The Latest Tabloid Weight Rumors

Hey everyone, there has been a slight overhaul in the Tabloid Magazines section in case you haven’t noticed! I am no longer allowed to scan in the articles, unfortunately, but I will still share the latest diet and weight gossip with you from time to time.
That said, here are some bits and bites from some of the recent stories circulating:
In Touch Weekly is reporting that Janet Jackson is back on a 1600-per day calorie regime that includes healthy foods like quinoa, salmon and broccoli. (Ew). Also Drew Barrymore is on the “love diet”. The magazine reports that Drew has lost 20 pounds since hooking up with her latest romance paramour Justin Long. (She looks exactly the same as she has for months, so I don’t know where those 20 pounds were lost from!) Meanwhile, Eva Longoria allegedly grazes on healthy fruits and veggies all day to keep her trim figure, and Carmen Electra just eats healthy foods with lots of protein. Mariah Carey eats lots of soup and fish to lose excess poundage.
OK Magazine is reporting that Britney Spears has gained weight because her father forces her to eat three square meals per day now (as mentioned in a previous post). Cameron Diaz “loves to eat, cook and feed people” and merely hits the gym and surfs to keep her slim figure. Rihanna simply eats healthy and the weight “melts off”. Heidi Klum loves junk food but “moves around a lot” to keep trim. (Uh huh). Lastly, Kate Walsh claims to have tried every diet there is.
Star Magazine reports that Ashlee Simpson is getting scary skinny because she is hitting the party scene too hard lately. Ashlee and her boyfriend Pete are said to hit a club or bar every night. (I’m confused, doesn’t drinking make people gain weight? Oh wait, that’s only if you eat and drink.)

these are the worst tabloids ever - they blantantly falsify stories. if your gonna be a tabloid at least make the stuff you write somewhat believable.

I think they mean that Ashlee loses weight because of doing things in the “party scene” like cocaine…

I seriously doubt most of these celebs supposed diets. Namely Rihanna. I doubt that girl eats even remotely as healthy as she claims. If she did, she would be much thinner. The girl has sausage legs for crying out loud. And as for britney, maybe if she wasnt going to starbucks 5 times a day getting the venti sized drinks, she would lose some of that poundage. Most people eat three meals a day and they aren’t as fat as her.
Also, she is a grown woman ( by age, not by actions) she needs to stop blaming daddy for her problems. No one can force you to eat. What does she expect us to think he shoves it down her throat?
Some of you are kinda hateful. Why do we never seem to look at celeb men? There are very rarely posts about men, always women. Why are we always objectifying just women and regarding their body parts as pieces rather than part of a whole….
Let’s talk more about celeb diets, go in depth on things that seem to be working for Celebs. I personally do weight watchers to keep fit and trim… do any celebs do WW? I am just tired of always seeing the same things!

wow every one of those tabloid statements sounds like a huge load of bologna to me. Although it is true you can (with moderation) eat whatever you want if you work out frequently, while maintaining a nice figure. I guess it just depends on the person. Bah! Heidi Klum’s excuse is pathetic. Eating junk and her only exercise is playing with her kids? Tell the truth woman!
Britney’s legs are freakin humongous! And not only that, but they’re the legs of an old woman. Getting off the drugs is what made her so fat. Getting clean always does that to people, but they usually lose it again if they stay with their sobriety.
Stars lie so much it isn’t even funny. I know Rihanna must eat more than she says she does because if she REALLY ate like she says she does, she’d be a toothpick. And I’m pretty sure no one’s forcing any food on Britney Spears…that girl has always been able to eat. As for Mariah, soup sounds like something she’d try in order to lose weight. She always follows the dumbest diets. I’m pretty sure Cameron Diaz is pretty honest though…she’s one of those naturally skinny people and she DOES surf a lot.
I think the stars want to sound normal and sensible but it’s not like there going to say “Hey, yeah, I take diet pills, never eat, drink loads of coffee and water and binge if I have an M&M.”
They’ll lie if they have to. With their money I would hope they’d lose weight with personal trainers and personal chefs though.
Mariah just had a lot of plastic surgery done to her body. If you look at pictures of her stomach you can tell. It looks better but strange.
that’s so dumb, that you aren’t allowed to scan articles anymore. it’s like free advertising for all those trashy mags. and those of us who weren’t going to buy them anyway, you certainly aren’t taking away anyone’s business. LAME.
I like Drew’s diet - It’s the happiest and healthiest way to lose weight.

Let’s face it, these celebs have trainers, personal nutritionists, plastic surgery etc. I do think someone like Heidi Klum is naturally built thin, but all the celebrities who yo-yo in their weight definitely are at a smaller size than they naturally are.
Ever wonder why those who come out of the “eating disorder closet” always do so AFTER they have supposedly rehabilitated? I don’t expect someone like Kate Bosworth or the Olsen twins to just come out and say, oh thanks for noticing how thin I am…I throw my food up!!
I think Jennifer Aniston smokes cigarettes. Cigarettes are appetite depressants, aren’t they?

Personally, I like Drew’s diet most, too. The love diet does work.

Jennifer Aniston’s skinny, but (sorry to say!) smoker’s skinny - old, wrinkly, disgusting cheeks and so on. Tried the ‘diet’, it only backfires in a month or so when the metabolism adjusts.
Too bad, so sad.
And the person who mentioned m&m - did you actually mean ‘I purge when I have an m&m’ / not binge? I don'’t get it! Binge/purge are not the same things!!!

Heidi works with that trainer and follows a very strict diet featured in the book. Britney and Kevin are former dancers and when you stop dancing you get fat! Probablly some of Janets problem.

Nothing’s wrong with salmon or broccoli, I just can’t stand either. (I wish I did though, they are both very healthy!)
I doubt Rihanna keeps off the weight without going tot he gym. Ditto for Heidi.
I find Kate Walsh pretty refreshing; I happen to think she’s got a great body and am still quite baffled as to how she got onto the worst list in a previous tabloid.
You know how to lose weight? Eat smaller portions, cut out the junk food, and exercise. It’s as easy as that. I have a friend who just lost like 90 lbs in a year. She decided that junk food was something that she doesn’t need regularly in her diet. She started snacking on veggies instead of chips, and bought a treadmill.(and uses it). Life isn’t about being the smallest person you can be, it’s about being the best person you can be. How many people don’t feel better about themselves and everything else when they eat healthy food regularly, and exercise. Live life happy, not mad at the world b/c your carrying around a couple extra lbs, or you can’t eat for fear that you’ll gain a couple lbs.
darn i love the scans - oh well, i’ve restarted my Star subscription after coming here for a few months - in touch sounds like the standard ‘healthy eating plan’ every actress is supposedly on - i can’t see Drew losing any weight but i can see why she might - that Justin is pretty slim and i’d hate to be bigger than a boy - i still think Brit is pregnant - you can tell Kate Walsh is obsessed with her weight because her body looks like she’s always starving it (but no exercise) and 20 more pounds she’ll be in the skeleton files

Also, I’ve been on the Zone diet and I love it. I just need to stick to it. I used to weigh 133…I’ve had 2 kids and I now weigh 118. I did the Zone after both babies. I also still do in the spring to get ready for bikini season:) LOVE IT! I like that you can have a variety…and some BREAD!

Also, I have done the Zone diet several times. I LOVE IT! I weighed 133 then I was pregnant and gained a ton…I lost it all plus some with the Zone. I weighed 120 thanks to the Zone when I got pregnant with my 2nd boy, I only gained 30 with him then I lost it all plus some with the Zone afterwards. I weighed 110. I now weigh 118 but that’s because I look a little sickly at 110.

As for other the other celebs…what a crock. Like ANYone is that strict and consistent with their diet.
Love diet? Yeah, losing the pounds is good, then you get comfortable with each other and pack it back on and then some. Not a great option.
I love Cameron’s diet b/c it’s totally realistic to maintain her weight. And sounds like a great life style option. Plus, cooking at home with fresh ingredients, if you have the time & energy, is really the such a great way to stay healthy.
I disagree with “Mouse” on the fact that no one can be strict and consistent in their diet. I have maintained a very clean diet (low-fat and relatively low-carb vegetarian) for more than 5 years. I also work out 4-5 times a week. And I’m not a celebrity; I am sure if my livelihood depended on it, I could still kick it up a notch or two to stay in top form. While some of these celebs surely engage in unhealthy habits, some of them simply have willpower and dedication.
Shayna, what I’m saying is that these tabloids make it sound like they don’t deviate from these healthy diets at all and are kind of unrealistic for MOST people. It’s great that you are that committed to a healthy diet and lifestyle - Sadly you are the exception. And as blind as some tabloid reader are, they start to believe that strict diets are the only way to lose weight and stay trim. Probably too drastic of a change for most people. So I have a big issue with ‘celebrity diet secrets’ articles.
Plus Janet, Rihanna, Mariah and Drew are total yoyo dieters. With the exception of Drew, these women only diet because of pressure to sell records.

Why do so many people think you need a personal trainer, private chef, a shaman, a witch doctor, and a magician to lose weight? All this, “Oh, if I had a vagillion dollars, I could hire all those people and look as good as _____ [insert name of preferred vapid celebrity], too!”?
Tamjoy’s got it right. Cut out the crap, get off your ass, dedicate yourself to bettering yourself, don’t follow any two-bit fad diets or look for a quick fix, and it’ll happen. I’m not a celebrity, but somehow I manage to get up at 4:30 in the morning, get my 44-year-old ass to the gym, sweat to more than the oldies, shop on my own for health food and cook it (very easy recipes), and I’ll be damned if I don’t look and feel better than every celebritwit on this site.
Oh, and I also indulge in CRAP food once in a while, too. And I don’t just mean a handful of guilt-ridden chips. No, we’re talking all-out pig-outs, where I just say, “Who the f*ck cares??!” and go about it with abandon. Because I know it’s not an everyday thing. And damn it, it’s FUN.
It’s all about discipline, dedication, and really really wanting it. No magic, no vagillions of dollars, no outside help.
I would say that posting the articles is fair use (17 U.S. Code section 107) as long as you provide commentary or criticism after the article (like a news program showing a clip from a movie). Have you actually received any C & D notices from any of the publishers?
