Jaslene Gonzalez Update
May 14th, 2008 by Rian | Filed under Celebrity Weight Gain, Supermodels.Many of you probably remember Jaslene Gonzalez from ANTM - she got a lot of press last year over anorexia rumors and was photographed looking nearly emaciated more than once. (Click here if you need to refresh your memory).
However, she showed up at the CW Network 2008 Upfronts event at the Lincoln Center yesterday looking as like she has put on some much-needed poundage…
Granted, she is still very thin, but she does look quite a bit better!

she looks just as thin to me. it’s probably just the dress that makes her look like she gained. i don’t think she has an eating disorder, i think she’s just thin. but i will admit, it’s awfully unattractive.

are you kidding me? she looks the same!! and girls with eating disorders / image problems tend to wear clothes (i.e. baggy poofy dresses) that would try to disguise it. She is just as skinny as ever!

She’s still really skinny. Her arms are tiny! It’s hard to tell if she’s got an ED or not though. It’s possible that she’s naturally that slim because she’s got tiny bone structure, but I still think she’d look a lot better with a good 10 lbs on her.
Hey Rian, if you want to see uber-skinny, do a post on ANTM winner Carridee…she’s a toothpick!

LisaR I completely agree. When I first saw her on Top Model in semifinals in season 7, I was in shock b/c I swore it was a man who had been taking some Estrogen.
I hate the dress, the bag, the earrings…everything. Good for her if she’s gained.

that is some horrible make-up though, and she needs to get her forehead threaded (like plucking) if she is going to have that hairstyle

I don’t care for the dress or the hair style for her. Just doesn’t fit. Very hot body though. I think she looks perfect at the teen awards photo. She looks pretty tall, so that helps to the nice body shape and natural thinness.
noooo way. I think that probably the angle of the camera that makes her look like she has gained weight. I definitely don’t think she’s actually gained anything at all.
It’s refreshing to know that most everyone else things Natasha should have won!
I just hate the show in general. All the “top models” never go anywhere in their career. Sure, they get photo opps and maybe positions as TV personalities, but none of them become SUPER MODELS. I haven’t seen one winner yet who has reached the levels of Gemma Ward, Heidi Klum, or Elle McPherson… The show should be called, “Tyra’s excuse to still eat cheese burgers and stay active in the modeling world.” She will never pick a winner who could pass her in the modeling world, let alone someone strikingly pretty.
Anyways, that has nothing to do with the post. Haha. Jaslene looks…odd. Skinny and lanky and awkward and uncomfortable.

it’s not even her weight or something (which looks kinda natural to me, no bones popping out, paleness, dry hair..), it’s more her face and just the whole image.

Lucinda is right, none of the “top models” have gone TOP! Although I admit I love watching the show and ever since I have been looking at magazine and TV adverts completely different as I now know what’s going on behind the scenes.
Jaslene has never been my favourite, I would have loved for Natasha to win.

So much hate for this girl. I think she’s probably naturally this thin and so when she loses any weight at all she looks ill. She’s a bit gangly and akward looking, but isn’t that what a lot of designers want in a model and not necessarily a pretty face.

she is not my fav winner but i dont know i think she has something modelessque becioase she is not cookie cutter type.she is odd looking. and i also dont think its ED because her bones look so thin i think she is small boned. she does look kind of brittle like she could break at any minute. however i like this pic i think she looks good. she needs to soften her make eup its too “loud” the red lip looks tranny. i think tyra wanted a latin winner maybe thats why she won. even though i liked natasha a lot i think jaslene brought something different.

In a prior season, Jaslene won, somehow, probably since she had the most confidence of anyone.Speaking of the show ANTM, Tyra Banks finally got her wish . Last night, the winner was someone referred to as a “full figured” model. Whitney, I heard is 5′10″ and weighs 159 pounds. It is interesting to see someone described as anorexic be the winner and two seasons later a full figured model wins.

Again, this girl supports my theory that you don’t have to have any looks at ALL to be a model…just a skinny body and height. Makes sense, I suppose. Who wants to look at attractive women wearing clothes? You want to look at the clothes, right? Not the women wearing them.
I still don’t get why all the ANTM winners are so dang ugly. Probably because Tyra and those drag queens are the judges.
ugh i hate her looks so much, i was pretty angry when she won over natasha….and don’t even get me started on my hatred for tyra, she is so beyond conceited and her stupid show always overlooks the true beauties. modeling is about LOOKS not stupid challenges, tyra makes it sound like rocket science, when really, you either have it to be a model or you don’t.

I dont understand what they see on her, not attractive at all. However, it is true of the fashion industry, models cannot look better or call more attention than the clothes they wear.

She looks incredibly thin. She may have an eating disorder, but there is a girl in my class who is 5′5′’ and weighs 91 pounds. She is extremely thin but doesn’t look emancipated.
She looks the same to me. I really think that’s just how she naturally is. Some people are just that skinny. I watched that whole cyle when she was on and she was the thinnest one there & the prettiest. I think the scariest thing about Jaslene is how much she looks like Janice Dickinson sometimes!

Wow! She is way too thin. Shame on ANTM for promoting models like this who obviously have eating disorders. She has on $20 shoes from Wet Seal too. I mean when you have all that money, why not treat yourself to some top of the line shoes? Especially for an apperance! But then again she should use her money to check herself into rehab.
I love the fact that so many people feel the need to judge her face and her tattoo. Uh, God gave her that face, she can’t change it… well, she could if she wanted to be an idiot and get some surgery. But if she did that you’d be criticizing her immediately about how she didn’t need it and is just being shallow like everyone else in Hollywood.
Also, the tattoo… I happen to think it’s cute and in a good spot where she can hide it. Criticize all you want, but I bet half of you have tramp stamps. Now THAT is what I call trashy
