I disagree with most registered dietitians and nutritional scientists.

Kodekai, I did not say your diet was unhealthy. The next quotation boggles my mind, “But are you seriously, seriously suggesting that I return to a sedentary lifestyle and a diet filled with additives and saturated fats?”. Uh, No. Did I say that? No. I never said pizza and tv were healthy. What you did there is create a straw man argument. In regards to what I find wrong with your diet, I feel your aversion to fat, particularly, saturated fat, while well intended, is misinformed. Low-fat yogurt is a waste. Yogurt is a waste unless it is completely plain and unsweetened. Saturated fat is not bad. In fact, it is actually beneficial. I know, I know, I sound crazy. But my doctor said this, the government tells us that. I do not believe what the mainstream medical community has to say on almost anything regarding diet or exercise. Are you better with the lifestyle you have now, physically speaking, without a doubt, but is your diet as optimal as it could be? No.

  112. skinnywanna | 12/02/08

There are 3 types of people on this site

1- those who look like Beyonce (or a little bigger than her). They feel threatened when someone calls her fat because it makes them feel unattractive, so they defend her

2- those who look thinner than Beyonce. They feel threatened when someone calls her weight perfect because it makes them feel unattractive, so they attack her.

3- those who can see the game that the first 2 types are playing. And it’s quite interesting to see a lot of people attack the celeb, while it’s obvious they’re trying to defend their own lifestyle.

Girls, you’re all beautiful. Honestly. Stop fighting.

  113. andrea | 12/02/08

alright, tim jones, I generally enjoy your posts because although they have a tinge of chubby-chasing from time to time, they are articulate. I’ll ask you then, what exactly qualifies you to to make dietary recommendations? What classes have you had, what degrees do you hold? I’ve seen you take on personal trainers on this website, but I’ve never seen you state any reason why you have any backing whatsoever for your opinions. From a medical standpoint, her diet is fantastic. You say you disagree with the “registered dietitions and nutritional scientists”. Based on what? Do you have a biochemistry phd?
I hope that you can understand that for me, for someone to say “I disagree with the mainstream medical community on…” is extremely dismissive, especially without qualification. Maybe my opinions are severe at this point because I just finished block exams, and spent 50 out of the last 70 hours studying to learn what the “mainstream medical community” wants me to know for the boards.

  114. suzie | 13/02/08

You people running your mouths with all the negative comments need to get a life. I bet the majority of you are overweight sitting at your computers trying to lift your self esteem by dogging Beyonce. Don’t be mad at her because she’s rich and beautiful.

  115. LooseAnother10lbs | 13/02/08

too you bag of boneslovers, why don’t you loose another 10lbs. you might be too fat 5″7 115-120 ewwww
that is sooo nasty. B is the shape to have. An hour glass shape, beautiful face, obviously goal oriented and accomplished. What a combination. TOo bad nobody knows you. BTW since when does B wearing what she wants have to do with what you want. It is her wearing the dress, not you. Didn’t know that B had to inform a complete nobody of what she plans to wear for a special occasion. GET A LIFE

  116. Kodekai | 13/02/08

Fine. My diet is not nearly as healthy as I think it is? My highly qualified and experienced doctor’s opinion differs with yours. She is not a dietician or a nutritionist although I have in fact been to see a nutritionist who shared her opinion. If you choose to disagree with what professionals have to say on the subject of diet then that’s your call.

I believe that a diet made up of 30% fat is healthy - NOT saturated fat, however, and ESPECIALLY not trans fat. I choose to eat healthy fats: nuts, seeds, oily fish, olives, avocado. I do eat small amounts of saturated fat in the form of lean cuts of red meat (though I limit it), small amounts of cheese and a tiny bit of dark chocolate.

As for yoghurt - nobody in their right mind (in my clean-eating opinion, obv) would eat anything other than plain, organic Greek yoghurt - but a low fat version. Then again my diet is made up of organic, unprocessed products so why would I ruin that by eating a yoghurt that, while low in fat, is high in sweeteners and colourings?

In any case, if my diet is better than what 99% of people eat, why are you taking complaint with my body? My lifestyle is extremely healthy - might I even dare to suggest healthier than Beyonce’s? If you don’t like the sound of how my body looks to you, if it goes against your personal aesthetic then that’s fine, but please don’t try to pick holes in my regime because it has made me healthier and happier than I have ever been and I doubt Beyonce with her ‘womanly curves’ is any healthier than I am.

Thin women do not have to be bad role models and, similarly, curvy women do not have to be good role models. HEALTHY women are good role models.

  117. Kodekai | 13/02/08

Andrea - thanks for the support. :-)

I lost a lot of weight and have become very slim - some people react badly to that or assume that an eating disorder is involved. I just want people to understand that it is possible to be slim while also being healthy, strong and fit.

  118. tim jones | 13/02/08

Kodekai, I can not have a debate with you if you continue to erect straw man arguments in your defense. I NEVER said I disapproved of your body. How could I? I don’t even know what you f-u-c-k-i-n-g look like. In fact, if you look at other posts of mine throughout this site, you will see I adore slim and in-shape women just as much as I do curvy ones.

As I stated before, your highly qualified and experienced doctor, is just that a doctor. She is not an expert in nutrition or nutritional sciences. Medical doctors are about, oh let’s see, about 20 years behind on the recent nutritional research. Why? Because the government’s nutritional guidelines are founded on poor science. My diet is about 50% fat (with mono poly and sat fats being consumed evenly) 25% Carbs (mostly coming from fruit and a couple servings of grains.) 25% Protein. Your diet is pretty good, but your aversion to saturated fat and cholesterol is misguided. Oh, and while for 99.9% of the time, trans fats are horrible, not all trans fats are bad. Some plain yogurts and red meats actually contain naturally occurring trans fats.

  119. missy | 13/02/08

Man, y’all are harsh. Beyonce is one of the ONLY naturally beautiful woman in the business. (Face wise… a lot of these girls are interesting looking, but NOT beautiful). She looks like she’s lost weight, too.
I hate to call it this, but yall are haters!

  120. MarikaJ | 13/02/08

    Trans fats are bad.
    Saturated fats are bad.

These are facts. Not because my doctor told me, or because the government told me, but because of the very simple concepts of covalent bonding and stereochemistry.
    Structure -> Function. Very simple.

There are tiny amounts of trans fats found in nature. They’re still trans. Still bad. Your body does not care whether hydrogenation occurred in a factory or in a cow.

I love cheese. And steak. I wouldn’t advise anyone to eat it every day, and I wouldn’t advise cutting it out completely if you enjoy it. But some things can’t be argued with. Unless you’re okay with going back to the days when cholera was in the miasma and the sun revolved around the earth.

  121. MarikaJ | 13/02/08

I am also dying to know what being “informed” about proper diet entails…

  122. tim jones | 13/02/08

MarikaJ, oh how wrong you are. The most expensive nutritional study ever conducted, took 49,000 women gave 40% of them a diet low in saturated fat and 60% of them a normalized diet with moderate amounts of saturated fat, and after 8 years, what where the results? Nothing. That is right. The incident of heart disease and cardiovascular indicators were statistically the same. In regards to your naturally occurring trans fats being bad, let me educate you:

The trans fat mainly found in animal products is vaccenic acid and not elaidic acid (also known as 18:1 n-9 trans). Elaidic acid is a trans fat that’s converted from oleic acid — a monounsaturated fat (think olive oil).

Elaidic acid is the main trans fat found in hydrogenated soybean oil and thought to be the trans fat that increases the risk of cardiovascular disease.

If trans fats don’t occur naturally, then how do they get into animal products? The rumen (one of the four parts of a cow’s stomach) of ruminants (e.g. cows or animals with four chambers in their stomachs) contains bacteria. These bacteria actually hydrogenate polyunsaturated fats and convert them to trans fats and saturated fats. Interestingly enough, free-range, grass fed cattle have higher levels of trans fats because they eat a diet higher in alpha linolenic acid — an omega-3 fat (think flaxseeds) — and other polyunsaturated fats that get converted into trans fats.

Fortunately, epidemiological data show that these “natural” trans fats don’t increase your risk of heart disease, but they may instead confer some cardio-protection. There’s definitely more research that needs to be done in this area.

What’s really cool about vaccenic acid is that as humans we do a pretty good job of converting it into CLA. Below are two graphs from a study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition (the premier journal for nutrition research) that examined the conversion of vaccenic acid to CLA [1]. The top graph shows how the levels of vaccenic acid increased over time while the bottom graph shows how there were increases in CLA over time that corresponded to the increases in vaccenic. Thus the supplemental vaccenic acid was getting converted to CLA.

    Changes in plasma vaccenic acid and conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) in subjects who consumed diets providing 1.5 g (●; n = 10), 3.0 g (▲; n = 10), or 4.5 g (■; n = 10) vaccenic acid daily.

And if this thing allowed graphs you would see them, but the facts remains, naturally occurring trans fats are converted to CLA (the healthy, cancer-fighting fats found in butter) in the human body.

  123. tim jones | 13/02/08

MarikaJ, I already posted my response to your knee jerk sat-fats and naturally occurring trans-fats are bad post. Unfortunately, its length has forced it into moderation. To respond to your “I am also dying to know what being “informed” about proper diet entails…,” I will gladly highlight my beliefs.
People eat way too many carbs, even healthy ones. A diet should consist of the majority of calories coming from fat. This fat consumption should be evenly divided between mono and poly unsaturated and saturated fats. Essentially fat should make up about 40-70% of ones daily caloric intake. A complete, preferably animal source, of protein should be consumed with every meal (5-6 meals). Fruits and and vegetables especially should be consumed in abundance. Carbohydrates should only account for 5-30% of one’s caloric intake, with rare exceptions alloted to elite athletes. Most carbs consumed in a diet should come from fruits and vegetables, and a few grain sources. The bulk of carbohydrate consumption, ideally, should occur in the morning, during and immediately after a strength training regiment, as well as an hour or so after said regiment.
My diet consists of 50% of my calories coming from fat, 25% from carbs and 25% from protein. I eat 6 servings of fruits and 12 servings of vegetables daily, and I consume about 15g of fish oil a day (2000mg DHA, 800mg EPA). Of course, there are exceptions to everything, and diet is no different. Most asian populations are better suited to digest carbohydrates, but 90% of them are lactose intolerant. So, there is some genetic variation, but on the whole, my beliefs hold. Oh, and things to avoid, processed trans fats, added sugars, dairy, and soy. Forgive my post’s rambling and disjointed nature. I simply regurgitated a bunch of things I thought were important in no particular order and without any concern for a guided organizational purpose.

what the hell is with that crack flap?

  125. mel | 15/02/08

can i just say…all of ya’ll- what the hell do u look like???! Someone loses weight and they’re skeletal. Beyonce packs a few and its disgusting….? pleaaase-get some perspective (and take a GOOD look in the mirror)..

  126. greentea | 16/02/08

What is up with the back of her dress (i.e. the buttock area) ? :|

  127. anon | 17/02/08

Like many others here, I don’t really care if she laughs at all the “haters” [way to behave like a mature celebrity if she does that, btw…], or how much more than me she makes; doesn’t have to mean she looks better in ANY sense, and I DON’T think she does. That simple.
Anyway, she looks the same, meaning like she’s not lost weight, b/c to me she pretty much never looks like she has. Doesn’t have to mean I’m holding it against her, though either.

  128. nikita | 18/02/08

BEYONCE, Please for the love of god lose 20 pounds cuz the extra poundages really offends our eyes. In fact, anyone over 105 pounds really needs to get a grip and lay off those carbs — it’s way too burdensome to go to out and have to lay our eyes on fleshy bodies. OMG and babies??? Can we put moms on diets so babies come out a little less chubby? That blubber is really gross.

K, why don’t you post a pic of yourself for us, and show us what true beauty is! Oh wait, nevermind, you ruined that with that shallow brain and yapping mouth of yours.

Some people have lost screws in their brains. Seriously, why does anyone have to conform to anyone else’s standards of superficiality? Why should anyone lose 20 pounds for anyone else? Why can’t we accept people for who they are? Overweight people are so discriminated against, and in hollywood, it’s magnified to where average bodies are torn apart. For people that say, “well, it’s the industry and they need to measure up to our standards” — let me tell you that it doesn’t stop there. Your daughters, friends, mothers, sisters are affected by it — it comes out in the form of eating disorders, lifelong insecurity, self-hatred, peer-hatred, etc etc etc etc…..

Strive to be better. But love who you are. Quit hating on people for stupid reasons. There’s too much beauty and glory in our world to be discovered that has nothing to do with fat, or the width of someone’s thighs.

  129. Jen | 20/02/08

    oh my god people.
beyoncé is absolutely BEAUTIFUL the way she is.
Who honestly cares if she has a big butt?
maybe because… uhm, she’s not anorexic & too thin?
maybe she’s proud of who she is, and doesn’t need at stop eating to feel good about herself?
it’s not your life, even if she was fat, who are you to judge other people?
shut the hell up and stop critisizing people, you guys probably need some dieting tips yourself.
Damn, get a life and stop this nonsense.
    losers.

  130. betterthanyou | 27/03/08

She looks to be about the size she has been for a minute…I mean she looks slimmer in the first pic but heavier in the last pic so idk. At least she is not overweight so its no big deal. Overall, she is gorgeous woman with curves …she is not going to be stick skinny her body is made a certain way.

  131. Jennie | 25/04/08

I HATE HER!!! She is always sooo overdone (make up, hair, skin, nails, dressing) Her dressing is always too much and unflattering (Fire your mother as your stylist please!) I hate her body; she is wayy too thick (EW!). And she acts like she’s Mother Theresa (BORING!) She isn’t that attractive in my opinion.

    Kelly is way more beautiful:o)

  132. Jennie | 25/04/08

P.s: I know you people believe Beyonce is an advocate for women with “curves” but honestly, she HATES her body. Trust me. If she loved her body, she wouldn’t always be trying to diet. She is so fake. Hate her!!
