Eva Longoria: “No, I’m Just Fat.”

The latest issue of US Weekly is running a story about Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria, whose recent weight gain has been linked to baby rumors. When asked on a French talk show two weeks ago if she was pregnant, Eva replied, “No, I’m just fat.”
Eva claims to be eating everything in sight in order to prepare for her role on the show’s upcoming Season 5 (which starts next Sunday!), where her character is now a mother of two children who has “let herself go”.
Eva’s trainer Patrick Murphy says Eva has only been in to work out with him four times in the last month. She used to see him five times a week.
Here are some photos of Eva at the Emmy Awards last night. While her weight gain is pretty noticeable in her face and arms, she still is nowhere near “fat”! (IMHO).

She’s not even slightly fat! She’s just bigger than she was, which was super skinny! She looks great, better with some more curves, but still lovely and slim!

If I could be so fat…
I gained a little over 20 pounds recently and while i’m pretty disgusted about it, it was barely noticeable to most people because it went mostly to my face and belly (and I have long hair to help with the face) so today’s fashionable “loose” tops help disguise my pot-belly…maybe that’s what she’s going for? overindulgence without it “showing”?

Sorry but I don’t see much weight gain. What five pounds maybe. What is she 5′1 110 lbs now. I find it irresponsible of her to claim she is “fat now.” What a bad role model for little girls who admire her.

When she says fat she means fat for her. If she has put on weight probably 1/2 the clothes in closet no longer fit. I bet she has 50-100 pairs of jeans that she can no longer fit into.
She doesn’t even look like she has actually gained. That dress is just a terrible fit that makes her shoulders look broader and thus arms also look bigger, but if you look relative to her proportions there is no noticeable gain!

She does look bigger, but not “fat”. Her arms are a little bigger, so is her chest and shoulder areas, but her legs still look small from what I can see of them. Her hair is really terrible though, and I don’t like this dress on her.

horatio - I have to say that I agree. Though I don’t know much about her or her role on Desperate Housewives, calling herself “fat” when she’s obviously still slim is irresponsible. I’m sure many women are affected by this and realize that they have about the same bmi…and think they now need to lose weight. I’m sure she just meant it for herself, but people in the spotlight should be more careful when it comes to saying things like this.
Personally I think she gained about 5-10 lbs…and she looks good.

I think she should be a lot more careful with her wording in the future. She’s not fat at all, and saying that she is is very disrespectful to all the other women in this country who are bigger than her but are still in no way fat. I read that she said that she was a size 1 or 2 now, and in the same interview, she described herself as “fat”. I mean, what kind of message does that send to girls out there? Jesus Christ, Eva, watch what you say…
On another note, I like the dress, though the bow is a bit much. The haircut is horrid, especially for a person whose face isn’t all that magnificent to begin with… Short haircuts are reserved for girls of great beauty, like Natalie Portman or Keira Knightley. Sorry, Eva!

July-August—118–that is when she started talking about how she was trying to get fatter for the show.
Now–115. She is wearing camouflaged clothes, and seems like she does not want to gain any more.
She gained weight & she still looks like she could stand to gain a few just for asthetic & health purposes! If she wanted to look even a little like a normally slim woman, she’s not even close! She’ll have to gain a ton of weight to actually look fat! And by a ton, I mean about twice as much as she weighs now!

She will probably lose ten pounds by Christmas–but if she really has quit exercising and is still eating a lot—and gains another 10 or 12 pounds there are not many convenient places to add it–her thighs already went from skinny sticks to normal and she is thicker around the middle—I wonder how much she would need the fat suit for the show if she adds ten more pounds.
So let me get this right…She’s 5′1 and weighs 115lbs. She looks much smaller than that. In my mind that means she’s 10 pounds more than she should be, especially on that tiny frame. She really doesn’t look it.

Duh, she’s totally pregnant. Last night when she was on stage at the Emmys she almost cradled both arms under her belly. I defend a woman’s right to hide her pregnancy until she knows for sure that she’s out of the woods in terms of first trimester.

I don’t think the extra weight looks good, she looked better thinner. I could see how she would joke about being “fat” now because she is all puffed out. It doesn’t look good, whether she’s actually pregnant and hiding it, or if it IS for her role in DH. If she’s Pregnant, then of course she needs to be healthy, if it’s for her job, then she’s being a good employee.
