I think she is very pretty, but I do think she looks much older than what she really is. She looks around 40 and I think it may be due to the extreme dieting she has been doing which is so sad.
Agree that Kate is very, very skinny (for 5′10″). There were “rumors” that she had gotten down to around 110 lbs. She has such a tiny waist …and she looked absolutely breath-taking today in her wedding dress. (Very “Grace Kelly-ish”). Kate is gorgeous I think that she is a beautiful woman! Perhaps she lost lbs just b/c of “stress”/anxiety and just getting ready for her famous (history-making) wedding!? Would like to see her in a few months to see if Kate is still so, so skinny! Her sister, Pippa looked absolutely beautiful as well.

Hey, when you’re marrying a prince, I’d make sure nothing was sticking out too! She looked absolutely STUNNING on her wedding day. It’s also common for brides to shed anxiety/stress weight before a wedding and she’s always been slender. Her face has gotten sharper and more angular because of the weight loss but she still looks good. Very stylish here, put together and just very pretty. On that note, I do hope she doesn’t get scary thin or develop an ED.

Apparently she had her hips padded to make her waist look even tinier in her wedding gown. Any other ways to make your waist look smaller please? I don’t think I want to try that trick.
Just because someone loses a bit of weight does not mean they are on their way to an eating disorder. I think she looks great now — not too thin at all. She looks like a model and her face is much prettier IMO. She looks a bit older than her age but so does her sister.

She’s very “eeeehhhh.” –Looks 45 at least. And her teeth are bad, they are really thick and look like dentures– she should make a trip across the pond for some American dentistry;)
To me it’s just her eye area that looks aged and older than 29. Aside from that I don’t think she’s pretty. I still can’t decide if i think her or Diana is/was prettier. She looked beautiful today, pretty nice body.

Me, too, I’m hoping she’s gonna put a little bit of weight back on to make her face look younger. Aside from that she’s beautiful and I adore her hair. Seriously, if I could have anyone’s hair it would be hers, it’s gorgeous.

Agree, she looks like she aged 10 years by loosing so much weight. No way would I guess 29 years old, looks 39 or 40 even. If she gains some weight, no doubt she will look better. Way too thin. Sends the wrong message to girls watching this.

Kate is undeniably charming, but in terms of substance she can’t hold a candle to Maxima, our queen to be. From the onset of their relationship Maxima showed the Dutch that she has prince Willem-Alexander completely under her thumb. After that, we were even willing to overlook the fact that her father was a member of the dictatorial Videla regime in Argentina. People even look forward to Alexander’s reign these days, now THERE’S an accomplishment. I hope that Kate is taking notes.
Oh, I forgot about this. In memory of those loved and lost I wear my age with pride these days. Therefore I dare you all to find other ways to show your disapproval of someone’s appearance besides pulling the age card. It’s not like being 45 is the worse thing that could ever happen to you. We should all be so lucky to make it that far. So Skinnies, why not be creative and take your comments to an even higher level?
I totally agree with you – her face looks ten years older than she actually is. And that makes me sad because people often forget that there is slim and fit&toned and looking almost emanciated like Kate dies.
So – eat, exercise and be glorious, that looks much better IMHO.
Look at VB – she’s pregnant, gained a few pounds that show on her face – I think she looks so much better.

I’m 5′9 and 120lbs, and Kate’s waist could fit in my thigh. She’s quite a bit more muscular than I am though, so it could be true, but she looks to be around 110-115. She’s rail thin these days, there’s just nothing there. I think she’ll gain some back rather quickly after the stress of the wedding passes. I mean, just imagine your wedding being wathced by BILLIONS of people….talk about stress.

@toot: yes, the bustle (which would pad the hips) with corset is a signature Alexander McQueen type of construction. And like Vivenne Westwood, he (and now his design house) has always studied and used old types of construction. It’s really interesting reading about all the details of the wedding dress: the hand-made lace is some traditional Irish skill as well, for instance.
Anyway, I think this girl is very pretty. And it’s definitely good genes: she looks a lot like her mum! But I also think she got a little too thin for the wedding. It does make her look older than she is.

Kate is built like a model. Tall with miniature bones – damn her!! Gorgeous, too. Regal, timeless beauty, nothing trendy or trashy about her. She handled the whole day like a total pro.
I hate that princesses have to wear ridiculously elaborate gowns (I doubt you’re allowed to wear a sexy mermaid), but she made hers modern with the lace sleeves. Pretty sure her waist was 19″ in that dress! *jealous*

i agree with all the comments about how old she looks. i cant put my finger on it but there is something about her that makes me put her age at about 40. she seems sweet and she is cute enough. but she far from beautiful. she is quite slim though. despite what most ppl think Diana was no beauty either =/
I agree she looks older than 29, although she is attractive. I believe her ages look is due to her makeup and eyebrows. It was said yesterday that she applied her own makeup for the ceremony. I think that was the mistake. It made her look older than she needed.
Yikes- I get told I look like her. I’m not sure I should take that as a compliment!
She looked absolutely beautiful yesterday, and yes, she is thin, but who wouldn’t be for such an occasion? (A royal wedding that most of the world is going to watch.) I’m sure it was quite stressful getting prepared for such a day. Hopefully, she puts a little weight back on- I personally think she’s a little too thin, but I doubt she has an ED.

Ha ha (I get all itchy if I don’t start my comments that way)– when I first read that I didn’t have my readers on and I thought it said, “you should henceforth only go out with the Dutch oven.” And I liked that idea! But actually I was only asking my question for “a friend.” Seeing as my chest and waist are 13″ and my hips are 82″ and growing I’m not really concerned about my waist looking smaller.

Pretty sure Izzy has been hitting the bubbly again. She meant to say that her leg is 120lbs, and that Kate herself could fit into her thigh.
She is clearly very classy, elegant, and won’t be caught dead wearing anything too trendy or revealing. She looked fabulous at her wedding. However, she does look a bit older than she is and it is due to the fact that she is too thin, she is rumored to be a smoker, she appears to have self tanner on (which dries out the skin and makes people, especially people with dry facial skin look years older, and her makeup application does not take all of these things into consideration.) If you look at her mom and sister, they both have the same things going on…too much self tanner, skin that looks like smokers skin, too thin, etc…

I absolutely ADORE her!!! Beautiful and so classy! I loved at the wedding when she stepped out on the balcony and said, “Oh wow”!! She’s so real!!! Someone told me they saw her say, “I’m so happy” at one point! And how she just beamed from ear to ear! Ahhhhhhhhhh, to be her for that ONE day!!!

@Mickey von Dutch — it’s fine to look like you’re 42 when that is your actual age but who wants to look older than they are? Not me. Also, even though I personally find myself drawn to older people mostly, I have to agree with Charlotte Rampling who said ‘There’s something magnetic about youth and there’s no point getting uptight about it.’
She has naturally rounder features in her face so I think the more weight she loses, the more gaunt she looks – hence people thinking she’s older. Her face naturally has that rosy All-American look, not that model-esque angular look, so weight loss is aging.
That said, she really looks fine weight-wise. If she was another celeb here, we’d say she looked normal for Hollywood. I have friends that are thin. It’s nothing ground-breaking. She’s tall and thin – not anorexic.
She has a very “Katie Holmes” kind of appeal it seems. Not “hot” or “sexy” but classically pretty. Just pretty enough where you like them as a couple, but not too pretty that you begrudge her.

You are totally right of course, but I can’t help but think that some people use age as the ultimate insult. Personally, I could think of a million other ways to insult someone. Just kiddin. Uhm, no I’m not. I actually do know a million ways. *heads for the nearest exit in order to seek much-needed help*
if you look at Kate’s mother and sister they’ve all got identical body shapes – very slender, tall and lean. Every bride looses weight leading up to their big day, I can’t imagine the pressure she must’ve been under afterall she has married our future king!
Kate’s a classic beauty, makes me very proud to be British!
@ Toot: if you want a skinny waist, hula hoop for at least 15min every day. When I do it 2 weeks, 4 or 5 times a week (1 hour a day) my waist will get like 3-4cm smaller.
And Kate looks very pretty. Very thin yeah, but won’t you get stressed out when tons of people will she your most happy day live on television?

Dont really keep up with the tabloids on the royals so didnt even know who she was until all the wedding shenanigans were all over the news….but yeah, when I first saw her pic next to Prince William I thought she looked old enough to be his aunt or something lol. Other pictures make her look a lil younger, but man there are a few that age her considerably…
i read the her and pippa both smoke ciggarettes. she was photographed with a pack in her purse. which I like because I smoke too. even though it may be unhealthy its nice to see even royals smoke! haha

Hmmm. People on this blog and every other one seem to think she looks significantly older than 29 — I just don’t see it! I’m in my mid-20s and most of my friends are mid-20s to early-30s, and I don’t think she looks older than us at all. I’m just kind of confused. She doesn’t have wrinkles. She looks healthy. She has glorious thick long hair. What on earth screams “over 29″ about this woman? I just really don’t see it. I’m not even criticizing people for saying it – it seems to be such a commonly held view that I’m wondering what signs of aging I’m missing.

That’s A LOT of work– more power to you for being able to work that hoop for an hour at a time! Wow. I don’t think I could do that. I might be willing to give it a stab, though, if I thought it could help with my biggest problem area, my personality. My waist is nothing compared to that ball and chain I drag around with me.

i watched the royal wedding i said i wasnt going to but i sure did. i have to say this woman looked like a disney princess and her sara burton gown was something of old hollywoord reminding me of grace kelly. she looked poised, sophisticated and graceful last friday morning. I also loved her sister’s dress as well..it loked so cool to have your maid of honor also in white …what a beautiful weding.
i have to say i think this woman is more handsome looking then beautiful or gorgeous. She is pretty but just the girl next door. but she looked great at her wedding. i think she definately lost weight too.
She’s actually 30, not 29. Prince William is 29.
She looks older than 29 because her skin on her face is crepey. Its not just her smile lines and crows feet. I’m 27 with no crows feet; I have smile lines, but only one set. She has smile lines after her first set of smile lines. My skin also isn’t crepey. The skin on her neck is stretched taut when she talks.
Nicole Richie is 29 and even she doesn’t look as old with all of the partying she did.
Kate looks nice but it depends on which angle you get her at. Some she looks like a skeleton with skin streched over it, some looks like she is just thin.
Hey she is just an ordinary looking woman who got very lucky and now is in public eye….all the hype…i am 36, never take care of my skin and look 25 and for people who say that Kate smoke…i’ve been smoking since i was 14….so thats BS….she looks very old for her age….has a good height and is skinny…which she should have otherwise she will look more ordinary than ordinary girls….the rest is all access to money and stylists knowing that you will be viewed all the time….and the focus 24 hours on looking good…hence she has improved dramatically and will so in the future….but as long as two of them are happy thats all what counts….Best of luck to them but i would never agree that she is extra ordinary in any way and her sister is less ordinary than even her
