Im sorry but she looks terrible from the side views, she has what appears to be like lots of skin, the kind of skin you see when someone has a huge weight loss. she has a beautiful face, and her legs look fine, its just the side, where the breast meets the chest

Sometimes models are supposed to have a very serious face so I don’t think it’s necessarily cuz she doesn’t feel secure in the dress.
She is beautiful but not runway material. I am used to seeing very skinny girls on the runway so she looks old and large! Yikes, I’m the same age as her!
Overall she looks ok, but the wrinkly skin on the sideboob looks bad – she doesn’t pull off the dress.

I’ll be honest here – I hardly recognized her without her smile! That is one of the things I have always loved about Jessica – her smile and exuberant personality. I think a smile is one of the most attractive things on a person and adds to your beauty 110 percent!

She definitely looks soft. I have a feeling her diet probably has a lot to do with it, and not exercising enough would just make the problem worse. I bet she eats a lot of processed foods.

You know…I don’t think she looks THAT bad! I’m no Simpson fan either I thought she looked awful when her “fat” pictures came out, but honestly I think she looks nice here, sure she’s not skinny, not even thin, but I don’t know that’s kind of what I would expect you know? She isn’t skinny! She’s deffinately not model skinny. With that in mind I think she looks really good. She’s a heavy girl it is what it is.
Also ment to add on top of that, she’s super short. I;ve heard somewhere from 5′1″ to 5′2″. I mean when you’re heavy and short with large breasts it’s hard to pull off a model look.

It was a very careful selection to help the situation… Black dress to hide the weight, not much skin exposed, and the only person she stands next to (if you look at other sites photo’s of her at this same event) is an overweight lady. No pictures of her standing next to models..
Very carefully done. I disagree with the comments on her face, she lost her pretty face when she gained the weight. She has a lot of weight on her face and she no longer has a pretty face in my opinion. Look at any of her older photos. Her problem is that she carries her excess weight in all of the wrong places and does not look good with the extra poundage.

Jessica’s way too meaty to be walking down the runway in that dress. The rolls of flesh spilling out the sides and back of the dress are not attractive. She’s pretty enough but needs to wear outfits that flatter her current figure, rather than squeezing into things she would’ve looked good in when she was more svelte.

just for your information jess was walking the runway for her show the price of beauty where she is finding out what people find beautiful around the world. the high fashion look is popular in france and she was just seeing how it is. unfortunately, this is high fashion folks. just ridiculous. if anything i applaud ms.simpson for wearing a clearly hideous dress and hairdo.
anyways, i would rather see this than a pair of bones down the runway. bones and skin are just not feminine, healthy, nor attractive. i bet if this was an anorexic chick in this dress everyone would be like oh shes so pretty…..

I have a refreshing idea: When we see a fellow sister who’s not looking her best, why don’t we build her up instead of tearing her down? Jessica Simpson is a beautiful woman. And she’s a real woman, which means she’s not perfect. Is anyone on this board perfect? I bet most people here have some body parts that they’d prefer not to show in public or that maybe aren’t quite as toned as they could be. But who cares? How many of you have gotten up on a catwalk and worn a designer dress? Probably not many. Personally, I find it refreshing to see something other than a sickly looking teenager on a runway. It’s real women who buy most of the clothes anyway, not 15 year old Brazilian girls. I say, Viva Jessica! You keep on looking beautiful and feeling confident. No one on this board has lived half the life that you have so far.

It’s not that it looks THAT bad, but when models like Ali Michael are “too big” for the runway, our perceptions are just a little skewed. That said, I think that dress would just be really hard to pull off for a short person. Jessica’s only about 5′3″. I think there must be something in the designer’s collection more flattering than that. Whoever picked the dress must have some sort of vendetta.

There are two reasons why she doesn’t work on the runway. One has to do with the fact that she’s short, she looks like she’s drowning in that dress, even with the huge heels. The second has to do with her saggy skin.

Odd looking dress. She’s still prettier than her sister.
Obviously, she got this gig because she is a celebrity, not a fashion model. We can all see that. I give her props for going through with it, and actually, I think her hair/makeup look quite good and that, had the dress been made to fit HER body, it is a style that she can wear. I think her unhappy, vacant look is her idea of trying to imitate runway models and magazine ads of haute couture.
Bad idea? Yes. I have a strange feeling someone out there that landed here this “promotional opportunity” is laughing their ass off. I mean, it is pretty wickedly funny to see her trying to be a high fashion model.

don’t know if this has been said, (too many comments to read them all!) but her almost constant yoyo dieting is finally starting to take it’s toll on her skin. she couldn’t go on fluctuating in weight by significant amounts without seeing the damage for much longer. i’d say that thirty pounds, at most, is what she has lost (dukes of hazzard) and gained (the past two years) and a body can only take so much and skin can only be resilient to a certain extent before it is ruined for life. since she has been open to plastic surgery in the past (lips, chin, etc.), i wonder if she would go under the knife to deal with the sagging skin?
also, her arms look like my moms and she is almost sixty and doesn’t do any sort of toning. Considering jessica’s age and the fact that she exercises, this is really sad.
This dress is far to ornamental for a woman of her height and the colour doesn’t work on her either. All in all a poor choice and a missed opportunity, because the past has shown that Simpson can look lovely in the right attire.

She needs a stylist – not her Mom or some fashion designer that wants to use her…. a stylist who knows how to “present” someone in their most favourable light. I am usually the type of woman to applaud women of all shapes and sizes and encourage other women to support each other. I think Jessica Simpson is an exception because she became famous by selling her body. Her looks were her main talent. Now that her body is not perfect she wants to remain famous by pushing this “body acceptance” agenda. It is hypocritical of her.

Aw, I love Jessica and I admire her courage! She is mending a broken heart and trying to get out there. The way they did her hair and makeup is completely unflattering, a look that only 80lb runway waifs can pull off. Who wouldn’t look bad without any color on their face, 6in high hair, flourescent lighting, and no smile? She is a beautiful woman and the dress/makeup/hair they picked for her do not do her justice.

All the comments about “she’s too short, she’s too fat for runway” completely miss the mark. OBVIOUSLY she’s not modeling or doing runway work. It’s for her show, and to generate publicity for a designer NO ONE has heard of. It doesn’t even look like a real fashion show.
Having said that, I’m shocked by the poor skin tone displayed here. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a person so young with such bad skin elasticity. No idea how that happens. I know a LOT of yo-yo dieters, worse than Jess, who don’t look like this. Women in their 40s with three pregnancies behind them don’t look like this!

Looking at these pictures, my first reaction is to feel sorry for her: it’s as if she lost a bet. Of course, she merely let someone stupid make a very bad decision for her, in the interests of developing a new image for her. But I think Noel has hit the nail on the head: this girl is marginally talented as a singer and is even less so as an actress; her career has been built on her looks. Now that those are failing her, her attempt to be some kind of crusader for “fat acceptance” (or whatever you want to call it) appears to be half-hearted and is not working. But could anyone in hollywood succeed at that? highly doubtful.

no,”hmmm”, the saggy side boob is not due to implants. it’s due to her fluctuation in weight, which can increase and decrease your entire bust area, even the sides. hence her double d’s not being full any longer, as well. believe me i’ve been through the same type of thing, and i would give anything for a lift to my bust, and i’m only 24.
The dress is way too tight, she looks uncomfortable and angry.

i blame the designer. first of all, that dress DOES NOT FIT HER RIGHT. if it were fitting her properly, it would not be crushing her breasts (and thus causing wrinkly side boob action) and it wouldn’t be so tight in the back that her “back fat” (aka flesh) wouldn’t be squeezed. she looks great when she wears clothes that flatter her figure and fit her properly. guess that lumps her in with the general population. only superskinny body types look good in “anything”, and personally, i don’t think superskinny looks good at all.
models go through several fittings before a show. it’s the designer’s team’s responsibility to make sure models (guest models or professional) look great in their designs. ugh. leave this healthy-sized woman alone.
Seems like all her ex-relationships have sucked the life out of her. She used to be so confident and enthusiastic. Now most of the pictures I see of her recently show an insecure perhaps depressed person. I don’t see a lot of fat on her face. I think it must be age that makes her face less attractive. Although losing weight would probably improve her appearance. Breasts are saggy on the sides. She doesn’t look glamourous at all.
Her armpit is gross and so is the dress. And she looks miserable. I don’t think she’s too fat though, it just isn’t at all a flattering look.

Her arms are fine. Atleast they arent toothpicks like most of Hollywood. They prob taped her bobs up cause she cant wear a bra with the dress and it created that extra skin on the side. Am I the only one when taking a good hard look at this pic see a woman that the designers have bound her boobs?? Take a real good look at the side. It is tape people from underneath her arm pit to the boob. Jessica if you go back & look & recently has prided herself on the perky sit up boobs. In this dress the designer did not want that so she was bound & they were flattened. Take a look if you have to & blow the pic u but yoy can see starting at the boos itself there is like a gauze material so when teh atpe is pulled off she will not get pain on the actual boob. Under the arm yes.

I do not like the dress is does nothing for her at all. This is part of her reality series being shot right now. In France this is considered beautiful & that is all that Jessica is doing is showing what people of FRance & high fashion is beautiful. I am sure her next place of adventure will show us some thing else. So far she has been to Japan & Thailand & what is considered beautiful for them.
Just give it a chance & consider the countries & gain a better understanding of beauty in foreign countries.
Those are boobs in the side view. Real boobs that are big and are smushed down will do that. I think people are to used to seeing fake boobs that they don’t know when they see real ones that move and flop around. lol

I do think the folks in charge of this should have stepped up and forced a more flattering choice for her. But, who knows, maybe someone tried and maybe Jess just loved the dress???
However, despite the less-than-ideal dress choice, I say she nets out looking FAR MORE HEALTHY, MORE “REAL” and CERTAINLY MORE INTERESTING than the skin and bone stick figures (that usually look like 14-year old boys in wigs) that we have grown accustomed to seeing on the runway. I would say there isn’t ANYTHING beautiful about them.
And, since it is mostly women on here picking this girl apart, I’d challenge you to show any man in your life these pics of Jess versus one of those skin and bone robot models wearing an equally bizarre outfit… I’d be willing to bet 9 out of 10 would pick Jess in a heartbeat.

She has an average womans figure. The dress is bad and she is very untoned, in her arms and back. The dress is horrible and so unflattering to her figure. Other than I think Jessica is pretty dumb when she speaks, I like her as she has a normal figure.

I think this dress is very bad for her body type. Yes I think that it would look good on a super skinny typical looking runway model but I wouldn’t go as far as to say she has no business being on the runway. That’s just silly. She definitely is not selling the clothing. Most models do have a serious expression on their face and some of the outfits they wear are ridiculous looking, BUT somehow for the most part they do pull off the looks…
This dress is very unflattering. Her hair looks awful. She needs a bra on or something done with her boobs. They are just hanging there flat. The lighting looks very unforgiving here. Got to give her some credit though. It takes a lot of guts to walk a runway.

Oh my, that is just plain bad. Bad face, bad body and while I like the dress itself, just a plain bad dress to be be putting on her.
I guess my biggest problem with her and overweight celebrities is that they can afford to have healthy, good tasting meals made or delivered to them. They can pay for a trainer 7 days a week. They can hire an assistant who tells them not to eat that extra cookie. The rest of us normal people have to be responsible, eat healthy, and exercise all on our own. I wouldn’t have a problem with Jessica Simpson had she not made her name by being a dumb blonde sex symbol. Everytime she gets in a relationship as with John Mayer and Tony Romo, she balloons up (and not a healthy weight but fat!). According to most of the gossip websites, she has a little alcohol problem. High alcohol consumption would definitely contribute to her weight gain, fading looks, and poor skin quality. If she gets so upset reading press about how fat she is, maybe she should consider a career change and stop trying to be in the spotlight of media attention. Also, if she is such a nice girl, why would she leave her first husband (who obviously loved her and put up with her stupidity) because she thought she could do better bc her star was rising. Unfortunately for her, her star was rising bc of her relationship with Lachey. After her separation, her career has taken a nose dive!

The reason designers use very tall thin models is that average women do not look good in the clothes – the vast majority of designers are gay – girls they do not actually like women’s bodies – and we buy into this self-hatred.

Those websites make their money by spinning lies and gullible consumers like you eat it all up. And apparently anyone who drinks mores than 3 times a year has a drinking problem anyway. As for her marriage to Nick Lachey, its nice to know that you know exactly what happened with their relationship. Although they lived in the public eye, I’m guessing they wouldn’t share the real reasons for their split… so its all speculation from the media which again is believed by the public. And if you think that she’s the only woman who stacks on the weight once comfortable in a relationship, look around you…. it happens to more people than you may realise.
On a lighter note, I think she’s looked better but good on her for being closer to normal than most celebs. IMO she looks nervous as hell and who wouldn’t after being shredded by the public for her weight. IMO nobody can deny that regardless of her weight she always has killer legs!!

I think she is really beautiful but that dress really does nothing for her at all. It doesn’t fit her properly and it puts a lot of areas on display that should not be on display if ya know what I mean. Whoever thought she should be wearing this dress on a catwalk is stupid and should be sacked. Why would you give a girl with huge natural boobs a dress with no support that is ruffled in the chest area and then ask her to walk down a catwalk and get photographed. It’s a recipe for her to get ridiculed and I feel sorry for her because she is truly beautiful and just needs to wear clothes that flatter and fit her. I don’t think she needs to lose weight at all, but I don’t think she needs to gain any either.

As for my previous comment there (boob lift), I know, I speak from experience. I am a yo-yo myself and over the years “the twins” started to sag and lose fullness. Got a boob lift & a reduction, looks like a pair of normal boobs now.
