In the second photo she looks very strong, commanding. With her front leg striding out, the tall boot with the hint of red sole is hot! She would look better with a few pounds off, though.
I love Hillary to pieces and always have, since I watched her on the Lizzie McGuire show. Usually she looks fab at any weight, even the heavier end of her fluctuations, but here she seems to suffer a little bit. I agree with Monica though that she looks powerful and strong in that second photo, definitely a great shot.
Also, I think she’s still looking good at her age. Just a little heavier.
I’ll have a lot of respect for her if she stays this way in spite of what producers must undoubtedly be telling her. Nice change to see someone with a less than skinny body in a hit show, stay strong, Hilary.

I think the fairisle on her sweater is making her arms look thicker…I think she looks pretty cute and I have no doubt that she’s very tiny, but I don’t understand casting her as “the movie star.” Maybe whoever casts on the show should watch some Gilligan’s Island reruns for an idea of what “the movie star” is supposed to look like.

These shots are taken from a lower angle. (always unflattering) and that sweater would make anyone look 10lbs heavier and frumpy. Her outfits lately have been very unflattering. Working on GG must reek havoc on her body image.She’s either very strong and confident with herself at this stage in her life, or she must be deeply hurting because of the criticism. Lets hope the prior!

why should she try to be “hollywood skinny” if she’s getting work? normal weight, not on a diet, work…seems pretty good. certainly beats dieting and working or worse, dieting and not getting any work.

Goes to show everyone has a predetermined “happy weight”. Remember when she was really skinny. Obviously her body wasn’t happy being that skinny. It wasn’t natural for her.

By no means is she “fat”. To me it looks like she is at her natural weight, from which in the end there is no escaping if you wanna live life instead of constantly denying yourself anything yummy. If she’s smart she will try and maintain this weight, because in the long run yo-yoing is bad for your health and you usually end up at the heavy end of the scale. On a different note: I do wish these girls would not mess with their teeth. I recently saw her on Ghost Whisperer and those elongated, hyper white facings make for a plastic fantastic look up close.

I must admit, i think she looks a lot better thinner. BUT i also think it is really good that it is’nt bothering her and she is’nt all depressed and miserable, if it was bothering her at all being this weight then she would have done something about it by now like last time. Well said, John! At this weight she looks like a clone of one of my old housemates. But I think the trousers/leggings do nothing for her. Better to have the jumper longe- more of a jumper dress- with maybe black tights? Also, look how much better she looks on the fist picture compared to the second two. Just goes to show that a smile is the best (and cheapest) accessory to all women, celebrity or otherwise

People normally say that she has a beautiful face but to be honest the weight gain is making her face look….well not that nice. She is definitely not fat and probably not overweight for her height but because of her height she can’t carry it off well and so is in danger of looking a bit frumpy. She has to be careful what she wears and who wants that when they’re in their early 20s?

It must be just me but I think she looks gorgeous! I love her at this more natural weight. She has a soft and feminine look to her which is super sexy! When she was underweight for her build her face looked harsh and her arms veiny. She looked alot older than she actually is.
Kudos to her for accepting the GG role knowing that alot of fans would not be happy with her character; and having to film with girls that are ALOT smaller framed than her. I couldn’t do it if I were her and I don’t think most women could. I think she’s amazing.

I think that at 5′2 she is probably 120 pounds. Which I think is a healthy weight. I think we are a little warped on the spectrum in thinking that lower weights are better but BMI wise she can be anywhere between 101 and 136 pounds. She is more or less right in the middle.

ugh..she has a pretty face…but when she’s this size for some reason she just doesn’t look good. i’m assuming she’s rather short? which might explain it. i feel like if the producers asked her to lose weight and she refused..she should have gotten fired! there are a ton of actors out there who are hungry for work and would do anything, and are probably better actors than hilary duff.
Am I blind? She definitely does NOT look fat to me, she looks perfectly alright!? I guess she does tend to carry some extra weight in her upper arms and I guess the sweater might make her look bigger than she actually is, but that’s about all. Other than that, she looks fine.
I like the 2nd pic of Hilary. She does look strong & confident!! And I bet that she is not as “big” as these pics are conveying…the camera angle is unflattering thus making Hilary a bit more unflattering. But, I love Hilary & yes she is not the typical Hollywood thin pin…but she is working a lot (unlike LiLo and Mischa Barton, etc; who think extreme dieting, pills …whether prescription or things like cocaine, oyxycotin, etc, and drinking & partying non-stop & they have messed up their careers). Hilary is a normal young woman & she should keep on being true to herself & her body.

She’s not fat, but not thin. Just about 15 lbs lighter and she’d look absolutely perfect.
I am 5′4″ and I used to weigh this. Although I’m still about 10lbs heavier than I want to be, weighing around 115-120 isn’t so bad at 5′4″.

she looks really pretty here. she has such a beautiful face and when she wears long sleeved tops her figure looks great too. i think it suits her , esp her face looks a lot better when her body is a little chunkier. she looks so natural and happy.

Her face is stunning in the second picture. She’s not fat. Her arms and shoulders are bigger that her legs, so what. I watched the GG episode she was in and yes her arms appeared untoned compared to the other characters but she didn’t look bigger than them.

Ugh, well it sounds like the starving chicks on this site have spoken (*rolls eyes*). I think Hillary looks healthy. I also think she looks like she couldn’t give a shit what anyone thinks of her (healthy, fabulous, strong, powerful) body – which I like even better.
People, this girl is not fat! She is absolutely fabulous and the kind of young woman that men want to take home and meet their mother. They want someone like Lindsey Lohan for an hour, tops. They would never take a skank like that home to meet mom on Thanksgiving. They would walk in the door proudly with Hilary. She’s doing a great job with her life and I hope she keeps it up! “Fat” is not the right word to use, but Hilary is defffffinitely bulky. It’s not even that she necessarily needs to shed weight, she just needs to TONE. Her arms are flabby flabby flabby. I’m shocked that someone like her, who is back on TV and consistently in the limelight, doesn’t have some sort of trainer or doesn’t go the gym ever so often on her own. I mean kudos to her I guess for going against the hollywood grain, but like many have said before me — it’s hard for me to believe she’s truly happy at this weight.

my friend works at her hotel and has seen her at least 10 times since she’s been filming in new york and claims she looks thin and “super cute” every time she sees her.

Whoa, she looks like she’s thirtysomething… she’s totally fierce and beautiful and fancy, but something (not sure what) makes her look older than she is. About her weight, she definitely has gained, but not chubby or fat at all.
I think she is an odd addition to Gossip Girl. Also, I often am distracted by her physical appearance on the show, not because she is “fat” but of course, but because she is one of the few people in Hollywood who does not have the typical body-type of most young starlets. Compared to the rest of the cast, she really sticks out. I enjoy it though. There must be a certain je ne sais quoi about this girl -that she is continuously casted but clearly does not fit the typical female actress physique.
I think she looks fantastic. She has the true definition of womanly curves, and has a beautiful face too. Sometimes the comments on this site are down right frightening. What is really going on with the women who think someone with a perfectly normal body is fat? Those posters come across as really disturbed, and should probably be more concerned with their own distorted body views than with the weight of someone else who seems to have figured it out for themselves.

to be honest, she looks a normal healthy weight. the only reason people might be calling her slightly overweight is because they are comparing her to the other gossip girl girls!! When i saw hilary on the show I thought “ohh shes much bigger than all of them” but shes NORMAL! Shows how twisted it all is. the girls on gossip girl are all tiny, hilary is a refreshing change to the show. I bet in real life if you stood next to hilary you wouldnt be thinking she was fat!

something about that sweater is really unflattering, on the show she doesn’t look as big? Her weight is still well within a healthy range if she’s fine with it, there’s no problem (and she’s still working, so clearly it hasn’t been an issue for the GG producers or whomever, yet).
