Kourtney Kardashian on cover of OK Magazine

Many of you have probably seen Kourtney Kardashian’s “How I Got Slim” cover story in last week’s OK Magazine by now. According to the article, Kourtney has now lost a total of 45 pounds since giving birth to son Mason Disick in December 2009. Kourtney reportedly eats small, frequent and nutritious meals and tries to hit the gym weekly with her sisters.

Here is an example of her ‘daily food diary’ outlined in the magazine:

Day Two
BREAKFAST: Oatmeal with honey
SNACK: Greek yogurt
LUNCH: Salad with grapefruit and shredded chicken, iced green tea
SNACK: QuickTrim Fast Shake
DINNER: Scrambled eggs and whole-wheat bread
DESSERT: A gingerbread cookie

Here is an excerpt of the interview with OK:

Q: You look great! Did you have a goal?
K: Thanks. I was 140 when I gave birth and I’m 95 now. But for me, it’s about being a healthy mom, not a certain weight.

So at 95 pounds and her reputed height (according to IMDB) of 5 feet, her BMI is 18.6, which is just barely into the ‘normal’ weight range. (18.5 and under is considered to be ‘underweight’). What do you all think – has she gotten too thin? Here is a photo of Kourtney on New Year’s Eve:

According to the latest issue of In Touch Weekly, The Real Housewives of Orange County star Gretchen Rossi once suffered from bulimia. She shares some of her current diet and exercise info in the article and only briefly touches on the actual eating disorder, which apparently didn’t last very long.

Here’s some highlights:

Q: When did you problems with food begin?
A: I was a lot heavier back in high school and in college. I wasn’t even fat, I was only 130 pounds. But compared to what I look like now at 115 pounds, I thought I looked fat.

Q: When did you realize you had a problem?
A: Pretty quickly. I realized how much harm binging and purging could do to my body. It burned my esophagus, throat and nose, and I eventually saw my skin discolor. My hair began to thin out. I was dehydrated and felt lethargic. I even became anemic at one point. I realized the stress to my body could be life-threatening. It wasn’t worth it.

Q: How do you stay in shape?
A: Everything is about moderation. I’m not obsessed about how I look. I think I’m healthy and fit because I feel healthy and fit on the inside. And it [comes through] the outside.

Q: What is your diet like?
A: I don’t count calories or cut sugar out. I have a little taste of everything, then, for the next three days, I’ll be really careful.

Hmm… yet another reality-TV personality coming out about an eating disorder in a tabloid magazine… who is next?

Tori Spelling: “I Weigh 107 Pounds!”

Tori Spelling took to her twitter account late last week, arguing that she weighs 107 pounds, and not the shockingly thin 95 pounds that the magazine article claims.

From Tori’s twitter:

Star Mag…LIES! Literally not 1 factual thing in entire article. And, come 2 my house&weigh me Star! I’m 107lbs. if you care about FACTS?!?

The Star Magazine article claims that Tori was rushed to the hospital two weeks ago for severe abdominal pain, dizziness and headaches. After several tests, doctor could find nothing wrong with her so they sent her home, but she was back a couple days later with the same complaints.

Nowhere in the actual article does it state she weighs 95 pounds, however. I guess Star just throws any old claim on the cover to sell more copies of their magazine!

According to her own admission, however, Tori Spelling is underweight. At 5′6 and 107 pounds, her BMI is only 17.3 – well within the ‘underweight’ range!

For those of you who wanted to know how Ashlee Simspon lost her baby weight so quickly and so effectively, here’s the secret:

She lucked out with good genes and simply worked out for 3 months.

After delivering her son Bronx Mowgli, now 8 months, Ashlee Simpson-Wentz was prepared for an uphill battle when it came time to shed the pregnancy pounds and regain her figure.

But she was pleasantly surprised to find that she quickly bounced back with little effort on her part, she tells Celebrity Baby Blog.

“After I had Bronx I lucked out,” the actress-singer admits. “I mean, I’m 24-years-old, [I have] the genes from my mother and I did work out for three months.”

I guess some people have all the luck! Ashlee is however good friends with skinny mother-to-be Nicole Richie… perhaps they traded baby weight loss secrets?
