There is absolutely NO WAY she is a size 6/8. Look at those back roles!! I bet her assistant has to remove all of the tags that say 12/14 and replace them with tags that say 6/8.

This dress emphasizes her weight gain around the middle. It looks as though Nick Cannon is trying to hoist her up on the boat with both hands.
She gained it pretty fast.
She is still beautiful and has nice curves, but she should lose a few to be her best and be healthy. I’m sure her husband loves it. They usually focus on your assets and not the negative.

However she’s making that classic mistake of still dressing her figure as she did 12-15 years ago when she was a lot smaller.
The fact that she does not go into hiding and wear frumpy clothing when she puts on weight makes me think that she is comfy with her body. This, in turn, makes me comfy with her body. She is not meant to be small but she is not so big that she cannot wear revealing clothing. Pop stars are supposed to dress like that. I would not want her any other way. You go Mariah!

In all honesty I think she looks better at a slightly higher weight, as she has a great rack and a cute face which looks better when slightly heavier!

I know she has gained, but I sort of like her being “larger” than life. She is probibly at the top weight of what she can pull off right now. Cubby but more volupuos. Many men would like her this way. Not everyone could pull off this much weight, but I think she can.
She should be careful, otherwise she will end up like kirsty alley, nice dress, for once.

She really has packed on the poundage. It is visible all over; face, torso, arms. Still, she does look happy. My guess is that she is that she has taken her eye off the ball while enjoying herself with her new hubby.
She always looks thick and meaty in my opinion. She just doesn’t have a small and delicate frame, she’d look weird skinny. She looks very youthful though for being 40.

she could lose some weight, but she is by no means fat or at an unhealthy weight. She looks about a 8/10/12 and probably 155+, the camera really make you look bigger. I’m 5′8″ and right now I’m somewhere between 150-160 ( which is thick, but I’m not fat, unless you ask my mother), and I appear slightly thinner than mariah (I have thin arms and a smaller chest, but maybe bigger thighs)and I wear a 6-8 maybe 10 at my heaviest(H&M maybe a 12) and I wear between a 28 (at 140) and 30 (at 160) in jeans. So I bet she’s a size 8-10 or 10-12 (probably bigger up top), but She was probably a 6-8 a few months back. I bet her husband likes a thicker girl, I think a lot of black and hispanic men do. I don’t know any guy regardless of race who prefers a skinny/boney girl. That’s a preoccupation of white women. That being said I hope I can get down to 125-130 this summer.
I honestly think Mariah Carey has a great voice and quite good looking, but she needs to start dressing her age. Lose the unflattering dress as well! Maybe look at a mirror before leaving the house.

She gained but I think she can pull it off. No doubt she’s probably uncomfortable but she looks happy as hell. She’s in love. Her ass is bigger and her man probably likes that. Usually I can’t stand her childish clothes but the fact that she’s a little heavier makes her wear more concealing clothes. She actually looks better in that sense.

Yes, but people’s bodies and metabolism change over time, especially when comparing late teens/early twenties to 30s and 40s. For example: Tyra Banks. She couldn’t keep weight ON as a teen.. was often mocked for how thin and ‘weird’ she looked… now she’s been in the press a lot for having too much weight on and I’m sure her body NOW likes to stay in the larger side and it’s harder for her to be ‘model thin’. I think when Mariah isn’t watching every little bite that she eats and exercising every day, her weight naturally rises to about where it is here.
She’s happy and beautiful.. I couldn’t rock that body, but she can.

I am 5′9″, 160 and wear a 30 or a 10 bottom, 8 on top, maybe a 6. Anyway, No back fat to be found. She looks like 180 if she is claiming 5′9″. Like 14 easy. His fingers have a roll over the tops from her back. Why dress like that, why? Huge print, cut out dress that shows all the bad points. Her hubby probably loves it.

She’s filled out quite a bit but she kind of pulls it off being so curvy it mostly goes to her boobs and hips. Remember she is almost 40 and you can’t have the body you had at 20 forever.

I say……….. Be whatever size you want to be as long as your healthy about it. Just don’t lie. OWN IT! If you are a size 12 fine, but don’t claim to be a 6. And furthermore dress size appropriate. I have seen women size 6,8,10,12 and so on look amazing because they dress accordingly. Mariah has definitely gained. She should change her wardrobe to suit her new size. She has a great face but you can’t see it past those rolls on her back.
She’s heavier, but she looks good and healthy. For a woman around 40 her body is pretty good. She should definitely watch that she doesn’t gain more.

Yeah, it is weird that she looks ‘big boned’ now and she wasn’t in the early ’90s, as someone said. I think that when she gains, she gains a bit all over and puts on muscle with the fat, so it isn’t that ‘rolly’ and gives the illusion of her being ‘big boned’.
For some reason, most of the people on here are very nice about Mariah’s weight gain, whereas they tore Kelly Clarkson to shreds. Is it because Kelly’s a lot younger?

@ Mkay735 – I suppose you’re right. I didn’t realize she was only 20 when she first hit the charts. And believe me, I can completely relate to things slowing down once you get older. I’m almost 33 and I swear that after 30, it became much harder to lose weight or stay “thin”.
As for Mariah, still I find it strange that she looks like a “big boned woman” here but that’s clearly not her bone structure.

It’s for a movie, isn’t it? I think she looks okay, I highly doubt her husband minds the extra weight. People find it so hard to accept that other people’s builds are different and gain weight in different ways… She has nice skin and a pretty face, so she is attractive nonetheless.
