Health wise, her body is perfectly fine, if not better than a lot of the too skinny celebrities. Fashion wise, she has a highly unfashionable figure. But fashion is arbitrary and has no bearing on what is truly beautiful, it is a construction of those who want to influence.
for every one of you who think she’s too fat, theres at least 10 others who think she’s perfect how she is, and even a few more who think that she could do with more weight.

i think she looks great - and her mid-section, which has the most correlation to health, looks to be slender…almost flat. she isn’t toned and not skinny, sure. she is 5′1″, i’d say she is 125lbs and maybe a size 6.

I think she’s gross. It’s so often highlighted that she’s a bigger celebrity. Duh, it’s apparent. She doesn’t have to make it her trademark, but she’s obviously been to lazy to anything about it, so her trademark it has become! Good job on being a part of 75% of Americans that are overweight!!
I agree with apricotmuffin, I think America has a beautiful body. It would be nice if the “realistic” body image were more acceptable. I think people would be happier in general.
Ande, I have seen pics of her going to the gym/or working out, on mags, and this site, too. So don’t say she’s lazy. That’s just not true. Many people work out on a regular basis, but choose not to starve themselves to the point of near-death to prove that they are beautiful. That’s just slanderous.
She looks good, but she needs to get a dress that fits better. If it weren’t so tight up top, she wouldn’t have smushed boobs and fat spilling out of the sides up top. She would actually look better and thinner if it fit properly. Fugly shoes (that also don’t fit right).

I feel sorry for her. I read a story about her in Elle or something and she said that she would like to lose weight but she feels pressured to not succumb to the stick-thin trend. That’s why I don’t think it’s good to put fat girls up on a pedestal. Yes, it’s nice to have a variety, but when you praise a girl just because she’s curvy, that’s a little overboard. Just like girls shouldn’t be pressured to stay thin, she shouldn’t be pressured to stay “curvy”.

I think she’s at a healthy body weight. SHe could lose some weight and look better and perhaps be a bit healthier but she is by no means fat or overweight. She has a normal healthy looking body, and she has such a pretty face.

All the people posting that she’s fat are just looking for a reaction and are basically boasting that they are thinner than she is. Congratulations! You’re thin! No one cares! and FYI calling someone of a completely normal size and weight ‘fat’ isn’t actually going to make you thinner.

I think America looks fine. She might look “overweight” compared to the average super skinny starlet, but if you saw her walking down the street, she’d probably look like a normal, average-sized girl. I am sure most of us have friends the same size as America that we would never dream of calling “fat”.

What is wrong with people here, really? That you’d actually think this girl is overweight? Perhaps you all should take some Health and Nutrition courses so you can actually LEARN what overweight means.
EVEN IF SHE WERE OVERWEIGHT, which is very unlikely, it’s quite possible she’s healthier than the skinny stars or you! The way her body actually functions is indicative of her health, not your skewed view of her appearance, and since so many of you are obviously not doctors, you have no idea what her health is like.
By the way, when you’re underweight, your body eats your muscles. Including your heart. So I guess you can just have your heart attack from that, since clearly having one from being average weight is so much more frightening.

The reason so many celebs walk the red carpet in shoes that are too big is because all the designers send them samples to choose from before a big event. I’m not sure what the *sample* size is for Americans (7? .. I dunno, I’m Australian) but because celebs are generally short and therefore have smaller feet, the shoes are often too big!

Bodyfat is only unhealthy if there is too much in the wrong area. a high waist circumference means there is pressure on the heart but fat on your thighs or bum doesn’t really have any negative effects on your health at all (unless u got it by eating food high in saturated fat in which case ur arteries will clog).

She’s not obese. Wouldn’t call her skinny, but nowhere near obese! She can’t really get much smaller because her bone structure is really large. She’d have to starve herself. I also saw her dress for sale on clothesoffourback.org and it was a size 6 so it’s not like that is huge.

LIl - what world are you living in? America is NO size six . . . I’m half her size and I wear a size six . . . and I weigh over 125. She is at least a (US) 10 - maybe a 12 even. And she’s definitely closer to 150-160 lbs.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME? She is about 5′ 1″ maybe 125 pounds. I am 5′ 2″ and I weight about 120-125 it fluxuates and I am not FAT or overweight. My BMI is in the right range and I’m pretty athletic and eat healthy. Bone structure take a part in it and I’d say she probably has a medium bone structure. We are all born different, she isn’t a part of America’s overweight. America’s overweight is about 5′ 1″ and 130lbs+. You all you say anything bad about her is ridiculous.
