Pop legend Michael Jackson has died from cardiac arrest following a heart attack this afternoon in California.

What a very strange day, first Farrah- though her death was expected, which doesn’t make it any less sad. She was lovely. Then out of the blue, Michael Jackson, what a very strange day. I hope their families are getting the support they need, and that the paparazzi is being respectful.
This is really sad. I was just listening to the news. I made dinner for my son. I hoped to hear more about his hospitalization and they were talking about his death. My thoughts and prayers are with his family, especially his children.

I can’t believe it. This is a huge shock, it’s as big as Elvis dying. I thought Michael Jackson would live forever. When I was a kid we would record his tv appearances onto VHS and play them over and over to watch his awesome dance moves. We would have to rewind to the moonwalking parts over and over. All of his 80’s videos were so cool and very innovative.
Such a terrific talented singer. a legend.
today the world got a little worse.
i grew up listening to him, my mother loved the Jackson Five and i love him. i always believe he was inocent and this is just sad and shocking.

He was a complex soul … so talented and loved from generation to generation , I truly hope he rests in peace , mes condoléances a sa famille , ses enfants et ses proches. He has left us an amazing legacy and music that will live on forever!

I do not know him personally or anything, but I feel like I just lost someone dear to my heart. My condolences go to his family, kids and friends. The man revolutionized pop music and a lot of pop artists from Justin Tims to Boy Bands like Backstreet Boys all drew influences from this Legend. Gone but Never Forgotten. Rest in Peace MJ.

It’s so surreal. I really didn’t see this coming. I love his music and have always felt sorry for him. His extreme popularity was before my time, but I’m still a huge fan. I think he was a sweet soul who was a classic example of a victim of fame. He was just not stable enough to handle the whole world watching his every move. I hope his family is coping as well as can be expected. God bless him and every one involved.
I honestly didn’t believe this when I first heard it. I have cried numerous times within the past couple hours. I’m only 17 and he has had and impact on me and I fell in love with his music and stage show the first times I ever saw or heard him. He will be greatly missed forever.

Pretty darned shocking and out of the blue to say the least. Death is (almost) always sad. But I have mixed feelings about this guy, because if he did in fact molest all of those children, then good riddance. As a parent, there is nothing worse than a person that would hurt a child. The man was talented once upon a time though… “Never Can Say Goodbye” by the Jackson 5 is one of my favorite songs.
Umm, to those of you saying talking negatively about the dead is worse than wearing white after labor day and all, how were you talking about him while alive? It probably hurt his feelings a lot more then that it is now..Just sayin’. Besides, being dead doesn’t automatically make you a good person.

I saw Michael Jackson once at a convention in LA at Dodger Stadium. He used to be a Jehovahs Witness. I wonder what religion he was before he passed. There is no doubt he was super talented and also super troubled. I think he had issues with who he was and thats why he had so much plastic surgery. I still don’t know if the molestation charges are true or not. Either way God loves and forgives. This is a sad day.

emmie- i in no way think he was stable. that is obvious. i always saw him as a sad, lost little boy who was pushed into being a money making machine (and a very talented one at that) since he was like 5 or something? what kind of childhood is that? i believe he grew up not knowing who he was or who his friends were (the real ones) and missing out on so many experiences which are VITAL for a childs ‘normal’ development. i always believed he was severely unstable and vulnerable and i never ever believd the child molestation rumours. thats all they were. clever rumours. to get a person who is clearly vulnerable and an ‘obvious’ choice and bleed him dry from any kind or respect and most importantly MONEY. Dont ppl get it? money is a BIG motivator for ppl to pull out sh!t and ‘frame’ others. I always believed he was innocent and i feel he was trying to ‘recapture’ his childhood in order to gain some ‘happiness’ and sense of self. i never believed he did anything to children and i believe he went over board with protecting his children because he grew up with a biased life and realisation that the world id an evil place with many sharks thst really dont give a hoot about anyone else.
all the ‘facts’ for these accusations were always suss to me. now i in no way will ever make excuses for any kind of child abuse. i am always jumping on the bandwagon to catch pedophiles and i will never ever stand up for ppl like george michael, boy george, and R kelly. I HATE child abusers…but i have always believed MJ was framed and that that was just a ‘clever’ and manipulative money making scheme for some parents that knew how to ‘work the system’ and the media

hell on high heels- being accused (esp. by the media) doesnt make you a bad person either. i dont believe those accusations and i never will. and just because i say that now doesnt mean i ever spoke differently when he was alive- i always said he was a troubled soul, with issues. who wouldnt be being a money making machine since the age of 5? but i always believed he had a good (tho admittedly messed up) heart and that he was taken for a very convincing ride by some very manipulative parents.
No matter what you think, it’s not your job as a person to persecute someone. If you need to say negative things to stand out, that’s pathetic.

I personally think Michael’s death is tragic simply because he has such young children. His music was one of a kind and revolutionary. But I could never get past my suspicions of his character after he went to court, made his children wear masks and dangled his baby from a balcony.
It does seem now that celebrities and the general public are idolising and praising him, something that was rarely done when he was alive.
I am completely in shock …

I was truly sad about this news. When I first saw the clip Thriller … it was out of this planet… I think he was a tormented soul with all the attention as a little child and other issues that we all know about. Nevertheless, a true icon that will never be forgotten.
I don’t think Michael was ever allowed to be a child, and I believe this is why he chose to live in such fairy tale surroundings. Pushy parents and immediate stardom do not leave much of a genuine boyhood to mold you into the adult the world expects you to be.
His music – unforgettable, his feet – magical, his smile – real, his life – misunderstood, his passing -much too soon.

Michael Jackson is proof that a human mentally can’t cope with being THAT much of an icon and having that much fame. He lost his grip on reality and it’s so sad.
Fame comes with a price.. and it was a hard price to pay.

as much as i think it’s uncalled for to bring any hatred to a person that just passed away, it’s stupid to pretend to adore someone just to make yourself look like an compationed saint – that’s what it is if you’re being “so sad” when you never liked the person when they were alive.
anyhow i believe most people in this site really did/do look up to Michael, he had lots of fans and even more of those who just respected his talent if not calling themselves a fan.
it’s hard to say anything that could sum up the feelings of a crushing loss, but those “it’s a sad day, that’s so sad”etc.. comments really just seem very pretentious to me (as in awwww, too bad, that’s SO TOTALLY sad, lacking emotion) but hopefully most just didn’t know what to say and so they said what everyone knew to affirm that they too feel it “a sad day”
R.I.P. Michael honey, i always loved his playful and fragile soul, incredible uniqueness as an artist and the thrilling combination of peace, innocence, cockyness and fear that he had. Love to his family.
I grieve for his family in their loss… but it’s amazing to me that the world empathizes with a child-molester. It seems like being a celebrity is a trump card for all sorts of evil. (MJ, Polansky, R Kelly…)
We need to remember him for what we know to be a fact and that was that he had a talent like no other; we do not need to dwell on the negative aspects of his life that we do not know for a fact. He and God will work that out.

Good point, Creepy Doll. I think of how Princess Diana will remain young and beautiful forever. M.J.’s face was starting to fall off– maybe this was a blessing for him (but not his family) and he is now resting in peace. He lived in such fear of getting old, it must’ve been torment for him.

pfff… I’m tired of all these news about Michael Jackson. I’m not fan and will never be. I thought I won’t find this kind of information here. I was wrong. Yes, it is sad and we all wish him to rest in peace but I’m sad because people don’t talk about Farrah Fawcett’s death who fights cancer until the end with bravery, she deserves some hommage TOO!
I think this man was brillant and we’ve lost an amazing not only performer but person as well. Even though he was speculated of doing many terrible things, i feel as though peole were hard on him. How would you act if your life was a frenzied circus? I just feel bad that he had to die after such ridicule for years. He will definatly be missed<3

It is a fact that, as a 40 year old man, he felt it was fine to sleep naked with little boys. Said it so himself. To me, that’s just wrong. I’m not going to dwell on it (heaven forbid!) but I’m not going to forget it. I’ll also remember him as an incredibly talented musician who brought joy to alot of people with his music.

Yes it’s a little upsetting he died young and maybe was trying a comeback, but come on. Maybe I’m too young to realize his impact from earlier on in life, but I do know how he pretty much ended it, and he was not a man of good health, mentally or physically. It was just his time, but I don’t get why everyone can be so freaking devastated.
Farrah Fawcett passing away in my mind was a lot more sad and just inspirational in the fact that she fought and lived. She will be the one I am missing.
