According to Spice Girl Melanie Chisholm (aka Mel C/Sporty Spice), Victoria Beckham is not suffering from an eating disorder. Instead, Melanie claims, Victoria is healthy – very thin, but healthy and very disciplined. Melanie was interviewed on Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour recently where she discussed her own previous over-exercising, under-eating and binge-eating disorder.

Apparently she wanted to set the record straight on Victoria, given the anorexia rumors that often follow her around:

“Victoria has been thin for a long time now and I’ve spent time with her and I’ve seen she does eat well, she’s very healthy. She has a very strict diet but she does eat so now I tend to be less concerned about her. There was a time when I didn’t spend a lot of time with her and I thought, ‘wow what is going on’ but I’ve spent time with her now and she is a healthy woman just very disciplined, very thin, but very disciplined.”

  1. amers | 22/10/09

shes anorexic. thats what i think

  2. saasssss | 22/10/09

yeah well anorexics are also “disciplined”

  3. jenni | 22/10/09

    i agree with amers…

  4. Suzy | 22/10/09

Oh my gosh, why does Mel C always have to talk about her eating disorder during her Spice Girls time? I read it in many many articles.
Was there nothing else in her life interesting enough to be told?

  5. Jess | 22/10/09

Who knows. I love the outfit in this pic, though.

  6. Kelly | 22/10/09

Cool story, Mel C. Victoria CANNOT be healthy.

  7. jaxx | 22/10/09

of course very disciplined, that’s easy to see since she’s maintained her low weight for so long. i can’t see it being healthy, though. maybe what she eats is indeed healthy… but being so strict isn’t.

  8. Linds | 22/10/09

    What a load of bull.

  9. Natty | 22/10/09

I agree with amers. She’s far from healthy looking to me. Having an extremely strict diet without allergies etc is an eating disorder in itself I believe.

  10. Megan | 22/10/09

I think she’s got an ED too. Maybe Vicky paid Mel to say that, haha.

  11. Jade | 22/10/09

I’ve always thought she’s had an eating disorder, always will think that.

  12. jaime | 22/10/09

she’s fabulous. thats what i think

  13. serafin | 22/10/09

On this picture she definitely does not look healthy. Twiggy was never this scary skinny !

  14. Mel | 22/10/09

She wasn’t big at all when the spice girls first became big in 96. If she thought she needed to lose weight to get as thin as she is now, then she def has some kind of problem.

She was never big. But no one is naturally that thin. You have to work out like crazy or just not eat much.

  15. Cici | 22/10/09

That’s ’cause Twiggy was naturally skinny. Victoria isn’t naturally this skinny, or at least so it seems.

  16. kj | 22/10/09

I agree with amers and jade. and geez…would this woman smile? she looks like a drag to hang out with.

  17. Jess | 22/10/09

She looks like she has an eating disorder and looks unhealthy. That’s what I think.

  18. UpperEastSide blonde | 22/10/09

She’s not an anorexic like Allegra Versace or Tracy Gold, etc but she probably has disordered eating behavior (what Mel C calls discipline or having a ‘very strict diet’). She keeps herself this thin by purposefuly undereating on a daily basis. Don’t know if that is anorexia or not, but its not a healthy way to live.

  19. Mitch | 22/10/09

For some reason, I’ve never come across any picture of her stepping in or out any gym. So I guess, she’s just having a super duper strict diet.

  20. Mitch | 22/10/09

Go look at Spicegirl’s 90s videos. She was always skinny, but in my opinion, she looked like she had a little meat around her bones that time, right now, she’s just…. ridiculously bony, she’s still fabulous though.

  21. me | 22/10/09

I call BS. Even if you do eat, if it’s just rice cakes and veggies and then you exercise for 3 hours, it’s still an eating disorder.

  22. sarah | 22/10/09

She’s “pretty” but i think a bad example and role model. She has kids and most moms usually get a healthier body. and she would obviously hide her eating disorder from Mel C or anyone if they came to see her. she always looks mad probly from “disciplining” herself so hard

  23. Ruby | 22/10/09

What I don’t understand is, even if what mel c/b whatever is saying is true, regarding the fact she does eat, she still much be limiting the amount of food she eats to quite a high degree, no body fat is every unhealthy. And why in god’s name would you want to be this thin. It can’t be very fun.

  24. Ruby | 22/10/09

    opps I meant must

  25. Birmingham El | 22/10/09

Sadly, she looks like a man in drag.

  26. MScotton | 22/10/09

I think she looks much more “tidy” then the blond in the door in the 1st picture.
She likely has a very clean diet, low fat/sugar and exercises a lot her body is a result of that. Good for her for having such discipline- she looks better than she did when she was chunky.

  27. BAK | 22/10/09

LIES. I don’t see how anyone in their right mind could possibly call someone of this weight HEALTHY!! That is so irresponsible regardless of whether or not she actually has a eating disorder. With children of her own she should be setting a example for, she should know better. Shame on her.

  28. PIZZAPIEPLEASE | 22/10/09

    Seriously guys…

Look at the original pics of The Spice Girls……… who is this chick?

I feel great sorrow for her, her boys and her husband.

    This size is miserable IMHO

  29. Birmingham El | 22/10/09

PS – Who thinks she looked best with the brown ‘Pob’ when she first got it done? I don’t like her with spiky man hair – she is so angular and spiky with her miserable face and fish-filleting heels that she needs something to soften the whole mannish thing.

Actually, I guess the gorg David does that a bit, when he stands next to her!!!

  30. MADemoiselle Berlin | 22/10/09

    ridiculous.

i think she only says those things because they are planning a spice girl comeback.
    posh def. has an ED.

  31. meli§a | 22/10/09

yeah…people with former ED problems say things like that just to cover up. i agree, that’s bunch of bologna! at least she hasn’t died yet for being able to maintain such a low weight, since having kids and her spice girl days. wish her the best.

that’s a great outfit she has on though :)

  32. ln | 22/10/09

    Ugh CLEARLY anorexic. Sad…

  33. Gaviota | 22/10/09

there is nothing healthy about being that thin! she was normal weight when she was in the group…

  34. Kay | 22/10/09

That’s called Orthorexia. It’s never healthy(mentally) to be extreme about what you eat. I could eat 5x a day but if all I’m eating is dry lettuce & a tiny piece of chicken, I’d still be undereating. Just because you eat doesn’t mean you aren’t restricting your body of calories it needs to be at a healthful weight.

  35. trudy | 22/10/09

Victoria actually has polysystic ovaries which can make the suffer gain or lose weight, she probably takes medication for this which could explain why her low weight has been maintained for so long and why she used to be a lot heavier (since she hasnt always had PCO’s) Although Im not denying she eats extremely strictly as shes admitted that before. Shes maintained for so long I think she is fine and people should leave her alone there are plenty of hollywood stars who are as thin as her and dont get any where near as much bad press about it

  36. Alias | 22/10/09

Victoria is amazing, and disciplined. No new news here!

  37. Kianna | 22/10/09

I agree w/others. Victoria was thin in her Spice Girl Days; but, now is waay too (scary) skinny. Agree totally with UpperEastSide blonde. Posh isn’t like Allegra Versace or like Tracey Gold (used to be)..but she is definitely drastically UNDER-
EATING on a daily basis & that is very disordered eating whatever you call it. …Strict, disciplined, RIGID eating …it is still a serious health issue and if V.B. wants to call it disciplined & strict…so be it I guess. But in reality she is not healthy in her eating “rituals”! (JMHO)

  38. ms_benes | 22/10/09

Of course it’s an eating disorder. Don’t most folk start out saying that they will only eat yogurt, peas and veggies for health’s sake. Ha! I think some of us have been there and know that tale too well.

  39. whocares | 22/10/09

I think that constantly being “disciplined” to that extreme (where diet is concerned) is disordered eating. I agree that she may “eat” in front of others, but probably not when alone.

  40. londoncalling | 22/10/09

When a famous chef in England cooked a Sunday dinner, Victoria and Sienna miller where among the guest, Sienna ate loads, but Victoria didn’t touch a thing but a few salads leaves, thats according to him, if that’s discipline so OK she is very disciplined!

  41. anon | 22/10/09

she may eat, so not be anorexic… But it’s obviously not enough because that’s not her natural weight. She fights her body by being incredibly disciplined and that is the definition of an eating disorder

  42. Ahmandaaa | 22/10/09

What do I think? I think I don’t care. She looks healthy enough. If she wants to starve herself, that’s none of my business. She always looks decent and glamorous.

  43. Polly | 22/10/09

Late last year she mentioned she started to run 5 miles everyday, so she started eating more (what 2 more grapes?). This lady does have an eating disorder, her eating is distorted and NOT healthy. Just look at the woman.

  44. Rooni3033 | 22/10/09

I don’t believe it, she does have some kind of an eating disorder, if you can make yourself THAT thin the only way you can do it is by eating very, very, VERY little, and if she does eat in front of others then she’s throwing it up after. There is no way, NO WAY that she does not have an eating disorder of some sort. And you know it’s funny that a recent recoveree of an eating disorder is trying to cover up her friends eating disorder, what is that all about?? Just sad!

  45. Kimberly | 22/10/09

Call a spade, a spade…This woman is anorexic. Can you imagine living your adult life in such a personal prison? Missing out on the joys of food and wine? I feel sad for her. Also, it is a blessing she does not have daughters. This is such a poor example she is setting.

  46. Katrina | 22/10/09

Are her shoes too big? Look at her foot at the back, the shoe looks too big for her foot, also the heels are huge as usual and the top of her bony foot is protruding weirdly from the other shoe. Posh may have style but I don’t get her obsession with being this tiny, she looks far from healthy and resembles a starving boy of 10 instead of a woman.

  47. Persephone | 22/10/09

I like her outfit. She looks fabulous. I doubt that she is this thin naturally.

  48. Mary | 22/10/09

londoncalling, whoa thats so disrespectful of her! Why on earth bother to go if you arent going to eat??

  49. maria | 22/10/09

Well of course she eats, who desn’t? The thing is how much she eats and when she eats. You can make everyone see what you want them to see, right?

  50. Jordan | 22/10/09

love her, she always looks put together, i think i beleive it, she seems so happy in every interview about her life and family

  51. AngelaB | 22/10/09

Sorry, no, she is too skinny and probably does eat normally. Earlier pictures of her from her Spice Girls days where she was slender but not scary skinny tell the real story. I do not think she looks good this way. I think she is obviously under a lot of stress and uses control of her diet to cope. I hope she gets help.

  52. Elizabeth_the_First | 22/10/09

I think she’s too thin. She doesn’t look good. She’s not sexy anymore, like when she was in Spice Girls.

  53. Lanee | 22/10/09

I think she looked so much sexier when she was at the wt. she was in the SG. Now she looks bony. I agree that no one is that naturally thin, you would have to not eat much or work out like crazy, or both like the previous poster said.

  54. happygolucky | 22/10/09

So glad to see that most comments here are calling this out.
@UpperEastSide blonde puts it very well IMO.

  55. Natasha | 22/10/09

I think she looks classy and sexy almost every time I see her. And she def looks very “disciplined”. Sorry but look at that waist, who among us doesn’t secretly want that waist? lol

  56. abi | 22/10/09

Very thin + very disciplined = anorexic (looks like)… and anorexia is also defined as maintaining an unhealthily low weight, not just LOSING a lot of weight.

  57. amy | 22/10/09

anorexic or not..she looks gross. shes a pretty woman but her super thinness with her rather large chest looks ….weird.

  58. Natasha | 22/10/09

btw wasn’t that why Tom Cruise had her hanging around with Katie a couple years ago? He wanted Victoria to teach her “discipline” or something? i remember reading that a couple places

  59. sassykzt | 22/10/09

@saasssss– SO TRUE!!!!! She is not disciplined to buy the correct shoe size.

  60. jenni | 22/10/09

i’m not going to say that she is or isn’t anorexic, but she did come out not that long ago declaring she’s not a skeleton at 7-1/2 stones, which is around 102-103lbs. at 5′4″, her weight puts her at a BMI of 17.5, which means she’s teetering on the border of anorexia. all she would have to do is drop a pound and be considered clinically anorexic. i’m just putting this out there for consideration.

  61. crys | 22/10/09

she could just have really controlled eating patterns and as long as Victoria isn’t stressing about her weight and every morsel of food then she could be healthy…

  62. Blahhx16 | 22/10/09

So then, if this girl is ‘disciplined’, what is ’skinny’?

  63. maeee | 22/10/09

shes sooo much prettier at a healthy thin weight then this underweight look.

  64. maeee | 22/10/09

her feet look horrible.. like a old lady… she looks like a elderly woman

  65. deputydawg | 22/10/09

“She has a very strict diet but she does eat…”

    *face palm*

Very strict, restrictive eating that keeps you underweight is…well… disordered eating — HOLY SHIT!

just by…I don’t know… maybe… looking at Victoria Beckham, it’s obvious that the girl doesn’t get enough calories. She’s a naturally thin person, but not that thin – she eats stringently to keep herself that way, as the article admits. And that’s…umm…a disorder. How could you not come to that conclusion? Excessive thiness + restrictive diet = ????

  66. Mary | 22/10/09

I know, Blahhx16… If this is disciplined, who would commenters consider to be ’scary skinny’? I give up. I have come to the conclusion that its no longer the celebrities who contribute to poor body image but ridiculous posts from people who think there is nothing wrong with certain images. I mean, you can look at her and think ’she looks too thin’ and then hear someone say ‘nope, she looks fine’. And some poor people actually think the other person is speaking intelligently and begin to doubt their own feelings…

  67. Barbie | 22/10/09

I love food. I love being thin.

  68. izzy | 23/10/09

i think mel c’s right. if she had an eating disorder, she wouldnt be looking like this for such a long time. she would gain weight, maybe lose it again and then die eventually.

  69. b | 23/10/09

THERE IS NO WAY she is 103 lbs. I’m 5′4″ and 116 lbs. Thick ol’ thighs and a bony top…I look like fifty pizzas heavier than she does.

  70. justathought | 23/10/09

I agree Vicky has always been small but she is getting older she should be GAINING weight but she has lost weight since her younger days. She was small but not this small. As far as Mel vicky has a strict diet and does eat. well first of all it is considered an eating disorder to be super strict on your diet when you are obviously already thin and second of all she doesnt know if victoria was throwing up or exercising
Im not saying i know for sure she has an ED but i am saying that Mels comments prove nothing!

  71. Luci | 23/10/09

I think she could do with a couple of pounds and look a LOT hotter
when she was in the early spice girl days, she was a bit heavier, and a lot more good looking
    lately she just looks wasted

  72. misstigress | 23/10/09

I wonder how much she was paid to say this?

  73. SeeWithoutHavingtoGo | 23/10/09

Healthy? Mel C. must be off her head. If Mel C. remembers anything about eating disorders, she’ll know that they’re about control. So Posh will want to control how she’s percieved (i.e. not anorexic). It’s like when Nicole Richie was photographed eating burgers frequently when she’d become extremely thin a few years back. She was trying to conceal her illness.

  74. skinny10 | 23/10/09

she looks good in this picture. as much as she might look skinny i like it that she has been very discipline. all of you saying she is anorexic knows is not true and is just being jealous i must say. is it because she has maintained the weight for so long that makes her anorexic or that she has a diet? stop the hating.

  75. Laura | 23/10/09

Well as soon as I read the headline I thought ‘given Mel’s history, what authority is she?’

OK so maybe that doesn’t sound quite right – lot’s of people who have recovered from ED’s are quite the authority and very knowledgeable and extra vigilant with those around them. In this case though, I think Mel’s view of what’s healthy is still very much distorted.

  76. Mazza | 23/10/09

I think without the breast implants she would look emaciated and without all the fake tan her skin would look terrible. If she is 102 lbs at 5′4″, then she is underweight. It is also likely that she would add a few pounds to the weight she tells people. I’m sure she restricts her eating to an unhealthy point to maintain this.

  77. Mickey von Dutch | 23/10/09

It’s very simple: look at her appearance way back in her career and compare it to the way she looks now. If she does not have an ED, she certainly looks like she is skipping all culinary fun. She is on my list of self-obsessed celebrities, featuring also the likes of Kelly Rippa and Madonna. It’s a pity she doesn’t losen up a bit, because underneath this sought-after exterior she does have a great sense of humor.

  78. Lexie | 23/10/09

She has openly admitted that she used to have an eating disorder, and everyone knows that eating disorders are always with you, wether you recover fully or not, so its CLEAR she has disordered eating even if she just wants to maintain her TINY weight or loose more, and its not healthy, i like her as a woman but i feel sorry for her, she cant be happy, and thank god she only has boys, because if she had a girl i can imagine the consequences of having such a “disceplined” mother ha

  79. Maru | 23/10/09

    NEW vocab to learn disciplined=anorexic.

  80. Petal | 23/10/09

I just have to put in my two cents here. She looks obviously emaciated to me, and I think it’s pretty obvious she has an ED as well. However, what is up with people who say “She probably has an ED and she’s too thin, but looks fabulous.” I mean, I understand there’s a certain mindset that likes the scary skinny body, but to critique it and advocate it in the same comment is both confusing and misleading. No wonder she looks like this!

  81. little rasberry | 23/10/09

BLAH BLAH BLAH……………………………what is the different between a “very stict diet “and a eating disorder???

  82. tuffers | 23/10/09

I wish she would try a new pose for the paps. I’m sick of this one. Same exact pose in every single picture, except the ones where she’s walking with her hand on her ear.

  83. JeanGenie | 23/10/09

If Mel C thinks she is so healthy how would she feel if her daughter lived like Posh?

  84. Sophie | 23/10/09

Well of course she eats – otherwise she would be dead.

The question is does she eat enough? and the answer is no.

  85. Matilda | 23/10/09

Well, you can call it disciplined eating but let’s face it, it is an eating disorder if you are so worried about putting on half a pound that you rather just eat things that have no fat, no calories, no nothing really.

But as long as she is happy who are we to judge?

  86. Anon | 23/10/09

She is my height, and well I can’t imagine looking like that even if I would like to. She must be extremely disciplined. She probably eats like one carrot a day.

  87. lt | 23/10/09

I hate when people think that if someone eats, they can’t be anorexic. SO STUPID. People with anorexia DO EAT…just far fewer calories than they should.

  88. symbeline | 23/10/09

Healthy? Yeah, right. I watch what I eat and I’m pretty disciplined to maintain my weight, but I also eat chocolate and tons of carbs (the good ones) every day, and a couple of times every month I indulge in fatty foods, like nachos or pizza. This woman makes me sad, and I’m in love with skinny girls, but she just looks like a skeleton with a dress.

  89. symbeline | 23/10/09

Rian, I used to have a user here, why isn’t my password working? I’ve tried the old one and the one that I used for the forums and nothing works. I can only login in the forum.

  90. Kianna | 23/10/09

Have been re-reading some of the comments & everyone (for the most part seems to think about the same way). Thing is that w/ana…a person eats. It’s that a person w/ana restricts to the MAX the # of calories…like no more than 300 calories a day or whatever the person w/the E.D. decides is restrictive enough. V.B. is looking worse as she ages when she keeps herself so scary skinny & unhealthy looking. (IMO)!

  91. little rasberry | 23/10/09

BLAH BLAH BLAH………………….That is the different between a eating disorder and “a very strict DIET”?

  92. Robert | 23/10/09

Without Silicon she’d be invisible. Not pretty.

  93. Tiina | 23/10/09

She doesn’t look anorexic and I’m sure she is perfectly healthy. She obviously likes being this weight and although it’s much thinner than what most people could or would want to achieve that doesn’t mean she should be labeled anorexic. Assuming a skinny person is unhealthy is just as foolish as assuming an overweight person is unhealthy. She is underweight but FAR more people walk around OVERweight in this country which is more detrimental to health.

She probably doesn’t eat processed foods, sugar saturated fats, etc…. yeah, that sounds sooo unhealthy. I’m surprised she hasn’t keeled over from malnutrition yet.

  94. Erin | 23/10/09

Victoria Beckham CLEARLY has an Eating Disorder, I am an expert in the Field of Psychology, specifically Eating Disorders, and are very familiar with the traditional ‘textbook-case’ qualifying symptoms. Yes, Victoria has always been ‘thin’ since performing with the Spice Girls, but back in the day during the onslaught of her singing career she definitely weighed more, and it shows in the pictures. Hollywood and the media places a lot of emphasis on female celebrities to be ‘thin’ and conform to the ‘ideal female size zero body’–so, I can empathize with Victoria, but she does need help and her cover-up of saying that “she is healthy, but disciplined” is exactly the characteristic of what EDO patients do to mask their illness. Think about it, what a PERFECT excuse, but I’m not fooled and I don’t think it will be very long before everyone else realizes the truth behind the matter as well. She has only continued to grow thinner and waste away over the years…the more she is told how thin she is getting is only fueling her illness in the long run.

  95. Draccae | 23/10/09

    She looks ill, IMO.

  96. Amanda | 23/10/09

If something was seriously wrong with her health, we wouldn’t see her out and about all the time, wouldn’t we?

Good for her to be able to maintain her thin frame. Not everyone is gonna like it, but if there’s no medical problem, I say let the woman be.

You don’t harass an overweight person for being too big all the time, why is there a double standard for skinny people?

Mel C is probably not the best source of information for Victoria’s health, but if your friend is constantly being attacked by the media for her weight, I’d assume she’d defend her.

  97. Miss Jessie | 23/10/09

Sure she’s way underweight, but she entertains me being so.

  98. Ann | 23/10/09

She’s anorexic and she looks awful.

  99. Corinne | 23/10/09

I know she’s super skinny but I still think she’s gorgeous. It works for her. As far as an eating disorder, I don’t know, could be, I don’t know her. I’m sure she is very strict and I’m sure OCD about her diet.

  100. Annie | 23/10/09

She’s never smiling – maybe that’s because she’s so tired from her “strict” eating or it could be that if she smiled it would plump up her cheeks slightly. She was so pretty/cute back in her Spice Girls days when she had a bit more weight on her. Lovely feminine shape now – a stick with boobs. :(

  101. Jen | 23/10/09

I really hate reading stuff like “she eats, so she´s not anorexic”. Anorexics eat food too, just as low-cal as possible, much like Victoria.

  102. Claire | 23/10/09

It’s for the best IMO, her sister has piled on the pounds in recent years and the Adams Genes don’t look good unless skinny.

I’d rather be an undereater than an overeater, personally. Just not quite to that extent. I know it’s total speculation but I think in a couple of years the Beckham Brand might split.

    Just my thoughts.

  103. Angelis | 23/10/09

EWWW, she doesn’t look normal at all. There is nothing sexy about her bones sticking out all over the place. This woman needs help, pronto!

  104. Creepy Doll | 23/10/09

Being very disciplined does not mean one’s healthy.
She looked so much better when she weighed more in my opinion

  105. S. | 23/10/09

Anorexics are the most disciplined people you can ever imagine!

  106. spanktacular | 23/10/09

    i LOVE her hair

she has always been thin but even more so after her pregnancies.

  107. Lindsay | 23/10/09

She was always on the brink of being scary skinny but she has finally went over. She is a beautiful, stylish woman and it is too bad she feels she has to be this thin to be beautiful. Yeah part of me would like to be that small but I know at the same time I would miss out on a lot of wonderful things in life…like a great meal my husband and I cooked together, or having a bottle of wine and a great conversation with my girlfriends. I just don’t think the tradeoff is worth it…beauty is temporary, but good memories last a lifetime.

  108. sweetnsour | 23/10/09

Disciplined = obsessively controlling her diet = anorexia…

    C’mon!

  109. asiont | 23/10/09

I see that lots of people here want to belive that she is anorectic, that’s kind of funny. perhaps you want to excuse yourself of being fat.

  110. fbo_girl | 23/10/09

She is so thin, makes the blonde woman behind her look like a cow.

  111. swine | 23/10/09

asiont sorry but that was lame. try again.

  112. sama | 23/10/09

there’s being discipline, and there’s being obsessed. you can see that what she has is an obsession, and it looks like she’s addicted to staying skinny.

it’s quite sad. she needs to let her hair down and be a bit more normal.

  113. girly girl | 23/10/09

She looks like a wax figure-not sure if that’s a good thing or not. lol.

  114. milan | 23/10/09

Thank you Trudy! I have said this so many times on here that she has said with her own mouth that she has pcos.

I have it. It is a very strict diet for someone who is serious about not developing other health issues.

It means lots of fruits and salads, raw or steamed veggies with no butter, no oil, no salt, no junk food, no sugar, extremely low carbs and no meat with cholesterol which means no meat people. Fish only ever so often.

Those of us with pcos are more prone for diabetes, heart disease, high cholesterol etc. even if you are skinny! My doctor is one who tells you like it is. This is a very serious illness inwhich most women just focus on the possiblity of not having children but it is a very serious health issue that can kill you if you do not eat extremely healthy and exercise.

I heard her say the other day she was now jogging on the runner at home come on people she’s rich she doesn’t have to go out to go to the gym for goodness sake I am not rich but I have a home gym!!!

  115. obesita | 23/10/09

Well, since I do not know her and her diet habits, I will not pass judgement. However, Does Mel C thinks we are stooopid? Or for that matter does Vicky? LOL and more LOL.

She (VB) is and has been for more than a decade, emanciated.
On the other hand, she gave birth to three perfectly healthy children….
Oh well, BS. I think this is BS. Like most of you

  116. Alyssa | 23/10/09

Although I do think she is too thin, I think she is smart in how she dresses and how she poses for photographers. Evident in the photo above, she is totally doing the pose photographers told us to do in highschool prom pictures to appear slimmer. And really, if she wasn’t so thin, she would rarely be talked about… So I’m sure she will do whatever it takes to maintain her low weight.

  117. Annemiek | 23/10/09

She should get help. She makes skinny people look gigantic.

  118. omg | 23/10/09

Sorry anyone who suffers from an eating disorder is disiplined . . .if that makes sense. You are restricting food and have complete control. Although I have suffered in the past with such a “disciplined diet” there is much more of an underlying issue. Victoria never used to be this skinny. She in my opinion is too skinny now, it does not look natural. She looked much healthier in her spice girl days.

  119. Tee | 23/10/09

Yes, it is obvious Victoria is very strict with her diet and it is unnecessary…we all know that. Her being a celebrity makes it hard to live and let live though. Wish they’d quit wasting time defending what we obviously already know. I wish she’d smile in some pictures too…you don’t have to smile in all of them but geez, why take yourself THAT seriously? You’re missing out on fun.

  120. S | 23/10/09

Uh, since when is disciplined another word for eating disordered? Most people who are disciplined with their diet are able to maintain a HEALTHY not too-thin not too-fat weight. Like say, a BMI of 19 – 22. Not a BMI of 16 like Victoria probably has.

Mel C, as someone who knows firsthand what an ED is like and that even anorexics do actually eat, should know better than to say something stupid like that.

  121. flack | 23/10/09

I hate to say it guys, but almost every single woman in my family is about her size. Tiny, even bony. I am too, to the point that I feel immature and sometimes physically intimidated by other women sometimes. I eat about 2,200 calories a day. I know, because I kept a food journal for a while in a college nutrition class and I checked.

I got linked here to look at her Yohomato shoes, and thought I would comment.

  122. whocares | 23/10/09

@ Lindsay: love your comment! One of the wisest I’ve ever seen here.

  123. lilia | 24/10/09

I just cannot imagine eating like that!
Actually I’m having 2 pieces of cakes, 2 puffs plus
    3 bread per meal!
    I would die without desserts!

  124. Rebecca | 24/10/09

people are so critical…she could just be naturally skinny…my cousin is even thinner than she is and she literally went through a period where she ate ribs and fast food right before she went to sleep, hoping to gain weight, but she just couldn’t for the life of her put on any pounds no matter how much greasy fried food she ate

also, some people could have a naturally low bmi…my friend has a bmi of 9 and she eats like a monster (and no she does not throw it up after, and no she does not only eat around other people while starving herself when she’s alone) and doesn’t exercise but her body looks freaking athletic and toned

  125. S | 24/10/09

Rebecca, a BMI of 9? I hope that is a typo and you really meant 19, because otherwise you are lying. I’ve read of people getting down to severely low BMIs of 10 – 11 and at that point most people DIE. And they look completely skeletal, no muscles left on them. Your friend wouldn’t look athletic & toned at a BMI of 9.

  126. Ruby | 24/10/09

Its quite easy to see why she is so miserable, if you think about her images what she looked like before the spice girls and just at the start of the spice girls. She is very disciplined! Whats the point when you don’t look good, and just like you need to have a good meal. I thought she looked great when had more weight on. She looks better when pregnant, and has a happy glow. She’s had three children, so must be healthy.

  127. Ruby | 24/10/09

Lindsay- just noticed your post, and you are spot on!

  128. maddison | 24/10/09

I think having wealth in addition to the finest designers at her fingertips doesn’t help someone who’s obsessed and addicted to fashion. Vicki obviously has gone to extreme lengths to achieve this image in her head. She’s in the public eye so that drives her to maintain that persona. If she wasn’t, she may be more relaxed with her weight. Props to her though for being this skinny for so long (esp. after three kids) without being hospitalized! Mel B. is delusional.

  129. Jules | 24/10/09

She has three beautiful sons; a gorgeous rich and successful husband; millions in the bank; yet she is on a path to self destruction, because she feels deep down that she is average and doesn’t deserve those things. Sad! That the only way she feels special is to be thinner than anyone else. Definite ED, and never smiles because she’s obviously miserable!

  130. Olivia Rose | 24/10/09

I am sorry, but i really don’t like this woman. She is talentless in my opinion. She is is a walking stick and I am not impresed. I am impressed with women like Pink who are healthy and strong.

  131. umkoala | 24/10/09

ughh have any of you guys ever seen those vegan health nuts? they are just as tiny! if VB wasn’t so tan and dressed up all the time I’m sure she would be called anorexic much less often..

  132. glow | 24/10/09

Asiont- please come back to reality.

  133. jaime | 24/10/09

my mum used to be plumper, then she found out that she had really high cholesterol from eating so much cream/cheese/chocolate so she cut out all the bad stuff and now has the same size body as Victoria. She eats three meals a day, with snacks and has the occasional splurge on something bad, the only difference is what she is eating. Btw she’s 54 with athritis and doesn’t exercise any more than light walking or bike riding. I have the plump body she used to have and wish i was that disciplined with myself that i could do the same. Discipline does not equal an eating disorder. What about all the people who have no discipline (like me) who can’t stop stuffing things in their mouths? I guess the logic is no discipline = normal, discipline = eating disorder….

  134. Rebecca | 25/10/09

S, nope no typo…i know a few males with even lower bmi’s…but they are very very very athletic…to the point where they have to almost force feed themselves to get enough calories

  135. Rebecca | 25/10/09

i know it sounds off…the skinniest person i know period has a bmi of 19 and is much much thinner than the girl with a bmi of 9

  136. Monica | 25/10/09

I love Victoria posts! She looks good. I like her.

  137. Suzy | 25/10/09

I can’t believe Mel C is so dumb.

  138. PandaBear | 25/10/09

To the commenter regarding polycystic ovarian syndrome, that actually CAUSES you to gain weight. @jenni I agree – a BMI of 17.4 is so teetering on the edge that drinking less water one day would put her in the aneorexic category. I say let the woman be – she is clearly happy this way and has maintained at this weight unlike “true” aneorexics who don’t know what their BMI cuttoff should be and just keep on losing – but it is still sad. She probably eats like 600 cals a day and exercises two hours every day. She will pay for it later in life when she is the spokeswoman for Bovina

  139. cokate | 26/10/09

just fyi rebecca you are definitely talking about BODY FAT PERCENTAGES. assuming your friend were 5′5″, at a BMI of 9 she would weigh 55 POUNDS and this would only be possible if she had been dead long enough to decompose to that point.

  140. diamondgirl | 26/10/09

This topic is so redundant…she does not eat enough and loves the attention she gets for being uber-thin…if she wasn’t thin…what would anyone say about her…Nothing…she will pay dearly later for her ignorance to her health and her obsession about her weight.

  141. Ray | 26/10/09

    Hey Guys.
Some 411. Polycystic ovaries messes with your hormone levels such as insulin and testosterone. Insulin mess up means chances for diabetes, obesities and other heart problems. Testosterone screw-up means less chances to conceive.
My periods actually went away when I gained weight. By losing 10 ilbs, I actually started to have regular periods.

Our genetics are the most annoying type: you have to eat LESS to get your periods.
Or else most women are obese don’t have natural periods, have trouble conceiving and a bunch of health probs. Read up on it.

Finding out that an ultra skinny celeb also has pcos saved my life… I thought I was doomed to become fat and unhealthy!

  142. Jetta C | 26/10/09

Just for a contrasting opinion, I think she looks lovely in this pic. The blond was not working – this is much better–and the dress makes her look ladylike and pretty.
