I think it’s kind of unfair she’s doing the show since she’s basically in a dance group that happens to have one member who can sing (in my opinion; i know others think melody and another one can sing, but i don’t agree) and since it’s pretty well-known that she can dance her butt off…i think i read somewhere that she has a lot of experience in other kinds of dance too. I also think it’s a little strange she’s doing the show since she’s a lot more relevant right now than most contestants are when they do that show…I’m guessing she was advised to do it, was told she would win and it would be great PR for her, since her group seems to be falling apart and her solo career failed. Either way, I think it’ll be embarrassing for her if she doesn’t do well, but she’ll probably make it to the top…..I am excited for this season though! i actually have heard of almost all the contestants, whereas other seasons i never heard of most of them. I hope this isn’t a fluke and means dwts is going to have real and better celebs on it from now on
Btw, Nicole really has beautiful bone structure…she kind of takes away from it and makes herself look trashy with all that makeup and crazy outfits, but this simple look right here really shows what a beauty she is. I loved her on pop stars when she just came across as this innocent talented girl…right now she just tries too hard all the time, even when she talks, to look/sound/act sexy
P.S. beckers, I read that nicole’s dancing partner shown here, derek hough, has been “talking” with cheryl cole and providing support throughout this whole fiasco with her cheating husband…i’ve also wondered if there’s more to it as well. if there really is somethign going on, i gotta say i’m surprised this scrawny guy with a kinda creepy face gets so many pretty girls

if i remember right the pussycat dolls group IS pretty much done because the other girls didn’t like how much attention Nicole got. i love her look: very thin but athletic. she will probably be one of the final on DWTS this season..i mean she has a dancer background and is very fit!
As a dancer of several diverse styles (ballet, bboying & bhangra) I can assure you that picking up a new style is far easier for someone with professional dance experience than someone with none. It really isn’t fair to the other contestants.
But its also celeb reality so who cares who wins, its not like their big break into the field of their dreams?
Her body is always nice but she never seems to be having fun with it. I guess that might happen when it’s crucial to your success. She’s always very serious or in character of a sexy pop star.

@Jj…agree with you. Nicole is a dancer but NOT a BALLROOM dancer which is vastly different. The “DWTS” show has had on others who are dancers and do/did dance as part of their “musical” (singing, etc) perormances. Ballroom dancing (in comparison) to just doing lots of dance moves like, say Beyonce, while singing and such are like comparing apples and oranges,…different! Nicole undoubtedly has a good propensity/edge to learn (more easily) ballroom dancing b/c she is more limber, toned. When Melissia Rycroft (who was on the Bachelor Show & selected by Jason then Jason changed his mind & picked Molly in front of a couple million TV viewers)…she was a Dallas Cheerleader & had a background of dance (like ballet and other various dancing lessons that lots of girls take as they are growing up). Melissia really, really “cleaned house” after that (getting dumped by the Bachelor when he went back and chose Molly). (BTW, Molly & Jason are getting married in the next week or two, I heard). By ‘cleaning house’…I mean…Melissa went on at the last minute to DWTS like a week prior to the actual “airing of the show” b/c someone got injured like a week before the show started to be televised! Melissia didn’t get in the 4 or 5 weeks of practice before the show actually airs. Melissa came in 3rd during her stint on “DWTS”! That French guy Giles was 2nd and Shawn Johnson (think that was her last name…she was a gymnast who had won some awards at the Summer Olympics). Melissia has since become a “special correspondent” on ABC for GMA (Good Morning America) and does lots of special assignments for them (ABC Network & GMA). But back to Nicole..think she probably has a great chance to be in the TOP 2 or 3. People are saying that the figure skater Evan (’something’) who won at the Winter Olympics will win. Just b/c most of the “Olympic Winners”…IE: Christie Yamagucci, Apollo Ono, Shawn Johnson…all Olympic winners took 1st place. So, who knows.
@Mel…you’re right…many of those selected for “DWTS” are going thru or have gone thru staled out careers…like Chloris Leachman…but she was on IMO just b/c she was so funny and people knew she wouldn’t win (at 83 years old)…but she got 1/2 through it. The voters liked her antics. Tom Delaney who was Speaker of the House at one time (he dropped out b/c of an injury, though), Shannen Doherty is currently in this cast of dancers. So, it is a mix of Has-beens PLUS those who really could take home the 1st prize (But, surprisingly Donny Osmond won the last DWTS in the fall of 2009). Think that Nicole will be among the top of the group. Depends on the “fans base”. Sorry…probably TMI in all my comments…I apologize.

@Mel: DWTS doesn’t only just have people whose careers are going stale…some Olympic athletes have been on it (Shawn Johnson, Apolo Ohno, now Evan Lysacek) and I wouldn’t consider their careers as going nowhere.
She is of Filipino-Hawaiian-Russian decent. Her surname is from her German stepfather.
I do find her trashy but she’s so naturally gorgeous that I can overlook it. I love the long hair because it looks so healthy! She oozes good health in my opinion. This is what I would call ‘on the verge of being too thin’ (I see what you mean about her bony chest) but still on the right side of that line.

That said, she seems like she tries so hard too look sexy soo much, which isn’t so sexy but I’m sure there’s a lot of pressure on her cause that’s pretty much what PCD sells. And yeah, it totally sucks to be on dancing with the stars this year as your regular joe, and getting stuck competing against not only nicole but evan lysander or whatever his name is. Two trained, successful dancers. Ouch.

It is refreshing to see a nice healthy skinny body but thats all i have nice to say about her! SHes kind of trashy and ive heard that shes a real diva on tour and wont the other girls shine on stage. Im definately not rooting for her on the show!

I thought you couldn’t do dancing with the stars if you had alot of experience in dance, am i wrong? I never watched dancing with the stars so I’m not definitely sure.But i think its an unfair advantage.
Looks do not make up for the the list of horrible stories her fellow band mates have about her. It makes her ugly.

She’s verging on too skinny. And I completely agree with Rebecca about her attempts at always trying to look and sound sexy. It reeks of desperation. If you are truly confident, you don’t have to put on airs. I find a lot of the really beautiful actressess to be desperate. And when she was on POPSTARS, she was the one who always wanted to use the promo pictures in which she looked the best as opposed to the whole band looking good.
