I was looking at protein shakes the other day, but was a bit worried about taking protein as I only know guys who use it and none of my girl friends do- definitely working for Jessica though, that and all the working out.

    She has such an incredible body- it takes a lot of hard work to maintain such a thin and muscular tone. I would love to have her body. I don’t know much about protein drinks but if you’re taking in the calories from the drink and the high percentage of protein you really have to do a lot of exercise and weights- good for her for maintaining a healthy figure.

    Protein helps repair muscle… So unless you’re doing lots of heavy weights like most men do, women having protein is fine, it won’t make you bulky. It will help get lean, toned muscles.
    She looks great. So toned and has a great perky bum!

    Women aren’t predisposed to bulk and won’t unless they eat in excess hundreds of calories, much from protein, while lifting weight and, in the case of professional weight lifters, take steroids. Common misconception propagated by women’s health magazines. Endless cardio will result in lower weight, but the same ratio of muscle to fat, what most of you around here like to call “skinny fat.” If you lift weight, consume lots of protein to repair broken muscles, but eat at a caloric deficit, you’re going to look like Jessica Biel, which is hot.

    Whoever commented saying that protein is supposed to make you bulky couldn’t be more wrong. Please don’t say things just to say things and base your comments on fact. Protein does not create “bulk” it is an important nutrient essential for repairing muscles after training (among other things). Even if all you want is “tone” you need to have protein in your diet – and post workout it is vital. I get so frustrated when girls don’t understand the importance of nutrition accompanying any lifting/cardio program.

    Btw I’m a personal trainer. Just my 2 cents, but Jessica looks GREAT!

    So glad that there are some wise people here who know a thing or two about protein and lifting weights!! It is so silly to think that protein shakes are only for men. I mean are eggs and meat only meant to be consumed by men also? Protein is protein – it’s not going to make you bulky. If you eat too many calories than your body needs you put on weight. Lifting weights helps you get “toned” which is really just a word for building muscle and losing the layer of fat on top. Weights also increase your metabolism so you burn more calories even at rest. Protein shakes are great for post-workout because consuming them in a liquid form means they get to your muscles quickly so they can repair and grow!! If you wanna look hot like Jess – LIFT WEIGHTS – and of course eat right and do interval cadio

    Great body. She seems a lot smaller now than she was when she first started out. By the way, drinking protein shakes won’t make you bulk up unless you have a hormone imbalance (I used to and I could gain 7lbs of muscle in 4 weeks with just my usual interval/weights routine).

    I lift weights & consume protein & the results are great. I’m in no way overdeveloped or bulky.

    “Overdeveloped” female quads, traps & delts is subjective. Judging from some of the comments on this site, ANY hint of muscle on a woman automatically makes her “bulky, manly, thick” etc. It seems like most people on here prefer the soft, shapeless almost scrawny look.

    anyone who says anything bad about her body is crazy! it always looks fierce and all of the guys i know think so too, not that guys should be the standard or anything…

    regarding protein, i think the misconception is that those protein shakes are sometimes consumed in addition to regular meals and can have a lot of calories, so sometimes guys use them to bulk up. if you are eating them on top of your normal calorie intake then ofcourse you are going to add weight, but if you are replacing meals and still getting the right amount of calories, it should help you get leaner, not bulkier. as said before, women don’t NORMALLY develop the same huge muscles as guys. Protein = Good!

    She looks great. Not a fan of protein supplements, though. Unless you’re a hardcore athlete/bodybuilder who needs to consume massive amounts of protein to maintain a certain physique, you can get everything you need from your diet. I think people are so scared of not being able to gain lean mass unless they buy into all of these protein powders, bars and drinks. It’s kind of ridiculous.

    The thing is not everyone gets enough protein from their diet.
    The same way that not everyone gets enough calcium, vitamins & nutrients from diet alone. In fact, most people don’t. That’s why there are vitamins, calcium supplements, etc. Taking supplements when diet alone can’t(or isn’t) providing you with whatever it is you are lacking isn’t ridiculous. Making blanket statements is.
