She has a “Dutch” physique, meaning that she is not meant to be petite. That being said, it does look like she gained a few. She is gorgeous either way, needless to say I’m very proud of my fellow country-girl.

She used to be a bit thinner I believe, now she is perhaps a size 8 cause she is very tall, but I like that not all Victorias secret angels are very thin like Alessandra but that there is variety. Not a diss to Alessandra, as she has a beautiful body as well. I just like variety.
Overall you can tell that Doutzen takes good care of her body, eats healthy, exercises and looks beautiful! Go girl!

i think she’s perfect for victoria’s secret..she has a butt and boobs! it makes more sense that she model for them than miranda kerr. but with that said..i also feel like she can only do lingerie modeling, although she does have a gorgeous face.

I’m surprised b/c I didn’t know she had gained so much weight, but I think it’s awesome that she has gone up a lot in size and is still working. I agree. I hate how the word “healthy” is thrown around to describe a girl who isn’t thin. Who’s to say naturally thin girls can’t be healthy?
Anyway, I think this Doutzen is drop dead gorgeous from head to toe. She is the epitome of what a real supermodel should look like (a la Cindy, Elle, Linda, etc). There should be more girls like her in fashion.
I’m not as amazed by her body as I am by the other VS girls’ bodies, but her face is much more beautiful than, say, Alexandra’s.

I’ve never cared for VS stuff because I know I’ll look like crap in it compared to how the models look…but this models figure is a lot closer to mine: like how I look when I’ve been taking good care of myself! It’s nice to see VS apparal looking good on a slightly larger frame. If they don’t photoshop her down I’ll be more likey to treat myself to some of their stuff! Maybe they are taking notes from the stir caused by the infamous Glamour magazine picture…though there’s a big difference between slightly overweight (any type of overweight is not healthy!)and simply not skin and bones (healthy).

she’s the same model for the Calvin Klein swimsuit ads and looks much thinner in those (toned, but smaller over all). looks wonderful here and its a great change of VS scenery!

This is what swimsuit/lingerie models should look like. The super skinny ones look better for High Fashion/Runway. Remember Tyra switching to swimsuit & VS because she got too curvy for runway. It really shows how warped our society has become when people call this too thick!

Shoot I like both of them. They are both super hot, they both represent the best of their body types! Not everyone can be thin, not everyone can be “normal” and not everyone can be full-figured. But Alessandra is definitely one of the best looking thin girls and Doutzen is one of the best looking normal-sized girls. So I like both of them!

I was never a fan of Doutzen, but I must admit that she looks absolutely beautiful! She has definitely gained quite a bit of weight. And in comparison to another person her height, one of my close friends is 5′10″ and 159lbs and she looks slimmer than Doutzen. Different frames maybe? At the end of the day, Doutzen’s lookin’ good
Yup. Way too thick for a model. Or just in general for that matter. I’m sure she will be “spoken to” about her weight. She will need to lose before the big fashion show. $100 bucks says she will be at least 20 lbs lighter by the time they air the VS Fashion Show.

i have a similar lower body (small upper body),and it is INCREDIBLY difficult to achieve that level of smoothness/toned on the thighs and butt. so she is definitely working out. i love her body though. maybe we can see more of this aesthetic in the future. She is still thinner than most of the population, but unless youre willing to work hard for it (ie not eat/exercise quite a bit) it is very difficult to look like miranda and the others.

The thing is, Rian, it’s extremely difficult to have that weight and that beautiful shape at the same time. I have a ‘normal’ weight, BMI and size, but if I draw my silhouette on a wall it looks like a jelly monster; when I was skinnier it naturally was more model-shape. So everyone prefers to be super skinny so they don’t have to worry about saddle-bags and muffin-tops.

I think it’s because of her shape. Sorry, but I think pear-shaped women nearly always look best at a lower weight, as do apple-shaped ones. It’s the hourglasses that manage to be knock-outs at heavier weights, IMO. So, this girl doesn’t really have the shape to look stunning here, and could benefit from losing 10 lbs.

In the third picture the way she is posing you can see how big her middle is and she has back fat. You can see it from the indention in her waist. Also her thighs are really big for a model. She is very pretty but she is too heavy to be a swimsuit model. She will probably be thinner in the VS runway Christmas show.

Stick thin and beautiful are not the same (nor mutually exclusive for that matter)… thinness is discipline and beauty is unique. I prefer beauty and Doutzen is beautiful! Her body is indeed bigger than that of some other models but ppl thinking that the size of her body makes it more easy to attain – and therefore less of an example should realize that such a train of thought makes people unhappy. Desiring something that is hard (for some even impossible) to achieve over true beauty is insane, truly insane!

She’s absolutely gorgeous and definitely super hot, but I don’t really like that swimsuit on her. In the first, second, and fourth picture, you can see how it hits her hip awkwardly, so she has an unavoidable bulge over it. I know it’ll be airbrushed out, but whatever. I am sooo tired of the philosphy that the skinner you are = the more beautiful you are. I believe women’s idea of what beauty is gets more warped each year with the skinner models. This woman is EXACTLY what men want and are attracted to. I don’t know ANY guy that would think bones protruding and a BMI of 17 are more attractive.

One of my best friends is Dutch, 5′7″ and 109lbs. She’s over 50 yrs. old. Her whole family is tall and thin. Not all Dutch people are big and large boned.
I just found pictures of her from when she was MUCH thinner. What a shame that she’s gained so much! She’s beautiful, and would be more so if she got back to her original modeling shape. She was a total knockout. I hope she gets back to her lighter body.
