A recent issue of Star Magazine is ever-so-kindling suggesting that Kirstie Alley has gained some of her lost weight back.

For once, a tabloid seems to be correct! Here is a picture of Kirstie Alley out and about in Los Feliz, CA this past weekend, looking as though she has definitely gained some poundage back.

Star is guesstimating that Kirstie has gained back a whopping 75 pounds (since her slimmest weight in March 2006) and is back up to 220 pounds…

I guess this goes to show that dieting doesn’t really work long term… only a true lifestyle change does!

I know we all saw this one coming…!

Kirstie Alley has reportedly resigned from her Jenny Craig spokesperson campaign after three years. Queen Latifah has taken her place and will be involved in a new, “healthier” campaign. Also, Valerie Bertinelli will also remain on board with the company.

Jenny Craig spokesman Scott Parker says, “Although Kirstie will not appear in future advertising endeavours for us, she does remain on Jenny Craig’s maintenance program and is confident that our program has helped her incorporate positive lifestyle changes that should last a lifetime.

“Now that Kirstie has ‘passed her maintenance baton’ to Valerie, you’ll see a new campaign with a new celebrity client emerge in 2008… one that promotes health with Queen Latifah.”

It will be interesting to see how they will be promoting health with an overweight spokesperson… (and I don’t mean that in a rude way). Especially since Kirstie’s own involvement with Jenny Craig was somewhat scandal-ridden.

I sometimes wonder if the National Enquirer has some sort of vendetta against Kirstie Alley… I mean, they publish terrible and photoshopped pictures of her, not to mention the fact that they are always doing some sort of “weight” story on her.

The cover photo above, for example, is clearly a hack photoshop job.

Anyway, this latest article is claiming that Kirstie has been a nightmare to work with, both on the Jenny Craig campaign and the set of her last movie (filmed in Vancouver). Apparently Kirstie was so bitter over having to work with Valerie Bertinelli that she did nothing but complain and act like a diva the entire time. She also yelled at cameramen, saying they were trying to make her look bigger than she was.

“She accused cameramen of shooting her from unflattering angles and purposefully making her look heavier. One time Kirstie screeched: ‘What are you trying to do - make me look even bigger?’“

The “insider”, who supposedly worked with Kirstie during her Jenny Craig commercial shoots, goes on to say that Kirstie has strict rules about healthy food needing to be around at all times.

“Are you people stupid? I’m on a diet shooting a diet commercial, and you bring donuts on the set? Why don’t you just put lard on my thighs!”

(She has a point on that one!)

I can’t really say that I believe much of this article… tabloids have been outright making things up lately just for shock value.

Finally! Some new Kirstie Allie candids have surfaced. Kirstie was spotted in Los Angeles just yesterday, buying Halloween supplies.

I hate to say it, but this really doesn’t make the Jenny Craig diet look very good. I mean, sure, a person loses weight on the diet. But do they keep it off?

Nope. Well, at least not their most famous spokesperson!

The National Enquirer is at it again with their Kirstie Alley weight gain speculations. In their latest issue (on newsstands now) they are claiming her “weight has exploded again” - this time, to 200 pounds.

According to the article, Kirstie is upset over her “ballooning shape” and has turned to fellow Jenny Craig spokesperson, Valerie Bertinelli, for help. She also continues to deny that she has gained weight. However, alleged photos from September 12th (on the cover above) show otherwise.

THIS however is the real kicker of the article: they aren’t even sure of her weight, but using the photos to guess.

“Kirstie does not weigh less than 200 pounds,” says board certified nutritionist and fitness guru Jonny Bowden, Ph.D., who is not affiliated with Kirstie but reviewed recent photos of her.

How sad.

The article also throws around phrases such as “bingeing”, “packing on weight”, “accentuates her girth” and more. I’ll tell ya - nobody writes an article like the National Enquirer.
