(In case anyone was wondering, this is the same post from earlier but with added information that I just came across!)
Anyway, Nicky Hilton is allegedly denying that she is starving herself down or suffering from anorexia. Instead, she claims, it’s “pictures with unflattering angles”.
“There’s no truth to any starvation, eating disorders, rumors.
“I think the press has been printing a lot of pictures of me from unflattering angles.
“My friends see the pictures and they’re like, ‘Oh my god, are you OK?’ And then they see me, and they’re like ‘Oh … ‘ It’s really not that interesting or true.”
Uh huh. For the record, it’s not just one paparazzi company getting these pics, it’s all of them. So I’m wondering if someone is in a bit of denial?
Plus, pictures might lie, but they often make a person look bigger, not thinner!
What do you all think about this?
Anyway, Nicky was spotted in Beverly Hills yesterday, doing some shopping (as usual) and wearing skinny jeans.

For a person to look THIS thin in skinny jeans, they must be near emaciation…

Wow.

I got a couple of email tips in the past month or so that Portia de Rossi was relapsing into her former anorexic state. (I couldn’t find evidence that the rumors were true, so I didn’t post about it).
But now we have a new picture of her. Here is a photo of Portia at the 16th Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards viewing party yesterday:

Unfortunately the dress makes it difficult to tell if she’s lost any weight, but I’m thinking she looks about the same as she did the last time we saw her?

Former supermodel Janice Dickinson (who has also appeared in the UK comedy “I’m a celebrity, get me out of here!“) recently admitted that she suffered from bulimia, alcoholism and cocaine addiction during her career. She also spoke about the abuse she suffered as a child, which actually fueled her into making something of herself.
She says, “I was told on a daily basis by my father that I would never amount to anything and that I looked like a boy. […]”
So yet another celebrity comes out of the eating-disorder closet… who is next?

Some of you may or may not recognize this name… Andrea Muizelaar was the winner of the 2006 Canadian’s Next Top Model. Just a few days ago, she opened up in an interview and talking a little about the anorexia she developed on her way to becoming a famous top model.
She claims that she first developed anorexia after losing 20 pounds right before officially becoming a model. After that, she used her career to “hide” her eating disorder.
The entire interview can be found here - make sure to go read it. It is very interesting and Andrea is very candid about her thoughts on the relation between anorexia and the modeling industry.
MH: Is that when you first became anorexic?
AM: Yes - I lost 20 pounds that summer and then starting losing my control and modelling became my new excuse for this weight loss and soon-to-be disorder.
MH: Who did you look up to on that show?
AM: All the contestants on the show, minus the plus size girl because I knew modelling was all about thin and not regular people.
MH: […] Do you think Tyra Banks picks the bigger models for “good TV” instead of actually succeeding in modeling?
AM: Absolutely - has any of them ever won yet? …or come close?
MH: After the Pantene photo shoot, at panel, all the judges criticized your weight, specifically that you didn’t weigh enough, and you later became defensive and said you ate well. This was interspersed with an interview from Alanna who said she never saw you eat a full meal the entire time you were in the house. The mantra quickly became “Andrea, you need to eat!” Now my question is, do you feel that they truly cared about whether you ate or not, and do you think that mantra was just an excuse to go, “Well, I did say she needed to eat…”?
AM: They obviously did not care as I ended up winning the show and only ate dinner with everybody once.

As many of you have heard by now, Amy Winehouse’s father has been speaking to the press about his daughter’s recent drug and legal troubles.
The thing that caught my attention was his claim that Amy is suffering from bulimia, among other things.
Mr Winehouse said his daughter has cut down on her drinking in the past year but is still battling bulimia and drug addiction.
(Bolding added by me for emphasis).
Well, this is news! I can’t recall ever hearing about Amy’s bulimia in the past. Now her father has outed her.
Anyway, I hope that she gets help with her eating disorder and drug addiction. The girl is immensely talented and has such a wonderful future ahead of her if she cleans up her act!
