No Girls Over 100 Pounds Allowed at Nicole’s Party

This is supposedly an invitation that Nicole Richie sent out to her friends for a Memorial Day party that her and Mischa Barton were throwing together. I’m not even going to speculate whether or not this was a joke on her part, or if this entire thing was fabricated, because it’s pretty obvious. Mischa Barton and most of the other celebrities who attended the party weigh over 100 pounds, after all.

Of course that’s a joke, now that we see it in context. The whole invitation sounds like a dumb joke. Not that the party wasn’t real, but the invitation was all in humor. Obviously.

the bit about the jeans being ripped open was a bit slutty and yes obviously it is a joke and she is making fun of all the eating disorder hype around her but it wasn’t funny. not because it was offensive but because it was lame.

i think this invite was supposed to be humorous–and nicole succeeded! it made me laugh!
and i dont think its making fun of an eating disorder. it is just making fun of people in general! afterall most people about 5′7 weigh more than 100, no matter how skinny. i am 5′9 and i know my bones weigh so much, i could never be under 100..

As I posted in the other Nicole Richie thread from earlier, sure, they’re being funny, but there’s a big chubby kernel of truth within… thumbing their noses at those who aren’t as skinny as they are… it’s a fairly open Hollywood “game” these days.
The invite is truth wrapped in a joke, basically.
If you think she doesn’t mean it at all, you should see the text messages she sent to model Lauren Hastings about Lauren being so “fat”. See the earlier thread for our longer discussion on the matter…

Well of course its a joke, but in general I think Nicole feels a sense of superiority towards those (almost everyone) who are heavier than her. She sent emails to Lauren Hastings calling her fat, she said on the tyra banks show “well its not like I mock fat people and point at them and laugh at them” and now this. All in all, its an anorexic superiority complex. I used to have anorexia myself (I’m in recovery)- but honestly sometimes anorexics DO feel superior to those who are bigger.

I just think it would be annoying to have to make a statement saying that it was fake because her rep did and she also went on to some radio thing saying it was a joke. She always talking about how annoying the media is you think she would want to avoid it. But obviousely not for her, the only thing she is famous for is her weight and shit.

But hey, for Nicole that 100 pounds is just normal weight. I mean that if she’s 5′1 and weights 100 pounds, that makes her BMI 18.9. Of course Nicole’s BM is smaller than 18.9 but you now what I mean. 100 pounds isn’t shocking weight for short people.
I think that was really hilariuos. She´s shown us her sense of humour and some and you don´t even get that - which proofs she is kinda good about being sarcastic. She totally can laugh to herself. Good girl.

I AGREE !!! It was (is) quite obviously a joke !! (the 100 lb. comment) I.M.O…..I think that Nicole is always going to be a “wannabe” (actress, singer, whatever)! I DO, however, think that she has a really cool sense of humor! She is way more funnier than Paris or any of the other starlets she hangs with. She is funny on the SImple Life. Don’t really like the show EXCEPT for the parts where Nicole’s sense of humor spices things up!
I think this is funny. It’s meant to be a joke I’m sure and she’s just showing that she doesn’t care too much of what others say. I’m sure many of you have done something making fun of something someone has said about you. This is her way of doing it.

Her being too skinny to even look at aside, I’ve seen some of her on the Simple Life and I found myself laughing with her more than at her (unlike her sidekick).

Its a joke… but it would have been a lot funnier if she was just a thin girl and not actually under 100 pounds. The frat boys in college always used to joke that there would be a scale at the door to their parties to keep the fat girls out… but it was just a joke!!!

Im 4ft 10 japanese girl and weight 82lbs but im still a little chubby round the middle. wonder if i could go to the party? haha.
i think its wrong to judge someones thinness or fatness by their weight, because if your small like me, being under 100lbs doesnt mean anything. but if i was 5ft 10, maybe id look reaaaaaaaally scary. people could call me skinny grim, with my size 0 black cape and my light weight scythe. heheh
