Fearne Cotton Photos Used On Pro-Ana Website

English TV presenter Fearne Cotton (who is very popular in the UK) was horrified to recently learn that her photos are being used on pro-ana websites.
The presenter came across photos of herself posted on a pro-anorexia site, which is created to help ‘inspire’ anorexics to stop eating, while filming a documentary.
After spotting her name and photo in the “thinspiration” section, she said: “What the hell’s my name doing there? That’s the worst thing I’ve ever seen!
To think girls would use that is horrific. I wish I could take myself off this website.”
I don’t blame her for being horrified!
On an unrelated topic, does anyone else think she is sort of channeling Nicole Richie’s look?

She looks normal to me; don’t know who she is, though. People who are liking the ana look have a skewed sence of reality and beauty. I understand the admiration for a thin beautiful person, but liking a malnourished, bony figure is very strange.

i thought that all these pro-ana teens wanted a clinically-diagnosed-malnourishment-mixed-with-rehab-patient kind of look. not just a pretty skinny girl with shiny hair and nice skin.
I think it would be horrible being on such a website.. I don’t find anorexic standards beautiful and I certainly wouldn’t want to be the cause of self harm to others.. But on another note she doesn’t look sickly to me just naturally thin

Watched the programe last night i revealed that fernes weight was 9 stone which is 126 lbs and shes 5ft 6 so i’d say she looks great nice and healthy!!!

can i just quickly point out that she’s not actually popular in the uk, she’s just on bbc all the time because bbc have no idea what people actually like. i dont know a single person who likes cotton but i know a lot who actively think she’s hella annoying.
As much as this girl irritates me, she has great hair. She is slim, but Ive never seen her looking what I would classify as skinny.

She is obviously thin, but I don’t get why they’d post pictures of someone who looks fairly normal. I’d think they’d go with someone who is emaciated like Allegra Versace. And I agree I bet she’s secretly flattered about the whole thing.

She is thin, but healthy looking. Anorexia will never make you look like this, it’ll take away all muscle and make you look like a discoloured shrunken corpse. So it’s really really lying to put her up there.

It is wonderful she brought these sites to the attention of a bunch more of the unsuspecting young kids,that she feels shouldn’t have access to them, with her documentary. Brilliant.

“Pro anorexia” is just disturbing in my opinion. It’s one thing to be supportive towards fellow people struggling with eating disorders but its another to be PRO. I mean, pro what anyways? Pro death? Pro starvation and misery? As someone who struggles with an eating disorder, I have to say, there is nothing ‘pro’ about it, and those girls are just kidding themselves by posting pictures and saying ‘this girl is my thinspo!111!!!’ because its never enough.

The question to be asking is – why was she looking at pro-ana sites?
She was probably horrified because she doesn’t think she’s thin enough to be thinspiration (hence why she was looking on pro-ana sites?)
I mean really.
I like Fearne Cotton, she seems to me to be a very pleasant, interesting and intelligent woman. She has great taste in music & a great sense of style (which is no way channeling Nicole Richies btw). Although I didn’t see her documantary, I’ve never thought her judgemental, she just has principals and opinions and a back bone unlike so many other young female celebrities out there!
I’ve read that she keeps slim due to having a very healthy vegetarian diet, and as a fellow vegetarian myself, I can totally believe that is why is is slim and therefore the picture of her on the pro ana website is totally deceitful.
I don’t know anyone who find’s her interesting or attractive. Mainly just annoying. I’m quite baffled as to how she has remained in TV/Radio.
Her ability to front a documentry on a serious subject only highlighted her lack of talent. She seemed more concerned for ‘herself’ than the subject matter.

I love Fearne Cotton.. She’s not irritating, she worked her way up from radio, to kid’s TV and does a ton of Charity work..
I saw the program and was shocked.. She looks awesome and is a good role model for girls

She is a terrible presenter, but the BBC with tax payers money always do whatever they want, they know they will always have a steady stream of income no matter what.

Her only good show was the dating show she did with her more personable best mate…she has terrible fashion taste to, tries way too hard to be different, lucky for her she is pretty.
i remember when she used to present children’s tv, and i don’t recall her being so thin. she did a program all about pro-ana, but somehow i think there’s some publicity going on

She’s a great role model. She’s not too slim but she’s healthy. I saw the docu and was quite disturbed that people can actually think the perfect body is skin with sharp bones sticking out. Its probably true when they said that most of the girls on the “thinspo” pics are dead now.

When I first saw my picture on a pro-ana site i was SO flattered, but a part of me was like.. felt like someone betrayed me obviously by passing on/saving my picture on their computers. But that must mean I am thin enough for someone to want to look like me, so it was such a rush.

the picture they used on the pro ana site was an old one of her with low cut jeans and a t-shirt on where u can see her hip bones jutting out. she also has no arse or boobs so i guess she wud be a pro ana pin up. but these photos dont really show how thin she is, since the clothes are kinda baggy.

im guessing most of you are american. in response to reply #1, she hit fame YEARS ago in the uk, and shes a lot more respectable than most of the celebrities in the media today. i think shes definitely a lot more personable than most celebs are.

pro ana sites are NOT about helping eachother starve. she should’ve done her research not help intensify the mis-information surrounding pro ana websites. she needs to get over herself, she’s not pin thin.
