The latest issue of OK Magazine claims to reveal something that a lot of people wonder about… celebrities’ dress sizes.
Unfortunately there are only six women’s sizes mentioned. And they are…
- Eva Longoria - Size 0
- Jennifer Aniston - Size 2
- Eva Mendes - Size 4
- Katherine Heigl - Size 6
- Mariska Hargitay - Size 8
- America Ferrera - Size 10
The article also says that Katherine Heigl had to go down to a size 2 for her role in “Knocked Up”. But I think she looks thinner now than she did in that movie… Also, didn’t America Ferrera claim to be a size 6 a while back? She seems slimmer these days then ever, so how could she go UP two sizes?
Hmm…

America Ferrera (main character on the hit ABC show Ugly Betty) recently told a British magazine that she thinks it is a joke for people to call Eva Longoria and Jessica Alba “curvy”.
“And I think it’s hilarious when people call Jessica Alba or Eva Longoria curvy. Come on – they’re not curvy. I’m curvy!”
America went on to talk about how Hollywood puts pressure on actresses to be thin, and how she lucked out at landing the part of Betty Suarez because she wasn’t prepared to lose weight for a role.
America said she was fortunate to nab the role of Betty, because she’s not prepared to starve herself for her art.
“I’ve been really lucky,” she said. “The role has prepared me to be exactly who I am and not to change.
“And what is normal now? Is it normal to be size zero?”
I know that a lot of people have different ideas on what it means to be “curvy”. As I discussed in a previous post, some people believe curvy means “chubby”. Some think it means “to have boobs and hips and a butt”. Some just think women who aren’t stick-thin are automatically curvy. And still others think that curvy means “overweight” or “flabby”.
I happen to feel personally that America Ferrera is wrong - and that Jessica Alba and Eva Longoria are both in fact curvy. True, they are very slim women. But they have hips… they have a waist and boobs and butts… just because they aren’t flabby or have excessive poundage doesn’t mean they aren’t curvy!
