Her body is shaped really weird. Little-ish appearing waist, then a really wide and sharp hip. The outfits she picks only accentuates this and not in a good way. I just do not get this girl’s appeal.

Her costumes look like they’ve definitely been influenced by Lady Gaga’s getups. She looks great though–so beautiful and a great shape!
I would imagine that the outfits she wears onstage look great from a distance (as they are probably meant to) and go well with the overall “show” They aren’t meant to be clothes per se, but costumes

I hate when beautiful African American people whitewash their look. It’s sad and a poor reflection on where our society is if a gorgeous dark skinned person has to change his/her face to appeal to a wider audience.

The padded hips are maybe a nod to her natural figure, which is hippy. Maybe she gets tired of comments about her ample lower half and decided to get in our faces a bit? Regardless, I admire her lovely face and her untiring work ethic!

She always wears something underneath her suits that’s why she looks like that. Also every time she performs you see her with stocking on. I’ve never seen her perform without these things

So what? Who DOESN’T wear ridiculous outfits on stage? She’s talented, beautiful (not just cute), a great performer and not once did she stumble out of a bar sh*tfaced. I definitely get her appeal.
Her mother is probably still designing her outfits like she did back in her Destiny’s Child days. Those were some real winners too.
Not flattering at all!! I was never a fan of Beyonce. I think she always wears horrible outfits that do not look good on her figure. She always tries to show off her body, but she has no reason to.
I have never really liked her figure but she looks somehow slimmer here, her arms look really toned and her skin is flawless.
Beyonce’s never had breast implants. Her boobs have always looked like this. It’s just the costume that lifts and separates like that.
For those who are wondering: She is wearing padded hips, it’s part of her costume and, I agree, her stage outfits are awful!
Uh, entertainers have long, long worn costumes on stage. What is the big deal? They are meant to be visual, not just pretty or sexy.
she’ def lost weight! she is just a smaller version of herself! lol. i think the boobs are just extra padded and pushed up. i experimented with this once and seriously got mine looking the size of pams lol! and i was just padding and pushing up! btw – i didnt go out looking like that! i was just experimenting at home in my bikini cuz i wondered how they sometimes make otherwise flat models look like they have big tits!
I dont like the stockings she wears- it makes her legs look like prosthetics (no offence to anyone who has them), or like legs on a rag doll.
i dont like the stockings. she should lose them. because i think the lack of shape in her legs (even tho they ares strong and ‘toned’ they arent shapely like Brits for example), in combo with the stockings makes her legs look bigger than they are. just lose the stockings! use tan and stuff instead!
I agree with MEL, she does try to show off her body. She has terrible legs and fat knees. I think her face is pretty sometimes, but sometimes TRANNY. She has lost weight, but those legs are TREE TRUNKS!!

I think she’s pretty and as for her costumes, at least the one pictured anyway, I LOVE that their purpose is to exaggerate the hips. I would never wear it but it’s a nod to old time beauty as well as a middle finger to our current ideals of prepubescent hips. And I think she looks beautiful
this outfit just doesn’t do anything to her body but only showing her problem zones. she just needs to stop wearing gold outfits and especially light colors of stokings. gold makes her look bigger.

In some cultures and ethnic groups the zones she emphasizes are not looked upon as “problematic”. And my guess is that you won’t be hearing any complaints from straight men either. To me too she looks like the epithomy of femininity.
All of the costumes in Beyonce’s show are designed by Thierry Mugler. He was big in fashion in the 1990’s but lately has been more well known for his couture collections and perfumes – Angel, Alien et al. Mugler directed George Michael’s “Too Funky” music video in which the motorcycle bustier that Beyonce has been seen in also appeared. I believe he is the creative advisor for her concerts too. The whole hip emphasis is a design thing for Mugler. I think he designed something like 60 costumes for the show. Hope this answers some of the “What up with the wardrobe” queries!

yea, the outfit is a bit weird, but, as someone else mentioned, it may be one of those things that looks good on stage (from a distance) but not so great close up. Padded hips? haha, and I thought shoulder pads were bad. lol.

I think she’s extremely vulgar and a terrible role model to young black girls. Should they really aspire to have long straight blonde hair? My friend thought she should because of her and wasted so much time and money trying to achieve this when she looked great just the way she was.
She’s totally sexy; she has like a 1950s body, really curvy, small waist, large hips. I agree w/ poster who said prob. no complaints from straight men. She’s got a beautiful face, she just isn’t stick thin. Her outfits are just that, stage outfits, don’t like em.
This woman always look’s far better when those thighs and knees are covered.

She looks fit and healthy, IMO! Very pretty face and strong looking. If she just slightly slimmed down in the legs / hips she would be even better looking. As per the outfit. I don’t know, really unless someone has a pretty small frame (as opposed to her wide hip bones) a cinched waist just makes the hips stick out more. If her hips and waist were in the normal proportion it would be more flattering, IMO.
totally envy the body – to me, she has the perfect Hollywood body. Strange costumes, but frankly I think this woman can rock most anything.
That said, the boobs look silly. They aren’t supposed to hit you in the face when you look down. I think it must have been difficult to get – and keep – them in that unnatural looking position.
I like Beyonce although why she is emphasizing her hips even more is beyond me. But then, it’s a stage costume and as long as she doesn’t wear her mother’s hideously designed clothes too often I think she looks fab.

The costumes she’s been favoring lately, with the very sharp hips, are actually padded and structured to look that way – that’s not her real hip line you’re seeing there. She’s going for a very haute couture silhouette here, and that doesn’t necessarily translate well on a curvier body. I think she looks fab, though.

So many people are complaining about the stockings she’s wearing, but I think those are the least of her costume problems. She needs to get rid of whatever she’s wearing that makes her hips look like that. It’s just plain awful. Clearly she’s trying to make her waist look smaller and herself more curvy but it just looks ridiculous.
She is very beautiful, both in face and body, but IDK, there’s always something off about the way she looks…if I had to choose a word, it would have to be “frumpy”.

She is a very beautiful woman, and her costumes don’t bother me. I think she is accentuating her curviness with the hip pads instead of trying to disguise it. IF I were her, I would lose a few, because the legs would bother me. But she obviously appeals to a whole lot of people, because she is very successful!

She’s lovely and all, but her costumes are reminiscent of the costumes I wore back in the 1980s that my Fran Drescher from the Nanny-esque character of a mother made for me for pageantry. Including the bow…(only mine were usually green). And that was the 1980s: gaudy, and life scarring. Don’t even get me started on my dance outfits.
In a few years she’ll be like me and hyperventilate at the sight of glitter glue and bedazzlers.

Relatively speaking, when you compare her to Miranda or Alessandra, there’s obviously more meat on her bones, but c’mon, give me a break! Very pretty face. Don’t think her legs are too fat here, she does gain in her legs a lot but she looks thin for her right now. I agree with someone else that said I much perfer her body to Lindsay Lohan and so do most guys I know…. If you took away Lindsay’s boobs and face you wouldn’t know if it was a boy or girl and that is never attractive!

I have prosthetic legs and not only are they quite painful but people seem to make fun of me wherever I go. It’s not like I put them on backwards or anything, they just don’t look good I guess. And I can’t walk very far without one of them coming loose (swimming is worse). It’s just really hard, and now reading this here… the comments about prosthetic legs… after finally having the guts to admit my age and all well, honestly, I don’t know if I can go on… and on teasing you this way,silly samba, but I just couldn’t resist– your posts are priceless!(:o)

her costumes for this tour are designed by thierry mugler, who is known for his over the top 80s style designs. i guess they must look good from afar when she’s perforiming.
i don’t think it’s fair to call her fat, she’s very fit as she’s a dancer. she’s just got a strong, sturdy framed body which happens to suit her perfectly.
