Portia de Rossi Update
Category: Celebrity Eating Disorders, Misc Celebs & Diet NewsI got a couple of email tips in the past month or so that Portia de Rossi was relapsing into her former anorexic state. (I couldn’t find evidence that the rumors were true, so I didn’t post about it).
But now we have a new picture of her. Here is a photo of Portia at the 16th Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards viewing party yesterday:
Unfortunately the dress makes it difficult to tell if she’s lost any weight, but I’m thinking she looks about the same as she did the last time we saw her?

i heard those rumors too but looking at these pictures, the only thing that is shwoing of her body are her legs and arms, but by the look of them she looks at a slim-healthy weight

Her face looks haggard + harsh - the unhealthiness (past and possibly present) is catching up.
I like the new layout, and as an avid arrested development watcher I can say that from season 1 -3 she dropped about 15-20 lbs but she looks to have stayed the same since then.
She looks old and unhappy. Hard to see much about the body tho.
Wow. If I’m ever casting the part of a witch/old hag in a movie, I’ll keep her in mind.

She looks to have a very nice body, so why would she get herself styled in this confounding way?? Why the dress that makes her body look like a big rectangle? Besides her limbs, the only part of her anatomy we can make out are her little saggy boobs. Why do her eyebrows look like they’ve been drawn on with a brown crayola? Why the incredibly unflattering hair?
can’t really tell what she looks like under that dress. she could be perfectly healthy or she could be stick thin.
she looks normal to me. actually, her calves look pretty muscular, so i would have to say a big no to ana because she wouldnt be bothering with gaining muscle if that were so.
i could have sworn that was drea de matteo when i first opened this page up…
the veins in the arms. subtle but telling. and yes, people suffer from anorexia can have muscles. compulsive exercise often goes along with it.
I don’t get the whole veins=anorexia. If that were so, I’m an 130lb anorexic! Angelina and Prtia are nothing comared to me.

To be honest, judging from her lined, tired and drawn face, along with her scrawny arms and boney legs, I think Portia looks liks she’s in the midst of an unfortunate relapse with anorexia.
Love the new layout!! I remember hearing that Portia was anorexic at one point in time too, but she doesn’t look super-thin here. Of course, no one really looks thin wearing a feed bag as a dress. She needs to fire her restylane injection technician…her face looks really bad. If people can tell what you’ve had done, it’s not a good sign.
She looks so sad and that makes her look old.
Perhaps she was unwell?
oh definate relapse i’d say. Look at how tight the skin is on her face (could be surgery, but since she looks old i doubt it) and her chin is so sharp. Plus her neck has like, no flesh on it whatsoever.
As for the dress, i’d say it was a strategic choice to cover up her weight loss and avoid press attention at her reduced figure

veins in the arms don’t mean anything. My arms are veiny, I’m not anorexic. Some people just have more prominent veins.

OMG, that feedbag comment was hilarious, Spectra! I really like Portia, she was fantastic on Ally McBeal, and that was when she dropped all her weight and became frighteningly emaciated, not skinny, emaciated. I hope she’s not going through a relapse. She’s a very talented actress.
What the hell happened? Last time i saw her she was gorgeous and now her skin has the texture of an 80-year-old chain smoker. ick.

She certainly doesn’t appear to be subsisting solely on grapes, yogurt and water at this point, but it does seem like she looks a little thinner than a few years ago, and that she might be restricting again. Every eating disordered individual has “bumps in the road”, and since Arrested Development was cancelled she might be responding to the stress from that. None of us know her in person, none of us knows her eating habits, so we can’t really say.

Gorgeous dress and gorgeous shoes. I really like the way she looks here. It’s hard to tell if she’s lost or gained because of the cut of the dress but I’d say she looks great at the moment.

She looks very tired and her skin isn’t the best either. Which isn’t a surprise considering her eating habit. I’d definitely say that she lost weight again.
In my opinion she is relapsing. If you look at her mouth the corners seem to be pulled. This appears to be a look a lot of “scary skinny” celebs get. I know you can’t see much of her body but what you can see looks very thin. She hasn’t worked in awhile maybe she thinks if she loses weight she will get a job. Hollywood being obsessed with weight like they are. Sad.
she looks kind of odd…i dont know if its because she is too skinny or from a procedure or from lack of one. she does look weird & older & grumpier. she doesnt seem to be over the top skinny right now though, so thats good.

yup losing too much weight causes this “tired, haggard” face/look cuz even me at 21 I had this feeling when I was kinda scrawny
hhmmm., it´s kinda weird but,… i think she looks like ellen pompeos twin in this picture ….
I think her body looks fine, but she looks like she may be ill - I don’t mean ana; I mean like cold or flu. I always look really tired like that for a few days prior to actually coming down with something. I also think that color is not good on her.
Her shoes are to die for. I just love them.
Also, I agree w/ Pet Peeve & Andrea - veins don’t equal anorexia. I have Angelina style veins and am on the low end of healthy weight.
