Even if it is her, am I the only person that really doesn’t get the big hype with this girl? I genuinely think she’s unattractive (horse-face, much? blech, so not cute), and her songs are good, sure, but she didn’t write them. She has a voice, okay, but she’s nowhere NEAR the likes of Mariah Carey/Whitney, and I can’t believe people are really comparing them. As someone who has sang since I was 7 (and no, this doesn’t mean I think I’m the next Mariah), but she just doesn’t have the kind of talent I’d expect to see in the kind of “prodigy” they’re making her out to be.
She looks like Scary Spice with a better stylist. I mean, come on, people, let’s call a spade a spade. She’s a nice little pre-packaged product straight from Simon Cowell himself, but beautiful and the next Mariah? I’d hold off on those adjectives. Just seems to me like another girl who made a CD who can sing well and had a great team of producers behind her (and some heavily touched up photography… jesus).
Uh…this is not Leona. Just for the record, Leona is CA right now.
She looks horrible here, although she is an amazing singer.

Wow, you guys all know the whereabouts of the real Leona Lewis and I don’t even know who the hell she is! In any event, that’s a fit-looking woman eating something that looks tasty.
I heard her record label wants her to lose weight. And she’s a vegan. I honestly think she has a good body, and as long as her face looks pretty…

The real Leona Lewis does right her own songs, has produced songs with well known artists and believe me, if she was just one of those many girls with a nice voice Simon Cowell would not have “hidden” her away for a year after her triumphant win of the X-factor. Before you slag someone off try and get some true information otherwise you just sound like a jealous little girl.

Leona Lewis is a vegetarian, but not a vegan. She is developing a line of vegan clothing though. And I’m having trouble believing that’s her..could be I guess.

I know it has already been said, but that woman is NOT Leona Lewis. I was in the audience when she was performing on the X Factor and was sitting 5 rows away from her when she sang. Trust me, that is not her.

Ouch Miss M and BSL, hit me where it hurts - my lack of a record deal!!! And Miss M, yes please, my dear, learn how to spell before you insult me. And another yes, I’ve listened to her entire record. Sounds like another over-produced pop album to me. So really? She wrote all those songs? I didn’t know she knew how to write for a synthesizer.
It’s a bit childish to claim that anybody that has a different opinion than you is a “jealous little girl”, don’t you think? I simply don’t find her to be the “LIKE TOTALLY AWESOME GORGEOUS POP STAR” everyone else does. End of story.
And yes, I have been singing since I was seven. Singing is a catharsis for me (look it up, girls), and I don’t sing this shit, I sing classical. And for me, singing on stage at Lincoln Center and touring the world with my singing group is just fine. So, damn, you’re right, I don’t have a record deal. Instead I have a degree from Oxford and a high profile career. But I do appreciate the open acceptance of others’ opinions.

Lolla, it’s called colloquial writing. I studied international politics and history, so actually, no, none of those topics were part of my weekly lectures (thank God). Given that, I would love to see examples of my poor (not “bad”, dear) diction as well as my over-punctuation (that gets a hyphen).
If we’re really going to get into a silly English lesson on this board, you might also want to reconsider beginning a sentence with “however”. The word is meant to be used lowercased after a semicolon.
All in all, your attempt at pretention was cute, but settle down, sweetie. My insult towards other members’ gross spelling errors is because those mistakes make their posts genuinely embarrassing and irritating to read.
A bit of advice: don’t get involved in petty banter simply for the sake of arguing. It makes you look immature and gives your opinions less substance; and given your desperate attempt to be an expert on the English langauge, I’m sure you want very badly to be taken seriously.
