Kim Kardashian: “I Have Cellulite, So What?”

Despite a post on her website that tells a slightly different tale, Kim Kardashian is determined to prove that she loves her body as it is and doesn’t care what people think. One would think given the title of the cover story in Life & Style that we’d get to see un-retouched photos of Kim’s cellulite, but alas, it was not to be. The few photos of her in the article – which you could see on her site – were taken of her from the front only.
An interview accompanied the article… here are a few highlights:
Q: Why does everyone attack your size?
A: I really don’t know. [...] People attack my true size, but the reality is that I look bigger on TV.Q: People don’t believe you’re a size 2. Why not?
A: I don’t think people get how petite I am because I’m so curvy. I’m small and curvy.Q: What are your actual measurements?
A: I’m 35-26-40. My dress size is a 4 or 2/4. I wear a size 4 skirt and size 27 jeans.Q: What have you done to treat your cellulite?
A: I had VelaShape. [...] I only did it once and didn’t see the effect. I don’t think that stuff works.Q: Just for the record, is your butt real?

A: It’s weird. There’s more to me than this. But I’m happy to have the discussion, because I work out and I still have curves. I’m happy to represent for the curvy women.
That last statement is particularly interesting… if she’s happy to ‘have the discussion’ then why did she do this article? Also, do you all think she looks the same on the supposedly “unretouched” cover as she did in these very recent bikini photos?

I think she looks great, I have a similar body and plan on rockin my hot booty at the beach this summer! I’m a short girl too, I totally believe that she is a size two, because I’m few pounds heavier than her, and I’m a size 4. It make a big difference when you’re short, how much bigger you look even if you have the same measurments as a taller girl. Not all girls need to be catwalk ready to look smokin’!
I think her body is great. Our measurements are almost identical so when people call her fat I take offense. I can only imagine how she feels when people are actually talking about her. It’s so sad that Hollywood has brainwashed everyone to think that normal woman’s body is fat.

I believe her about her hip measurement being 40, and she probably DOES look smaller in real life than in pictures, blah blah blah.
BUT a 40 inch hip is NOT a size 27 jean! I’m 5′3″ and when I wore size 27 that was with a 36 inch hip. I would say that’s pretty curvy for 5′3″ but my butt was nowhere near what hers is. And I was not squeezing into size 26.
And her “my waist is so small I have to wear 27!” is bs, too, because a 26 inch waist would more or less be a size 27…not smaller. I don’t know what she is doing to her jeans to make them stretch the extra 4-5 inches in the butt, seems to me she should be wearing a size 29ish and THEN take in the waist maybe.
I wonder why she is so insistent about the jean size issue.
I think she looks beautiful, and actually I think the first picture from her ‘recent’ bikini pictures is better than the one on the front of Life&Style!
I actually believe that she looks bigger on tv, the camera really does add pounds. You’d probably be surprised at how small she is in real life. Yes, Kim has serious curves, but they’re tight, she clearly works out. She also has a very small waist which highlights her hips and boobs making them look bigger. I am one of the few people who really likes Kim – I think she’s beautiful. I do wish she’d stop obsessing about her body though, she’s making it worse for herself by going on about it all the time. If she wants people to stop talking about her body, she should stop discussing it!!
Honestly, I believe her, especially since she finally claims to be a 4. Also, she isn’t big & chunky…now Kelly Clarkson is big and chunky. Kim K, although annoying, is a healthy sized girl with a relatively large butt.

This is bull! My measurements are 34-28-38 and I’m a size 6 most of the time… There’s no way her ass fits into a size 2 or even 4… Why lie if you accept your body the way it is? I just don’t get it….
Sizes do not mean much with many brands. Maybe she shops at Old Navy or something? Actually, she says a two, but then she states other sizes.
Shae, a 32 inch hip is narrower than runway model standards and they tend to be an industry sample size 4. So how is it you are “barely a size 2?” I have a 24 inch waist with 34 inch hip and I always wear a two (even a zero) in larger national brands (Banana Republic, etc) and in brands who do less vanity sizing, a four. In fact, I always order clothes online based only on the measurements and I haven’t seen anything over a four my entire life.
My sister met the Kardashian’s on a trip to Cali and swears they are way thinner in person. I tend to be live her bc I just saw Jessica Alba at the Revlon Run/Walk and the girl looks much tinier than in all her recent pics (super pretty by the way and she smiled all day. My sis said Kim, Kourtney and Klhoe all looked much thinner in person and were super nice. And as short as Kim is she could be a 2. When I was a 4 at 5′7″ I was much leaner than all my 5′3″ friends in size 4’s but the clothes hit them in total different spots. It’s really possible she’s a 2, especially with vanity sizing. But I doubt she’ll be a 2 in a store with Euro sizing.
She does not have the measures she mentioned in the interview. She’s big, curvaceous, big arse, big boobs. She’s attractive and sexy but her best feature remains the face! Other than that she’s just an attention seeker!

Sorry, but there’s absolutely NO way that she could be a size 2. Here hips/butt are much too big to ever get into a size two. I understand that she is short, I’m also 5′2, but just because you’re short and curvy, that doesn’t mean you’re a size two. I have 36inch hips and 25inch waist and I am a 2/4. Plus, my ass is pretty much non-existent. She’s just kidding herself if she thinks people are going to buy that she’s a size 2.
Well, I’m really starting to believe her! When she has a 27 in jeans, that means that’s between a 4 and a 6. Because she is supertiny, she looks a lot different then a tall girl who is a size 4. It is possible. Taller girls need bigger clothes because they need more fabric to cover their body, as their body is longer. Kim will need less fabric to cover the length of her body.
I think she could be a size 2/4 if everything she wears is stretchy. I am taller than her (5′6″) and before I lost weight, I also had 40′ hips, but I was a 6/8 in some kinds of pants and I usually wore a size 4 dress because my upper body is smaller. I think that different types of pants run larger and smaller, so she could be wearing jeans cut for a curvy body type and be wearing a smaller size than she would wear if the jeans were cut normally. Also, stretchy fabrics and spanx can really allow people to squeeze into pants that are a size or so too small. I don’t think people are taking into consideration that Kim likes to squeeze into very tight pants and doesn’t care really how tight they are. I’m now a size 4 and I could squeeze into size two stretchy jeans if I really wanted to, but I would look like a fool.
i don’t know how she can fit 40 inch hips into a size 2 or 4. and how she squeezes them into a size 27 jeans is almost magical.

A 40″ rear end does not fit into a size 2/4. The laws of physics would have to be violated six ways to Sunday first. She’s bodacious and stunning but no way in this world is she the size she claims.

I have seen her in person and can confirm that she is VERY petite. I almost didn’t know that it was her at first because I didn’t expect her to be so little. She is a tiny but curvy person – I totally believe her when she says she wears a 27 jean.
Totally agree with Erin. I have 35″ hips and sometimes have to go with a size 4 but am usually a 2. 5 inches is a big difference. I’m about the same height as her (5′1″) with a similar waist to hip ratio. Her dress and skirt size I believe, but not jeans. She looks good, don’t get me wrong but no matter how much spanx she wears, she’s still delusional.

Oh puhlease Kim, when i was 118 pounds i was a size 3, and my hips are WAY smaller than hers, and my butt looks normal, it isn’t big or small, and there is no way i was going to squeeze into a size 2 for nothing. and i am 5′3″. Measurements do not lie! Her hips can NOT NOT NOT fit in a 2. I definetely believe her waist is a 2. I wish they would make jeans in sizes for waists and hips, instead of just 2, 4, 6, 8. My hips are very small but my waist isn’t. So I need a 4 for my hips but an 8 for my waist. But I don’t go around saying I’m a 4 because I AM NOT!
I’ll believe her statements when, and only when, there is continuous (one shot) video footage of her being measured, and stepping on a scale that we can see is not off (ie weighing something that is definitely 10 lbs to make sure the scale says 10 lbs). coming from someone who is about a quarter to half an inch taller than her and weighs apparently five pounds more, i look NOTHING like that. she’s got at LEAST 10 lbs on me.

Sizes are screwy. I believe she is 5′2 and about 120 lbs. That seems accurate.
As for sizes…come on, we all know how different things can be. I am 5′7, 127 lbs, and wear a 2/4 dress in some cases.Sometimes a 6. With pants…..I have everything across the board from a 2 (NY and Company who take vanity sizing to extremes) to 4, 6, or a 7 or 9 in juniors.
She is clearly a size 6/8, I agree with you all. I am about her size (although a little differently proportioned) and I am a 6/8. She is maybe a 5 AT THE SMALLEST. On that note, I think her body looks fine, and I don’t think the cover looks much different from the “candid” beach photos. She is sexy and has a Marilyn-Monroe thing going on: soft, small, and curvy. Not really very toned but I think that can be sexy. She is obviously fit. Scarlett Johannsen has the same sort of softness, actually. Not fat at all but not really muscly or whatever.

We all come in different shapes. What I can fit into at a certain weight might be completely different than what YOU can fit into at the same weight/height.
Why would she lie about this? She’s short as hell. It’s much easier for a short person to fit into a smaller size than it is an average or tall person (common sense, right?).
And the truth is- photographs never show true size. Neither does film.

I’m wondering if, because of her larger measurements of her butt/hip area, if she buys a larger jean size – like a 29 or 30 – and then has a tailor adjust the waist to 27 because her waist is smaller? And then that’s how she arrives at and says she wears a 27.

Her weight isn’t the issue here, it’s the measurements and the fact that she is constantly contradicing herself. A 40″ hip is NEVER going to fit into a size 2, 4, or even a 6 jean. Actually, I believe her. I have her exact figure, but I’m 5′7. I can fit into a size 6 for most companies. So, since she’s 5 inches shorter than me, I believe that she fits into a size 2. And she says that she wears stretch jeans, which makes a HUGE difference in terms of what size you can fit into. Hell, even I can fit into size 2 stretch jeans from the Gap!
Also, Kim definitely looks like she weighs 117 lbs. She’s only 5′2. If she were thin for her height, she’d be 90 lbs and she’d wear a size 00 or less.

i have jcrew skirts that both fit, one at us4 and the other at us2…uk sizes are confusing enough but to have a store that has two sizes that fit what is a uk10 that should be a us6 arse is very confusing…it has a 37-38inch circumference (my basic point is she could be telling the truth pics do add weight)

I do believe that she works out a lot. She did not say she is on any kind of a diet. I know many people who work out and look much bigger than her. It is because work out alone is not enough for fat loss I am sorry but for weight loss people need to change their diet too.

I’m 5′7 and at 120 (or less) I’m a size 2. I’m a 0/2 but at 120 my measurements were 32-24-34, jean size 26. And she has 40 inch hips. Maybe she can wear a 4 in tops though? Who knows what she means but there’s no way she’s a size 27 jean.
You know if she had a huge belly hanging over her bikini bottoms and huge flabby arms then maybe she could be called over weight, because that’s where women hold most of their weight, around their abdomen. But her arms look toned and her stomach looks relatively flat. You can still be small and petite and have curves. Just because a girl has hips and boobs doesn’t make her fat!!! I agree Sheri but I think the issue people are having is not with her curves but her incessant need to discuss her weight and measurements. If I was her, I don’t think I would have ever even attempted to address it (think about J.Lo- at her height she never came out and issued a public statement about her measurements.)
People are built differently but- as someone already pointed out– 40″ hips are 40″ hips. Click on the “size guide” of any clothing designer’s website and see what size 40″ hips corresponds with–I guarantee you it will not correspond with a size 2.

I have come to the conclusion that US sizes must be far far more generous than UK sizes! I am 5ft 6” very toned, have a 33 / 24/ 32 and I am a size 6 and weigh in at 112lbs, theres no way on this earth she is the same size as me when her hips are 8 inches bigger!!!!

I think she looks great. So she has cellulite? Millions of women have cellulite. Sadly no amount of exercise or dieting will get rid of cellulite. Oh and no expensive creams either.
I don’t think someone with a 40 hip wears a 27 jean. I have her same waist size (26) and smaller hips (37) and granted I am at 5′9″ but I am in a 28 jean usually, even a 29 in some brands. If people are going to go on and on about how people should love all sizes, why not be honest about the real size? Yes, she is short and curvy, I don’t expect her to be a size 0 or anything but don’t lie.
HA, see, even SHE admits that she’s a size 4!! If you’re a dress size 2/4 and size 27 jeans (WHICH IS A 4!!) you are not size 2.. she probably has like one or two size two dresses.. and probably has some 6s as well in her closet!! It is believable that she’s a 4 though, in a dress at least. I’m not that small and I can fit in some size 4 dresses.
Btw though, she has to be talking about stretch jeans for that 27. I have like 37-38 hips and they fit properly in a 28.

It doesnt matter what height you are (when it comes to clothes size, not appearance, as taller people look skinnier in sizes)- 40 inch hips are 40 inch hips. And mine are a couple of inches smaller and they wont even go near a 27 waist! I am a lot taller granted, but still we have nearly the same hips nearly and 27 jeans are not designed to go round 40 inch hips. Period.
Okay, so listen up. My hips are 38″ (she says hers are 40″) and there is no way I can squeeze my a$$ into a size 2!!!!!! So why in the world, if her hips are 2 inches bigger than mine, does she expect us to believe she can wear a 2/4?
What I don’t understand is why she couldn’t at least look up a size chart to come up with a believable size lie! LOL

I’m 5′4” and just about 110 lbs. I wear size 27 jeans. I have virtually NO ASS. There is no way her ass can fit into a size 27 jean, she’s trying to “prove” something that is impossible.
According to her measurements of 35-26-40 she is ‘technically’ a size 6 bust and size 4 waist but her hips would be a good size 8. So how does one squeeze a size 8 butt into a size 2/4? Vanity sizing, stretch jeans?

2: 32.5 – 25 – 35
4: 34 – 26.5 – 36.5
6: 35.5 – 28 – 38
8: 37 – 29.5 – 39.5

My sister is a size 27 jean and the same height as Kim, but she is nowhere NEAR the measurements that Kim has said she is. My sister is WAY SMALLER. That, to me, is more than enough proof to suggest she is full of CRAP.

I am a size 6-8 Australian, that is very small and slim, that means she thinks shes around those sizes! In Australia, she would be wearing a size 12 for sure!!
I have nothing against larger girls, but I have something against large women who try to squeeze themselves into size 1, 2 clothes yet tell everyone they are ‘HAPPY’ WITH THEIR CURVES!!

not a fan of hers but i think she is lovely. Far from chunky. She is very curvy…not buying the size 2 part because of the hip measurement. And really, she wouldnt be the first person in hollywood to lie about weight, height, or anything of the sorts. She really seems ot touch a nerve with many just like Jennifer Love Hewitt.

I have a 24 inch waist and 35 inch hips and I wear a size 2, sometimes even a 4 depending on the brand!
First off- 40 inch hips wouldn’t fit into anything smaller than a size 6.
And second- I do not believe her waist is 26 inches, it must be 28 or 29!

Ha. I’ve got 35″ hips and sometimes a 2/4 won’t even make it over my hips. If you’ve got hips as big as hers there is no way you can pull those up to your waist.

Why can’t she admit to her REAL size and really stand up for curvy women? Most sizes run big these days– a typical 2 isn’t a REAL 2. Try on bridal dresses, THEY are true to size. I’m 5′1” and 98lbs. I usually fit in a 0 BUT there are some jeans that I fit in a 2. Bridal dresses I am a size 6!
