Fit Tips From The ‘Hills’ Girls

Ever wonder how the gorgeous girls from The Hills stay slim and fit? Lauren Conrad and Heidi Montag share some of their secrets in the latest issue of In Touch Weekly.
Lauren Conrad (who has actually gained weight recently, as seen in the above photo, which makes me wonder why she is giving diet and exercise tips) says she stays fit by:
- Cutting carbs - saying “no” to the bread basket and using lettuce for bread on sandwiches.
- Giving yourself a break - “It’s important to cheat once a week,” says Lauren.
- Don’t focus on the scale - “I don’t believe in numbers,” Lauren says.
Heidi Montag stays in super-fit shape by doing the following:
- Stomach crunches - she mixes crunches and medicine-ball tosses to strengthen her abs.
- Dance moves - Heidi’s trainer has her do dance-inspired lunges and squats to keep her legs in shape.
- Gym dates - Heidi and Spencer share a trainer and go to the gym together.
It all seems like pretty decent advice to me… what do YOU all think?

Didn’t that brat Heidi get lipo for most of her body?
Lauren has put on quite a noticeable amount of weight as seen in her thighs, but I’ll say she’s still cuter than dummy next to her. Plus, you can still give out tips on how to stay fit without actually being fit as we all have a vague idea of changes we need to make to stay fit but it’s just easier said than done.
that’s not the prettiest picture of lauren. She looks like a slob and not because she’s gained weight. The outfit is all wrong and so is the britney spears hairdo. From the neck down, Mr Ed looks halfway decent.
I think it is interesting how Lauren’s tips focus on what (or what not) to eat and Heidi’s tips are all about exercising. It definitely says something since Heidi always looks toned and slim while Lauren’s weight seems to bounce around and fluctuate a lot more.

Lauren’s jeans definitely don’t help.
Heidi, imo, was born with that skinniness, and anything that didn’t come naturally to her, she had surgically enhanced. Lauren, it is obvious, works out, and takes care of herself…although that is the worst picture of her ever!
Lauren - defo gained weight. Pity.
Heidi - tacky and plasticky looking. Poor girl tries sooo hard.
Tips - no carbs, exercise? Pretty basic. Good advice.

And I think Heidi SHOULD be saying yes to it as well. The only thing that holds her up andmore are her silicon titties!

Seeing “tips from” these useless hacks makes me want to throw up, so yeah, I guess it’s working.
I think they’re both obnoxious human beings and just the mention of them makes my eye twitch and my IQ drop below room temperture…but Heidi at least a cute body. And I appreciate that she’s being honest that she has to work out to mentain. She isn’t attractive at all to me though, she looks too typical and plastic.
the day i start using lettuce instead of bread on my sandwhiches is that I request someone take me out back and shoot me. once you start cutting carbs in that manner you cannot go back without gaining weight, which makes carb reduction dieting so tricky
Heidi has a great body minus the breasts! How much do you think she weighs? With and without boobs? lol I would say at 5′3 106 pounds without boobs and 112 with boobs haha!
Um..Lauren’s always had an issue with her very very pear shaped body…think…what is she always wearing?…boring A line dresses that focus on her waist or upper body…So what possessed her to wear those sausagey pants!?!

I couldn’t agree more breads, if we’re tolerant about stick thin women we have to be tolerant about other body shapes as well. And what’s wrong with a little variety?

Lauren’s thighs are big (is it National Big Thigh Day and someone forgot to tell me?). Heidi looks fake as usual. No diet revelations given - anyone knows low carbs and exercise = results.
Thank you spanktacular–I agree. If you want a sandwich have one. I saw a zone article once that suggested using slices of eggplant as bread. I have seen some weird diet mess but that really was a total head scratcher.
The jeans Lauren is wearing are not exactly flattering–yikes.
i think heidi does nothing with her life apart from maintaining her present figure. and as for lauren conrad, yeah, she’s not in a state where she can give advices to people.

Heidi admits that she works out for like an hour a day, so I can believe that she probably works for her body. I don’t know if Lauren works out or if she just stays thin by dieting, but the tips she’s offering are pretty generic. Looks like she’s been taking a couple extra “cheat days” lately though.
Oh, and the whole “date at the gym with Spencer” thing made me throw up in my mouth a little. Not exactly the weight loss strategy I was going for, but whatever.

Lettuce instead of bread is really good with certain sandwiches. BUT as a wrap…not sandwich form.
Cheating - I agree…It keeps you on track all the other days. As long as you do it within reason.
Dont focus on the scale? UH yeh…I think thats how everyone ends up fat eventually. It doesnt matter if YOU believe in numbers. You butt will for you!
Workouts - ehhh…Yeh you gotta workout if you want to look like you workout. No big surprise. People that say they dont workout and look like that are liars or just active in everyday life and they dont realize it.
Gym dates - PASS. I dont want to workout with the boyfriend. Id rather be fat or drinking or both.

Looks like Lauren should not be wearing skinny jeans, she’s the one that needs to be taking tips, not giving them out. Pretty girl, but not in a position to be giving body tips to others.

Heidi is tall and skinny, but she looks so fake and made-up. Ugh.
And someone should really tell Lauren that skinny jeans NEVER flatter a pear-shaped body. It’ll just accentuate it even more and your hips will look big. But I definitely prefer her to plastic Heidi! For one, she looks more down to earth
But the advice for cutting out carbs is not a viable solution for long-term weight loss. Because that will just MAKE you crave them even more. Did you know that eating carbs make you as happy as eating chocolate? So depriving yourself of them makes you cranky and you’ll just slip back into the ‘what the heck, I’ll eat them, calories be damned’ mode.
Oh come on, those pictures are so unfair… it’s very unflattering of Lauren and Heidi looks pretty good. We all know Lauren isn’t fat, it’s just a bad picture and a bad outfit. And yay…basic advice from people who don’t adhere to it. I was never into the whole low carb thing, they taste too good!
Heidi can spend her life working out and getting plastic surgery and it wont make up for her horse face.

Here, her legs look a bit chubby, but in other pictures, she looks super skinny!

Lauren needs to stop wearing those skin tight jeans, and Heidi needs a more natural blonde hair color and to close her mouth. She has such a large face and head.
Lauren just has a normal, average body..but there is nothing wrong with it…she just doesn’t look like she’s really focused on what she eats or on going to the gym, but that’s also ok! lucky gal if she is happy with her body, though.
and heidi,ya heidi has this typical hollywood, try-too-hard body…I bet she often goes to bed hungry and she works out every single day…but…it pays off…except here boring fake boobs her body is great!

I personally find that weighing myself frequently is one of the only ways I can maintain my ideal weight. When I say ideal weight I mean a nice, slender weight that I can reasonably maintain w/o killing myself.
I hate weighing myself everyday but I find that if I don’t, I get more lazy and lax about my eating habits and my weight creeps up!
I am certainly not as dedicated as Heidi - genes or no, she’s working hard to keep that slim.
Haters! Don’t you hate on Heidi! She’s the only one of the two with a clothing line that’s still in production! HaHaHa

Yea, elle, it couldn’t be the fact that heidi obviously has the scrawny naturally thin build and lauren has a more naturally heavy build… that would make too much sense.
Lauren is bigger than heidi because that is her body type.
By the way skinny jeans are slimming.
