The July/August issue of Muscle & Fitness Magazine is running a cover story about Kim Kardashian and her new fitness & training plan.

According to the article, Kim has been doing workouts with trainer-to-the-stars Gunnar Peterson, who has also worked with Jennifer Lopez, Angelina Jolie and Matthew McConaughey. Kim claims that she wants to “represent a girl who’s working hard to get in shape.”

“I want to represent a girl who’s working hard to get in shape,” she says. “It’s a process. People want the easy way out and the easy fix, but there isn’t one.”

Diet: Kim says that she feels guilty when she cheats on her diet now that she’s trying hard to get fit.

“It’s amazing,” she says. “The more I work out, the guiltier I feel when I cheat, so I cheat less and less. Now I try to eat fish and vegetables for most of my meals.”

(Sounds like she is on a low-fat, low-carb diet!)

But something doesn’t ring true… we heard a couple weeks ago that Kim was spotted buying cookies for the ‘Hollywood Cookie Diet’. And the Muscle & Fitness magazine cover is clearly very heavily retouched! In fact, we just saw some un-retouched photos of Kim from last month (see the Life & Style below):

So what exactly is going on? Did they really Photoshop her to within an inch of her life or has she miraculously put on several pounds of muscle and leaned down? What do you all think?

Mom-of-two Lisa Rinna was recently interviewed in an issue of US Magazine about how she keeps her figure slim and toned. She claims to exercise “six days a week, often for two hours at a time” and eats a clean diet with lots of whole grains and veggies. Here are a couple of snippets from the article…

Her Diet:
“I eat clean, which means no processed foods,” Rinna tells US of her 1,800-calories-a-day diet. It also means no alcohol or soda, which, says Rinna, “are big when it comes to cellulite.” Instead, the actress, who used the Sunrider meal-delivery service during her pregnancies, sticks to whole grains, veggies, fruits and nuts, plus organic meat, cheese, eggs and yogurt. “I’ve noticed a shift,” she says. “My body has gotten very lean.”

Her Workout:
“I dance at least a couple of times a week,” says Rinna (who released a dance workout DVD, Dance Body Beautiful). “I run 30 to 45 minutes and do light weights.” Also in the mix? Pilates plus spin classes at Train in West Hollywood. And she works out with a personal trainer once a week. “It’s quite varied,” she says of her fitness regimen. Still, even the seemingly flawless have issues. “I’m insecure about my stomach after two kids,” she says. “I’m always doing situps.”

Lisa is 5′6, 115 pounds, has a 24-inch waist and wears a size 0. (52 kilos/8 stone 3 lbs).

Here is a photo of Lisa signing copies of her book at a Borders in NYC last week… it looks like all the exercise has paid off!

High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens shared a few tiny tidbits about her diet and exercise routine in the May 2009 issue of Self Magazine:

On diet: “I eat whatever, just in tiny portions. Honestly, when I tried to diet and eat fewer carbs and eat more protein, I ended up gaining a few pounds. [...] My worst OD’ing weakness is hot Cheetos. One day, when I was sick in bed watching Lost, I ate a whole bag.”

On abs: “My secret to flat abs is pilates.”

On working out: “I like sitting in the front row of cycling class. I feel like everybody behind me is looking forward, and that pushes me to do my best. [...] I like to work out with friends. It gives you someone to look at and say, ‘I’m dying!’ to.”

It sounds like she has a reasonably healthy attitude towards food and exercise, IMHO… what do YOU all think?
