Ana Ivanovic Tennis Pictures
February 27th, 2008 by Rian | Filed under Miscellaneous Celebrities, Celebrity Exercise. Here is some celebrity fitness inspiration for you all… Ana Ivanovic played at the WTA Dubai Tennis Championship earlier today.

Now THIS girl would be what I would personally call the epitome of physical fitness…

She’s definitely not a bag of bones, unlike at least one other tennis player I can think of!

first! and i think’s she’s pretty hot… somehow. a little manly, but really REALLY fit. good for her.
first….
i think she looks great
i used to play tennis, but i never looked like that, haha
why is muscle souly the domaine of a man?
i would MUCH prefer to look like her than to look like Hollywood glamour girls who think that the most muscle they should gain is whatever comes of carrying their little dogs around all day…this is the girl we should be looking up to!
I think she looks really great. Personally, I wouldn’t want to look that muscular, but that weight looks like it works well for her.
So much better than those chicken legged clothes hangers out there.
FIRST!!!!!!!!!!!! oh wait im 7th, now i look retarded. lesson learned, everyone?
yawn, tennis is fun to play but boring to watch
well her body shapeis fit
it reflects her chosen proffession, i wouldn’t call it physical perfection because there is no reason for the common girl, like me to be so fit
but as an athlete she pretty impressive
I wouldn’t want to look like that, but she looks healthy and fit.
She looks good, really healthy looking.
And is it just me or is her sports bra on backwards? Look at the last picture. The T strap thing that is supposed tobe on your back, is on her front…
I’m pretty much the biggest tennis fanatic that I know; that being said, Ana has dropped a good deal of weight since the Sony Ericson championships late last year. I wouldn’t be surprised to see her weightloss trend continue. It’s just what seems to happen…
she has a fantastic body….
except that although one *can* decide whether to work out or not, one can *not* decide how much muscle to have, because it depends on the body type, which is genetic (read: Sharapova).
I bench press 25 lbs per arm and I squat with a 25 lbs bar but I still look very thin. I know of people looking twice as big (where big=muscular) and yet lifting less than I do.
Uh, I’m not trying to be mean here, but I can’t leave this alone. 25 lbs per arm? So you bench 50 pounds? I know lots of people who bench less than that too, but none of them are over 8 years old. I hope I’m misunderstanding or there’s a conversion factor issue. You are supposed to be able to bench your body weight.
She looks fabulous! I love to see women who look like this. I do a lot of weight training and I love how cut my arms and legs are — and believe me, I don’t look like a man. I would prefer to look like this than a waif. And with weight training I still wear a size 3. GO FITNESS!!!!!!!!!!
“I wouldnt wanna look like that, but she looks healthy and fit.”
im sorry there’s just something wrong with that statement. personally, i wouldnt want to look unhealthy an stick thin. I dont like that, men dont like that. she has a perfect body.
Now THAT’S a good body! She looks awesome! I personally have a really muscular body and I like the fact that there are people out there that are not afraid to show the world that real women can be muscular and still look womanly. I don’t think she looks manly at all; she looks like an athlete. I would much rather look like her than a twiggy little waif.
She is certainly fit. Very athletic. I think she has one of those bodies that looks best in athletic clothing, KWIM? Think Venus and Serena. They look great in their tennis clothes but a little too bulky and muscular in street and party clothes.
she is very fit but I wouldn’t want to look that muscular.
eeewww eeewww eeewww she looks like a dude!! I’m sure her muscular body is well suited to tennis but i REALLY don’t find it attractive.
I think she looks awesome! I hope with all my working out I too can look that good..
I love her body.Plus she is an amazing tennis player and is actually a lot slender looking if you watch her on HDTV.
what a great body!!!!
Great post, Rian! What a breath of fresh air! She looks fantastic, beautiful– like she can do things with her body, & not just stand around in a size zero dress. Inspiring!
Calling all celebrities starving to be thin. Calling all human females dying to be thin. This is the ideal body. THe must have body. Why do people walk around with the perception thin is the only way to be satisfied, even when they do get really thin, they are still not pleased nor do they notice. She is not too built at all. I am slightly taller than her and a little smaller, but I would love to have them muscles.
I would never want to look like her - way too big! In my opinion girls look so much prettier as waifs. Clothes hang good on curveless bodies, and it’s more cute and delicate when you’re skinny.
There are people out there advocating females being super muscular, or “fat acceptance”, so why can’t I say that I love the Kate Moss look?
BTW I love her skin, Way better than that scary freak Renee Zellweger(GHOST). Also looks way better than that starving Anna Korniakova whatever her last name is. At least this lady doesnt look like she will fall immediately after playing like Anna Kornikova.
Stephani thats how they make the tennis uniforms now..They have like a v-cut in the front of them. It’s just how it is made..It’s not really a sports bra underneath it, it’s part of her dress.
Andrea: I have no clue how much you weight and how muscular you are. I am 5 6, weight 122 lbs and an ectomorph. For me, 50 lbs is almost half of my weight. If you think it’s not enough let me know how many persons you know my weight that can lift as much.
I think the first 2 pics don’t reflect her real body. I mean for the first one, she squeezed her arm against her body to position herself and hit the ball that came at her with super high speed.. same goes for the second one. I think only the last pic reflects her true body shape that would show in normal position.
You know, it’s weird how some women don’t look any more manly when they gain muscle! They just look that much more hotter! But take me, who gains these very ugly big huge leg muscles, and only my upped body looks ok… So is it all just genetics? I’m just saying, it doesnt matter how low fat and high muscle you are, if you dont have good genes, you won’t look as amazing as some lucky girls!
She has a great athletes body. But more importantly she’s like the only facially stunning female tennis player in the history of tennis.
nice definitions!!!!
she looks really good!!
I don’t think she’s too muscular. She’s fit but also her face is gorgeous. One of my favorite tennis players for sure
I always think how wonderful it must be to know that your body can do so much! (My English is bad, but I hope you know what I mean… If you’re not muscular, you’re usually weaker, so your body can’t handle that much.)
She must be really strong and healthy.
She is so sweet !
She looks like a man w/boobs.
hey what about sharapova? she is stunning too
R I probably agree but… this is a man, baby!
oh and succesfull too so must be quite an athelete
yikes! i wouldn’t want to be that muscular.
Muscles are beautiful. They make a woman strong. They protect her from osteoporosis. They mean that she will be able to walk and garden and lift her grandchildren when she is eighty. They never forsake her.
Please, please, please pick up “Woman: An Intimate Geography” By Natalie Angier.
There is an entire chapter about your beautiful muscles, which I have paraphrased above, extremely poorly.
Then, get thee to a gym, and lift something heavier than you think you can.
xo
I think she looks fabulous! She’s muscly but still has curves and boobs, womanly but strong.
And I would say, if you want to gain a little muscle, you need to be benchpressing or squatting with enough weight that you’re exhausted after 10 or 12 reps.
Rosanna, Like I said, I wasn’t trying to be mean. I actually thought that perhaps you were foreign and made an error converting kg to lbs. I weigh 115 pounds, and I don’t know what is the maximum I can bench- I don’t do power lifts because of an old injury. I do bench sets, however, and I can easily do sets of 120. Like I said, a test of physical fitness is being able to bench your weight. I don’t know anyone who lifts weights regularly who lifts half their weight. Even girls. In fact, when I took a weightlifting class in high school, we used a 45lb bar, with weights added to it- and that was for sets on the first day. Which is why I was sure it was an error of some sort. Sorry.
One word: healthy!
Whoa ease up on the man comments. Here’s a woman who’s body looks the way it does because she’s a top professional athlete. It’s not as if she’s sculpting her body to look this way. A far better role model for girls than any of the women posted on this site, obsese, overweight or too darn skinny.
Both beauty AND talent. I’m just a little jealous.
Could it be, andrea and Rosanna, that bench-pressing is different if you use dumbbells rather than a bar and added weights? I’m about 5′6″, 111 pounds, and I use a 30-pound dumbbell in each hand, three sets of 12 “reps” each, to exhaustion. Trainers at my gym tell me this is exceptional for a woman my size.
P.S. I just posed the question to an old beau, who is a really good trainer.
Very small boobs.
Jodi,
Perhaps. I don’t know why it would be different, but I also don’t bench with dumbells, and never have. I know that I’m rather strong for a woman, a result of 2 years of shoveling hot asphalt on a road crew, but I’m not “huge” by any means. I also know, however, that no girls in my aforementioned weightlifting class (even those who were 5 feet tall and 80 pounds) were bothering with anything under 100lbs at the end of the semester. I didn’t intend to start an argument, and actually did think it was an error, but I’m willing to accept your explanation.
I actually think that Ana has very nice boobs. Not too small at all.
Andrea, my trainer guy did write back to me, with a lengthy and very well-written explanation of the difference between the two varieties of bench press. The gist is that there is indeed a difference when doing bilateral moves and unilateral moves, and that the use of a bar allows for more weight than can be handled with dumbbells.
Regardless, though, I think it’s admirable that Rosanna is lifting weight. So so SO many women/girls don’t do so for fear of “bulking up”, which is really ridiculous. Although I am muscular, no one would EVER mistake me for a man.
How fun it is to see that this tennis player is named “Ana”, when it is precisely the “ana” group who finds her body so unappealing.
A woman should not be able to lift 2 50-100 lb dumbbells - I also lift 2 25 lb dumbbells, and this is fine for me.
Funny, this girl used to be quite chubby. She’s really stepped her tennis game up, and obviously she knew that in order to do that she had to get in shape. Good for her. She looks great!
Go Leafs Go, a woman should be able to lift how ever much weight she so desires to lift.
Thanks for your enlightened opinion, though.
Thank you for this post! I adore Miss Ivanovic. She’s so cute!
I don’t like this type of body…too muscular and not womanly..
I’m 5′4″, 122#. I benchpress sets of 95# and overhead press 70# (barbell). I’m not “huge” (size 2-4) but I’m strong and fit. See www.crossfit.com for great workouts and true models of female fitness.
Well, I love my body for what it does for me… as in its actual function. I think it’s sad you place its value on how much it resembles a clothes hanger. It’s worth so much more than that.
