I think that Rachel looks really gorgeous here. The outfit is lovely…it works for her. It wouldn’t work on someone else perhaps…but it does for Rachel. She is a great role model & she may be a tiny bit smaller than she perceives herself to be.
In any case, she is not “skeletally” pin thin. She is very slim/trim & @ aoife…I agree, she does have a classic beauty to herself like Kate Winslet. Love seeing her on this site. We need more positive & HEALTHLY females like Rachel Weisz !!

Rachel Weisz is a class act on and off screen – she’s a mother with a fit body and healthy curves. Just look at her hair! Hair like that is an indication of overall health…if your hair looks like crap, that’s a sure sign of something going on healthwise. She is fabulous. I love how she’s pale, too – her skin looks very youthful and she has a real porcelain complexion…you can tell she hasn’t sat out baking in the sun. Funny how she’s almost 40 yrs. old and looks younger than Lindsey Lohan/Leather Bag does at 23 yrs. old!! LOL
she’s talented and has a pretty face, so there’s no need for her to be a stick. can’t say the same about a lot of the teenie meenies in hollywood. they’ve got to get attention somehow (ahem, tori spelling.)

Skinny girls have boy’s bodies? What a horrible and stupid way to adress body image issues. Beauty comes in many forms and we all have our own beauty standards and ideals, and that, doesn’t give her the right to talk shit about what she doesn’t consider beautiful, she’s a public figure, she has to be careful!
I fail to see how she’s criticizing thin women or why this is a hideous quote: Barbie, do you know that one can work out regularly, eat the healthiest of foods, and still have a bit of a belly? This happens to a lot of women, especially after a certain age.
Anyway, Rachael is an incredibly beautiful woman, a good actress, and I know a lot of men who are completely gaga over her. I for one have always thought she has a lovely body, and she’s a model for Burberry, I believe. The outfit here is fine, but I don’t like the hair or makeup.

I like shes honest about it. She’s not trying to fool anybody by saying she isn’t tempted to look super skinny like so many other celebrities. And I think she looks amazing, its obvious she works hard for her healthy, toned body.

She was talking about the people who starve themselves just to be a certain size-super skinny.(She mentioned Hollywood pressure & the girls who WANT to be super-skinny) The people who do starve all the curves off their body must not be proud of their butts, hips & breasts.

I don’t think she was being critical of “boy body” types. And I bet the pressure to be uber skinny can be more intense in Hollywood for some people.
I have no idea why her quote is hideous or why it offends so many but I think she’s spot on.

I like her quote. We should embrace the bodies we have and work from there. It’s crazy when people want to achieve one specific standard of “thin”, “healthy”, or whatever. We are all shaped differently. Some of us with wider hips and perhaps wider bone structure will probably never COMFORTABLY be lower than a size 4. Some are the opposite. They will never be curvy or hourglass like. You have to work with what you have and go from there I think.
I fail to see anything wrong with her comment. No where did she say that skinny women had boy’s bodies, she said the did not have a boy’s body. She was saying she didn’t have the body type to be super thin. Good grief.
Back to the topic. She looks great. I absolutely love the jacket. I like the dress has well.

I actually saw her in a play a couple of weeks back and when she isn’t wearing loose clothing she is looking very very thin, painfully so, she has “madonna” arms, it was a little frightening. Everyone else who went agreed with me. She is just hiding it well in these photos but you can see from her legs she is becoming very thin

Her comment is wrong because it’s implying that skinny girls (naturally or starved)have “boys bodies” and that in order to look womanly one should have curves. It’s more stupid and lame than offensive actually, after saying she feels ugly when compared to skinnier woman. It’s a cliche comment if anything “Oh I think I’m fat and uglier than skinnier women, but it’s OK, I have curves so let’s just say I look like a women and I’ll come off very sincere”

It seems so redundant that anytime anyone makes a comment about very thin celebrities having ‘boy bodies’, people get offended. She wasn’t saying it as an insult. It is the ‘norm’ in hollywood and more often than not, something these women strive to attain. It’s not like she’s a chub. She’s pretty thin to begin with. Just because someone is stick thin doesn’t make them ugly but it is easy to relate that type of figure to a ‘boyish’ look.

@ barbie – i agree it is a horrible quote – women come in all shapes and sizes and it is never a good idea to generalize and lump people into a certain category. LA may be harsh but when you chose acting as your career you should suck it up and stop complaining. You get paid to look good, there is not very much skill involved.
Anyone who lives in Los Angeles would know exactly what she is talking about; It is true that you feel hideous if you aren’t stick-thin. And lets face it, most celebrities barely eat anything and work out religiously to be a certain size. Of course there are some naturally skinnies out there, such as Giselle, but still a lot of them diet like crazy, take different pills that numb the appetite, etc.
Rachel, when you actually HAVE a belly, then we’ll talk.

i’ve seen her in person, and she’s quite tiny but looks like it’s natural for her. she ate at the restaurant where i waitress in nyc and she’s absolutely lovely in manner and in appearance.

Gorgeous. Her quote really is probably just really honest. Who doesn’t feel insecure sometimes? It may be a little insensitive to the twigs of the world, but not every quote is thoroughly thought thru, is it?

The thing is, there’s really no correlation between being thin and having a “boyish figure,” which Rachel seems to claim there is. Look at Megan Fox – she’s tiny, and nobody would deny she is as feminine as they come. Most models actually have quite feminine measurements – they’re almost never straight up and down, despite being so thin. So I don’t buy the whole, “I’m a woman so that justifies my having extra pounds on my stomach” thing.
On the other hand, I deeply admire her for admitting to fact that she personally wishes she could be skinny. Most stars don’t have the guts to say that – they all say something like, “There’s a lot of pressure, but I don’t let it get to me, and I eat whatever I want.” Total BS. Fat or thin, they’re all on diets – with varying degrees of success.

I saw her at the Toronto film fest for Brothers Bloom last year- i have said to my friends who didn’t attend- probably the most stunning woman i have even seen- she was REALLY thin- she had on one of those tight ‘bandage’ dresses and she didn’t have even an ounce of a belly… She is the very definition of class and grace
Grace and talent? Not in speech that’s for sure. Frist of all what she says does not make anyone sensitive just confused. All girls want to be super-skinny? She has not met all girls to say that, damn and she is a mother with little education on how to express her views. Second she mentions most women have a woman’s body. Yes of course a woman has a woman’s body because they are women and not most woman. Lastly, everybody has breast and butt even horses do and everybody deserves to be proud of their breats and butts no matter big or small. If you really are concerned about fat girls do not compare them to skinny girls. Amen.
