Angelina Jolie’s Kids Eat Cheetos
Category: Celebrity Diets, Misc Celebs & Diet News, Angelina Jolie
Pregnant Angelina Jolie and her adorable children were recently seen in New Orleans, leaving a corner store with what looks to be chemical-laden junk food.

Three of the kids had bags of Cheetos and one of them had a bottle of some type of sports drink. Kind of surprising since it doesn’t look like Angelina herself touches anything remotely fattening or sugary!

Wow, I think that is the most normal thing she has done.
OMG! Her kids are eating junk food!!!! What a bad mother!!!
Seriously, what is wrong with that?
Aw, people should leave her alone.
She’s a mother, she probably gives her kids whatever they want.
Chlamydia, who said she was doing anything wrong? I was just pointing it out.
She is so beautiful, and her children only emphasize that fact. Seriously, Greek Goddess beautiful.
SHiloh eats Cheetos! If I could be guarantee’d that I’d be that beautiful if I gave birth, I might be more inclined.
Rian, I was just anticipating the crazy pro-ana comments
why is it surprising exactly? Sorry but I’m a bit lost as to the point of this post - angelinas kids sometimes eat junkfood, so what? I’d be surprised if they DIDN’T ever eat junk food - now that would be unusual! Almost all kids eat junk food from time to time, that includes the children of slim mothers, skinny mothers, and overweight mothers.
I think that’s cool. When Mom’s are in great shape and don’t touch bad food, but then let their children indulge. It’s healthy. Nothing’s worse when you’re a kid then going to your friedns house who’s mom is a health crazed nut and having fruit for snack!
I don’t think this is remotely abnormal, but I DO think there’s something wrong with it. Why feed your kids junk food? You know it is bad for them. You know there’s an obesity epidemic. You’ve been around enough trainers and nutritionists to know what is good and what isn’t. You have all the resources to make the best decisions for your children. WHY feed them crap?
Can’t stand her for disguising her desire for publicity and attenion as humanitarianism and walking around as if she’s such a saint despite having broken up three marriages.
But I give her props for letting her kids be kids and have a bag of cheetos.
I have to admit, I was surprised when I saw these photos. Maybe she’s trying to raise her children to be as “normal” as possible, thus the trip the corner store for junk food? Still, I would have pegged her as one of the Hollywood hippie types who feeds her kids all organic foods or something. She just seems like that sort of person.
I have a 2.5-year-old little girl, and I do not feed her this kind of food. I know she will have it later in life, but I think it’s really important to establish healthy eating habits early, so she’ll make better food choices later. Perhaps I am hypersensitive to giving junk to kids since I struggle a bit with my weight and don’t want my daughter to have to go through the same thing.
I know what you mean, Rian, I’m surprised too! But I guess all kids have junk every now and then.
I want this dress…anyone know where its from?
andrea - I felt the need to reply to your comment as I think it is very unfair. Of course it is wrong to feed your kids with junk food all the time and allow them to become overweight and or/unhealthy, thats very wrong and I dont think anyone here would dispute that. However even most nutritionists would agree that a little “junk” is fine in moderation - if anything, its a good thing! Kids have their candy and cheetos and adults have their tasty desserts and treats they also like to indulge in from time to time. In european countries its very normal and part of the lifestyle in many places to indulge in “unhealthy” foods from time to time - and we do not face the same obesity epidemic that you do in the states! Its all about having the right, balanced, attitude. Not fearing sweets, desserts and “junk” food but knowing that this food is infact one of lifes pleasures that does a person GOOD in moderation
. So therefore I must disagree that there is something “wrong” with angelina allowing her children some junk food, her kids are clearly not overweight and look to be healthy and happy.
thank you cure!
you are so right… if you teach your children that this kind of food is forbidden, of course they are going to want it even more! instead, teach them that there is a healthy balance and that they can enjoy this stuff in MODERATION
@chlamydia: the best nickname ever!
@andrea-just asking: are you the same andrea in the obama post? the anti-smoking anti-religion campaigner? because if so I get the picture. I assume you also love pets, never wear fur, recycle, believe in inherent goodness of the human race but also drive an SUV. You know, I am the bitter, lupus-free smart pants from that post also. I am not picking on you I swear to God but seriously please do not take it personal but “you” virtuous people drive me nuts! you think we should shoot angelina for letting one of her multicoloured kids have her cheetos? what? is she gonna get obese? and if she does angelina can always purchase another one with similar characteristics-no harm done and the zen of the holy family will not be distorted. Another “black” kid will be saved out of its misery for some months and share the same house with santa angelina and the man-who-used-to-have-some-balls-before
sounds like she is being attacked for letting her kids indulge in a bit of junk food. healthy kids - and adults for that matter - can indulge in the occasional snack. i doubt these kids live on cheetos. look at maddox. she adopted him when he was like 7 months old…now he’s what 6? 7? anyway, my point is he looks like a very healthy child.
I dont see anything wrong with this at all. How often do we see these kids out eating junk food? Plus they are out and about, walking to the shop (or so it appears) and doing it all together. If I had 4 kids I dont think I could handle a family stroll anywhere!
they’re kids. what do you want them to eat?
Andrea is right. I will never feed my children brightly colored and artificially flavored poison disguised as food. And to take it one step further, I’m not going to let them have any fun either. This country is in the middle of a stupidity epidemic. My children will never see the light of day as long as a book remains unread and a florescent light still glows bright.
Personally, I think it’s fine to let kids (and adults) indulge in junk food once in a while. Besides, her kids are not overweight.
SO with T. Jones on this one!
I don’t think there’s nothing wrong with ocasional junk food consumption. Specially if you’re under the age of 10 when you tend to move a lot…obviosly kids shoulnd’t be kept alive on junk food - thats what leads to obese children. so I think it’s very cool that Angelina allows her kids to eat Cheetos once in a while. They’re kids!!!!!!!!
oh and besides, I love her dress.
Usually I like her, but she looks like she thinks she is some kind of Mother Jesus leading the “saved” children. The junk food just adds to the irony!
wow, some of you guys need to CHILL OUT. I can sense some serious CONTROL FREAK PARENTS on here
A weekly treat of crisps is hardly the problem with society. More an extreme vascillation between fear and restriction which in turn causes a need for comfort and overeating.
Do you really want to deprive children of a healthy MODERATE diet, by instilling in them an anxious, psychologically fraught connection with food? NO? Then don’t deprive them of a little treat every now and then.
Tim jones and tinka - I feel sorry for your prospective children. They’ll probably grow up either hating themselves, or you.
I’ve read on other sites that she herself loves junk food and has been seen down there in N.O. eating mcdonalds burgers and fried chicken. She apparently has a weakness for fried foods that she acknowledges. So no, she’s not just sucking down tofu like everyone thinks.
Kids are just that…kids. They should have some fun, and they should be able to have a little bit of junk food now and then. I think if you never give them any junk food, they’ll just end up with an unhealthy relationship with food, which isn’t any good either.
Obviously that’s not to say that kids should grow up on chicken nuggets, fries, soda, candy, and cheese doodles…I just don’t think Ang or anyone should be raked across the coals for occassionaly giving her kids something other than carrot sticks. People are so judgmental!
lmaoo has anyone noticd the woman in the first oic looking out the window and spying on angelina?
tim jones…the sarcasm is appreciated
anyway jolie scary thin/ED ridden as she was before pregnancy isn’t as nutty a mother as madonna
you can’t forbid kids from eating junk, you may not encourage it but forbidden things tend to look very desirable to kids and jolie seems to be a brill mum as she hasn’t pawned of her kids to numerous nannies as is the norm in hollywood
OMG I don’t think Angelina was being attacked by the mod. It was just an observation that the kids were eating a little junky, which is a little surprising since Angelina eats ultra wacky-healthy. It’s good that she lets the kids indulge now and then. At least that’s how I took the moderator’s comments.
you guys, really….there is nothing wrong with giving your kids junk food now and again!! In fact, its way better than not ever giving it to them so that when they are at school, at friends, whatever, they don’t overeat it like its taboo or something. You are sending the wrong message never letting your kids indulge! I’m sure Angelina, and no responsible parent, lets their kids snack all day everyday on Cheetos.
So what?
Wow. Normalcy? Surely you jest!
Frankly–I’m with the rest of the crowd here: every now and then, a treat like cheetos or what-not is NOT a bad thing. When this kind of food is a staple in your diet… THEN you have a problem.
cure, this is a celebrity diet, weight and exercise blog. I’m reporting on what celebrities eat… like I often do… and that’s the reason behind this post. I’m staying neutral about my health-related opinions on them eating chemically-enhanced junk food, though. (Trust me, I do have a very strong opinion about it but I’m not in a mood to get yelled at today, so I’m staying quiet!)
UMMMM, u ppl act like its a crime to be have junk food. Angelina is letting her kids experience everything life has to offer. O and tim jones calm down, u need to get out more bc believe it or not junk food once in a while won’t kill you.
No, it is not OK to feed young children such food! They are at the important stage of acquiring tastes for various foods. Giving them sugar and fat and greasy crap is only encourging them to eat unhealthily when they get older.
They’ve recently had to lower the life expectancy rate because of out-of-control obesity that is sweeping the nation. The trouble starts at home when parents feed their children fast food and junk. The child acquires a taste for it and wants more.
Furthermore, foods like chips and fast food and sugar cookies are filled with chemicals that our bodies don’t know how to process. Our bodies are forced to store the chemicals in our body fat and other places.
Why start your children off on a path leading to obesity and health problems?
yah she feeds her kids so much shit but when she’s not preggers she dosent feed herself!
THAT IS NOT FOOD! FOOD IS WHAT NATURE GAVE US!!!! NOT PROCESSED SHIT. NO ONE SHOULD EAT IT!!!!
The junk food now and then is better than giving them weird food issues. It’s when you start restricting things that you obsess about them.
I, for one, haven’t had a Cheeto in about 7 years, but I bet I’m going to dream about them tonight. *sigh* Perhaps if I had a little bag of junk every once in a while I wouldn’t be such a freak about food.
Junk food is allowed now and then. I raised my daughter with health food mostly and a little junk thrown in never harmed anyone.
The problem occurs when kids are deprived of the junk and seek it out later. Of course being fed a regular diet of the stuff is terrible.
What I see is a lot of people justifying their own consumption of the ‘occasional junk food’. In reality, it isn’t any more ok to feed that crap to kids than it is to eat it yourself, and we ALL know junk food is just that… junk. I have a one year old son and for snacks we eat dried and fresh fruit, rice cakes, nuts and whole grain products. There are healthy versions of junk food that at least have nutritional value, like veggie booty, pirates booty and yummy fruitabu strips that taste just like candy but are all organic. You might think me ‘holier than thou’ because I recycle, eat organic and am vegan, but I see it as simply smart. I want what is best for my son so I don’t put chemicals on his skin or in his body… children can’t make informed decisions about their nutrition, so we have to. Shame on the parents who feed their kids crap like this. You should know better.
Mmmmmmmm cheetos
ps - those kids are so cute!
In a world that thrives on junk food, I think that *psychologically* it is unhealthier to ban your child from eating junk food than it is to lead by example and deed, showing them that it is ok to have junk food ON OCCASSION.
If a child never has junk food then processed, fattening foods will be seen as both mysterious and naughty. There will be an allure surrounding them, and a guilt for wanting them, leading to children either hiding their eating habits from parents (unhealthy of itself) or simply rebelling and eating whatever the heck they want.
It is no doubt physically great for your kids if you don’t feed them ANY junk food - but once that kid is autonomous, he/she will eat WHATEVER they want and it won’t be YOUR influence that they care about the most. Prepare your kids.
I grew up in Africa, and my diet was sooooo healthy. I had no idea about pizza, crisps, chips, chocolate etc. Then I moved to England and you know what? I ate as much as I could, because I felt as if I had been deprived. Angelina’s kids won’t have that - they will think cheetos are kind of normal, but you don’t really eat them everyday because I bet she feeds them all sorts of other healthy stuff too.
rebecca, seeing as you called chips, “crisps,” I am going to go out on a limb here and presume you are English. With all of that being said, you are an embarrassment to your queen. England is the land of sarcasm, yet you somehow seem unaware of its existence.
sunshine, good one! Oh, you nailed me.
A-bomb, I am probably the strictest and healthiest eater on this site, and even I can appreciate junk food’s place in a child’s diet. Also, dried fruit is not that unhealthful. High amounts of added sugar, organic or not, is not healthful. Rice Cakes are an archaic health food left over from a bygone era of fitness characterized by purple leotards with belts coupled with matching leg warmers. If you are eating these products because you believe they are healthful, then you are wrong, but if you are eating them just for pleasure, why not indulge then? A rice cake and a few oreos are both over-processed, chemically stabilized and flavored garbage. Why not pick the one that tastes better? The term, “Whole-grain” products, is too ambiguous to address. Fruits and nuts, on the other hand, are fantastic.
Abomb, correction: it should read, “dried fruit is not that healthful.”
why is she so dressed up?lol thats what i am confused abnout she looks really good but jeeze
lol shiloh has her own personal bag
I’m not against all junk food, but I think it’s pretty dang selfish of Angelina to eat a very clean, probably organic diet and feed her kids crap. I don’t think you should deprive your kids of treats, but you can feed them healthy treats that they like. My dad was a health nut and as a kid, we never had chips or snack cakes or soda. We had granola bars or apples or celery with peanut butter or homemade pudding. Stuff that’s not processed and dyed with food coloring.
Denying your kids of ALL fun food will probably set them up for problems later, but when kids are this young, it’s really really important to feed them NUTRITIOUS food so they can grow and develop a palate for all kinds of food. Otherwise, they’ll end up like my brother in law…hating everything but mac and cheese and Coke.
Renita, if I may-
my mom NEVER allowed me candy or junk. Like, hardly ever. I was a scrawny kid. When I could have it, I snuck it in all the time & BLEW UP. I wasn’t obese; middle school I was the girl who had “boobs”, but also the girl who was “chunky”. I didn’t want to go to high school fat, so I starved myself the entire way through so that I stayed thin. My mom would force me to eat in front of her, and I would hide it in my cheeks and spit it out in the bathroom. After starvation (college), I again went to junk food. And blew up again. Now, I like healthy foods (probably because I was exposed to them at a young age) and am maintaining my weight by focusing on being healthy, and indulging myself in small, moderate ways.
The point is, my mom did what you are doing for the same reasons you are doing them. Encourage her to eat healthy because she’ll be strong and pretty; encourage sports & jumprope. Don’t worry; the rest will work itself out. My two best friends played sports & had access to a ton of junk food, and they have celebrity-gorgeous bodies now- seriously.
Sorry for the long blog, but best of luck & kudos to you for caring about your kid. I never want kids, so all mothers, in my eyes, are awesome.
I like cheetos
it’s not dressed up, it’s just a basic cotton maxi dress, it’s not like she’s in blingy heels and wearing a tonne of jewellery or anything….
i’m glad to see that these are normal kids eating cheetos and drinking sports drinks. that’s what kids want! i wish i could still eat that stuff and not have to mentally calculate how many more reps at the gym it will take for me to repent!
she strikes me as the pseudo-ano type (i mean, how skinny does she want to get!)… so it’s good she doesn’t project the need to be super thin on her kids.
i wonder if i’m wrong about her being sort of anorexic. i mean, if you’ve seen Gia, she is SO much thinner now. maybe she has just lost her “baby fat” and is aging more now… but, if so, she looks very old to me for young 30s.
I saw that pic and figured the kids get to get a treat at the corner store… who didn’t love to do that as a kid? Best to let them do that once in awhile and not keep it around the house… that’s called moderation.
I love Angelinas style and the way she dresses. I love the dress she has on. I just wish she did not have all of her tattoos. They look trashy although she is beautiful. Her kids are eating some junk food so what!!!!!
Kids eating candy? Well I NEVER!
Just shut the hell up all of you.
Definately not the 1st time I’ve seen a photo op of Jolie and co. w/cheetos. She is probably overwhelmed with so many children under 5 and just gives them anything to keep them controlled. Too bad they arn’t walking around with fruit. . . And to think two more on the way. She I believe is trying to replace something missing in her life with babies. Another one of her quirks-like cutting, blood viles around the neck, and making a show of public displays of affection (Billy Bob Thornton days). In my view she’s a mess.
I agree with Tim Jones At first I was thinking that my ideas about my children’s diet has changed since I had kids. His post made me feel like a bad mom so it is back to controlling everything my kids eat. I would die or kill before I allow my children to even look at a bag of Cheetoh’s lest they gain 15 pounds on-site. Now to do a colon cleanse on my son since I know his granny has poisoned him by allowing him to lick some chips once or twice.
Listen ‘leah’ Angelina Jolie is way cooler and way better looking than you’ll ever hope to be, she plays cool characters in movies and she just gave about four million dollars of her own money to charity and you want to call her a mess cause she didn’t give her kid wheatgrass? Eff off.
Thanks for your psychiatric evaluation though it really blew my mind.
Damn it tim jones, I agree with you again. And I’d already deemed you preachy and full of yourself…’as long as one fluorescent light still burns bright’- very cool.
And leah: ’something missing in her life’? Like a great job, four healthy children, tons of money and Brad Pitt as a husband?
You forgot to mention the brother-kissing incident you and all the other self-righteous moralists always drag out of the closet. AND she has tatoos.
I think if you don’t let the kids eat junk food occasionally, they’ll be deprived and will eat more of it when they’re grown up / can afford to.
My mum didn’t allow me to eat junk / fast food when I was growing up, and I used to eat 3 ice creams a day (only) when I was in my early twenties. Now I’ve become “normal” again after dealing with those issues.
Look at Britney Spears! She was so controlled when young, and all the depravation busted out BIG TIME when she’s in her 20s. So I think Angelina allowing them to eat junk shows that she’s a normal mummy.
What’s wrong with potatos?
Honestly, yeah..the food is junk. But, isn’t this just a normal American treat? I don’t think anyone of us were never given a bag of chips for a snack growing up.
Angelina looks so healthy here. She looks rather small for carrying twins, but she is all belly in her pregnancies. Her arms and legs just remain the same…sticks!
As long as one doesn’t eat junk food every day but only once or twice a week, it’s fine. I do eat potato chips or tortilla chips once a week and I’m fine
What an adorable family.
I love the son with the mohawk. Soooo cute.
OMG! What is she wearing?!
Sure a little junk food occasionally is ok but why 3 bags of cheetos between 4 small children? 1 bag to share would be more than enough.
I’m glad to see this. Shows there’s some normalcy and fun in the family. They eat fast food, too–I’ve seen several photos of Angie and Brad out grabbing it.
am I the only one confused by how there are 3 bags of cheetos? Are they getting paid to promote them? Just seems strange to buy one big and two small bags of all the same thing?
first of all- tim jones you are hilarious. high five. its a sad day when people can’t even manage to understand high quality sarcasm.
second- leah if you have the audacity to refer to a woman who travels the world promoting humanitarian causes, works with refugees through UNHCR, and who has four beautiful and healthy children [mind you all the while coming home to brad pitt] a “mess”… sweetie i hope you can conjure up a better resume- or just quit it with the judgemental shit ASAP because you sound ignorant and just a TAD jealous. also- i’m not her publicist or her BFF but i do find it SO annoying that the one celeb who actually has a good cause and makes a positive difference in lives that she techinally doesn’t HAVE to touch (for what ever reason- she’s helped change the lives of THREE children) gets picked apart regularly. FOR CHEETOS. i mean does one snack REALLY matter?? i highly doubt she regularly feeds them anything you can buy at a convenience store so please. STFU.
ooh i totally agree with renita…establish healthy eating first because let’s face it…kids WILL EAT candies, and junky foods later..that’s just how it is…they’ll be in school and eat these type of foods with friends…
people are being soooo uptight and make a big deal out of nothing!
we ALL used to eat it in school at 9 and 10 years old even younger..and none of us is ill or overweight..
they’re kids, let them enjoy
there are similar dresses at Mango
You Americans are f*cked! Please don´t take it wrong(is a figure of speech),but i don´t get you, simple as that,u always seem to rock from one extreme to another, can´t you just be in the f*n middle for a while.Big deal she gave her kids some snacks, booooohooo,my God!And about the organic crap,i mean SCAM,do you in your clear minds beleive that is possible to grow something only pouring some water on top!!!and what u use destilated water or…I grow up at a farm and u always have to spray the harvest with something otherwise it gets eaten by worms or the apple for example doesn´t grow bigger than a small cherry. But well if you want to pay for “organic” stuff 5 times more the normal price,GO AHEAD! Can´t you just pleeease be more human and enjoy life,i have the feeling here some people are gonna live eternal,or that´s what the believe.
“Diet=dying of hunger to live longer!”
what a life…,i am very slim-164cm and 48kg. but i eat everything and enjoy food,i just eat in moderation cause anything you eat or do if you cross the limits, its unhealthy.´So just enjoy, today u r here, tomorrow might be gone,so live!
You can’t “ban” junk foods from your kid’s diet unless it’s something they’re already used to. So like Andrea said, why would you get them accustomed to it if there’s a healthier alternative? It’s not about standing over your kids taking food away from them. It’s about GIVING THEM what’s good for them. They’ll inevitably eat junk occasionally, but that doesn’t mean you can’t make an effort the rest of the time. My mom was into bran flakes and vegetables and that’s what I naturally gravitate to as an adult. I simply never acquired the taste for over-processed, salty, nutrient and fiber free food.
I am so glad I was raised to appreciate healthy food. I eat junk if I want it (I don’t have a “fear”
but I rarely want it. Thanks mom.
I am also impressed by the psychic powers of yeast. Amazing.
Sacharomyces cerevisiae, you’ve got me partially pegged. I do recycle, I do love pets, I do shop in the health food section. I don’t wear fur. But I’m not a vegan- I eat venison and seafood. And I don’t drive an SUV. And honestly, I don’t believe in the good of the human spirit.
What I’m really saying about this is WHY cheetos? I’m not saying they should never have fat or calories. But why some completely unnatural overprocessed CRAP? When I have kids I’ll make the best decisions for them, which means healthy food. Most kids, if you raise them this way, would rather have healthy snacks anyway.
Also, I have personal issues with this because my parents took the attitude that kids should have whatever they want, and as a result I spent my whole childhood very fat and miserable.
You want to feed your kids crap like this, fine, but I won’t and I’m entitled to my opinion. I take the “Honey We’re Killing the Kids” approach to this one.
This is probably the most normal thing she’s ever done.
There’s nothing wrong with allowing kids a treat now and then. I was allowed crisps and sweets as treat as a child, and I’ve never been fat or obese in my life, and neither has anyone else in my family.
Everything in moderation.
They are so cute and Angelina looks fabulous.First!
To comment on her style. . . For a while she seemed to be going more classic. Recently she seems to be reverting to her hippy-dippy style (influenced perhaps by her mom?). Frankly, I don’t think it is very flattering. Better watch it, Brad has a confirmed history of serial monogamy. . .
perhaps it’s the Europeans posting on this site that have a better grip on how to handle junk food. Occasional indulgence and a healthy, um, relationship with foods that aren’t good for you. renita makes an excellent point and so does vitro at the core of his/her posting about not going one extreme or the other. although if we Americans grew up doing that, we wouldn’t have enough postings for this kind of a site would we engage in such lively debate about it.
omg they are soo cute
Her kids eat cheetos. Why is that surprising?
This post makes me homesick for New Orleans.
The periodic junk food I ate as a child didn’t stop me from growing up eating a mostly healthy diet and eating a healthy diet and exercising now. Everyone needs a treat now and then.
She’s beautiful.
Does anyone else think AJ is very… fake? I saw those fake bump pictures and I can’t believe nobody’s talking about it still.
I don’t mind the other three that are walking eating junk food. But the one in her arm seems young to be eating that kind of food specially cheetos. But whatever.
Hehe, I wonder if she likes the puffy, twisty, or crunchy cheetos? I like the puffy, but they get all stuck in my teeth. Then my fingers get all orange. Then I have a problem.
afterall she is only human.
For the record, Tim Jones, I never feed myself or my child anything with ‘added sugar’, including dried fruit. And rice cakes are good for you… the ones we buy are all organic and the only thing added is salt and seaweed. My husband owns an all organic, vegetarian cafe so I highly doubt you eat healthier than us. We do eat our own version of junk food, it’s just higher in quality than the crap food most people eat. Trust me, I need no nutrition lecture from you… why do you think I’m ‘wrong’ for believing that organic rice and organic fruit are healthy? Are you going to tell me next that the spirulina my kid eats by the spoonful isn’t that good for him either, or that he’s going to grow up feeling deprived because he will be raised vegetarian/vegan? Please. There is more to food as pleasure than chemical laden cheetos… I’d rather have REAL chocolate, real food, than the junk any day, and once you eat that way you grow accustomed to it and the junk food doesn’t even seem remotely appealing. I assume that my child has enough intelligence to understand WHY those foods aren’t good to eat. He’ll most likely thank me when he’s older, rather than have food issues as some of you would like to think.
I have to reply to cure and say that, sure candy, cheetos whatever are fine, but only if they’re organic and don’t contain refined sugars and preservatives. Frito Lay actually makes a “Naturals” line that includes cheetos made with whole grains, organic cheese, and sea salt. I understand that not every parent can afford more expensive organic food but someone like Angelina Jolie sure can.
Spectra - no offense, but I happen to know you used to be obese. Perhaps growing up with all “healthy” food and no junk at all made you seek it out once you were on your own.
My parents allowed junk food in the house. No I was not fed a steady diet of Cheetos. Much of the food they cooked was healthy and balanced. We had veggies with every meal. They just didn’t associate an Oreo now and then with OMGobesity. Guess what? I have never been overweight. IMO it’s the demonizing of fast food and junk food in this country that is causing parents to be overcontrolling and kids to seek it out as soon as they’re away from their parents.
I also don’t believe that things like trans fats are responsible for the so-called obesity “epidemic.” Guess what? Crisco was invented in the early 1900s. But somehow we’ve only been having a problem since the 1980’s.
Look at her kids. Do they look like they’re about to get diagnosed with type 2 diabetes? They look perfectly healthy to me.
There is nothing wrong with having a few Cheetos.
I come from a long line of very vain people.
As a child my Aunt decided my cousin was fat (barely chubby)so she put her on a diet for the next 10 years. When I visited her house, her sibs & I were allowed chips & soda, but she had to eat raw veggies or fruit. Same thing at the holidays. Anyway - she went to college & came home at least 100 lbs heavier. We all think it’s because she wasn’t allowed any treats as a child & went completely crazy out on her own. It’s also her strange way to get revenge on my aunt.
A-bomb, even dried fruit that does not have sugar added to it is not all that great. The drying process not only destroys most of the Vitamin C, but depending on the exact drying methods used, 35-70% of the phytochemicals are lost as well. Because the drying process virtually extracts all water from the fruit, you are left with a very concentrated, and non-satiating, source of sugar. A small single-serving size box of raisins contains 30g of sugar. I never said organic fruit was unhealthful, I simply stated dried fruit, organic or not, is not as healthful as you think. The same goes for organic rice. Organic rice is fine, but rice cakes are usually empty calories. And despite your husband’s ownership of an organic cafe, I still eat more healthfully than you because I not only eat an enourmous amount of organically grown seasonal fruits and vegetables, but organic, grass-feed meat and a ton of fish oil as well.
A-bomb,
It seems that only the health food stores in my area and yours carry dried fruit without added sugar and rice cakes with all natural ingredients, as everyone else seems totally unaware of these.
God forbid we all learn to read nutrition labels.
Girly Girl–How dare you go ahead and psychoanalyze WHY I was obese? I’ll have you know that the reason I was obese had nothing to do with what I ate; it was how much of it I was eating. Too much of ANY food is not a good thing, but I know that if I had grown up eating Cheetos and soda all the time, I would have been a hell of a lot heavier than I was. Plus, I was not a very active kid, so I had that against me too. Once I started moving again and focusing mostly on eating reasonable portions of food (yes, treats too), yeah, I lost weight. I never did eat a ton of junk to “rebel” against my parents. If anything, I’d thank them now…I actually LIKE most fruits, veggies, and whole grain products and I don’t like the flavor of most processed stuff. Like I said, there’s nothing wrong with giving your kid treats, but giving them cheese-coated packing peanuts is not exactly a treat that’s good for them. Of course a kid is going to want crap…they’re kids and don’t know any better. It’s a parent’s responsibility to make sure they get adequate nutrition and have a healthy attitude toward food.
Like I said before Tim, I don’t need a nutrition lecture from the likes of you. My point was that I feed my child snacks that, regardless of their format, are nutritionally superior to ‘fruit snacks’ and ‘cheetos’ because they come from whole foods. You assume eating red meat is healthy, and I disagree wholeheartedly. I won’t even begin to debate that with you, because I don’t give a crap what you put in your mouth. It is said vegetarians live longer, so there.
My mum never fed me junk food.
Then when I moved out, that’s all I ate.
After that I gained about 20lbs.
Then developed an eating disorder and it will forever affect my life.
You shouldn’t keep your kids away from junk.. but don’t over do it. If you deny your kid all this they’ll end up binging when they’re older.
A-bomb, you missed my point. But regardless, your vegan conviction to the evils of red meat prove you really do not read the scientific literature, you simply parrot what other vegans say. Not eating meat for ethical reasons, while I don’t agree with it, is at least respectable. Not eating red meat because you believe it unhealthful is ignorant and lazy. And your final statement, “It is said vegetarians live longer, so there,” is absurd. Vegetarians live longer than who? Most non-vegetarian Americans eat like crap. So, what’s your point? Compare vegetarians to people who eat a wholesome omnivore diet, like myself, and then maybe your statement will mean something. Oh, and not all vegetarians eat vegetables or healthfully, for that matter. A person could only eat poptarts and skittles and still be considered a vegetarian, so there.
wow it is so funny how fired up everyone is over CHEETOS! Maybe Angelina does only give them fruits and veggies for snacks like I do with my kid at home, then when they go out and want a snack what is she supposed to find a restaurant and wait for 20 minutes for them to chop and dice the fruit for them? No the cheetos are faster and not nearly as bad as yous think. The average kid plays for hours a day( about 10 hours in my case) and they need to snack a lot because they burn the food so fast. Yes angelina wont eat it but she also doesnt have the metabolism as a 5 year old now does she? No when your older thats when you have to watch your weight. How many times did your parents tell you no you cant have doritos and powerade you have to watch your weight? Come on now this is ridiculous. Lets see when you all have kids and see how you feed them.
on another note, notice how you can see angelinas hip bones even thru her dress? She is only gaining a belly good job angie
Josh is right, if your parents denied you junk food you do tend to go a bit crazy when you go to college.
A-bomb,
i woudn´t go so far to say that the only reason some people live shorter or longer than others is being vegetarian or not:))cause causes of death can be many,is kind of stupid to come to this conclusion of yours, one thing tho is for sure-vegetarian people are dry and boring just like the food they eat:))You and your hubby can eat whatever the hell you want,of course we got he has a organic caffe, already said my opinion on “organic” stuff..but common your kid needs protein and u deffinetly do not give him all the nutrition that is needed by keeping him in vegetarian diet, vegan even worsed!!! feel for the kid tho:(
Tonight i am gonna have a juicy stake with a nice cup of wine, mmmm. Some of us want to enjoy our time on the earth,no matter how long or short is,cause excuse me but not you or me,or anyone knows when it will come to the end.
The answer is that Angelina doesnt really care about these children like she lets on. They are what gets her publicity. She is a narcissistic attention whore, like Brad. She hates Shiloh. I feel for the unborn children. They will also be hated by this woman. I am sure she will whore them out to a magazine just like she did for the others. Cheetos are the least of these kids problems.
I feel for Pax (name given to him because Angelina and Brad did not like his given name). He probably got more attention at the orphanage. Pax had been there a long time and that was his family. Angelina just calls the nanny. These pictures are obvious photo ops. She showed her pregnant belly a day or two before the oscars. WHY? To take the attention off the fact she wasnt good enough in the pathetic movie of hers and wasnt nominated. So she whored out her kids before they were even born. She used them for distract.
I’ve seen Shiloh with the potato chip bag, so this is not a rare occurance. My daughter is 3 1/2 and I don’t feed her chips or fries except for the occasional one or two and you’d never see my kids walking down the street with chips, but that’s just me. I’d rather her kids eat chips than see them on one more plane, those kids need stability!! I think Shiloh is too young for junk, I would have chosen something a bit healthier, maybe baked chips?
It’s amazing how everyone here is such good friends with Angelina & Brad that they know their motives for adopting, their childrens diets while they’re at home, how much time Angelina spends with their children, how much they really love their children, their motives for appearing in public when they do, etc. Such insight!! I’m impressed.
BOTTOMLINE: anything eaten under moderation IS good…be it healthy or unhealthy foods…learn to enjoy life and indulge once in awhile…
enjoy eating “junk” or any other crap as you’d like to put it if you feel like it but always ALWAYS do it in moderation…
i have a 2 year old daughter and since she was born, i have exposed her to all sorts of food stuff…i made it a “conscious” effort to store all sorts of chips, candies, chocolates, bisquits, cookies and fruits in our fridge…even some cheetos…and hey guess what, because i have exposed her to all that stuff, she is unlike those kids who can’t resist eating chocolate or candy when they do see one…because she’s so used to “seeing” and sometimes “eating” some of those junk, she doesn’t binge on nor does she insist on eating unhealthy foods compared to those who have been restricted to eat “junk”…she even surprises me when i try to test her and give her some lollipop or something…she just says NO…instead, she OFTEN opts to eat some healthy stuff which i find very good for her…
it all boils down also as to your parenting skills and how you deal with your kids…
as for angelina letting her kids grab some “crap” ONCE IN AWHILE, good for her…and yeah, good for her kids too!
GLOW: yeah yeah…i’m in the same boat as you…lol
amazing isn’t it??
just a correction:
…she doesn’t binge on nor does she insist on eating unhealthy foods compared to those who have been restricted from eating “junk”…
Oh sometimes you just have to eat some crap like junk food. They aren’t going to die, they aren’t going to grow into obese people. Get a bit of perspective people!
i actually think that she looks like a queen(idk why lol) iono she just looks so friendly..anyway i know this is a little off topic but i did not know she had another asian child hmmmmm i find it funny that she has more adopted kids then her own(which is usually the other way around)
And are you ppl serious? You are crying about a little Cheetos and a sports drink? you try being an working mom having 4 kids under the age of 10 and see what they eat lol not Leaves & Berries!!!!
I hope the best for her and the family.
