Megan Fox: “I Got Super, Super-Skinny”

Actress Megan Fox revealed in a recent tabloid article that she got her weight down to 99 pounds (about 45 kilos, or 7 stone 1 lb) for a role in the upcoming movie Jennifer’s Body. If true, this would have made her BMI 16 since she’s 5′6″!
For her upcoming part in Jennifer’s Body, sexy leading lady Megan Fox whittlled her weight down to a shocking 99 pounds – turning the 5′6″ action star into what she calls a “wispy, tiny girl.” Megan, 23, got so thin that she began experiencing serious repercussions. “I got super, super skinny,” she explains. “I got to where I was losing my eyelashes and eyebrows.”

I’m mostly wondering when this happened since we’ve all seen photos of her over the past year or so…?

Actually, normal hair falls out, anais18, and your body begins growing a unique type of hair called “lanugo” all over, in a desperate attempt to maintain body temp.
First of all why do magazines get celebrity’s heights wrong all the time?! No, Mariah Carey is not 5′9″. She’s 5′7″, and always wears platform heels to appear taller. If you notice her husband is 5′11″, and if she wore the huge heels she commonly likes to wear she would be taller than him. She not though she’s always shorter than him. Megan Fox also likes to wear large heels, but isn’t any taller than 5′5″. Mostly likely in the 5′4-5′4.5″ range according to celebheights.com. 5′6″ is absolutely out of the question. She also never weighted 99 pounds. While she’s always been very slim she’s never appeared to be emaciated, gaunt, and underweight. Obvious lies.
I haven’t a clue about her weight as I don’t follow her career, but her hair extensions are rank.
I’ve never seen this girl in anything, but she always looks a bit …. yucky!? …. in pictures here. Not classy.

I wanted to like Megan. I really did. However, I read an article profiling her in “Elle” magazine and she came off as totally trashy and egocentric. She claimed that when she weighed 99, the director of Transformers told her to gain 10lbs for her role; in her exact words: “He wants somebody substantial.” Since when is 109lbs at 5′6 “substantial”? She seems like a self-absorbed tool.
the hair is not really unique. many people are born with it and then it falls out. but yes you do lose your normal hair and start to grow that very soft peach fuzzy hair called lanugo. its a sure sign of malnurishment and eating disorders very often. although at one time i was down to 92 lbs. and im 5′6″ and i never got the lanugo, although my hair did start to thin on my head. now im at a normal of 120 so im all healthy and my head of hair is back to normal!
Megan Fox is short, Between 5′2″-5′3″. She could be much prettier if she removed the tattoos and dressed more elegantly. But that isn’t the image she’s reaching for and that isn’t her audience. I don’t recall seeing her as thin as she was saying she’d gotten, but I really wasn’t paying attention either.
She always hides her face when she is without make up, make up does change someones face.

I am 5′6 and i have a super small build and I am normally 112-115 lbs. i got the flu and I weighed 99 lbs and I looked a HELL of alot skinnier than she EVER did.
My guess? She was probably 105 and then she gained 10 lbs. for Transformers…putting her at 115.
I say this, because i am the same height and I am not that easily fooled.

All of Hollywood is severely delusional about their weight. I don’t suppose there’s some sort of magnetism in the soil there that makes their scales read 50 pounds less than it should? Now if only we could crack the mystery of the size tags!

I get a feeling that if she subtracted 10 pounds or so for this movie—the ten pounds won’t necessarily decide to land in the same places they used to be when she gains them back. She is likely to get more flab around the middle than she used to have.

I am currently 3 months pregnant, and I am 5′4 and 108 pounds. Although those shorts she is wearing look too small, and therefore are pushing her lovehandles out more than they are naturally, I would say that here she weighs at least 5 pounds heavier judging by what I look like in pictures vs. what she does. I also have the skinny-fat untoned body, I’m lazy, and naturally thin, but judging from how soft she looks, I would say prob 114.
I wouldn’t doubt she did get down to that or started into the business as that(have you seen the corset pictures) but, I do think that she might be stretching a little bit. My weight does fluctuate a TON, even up to 5 pounds depending on the time of day or if I have more activity than normal. Maybe she meant during a different part of filming? IDK. I like all her tattoos except for the marilyn monroe one. I think she should have picked a better location for that one.

I’m horrible at guessing people’s weight, since there are all different body shapes and types and height isn’t enough to go on, but 99 seems like a definite exaggeration. That is, if she’s really 5′6. She looks a tad bit shorter but who knows. She looks hot though!

I’m kind of tempted to believe her. I’m 5′6″ and at my lowest was 103 lb. I didn’t look all that thin to be honest, and certainly didn’t look emaciated. I think she’s telling the truth because if you crash diet and say get down to 99 lb, you’re not *really* 99 lb, although it’s the number on the scale, you can gain the pounds back in a couple of days.
She might be exaggerating a teensy bit, but I can easily see her at 5′5″ and weighing about 102 lb in those photos; what she’s wearing is too tight but in one of the pics you can easily see her ribs going round into her back and she’s not stretching or anything. Look, what I meant is if you have been 99 lb for 6 months, then that is your actual weight. If you’ve crashed dieted and lost 10 lb in 2 weeks, then, even though the scale says 99 lb, and you *technically* weight 99 lb, you’re not actually as skinny as somebody who is a true 99 lb, because most of the weight lost is merely water weight. You get me? But it’s still unhealthy.
I don’t know, I was only a very few lb heavier than she was claiming to be and I didn’t have bones protruding significantly unless I breathed in, and I lost the weight very quickly. This is why I kind of believe her, but she obviously didn’t “weigh” 99 lb in the way you all would mean by it.

Many celebrities augment their height by several inches and subtract their weight by however many pounds. Hollywood is an illusion, no surprise there.

Ok maybe she’s not the weight she said. But I don’t understand people coming on here basing if it’s true or not on their own heights + weights. If she really is 99lb in those pics then she is what is known as ’skinny-fat’. Obviously she’s not really fat, but it means basically you have no muscle and so most of your weight is body fat. This can make a person appear to be bigger and weigh more than they actually do.
As for her height, I have no idea how you can even guess that from a picture? It might be because she has a long torso and shorter legs that you think she looks shorter…that’s the only reason I can think of.
I think if she is 99lb then she may very well be close to 30% body fat…it’s the only way to explain why she looks ‘healthy’. Probably not even 30lb of fat on her body but when you’ve only got a ridiculously low 70lb of lean mass it looks quite flabby. She must have been starving herself for this role…sad.

Honestly, the camera adds a lot of weight. I remember an interview with Anne Hathaway (sp?) where she said that she became underweight, but looked frighteningly normal on camera! A lot of these girls have to be underweight to even look normal in the movies/in pictures, and those that look underweight on screen are emaciated.
So, I believe her. But, she’s still annoying. And..didn’t she say she essentially barely ate to lose weight for that movie? Of course she’s untoned.

Has anybody here ever dropped from say….a well toned 115 down to 100, then when you went back to 107 you discovered you had a muffin-top? Skinny girls get them, sometimes.

I agree with Amy’s comments above – she could’ve starved down to an ‘empty’ weight of 99 (anyone ever been ill/fasted and lost a good 5 pounds in a day?!) but actually still have looked more like 110. Especially if people are right and she’s 5′4 rather than 5′6, in which case 99 is about the same as 110 for someone a couple of inches taller. Plus she doesn’t look to have much muscle tone in those set pics.

shes really like 5′4 and she started shooting this movie the end of 2007. If you see the pics of her then you can tell she was deff about 100lbs. She prob just gained some pounds before the movie started.
i would believe that she got down to 45. if you’re that short & very petite & slim anyway, it certainly is true. some of my friends are around that weight & height & they have the petite look i.e. small bone structure.

Judging from the pics that were linked of her her boobs alone weigh 20 lbs. I would say if she is 5′6 she weighs about 125 lbs. Crash diets sometimes cause mostly muscle loss so that’s why you lose weight so quickly. And she does look pretty flabby in those pics compared to how she normally looks. She could have gotten close to 99lbs due to increased body fat, but still not look emaciated. I crash dieted for a month: lost 25lbs, hair got thinner (including eyebrows), got cold, and gained body fat (went from 16% to 30%). It all depends on your body type. But I think she’s saying this to get attention. And look…..it’s working.

nar if u look at those photos from jennifers body she doesnt look to be that weight! She would not be able to have a slight muffin top if she was 99 pounds, especially since she looks pretty proportioned (i.e. carries weight mostly in her stomache).
