I think if she feels good at her weight she sould stay the way she is. Not everybody needs to be as skinny as rené or victoria!

Well, it’s known that American people are the fatest in the world. So I guess when you see a fat girl but not so much, you like thinking she is ‘healthy’, you don’t have to be a size 0 to be healthy, I don’t like skinny girls at all but this girl is not healthy, just remember her bikini pictures some weeks ago.. all (French) magazines I read claimed it was just disgusting to watch (cellulite,…) so I don’t think I’m the only one to have this opinion.
You don’t have to agree with me but don’t call me silly if I think she is not at a healthy size.. it was just my opinion as you have yours.
kara, fyi, cellulite is not some dangerous health risk, ok? It’s not pretty, but if you find it seriously disgusting, I guess you can’t stand being on a public beach, either, since pretty much every woman over the age of sixteen has a tiny bit of cellulite wether they’re chubby, like Mariah, or really small. Mariah’s weight looks like it’s still in a healthy BMI range, don’t worry about her. And no, I’m not American.
If only she always looked this classy (minus the fur)! She deserves to: her music is not my cup of tea, but i will be the first to admit she’s very talented. And i like how she smiles so much.
@kara: cellulite does not automatically = unhealthy. Many skinny people have it.
How do you know she is not healthy? Did you secretly check her medical records?
Gosh, she looks gorgeous! Love her hair and makeup and the dress, esp. the color. Sure, she’s a little heavier, but there’s more to life than obsessing about your body 24/7. Sometimes you go up, hopefully you go back down, but it’s all part of life’s journey.

I’m with Kara (and I AM American)- you guys are missing the point. The point is, she would medically be considered overweight- she is NOT at a healthy BMI. No way possible. She’s not thin, but everyone likes to pretend she is, just like Beyonce. She’s not thin! Accept it! Move on! Calling her thin doesn’t make your identical body thin, either. I, for one, am much smaller than her, and it’s because I work out and eat normal-sized portions. The end!

She could be medically overweight. A BMI of over 24.99, she looks big. Aesthetically she is not pleasing to look at. She can lose a lot more than 10 to 15 pounds.
Sigh. Cristina, of course she is not thin, neither is Beyonce, but she’s not fat, either, and according to some studies being a little chubby is NOT dangerous for your health. If you don’t find her body attractive, fine, but don’t pretend this is about being healthy.
Nobody actually said she was “thin”, but do you have to be thin to be healthy? What is wrong with you guys? I’d rather have her body than that of Victoria Beckham, she’s thin like hell and doesn’t have the least bit of cellulite but does that make her healthy? I don’t think so. Seriously, thin doesn’t equal healthy.
You know what? I have a BMI of 23.5 and no, I’m not toned and that’s not muscles but when I did both a medical and a fitness check-up about two months ago I was perfectly fine and I’m nowhere near the term “thin”!
To use words like “disgusting” to describe her is really sad. She’s just human, just because she’s famous and constantly watched by the media doesn’t mean that she has to look like a toothpick. I personally don’t really like her but if she can happily accept herself the way she is and enjoy life then I’m truly happy for her.

A lot of it has to do with how she sees herself. When she was in her twenties, she was married to a control freak producer, and I would bet she felt a lot of pressure, one way or another about keeping herself thin. After leaving him, she did not balloon up immediately, but it gradually dawned on her that she could gain some pounds with no big consequences.
She recognized that it was out of control a few years ago, and lost some of what she gained, and stayed reasonably slender—this last year it started getting out of control again—she recognized it, and without making a big production about it is trimming down again. Those bikini pictures might have been a hard slap in the face for her to look at—I bet her weight stabilizes this year—unless she gets pregnant.

@ Isabel I totally agree. I was considered out of my weight range (by ten pounds) a while and I was still medically healthy. Shes defintaely not medically considered “obese”. She maybe “overweight” but not to the point that shes endangering her health. If anything shes probably healthier than Victoria Beckham.
I dont think shes lost i just think shes really strapped into that dress. But i think she actually looks classy here considering what she normally wears.

Ok, I’m watching her right now, on The View. She’s bigger than I had thought. Her face is stunning, but she’s wearing leggings and a tight one armed top. She’s definitely around a size 12. She looks SO uncomfortable, I can tell she’s trying to hold her stomach in, and barely move on the couch, while talking to everyone.
This is too big for my taste. Without this dress, she wouldn’t have a waist.
OK the dress is flattering to her figure…and its supposed to be pulled off as a classy dress, but of course mariah goes and kills it with adding that run down cheap looking poodle vest. She just doesn’t get it. She’s garbage to me

She’s never reached the thin category no matter how hard she’s tried but I think her perception is all wrong. She doesn’t need to be thin! She looks fabulous with her curves…but she does need a good toning regime…those bikini pics must have been another slap in the face!

Nice haircolor! Mariah has always been exotic and unique-looking and cute as hell–but she often covers up her natural beauty with makeup and hairdye. Here, she is wearing makeup, and her hair is probably dyed, but date I say she looks more natural for some reason? She just looks classy, like a true star, instead of like trash.
